Not nineteen forever. That's certainly what you'd imagine if Lukasz Fabianski's career history is anything to go by. In Saturday's defeat to Man City, the West Ham goalkeeper replaced Alphonse Areola at half-time, racking up his 19th direct involvement in a goalkeeping substitution. Three of those have come since January, meaning we're hedging our bets that number 20 could well occur before the season is out. Elsehwere in the Premier League, Aaron Ramsdale, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Sam Johnstone were all thrust into action at their new clubs, while Dean Henderson not only made three vital stops in a draw for Crystal Palace at Chelsea, but in turn bagged Celebration of the Weekend. In the EFL, Bristol City's Max O'Leary and Christy Pym of Mansfield staked their claim for Save of the Weekend, on the international stage a new three-man selection was introduced for the England Men's senior team and the U21s, and over in France a ray of light was handed to much-troubled Bordeaux thanks to a last-gasp goalkeeping equaliser.

Nottingham Forest have stept up their transfer activity this Wednesday morning, with the breaking news we already brought you of Gio Reyna being confirmed as a Red and should complete his loan move this afternoon. But the most important position to fill this January transfer window is for a goalkeeper, and today Forest stepped up their pursuit of Crystal Palace stopper Sam Johnstone. Sam Johnstone has found himself down the pecking order at Crystal Palace after the return from injury of former Forest player Dean Henderson. Forest already had a loan bid rejected for Johnson, but today have come back in with a firm cash offer around the £12 million mark. With the poor form of Turner let us know if you would be happy with the signing of Johnstone? In other news Forest have completed their second signing for today in Rodrigo Ribeiro, the Sporting forward is only 18 years old and played just 6 times for the first team in Portugal, but is highly thought of at the club. The deal is an initial loan with an option to buy for around £10 million, but it could turn into a obligation to buy if certain criteria is met. Crystal Palace now have a conundrum on their hands. Dean Henderson's welcome to return to action in the draw with Man City most likely means the No1 jersey is his to lose. We discuss that and plenty more in this week's show, including a first-ever four successive Premier League clean sheets for Jordan Pickford and the theatre that was Martinez/Maupay in Aston Villa's win over Brentford. In the EFL, Ben Hamer, Jack Bonham and Max O'Leary battled it out for Performance of the Weekend, Fleetwood's Jay Lynch pulled off a remarkable Save of the Weekend contender and Sutton shipped eight at Stockport.

The International break is over and Premier League action returns with some big questions around the game. Burnley and Luton have a double gameweek in GW7, so is Carlton Morris the only pick you need or do you really dive in and try to benefit? We look at Newcastle's fixture swing and who to invest in from the Geordies, as well as if Brighton assets should be in our starting XI's for their upcoming game against Man United. Finally, we look at the best goalkeeper replacements for Sam Johnstone and Matt Turner and look at a few differentials for the bolder players. Once you've negotiated a rather unimaginable tale told by Richard Lee this week, you'll find plenty of analysis on the weekend's key performers in the world of goalkeeping. David Raya pulled off a stunning double save at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (can it actually be credited as a "double save", though?), matched by decent stops from Sam Johnstone, David de Gea and Stefan Ortega - the latter receiving plenty of praise from Gary Neville as Man City beat Chelsea. In the League Two playoffs, Ben Hinchcliffe was the hero for Stockport – albeit after Alex Cairns had pulled off a Save of the Weekend contender in the dying moments of extra-time – and over in Turkey, on loan Alex Runarsson sounded the klaxon for the second time this season during his spell with Alanyaspor. There's a quick nod to Premier League PSxG stats, and we mention Maarten Stekelenburg - the one-time Dutch No1 who will be hanging up his gloves at the end of the campaign.

REMINDER: FREE EBOOK! As a way of saying thank you for helping me get the TCP off the ground, anyone who likes subscribes, and rates the TCP gets a free e-book. Hit me up by DM on IG @thatscriminalpodcast or email, john@johnstampwriter.com, and I'll send you one of my titles either Brother's Keeper, Shattered Circle, or Wraith of Sheltermount. Tonight I get to talk to bestselling author of the Sam Johnstone Series James Chandler. James Chandler spent his formative years in the western United States. When he wasn't catching fish or footballs, he was roaming centerfield and trying to hit a breaking ball. After a college baseball career, he exchanged jersey No. 7 for camouflage issued by the United States Army, which he wore around the globe and with great pride for twenty years before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel of Air Defense Artillery. He earned his Juris Doctor by attending night school at the George Mason University School of Law while assigned to the Pentagon and practiced law in Wyoming for twelve years before his appointment to the bench. When he isn't working or writing, he'll likely have a fly rod, shotgun or rifle in hand. His Sam Johnstone series includes: Misjudged, One and Done, False Evidence, and Capital Justice. James is a master of the legal thriller. We talk process, his background with the US Army, and his life as a judge. A great interview. As always thank you for your continued support for Blood Red Ivory, available in e-book, paperback, and audiobook everywhere. Thank you to Crush Limbo for the music. There’s a reference to a brilliant column, written by Jonathan Liew for the Guardian, which describes the sinister attack on a young black man.Although it's difficult to predict what sort of performance we will get from the lads this weekend, United are expected to claim three points from their home meeting with West Brom.Former United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone will be between the posts for the Baggies, and he's been talking about the impact David de Gea has had on his career, in the lead up to the match.Apologies - this podcast was delayed a week, so is slightly behind. Host Ricky Sacks was joined by Lee McQueen, John from Lilywhite Rose and Antony Costa on this week's Last Word On Spurs. A third successive league victory temporarily lifted Spurs to the top of the table on Sunday before Leicester replaced them after their 1-0 win against Wolves. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54766715) A game of few chances seemed destined to end goalless after Hugo Lloris had kept out Darnell Furlong's second-half header and a flurry of Tottenham chances had come and gone without reward. But, as has been the case so often in the past, Kane punished a minor lack of concentration to head home an 88th-minute winner. Mourinho said: "This guy does much more than scoring goals. For example, last five minutes he was playing as a number six and winning balls in front of the defence. Special." He added: "Harry Kane you have to say has this many goals, this many assists, this number of balls recovered, this number of duels won. This number of balls that he saved his team in defensive set-pieces. This is Harry Kane. It's goals plus this and this and this and that." The England captain's latest feat comes only days after he scored his 200th goal for the club. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54834414) Midfielder Eric Dier paid tribute to his team-mate's latest "fantastic record". He said: "He broke one in midweek and now he has another one. It won't affect him too much, he will want another 150." The decisive moment arrived when West Brom's defence failed to track Kane's run into the box, allowing him to leap unchecked to meet Matt Doherty's cross and guide the ball over goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. For West Brom, who have now scored once in their last five games, it was a result that keeps them in the relegation zone and already facing a tough battle to retain their top-flight status. #THFC #COYS #TOTTENHAM #HOTSPUR #TOTTENHAMHOTSPUR #SPURS #WBATOT
