The Tenpenny Files – Bob Sjogren challenges believers to confront self-centered Christianity through Cat and Dog Theology, exposing how prayer, worship, parenting, and church life can quietly revolve around personal comfort instead of God's glory. His message calls Christians to examine motive, surrender deeply, and rediscover faith rooted in honoring the Master above all...
A Study of Romans 12:3 Romans 12 challenges us to place our entire lives on God's altar rather than going the route of conformity to the world. No one wants to be confined to a box, and yet the world offers all sorts of invisible boxes that keep us from living life in the grace and power of Christ. This series, verse by verse through Romans 12, leads you to break out of the world's box into the freedom God created you to live.

Something To Think About Series #360 Thought of the day from Venerable Robina Courtin
The message emphasizes Christ-centered worship, calling believers to move away from self-focused, preference-based worship to being fully satisfied in Jesus and His cross. True worship isn't about style, feelings, or personal benefit, but about honoring God regardless of circumstances. Using examples like Mary's sacrificial offering versus Saul and Ananias & Sapphira's self-driven actions, the speaker shows that God values heart posture over outward acts. Worship rooted in love and surrender is accepted; worship driven by pride, image, or gain is not. The challenge is to examine our hearts, let go of preferences and self-focus, and become deeply satisfied in what Christ has done. When we truly grasp the cross, worship becomes a natural response in every part of life.

We are finishing up our sermon series called Game Plan where we talk about what does it look like for 2026 to be a year completely focused on the Kingdom of God. Instead of talking about what we need to do this year, in the final week we talk about what do we need to leave behind in 2025.
Self-centered wisdom promises independence but ultimately produces isolation. Proverbs 18:1-2 exposes the danger of a heart that withdraws from others, not to grow in understanding, but to protect its own opinions. The person who separates himself resists counsel and pursues personal desire, mistaking stubbornness for discernment. Rather than listening and learning, the fool delights in airing his own views, valuing self-expression over truth. God's wisdom, however, is marked by humility and teachability, calling His people to remain open to correction and anchored in community rather than retreating into self-made understanding.
WELCOME to Talk 3 of our Feast Talk series MESSY SAINTS. In this series, we talk about the five troubles of the little church in Corinth. So far, we've tackled the first two: In Talk 1, Division, and in Talk 2, Sexual Sin. Talk 3 delves into the third one: Food offered to idols. In Corinth, people worshipped gods. And they would offer animal sacrifices to them regularly. The people were divided on the issue of whether to eat meat sacrificed to idols. The apostle Paul advised that instead of being divided over the issue of who's right, the people should work on how to strengthen their relationships. Talk 3, titled Correct But Still Self-Centered, focuses on the key message, “Others First.”
On this episode of This vs. That, we explore one of the most important yet often misunderstood aspects of Christian marriage: sex. We sit down with Scott Mehl, pastor of Cornerstone Church of West LA and author of Redeeming Sex and Marriage, to discuss the difference between self-centered sex and God-centered sex.We tackle questions like: What is God's design for sex and marriage? Why does physical intimacy get complicated even in the best of marriages? And what is the larger story that sex is telling?Scott shares from his own journey—the confusion he and his wife Lauren experienced early in their marriage, and how that led him to search for what God actually says about this sensitive topic. We discuss the five purposes of sex, including how it serves as an expression of the relationship between Christ and the church. We also address the practical side: how selfishness shows up in the bedroom, why viewing sex as a "need" can be problematic, and how the gospel speaks directly to our sexual brokenness.Throughout our conversation, we emphasize that God-centered sex is ultimately spouse-focused sex—a reflection of selfless love that points us to something greater.----For more information about Anchored Virtual, visit anchoredvirtual.com

Mike Harrelson - July 27th 2025 Church isn't about showing up — it's a body that's growing up. In this pastoral message from Ephesians 4:1–16, we're reminded that spiritual maturity doesn't happen in isolation. Jesus gives diverse gifts to His people for the building up of the body—until we grow into His likeness together. This teaching invites each of us to step into our part—not passively, but with purpose—pursuing unity, humility, and love as we grow into the fullness of Christ. Today, we sit down with author and apologist Natasha Crain to discuss her new book, "When Culture Hates You: Persevering for the Common Good as Christians in a Hostile Public Square," and how Christians need to equip themselves to answer whatever questions culture hurls at them. We discuss how parents need to be more active in discipling their children to prepare them for the modern culture. We also ask the question of what having a biblical worldview actually means, and Natasha gives us some insight on how Christians can uphold their biblical principles in an increasingly hostile public square.
