On the 39th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1988 concept album by Queensryche, "Operation: Mindcrime." This was Queensryche's 3rd studio album. Lead singer, Geoff Tate cam up with the idea of the concept album after living in Canada and then convinced guitarist, Chris DeGarmo who then got the rest of the band interested. The story is about a man named, Nikki who gets involved in political assassinations, drugs and revolutions. The band was led by vocalist Geoff Tate and his unique look and incredible vocal range. The dual guitar attack of Chris DeGarmo and Michael Wilton and rhythm section of bassist, Eddie Jackson and drummer, Scott Rockenfield provide the unique Queensryche sound. The album was produced by Peter Collins and showed that Queensryche although wrongly lumped in with hair metal bands of that era, was something original and had something to say. . As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 35 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This was the 4th Shout It Out Loudcast Patreon pick and the guys have a lot to say and discuss. So remember now to speak to Sister Mary and don't look into the eyes of a stranger! Last month 80s MRB flew to Seattle WA. to interview Geoff with no idea what to expect. In fact we weren't even sure he'd show up. We set up at this 5 star hotel with an amazing view of the city as our backdrop and waited for Geoff. Counting down to the minutes he was supposed to arrive and then he did. In fact he arrived exactly as planned. We all introduced ourselves and told Geoff what we were hoping to get on camera. We sat him down in our famous directors chair & mic'd him up. This interview is almost 30 min, packed with amazing stuff. Geoff couldn't have been more generous with his stories and answers to all our questions. He spoke about writing Mindcrime, DeGarmo leaving, Scott Rockenfield, the band breaking up, a possible reunion, and so much more. Grab some popcorn, or a beer... sit back and enjoy this BRAND SPANKIN' NEW interview with our new friend... Geoff Tate.
On this episode of CHRIS AKIN PRESENTS..., Chris and TALKING INTO INFINITY: A DREAM THEATER PODCAST co-host Brian Hendrickson talk about WASP's THE CRIMSON IDOL vs. Queensryche's OPERATION MINDCRIME. Michael Wilton of Queensryche talks to Rock Scene about his very young years in San Francisco, moving to Seattle Washington and playing bass in garage bands while growing up. Eventually switching instruments with a guitar player, Michael began learning all that he could about the guitar. After high school, he attended the Cornish Institute of Allied Arts for a year and a half until running out of money, forcing him to take a job. In doing so, he met Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield and Chris DeGarmo. They started jamming and eventually put together a 4 song E.P. The only thing missing was a singer. Chris DeGarmo recruited Geoff Tate to lay his vocals down, and Queensryche was born.
O disco conta uma única história, dividida entre as seguintes faixas: "I Remember Now", "Anarchy—X", "Revolution Calling", "Operation: Mindcrime", "Speak", "Spreading the Disease", "The Mission", "Suite Sister Mary", "The Needle Lies", "Electric Requiem", "Breaking the Silence", "I Don't Believe in Love", "Waiting for 22", "My Empty Room" e "Eyes of a Stranger". We're back this week to deliver all the news that's fit to spit with New Noize 13! So far, 2021 has been an active year for rock and metal news. In this episode we talk about some of the notable stories that have taken place recently. Def Leppard recently launched an online museum for their fans. This site contains images of passes, stage worn gear, photographs, and tons more from their entire career. Best of all, it's actually free. We take a look at the Def Leppard Vault and share our thoughts on it and how it is a great template that other bands should be using for fan interaction. Some exciting reissues are on the horizon from the Ronnie James Dio era of Black Sabbath. Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules are getting the deluxe treatment and contain some cool bonus tracks. We talk about this cool reissue. Gene Simmons recently partnered with Gibson Guitars for a set of new guitars and basses as well as upcoming digital content. We break it all down in this episode. Legendary label owner Marsha Zazula passed recently. The co-founder of Megaforce Records was an integral part of opening the door to loads of great acts from the 80's. James Hetfield recently released a statement in tribute to Marsha and we discuss that. Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine recently revealed the working title for the next studio album. What is it? What do we think of it? You'll have to listen to find out. Don Dokken recently had some criticism of the new project from former band mates Jeff Pilson and George Lynch. In this episode we talk about those comments and read Jeff's response to them. Other notable news stories we touch on include Scott Rockenfield, Suspect208, Goran Edmond on Yngwie's treatment of the band, and how Elton John might be trying to ruin rock music (it'll make sense when you listen). Ideal Para Llevarte O Regalar Productos Del Podcats De Ivoox. Grabaron cuatro canciones - "Queen of the Reich", "Nightrider", "Blinded" y "The Lady Wore Black". A pesar de esta reacción, los singles Sign of the Times y You recibieron mucha difusión.
