Glenn Flickinger talks with Navy veteran, playwright, and director Harry Kantrovich the acclaimed drama Judgement at Nuremberg, the famous 1961 film starring Spencer Tracy and Burt Lancaster. Harry brings rare expertise to this discussion, having directed Judgement at Nuremberg on stage with the Prince William Little Theatre. His work brings this difficult history to life, challenging audiences to wrestle with the same ethical dilemmas confronted by postwar jurists. In the aftermath of World War II, the world confronted not only the devastation of battle but the profound challenge of justice. The third Nuremberg trial — officially The United States of America vs. Josef Altstoetter et al., known as The Justice Case — examined the role of judges and legal officials in Nazi Germany. The trail raised a fundamental question: Can legal professionals be held accountable for wielding the law as an instrument of atrocity? Drawing on both his military background and his deep engagement with dramatic storytelling, Harry offers insight into how Judgement at Nuremberg translates complex legal history into sharp human drama, why the story still matters today, and what the play reveals about law and collective responsibility. About the Nuremberg Trials: Nuremberg was made up of thirteen separate trials held in the same German courtroom between 1945 and 1949. The first, the famous International Military Tribunal, tried the top Nazi leaders like Göring and Speer and established the principle that individuals could be held responsible for crimes against peace, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. After that came twelve additional trials that looked deeper into the machinery of the Third Reich, putting on trial doctors, jurists, industrialists, and SS commanders who contributed to the wartime horrors of Nazi Germany.

Chad just got back from Wisconsin, and he's not slowing down. Next stop is Texas for an axis deer hunt during the rut with Jason Vanderbrink, CEO of the Kinetic Group. When you think Federal, Remington, Speer, CCI, Heavy Shot, Black Cloud — this is the man behind all of it, and he's invited Chad down to the San Antonio hill country for a spot and stalk during one of the most exciting times of the year to be in the field. Chad's shooting a Benelli Lupo with Federal Premium Ammunition, and he is ready. The trip also includes Hayes Carl at Green Hall in New Braunfels, one of Chad's favorite venues and one of his favorite songwriters. Compadre's Tacos in Bertram. Jason's game room, and something personal Chad's keeping close to the heart. It's all happening! Season 18 of Benelli's The Fowl Life premieres on the Outdoor Channel in July before moving to MoTV, and Chad hasn't shot a big game animal in a while. He's an all-ducks, all-geese guy at heart, but axis deer during the rut in the Texas hill country? That'll do it! This episode is brought to you by Corning Ford, The Nashville Palace, Banded Brands, Avery Outdoors, Benelli, and Realtree camo.

If you've ever wondered what real resilience sounds like when the stakes are high, Andy brings it with honesty and a steady, hard-earned optimism. We also zoom out to the full Speer huddle: how Andy meets his amazing wife, Rose, young; why her “let's go where the wind takes us” mindset shapes their marriage; and what it looks like to raise four athletic, driven kids across multiple moves and life chapters. On this episode, we're joined by the author of our Fiction Book of the Month for April, Jean-Noël Orengo, whose novel, intriguingly titled You Are the Führer's Unrequited Love, is an imagined portrait of the life and lies of Albert Speer, Hitler's closest confidant and chosen architect for Nazi Germany. Speer, who was found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity at Nuremberg, successfully transformed his public image from that of a war criminal into that of the prototypical “Good Nazi,” becoming an international celebrity and one of the most prominent historical chroniclers of the Third Reich. Now, as we approach a time when almost no living witnesses remain, Orengo's novel asks vital questions about who gets to write history and whether it can be relied upon.Hosted by Ryan Edgington. Benny Speer (#Mr. Benny & The Jets) knows a little bit about Michigan rock history. His father booked shows in Detroit, bringing in the first New York Dolls, Blue Oyster Cult and Kiss concerts, exposing and formulating the Motor City music scene to what we all know today. Benny played the clubs, halls, theaters, from Michigan through Canada, as a regional singer/guitarist. When his band Benny & The Jets hit the stage, it became a thing of beauty. The vehicles they arrived in were the bulletin boards and provided another layer of exposure.    With all his back knowledge of not only the scene, but how it was formulated, Benny is one of Michigan's foremost musicologists of rock, particularly on how the history of it all came together. Here in part 2, Benny dives into backing other artists such as Freddie 'Boom Boom' Cannon and Bo Diddley, he discusses stolen equipment and getting featured in the Detroit News, he crosses paths with Madonna, Question Mark, Eddie Money AND Ronnie Spector and so much more. With warfare seemingly creeping up on us – because governments keep starting them – it seemed like a good idea to speak to Ed Wall, Professor of Cities and Landscapes at the University of Greenwich, about his book Architecture for Warfare: How Corporations Profit from Destruction and Reconstruction, published by Jovis in December last year. It's difficult to know what to say about this, beyond what Professor Wall describes in the book: there is a seam of architectural practice which makes the infrastructure of war and reconstruction, and makes a good deal of good business whilst doing it. Isn't it better, one might ask, that architects, with their designerly imaginations, their theories and lovely drafting skills, and their spatial-technical and ecological competencies, are involved in this sort of stuff? At least then it'll have passive ventilation.Jeremy Bentham – not an architect – drew the panopticon in the Eighteenth Century and in so doing arguably more-or-less defined the modernist city. The great Alfred - Waterhouse designed Strangeways in the 19th, and that's pretty lit. Then there was Speer, of course, in the Twentieth. So the connection isn't new. It still feels odd, though, as Ed explains…Ed can be found at work, on Instagram and LinkedIn. The book is linked above.+Music credits: Bruno Gillick  #ArchitectureForWarfare #DesignEthics #UrbanReconstruction

Benny's stories and continuing care of the curation of it, has him front and center telling everyone within ear shot. You can't get this gentleman to stop spreading the word, like a great musician. Benny is the originator. Turn it up and check out his Facebook feed! facebook.com/benny.jets.detroit

In this episode of The Behavioral View, Nissa Van Etten, Olivia Teal, Elizabeth Barajas, and Yagnesh Vadgama discuss the evolution of outcomes-based care within applied behavior analysis (ABA). Drawing from extensive experience in both clinical practice and payer systems, Vadgama outlines the differences between traditional fee-for-service models and outcomes-based care frameworks. The panel explores how standardized assessments, aggregate data analysis, and empirically supported dosing recommendations can create greater alignment between providers and payers while maintaining individualized clinical decision-making. The discussion addresses administrative burden, prior authorization processes, value-based payment arrangements, caregiver involvement, social determinants of health, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Emphasis is placed on transparency, data-driven decision making, and protecting the integrity of behavior analytic practice while demonstrating measurable outcomes at both the individual and population levels. This course provides practical insight into how outcomes-based care models may shape the future of ABA service delivery. In this episode, Matt speaks with Sean Speer about the rise of the so-called “New Right” and the growing tension between conservatism and classical liberalism. Speer defends a fusionist vision rooted in ordered liberty, pluralism, and institutional restraint, arguing that attempts to use state power to impose cultural outcomes misunderstand how culture actually evolves. Together, they explore elite anxiety, civil society, immigration, and why liberal means remain essential even for those with conservative ends. Hey friends, and welcome back to Help Me Abide.Today, I have the joy and honor of welcoming someone truly special. A personal friend, a woman I deeply admire, and a true hero of the faith, Mrs. Elizabeth Speer.Elizabeth and her husband Ted Speer have served as missionaries in Ghana, West Africa, for the past 16 years. Together, they've poured their lives into the work of the Gospel, and the fruit of their labor is truly remarkable.Through their ministry, over 50 churches have been started, either directly or indirectly. Their main church averages around 700 people every Sunday, not counting daughter churches. Their Bible college, Hyles-Anderson College of West Africa, has graduated 87 students. The Christian school my husband Brett helped launch, the Fundamental Baptist Academy, has 445 students enrolled this school year. Every August, their Pastors' and Workers' Conference draws hundreds from across West Africa, and they currently have over 70 team members on payroll. These statistics are just the tip of the iceberg in relating the incredible ministry the Lord has built through their faithful service. But Elizabeth's impact goes far beyond numbers. She is a woman who has faithfully embraced the priorities of each season God has led her through. Do you ever find yourself hustling for your worth or looking for it in all the wrong places? You are not alone. Too many girls and women are lost and wandering, endlessly seeking security and approval in places and things that never satisfy. In this episode, Brittany Maher, Cassandra Speer, and Allie Smith talk about how our value doesn't rise and fall with opinions or performance — it's anchored in the unshakable truth of Jesus. We pray that you will be encouraged and equipped to live with unshakable confidence in who God says you are and stop measuring your worth by the world's ever-changing metric system.   Episode Topics: Knowing your value in Christ changes everything. True worth is found in God's word, not in worldly standards. We often attach our identities to counterfeit measures. The journey to discovering true worth is ongoing. Confronting the lies you have believed is essential to embracing our true identity. People-pleasing can lead to a cycle of seeking approval in areas where we weren't meant to. We must identify and pull the weeds in our lives to walk in our true worth and calling. Our past mistakes do not determine our worth. Living securely in our identity in Christ allows us to fulfill the purpose God created us for.   Episode Chapters: 00:00 Empowering Women Through Identity in Christ 02:53 The Journey to Discovering True Worth 06:02 Understanding Our Identity in Christ 08:55 Confronting Lies and Embracing Truth 11:39 The Battle Against Counterfeit Identities 14:41 The Impact of People-Pleasing 17:46 Practical Steps to Embrace True Worth 20:40 The Freedom Framework for Transformation 23:46 Words of Wisdom for Our Younger Selves   Important Links: Brittany + Cassandra's book "Her True Worth" Visit our website: https://wonderfullymade.org/  Get our Free Guide:  "15 Social Media Boundaries to Protect Your Joy" Get Allie's newest book “Social Media Reset” Get Allie's book “Wonderfully Made” Join our Love Her A'Latte Campaign — help make our podcast possible Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok Visit our website: https://wonderfullymade.org/

Send us a textThe Ancient Faith - Caleb SpeerI therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (Ephesians 4:1–6, ESV)We are called to be unified as one. We must also be one with God. We are to reflect his image from ourselves and choices. This oneness is what unites us in Christ and God. We are called to be unified in Christ. We must strive for it. We are one because Christ died on the cross, not because we agree on something. Unity does not equal uniformity. Though diversity is essential, this is by design with God. Though at first it may seem to be divisive, the Ephesian and Roman letters were written to illustrate this. What was designed by God is this Ancient faith. It provides us a family for us to strive together. Because it isn't new, we must go back to the foundations of the church that Christ established. What is the result? We invite you to the community striving for unity while the world is out to divide us. Fighting for unity makes us holy and bears the fruit of the Spirit. We have to consider giving up some of our personal wants in order to unify. Christ is what unifies us regardless of race, culture, tradition, locale, or nationality. =====Searching for answers to life's questions? Need help finding a church? Drop us a line. Watch the best scene reading: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GncsGI4_L3o Get to know the screenwriter: What is your screenplay about? Bitter is a belated coming of age story for anyone that feels like the paradigm of success has shifted. It takes the traditional geek vs bully high school sub-genre and basically turns it on its ass, focusing on WILLOW, a once-hopeful two-time valedictorian, slated for success. Now, 10 years later, she's a bitter waitress, struggling with resentment and unmet potential, all while PARKER, her high school bully, lives the good life as a prominent influencer. What genres does your screenplay fall under? Bitter is definitely a comedy. When developing this story, it felt necessary to look through a humorous lens. The plot tackles a lot of socially-relevant themes and issues we all deal with on a daily basis: comparison culture, scam-influencers, toxic personalities—things that can absolutely consume a person. So, I thought it was important to craft the story and its characters from a place of comedy. I wanted to avoid the perception of whining or lecturing, and write a story that has something to say, but also has audience wanting to listen because they're getting to laugh along the way. Why should this screenplay be made into a movie? Movies have changed drastically over the last decade—some changes good, some bad, but I think a gap has been created for some of the sillier, more light-hearted comedies that can still pack a punch—that have something to say, but do it in a way to invites, not divides. I think Bitter recaptures this approach, in line with early-2000's movies like Mean Girls, Bruce Almighty, Miss Congeniality. The themes are there. The lessons are there. But so is the fun.
