The episode brings Sir Patrick Sanders, a British military officer, back to discuss geopolitical issues, specifically focusing on the precarious state of global affairs today compared to the 1930s. The conversation delves into the complexities surrounding Donald Trump's foreign policy perceptions, especially his outlook on Russia and Ukraine. This episode was recorded in Norway at the Grieg Conference, organized by Grieg Investor. They're an independent investment adviser for institutional investors in Norway representing over 170 clients, and part of the Grieg Group. Sir Patrick elaborates on Trump's stance towards Russia, emphasizing Trump's unpredictable yet impactful actions, such as his claim of ending the Ukrainian war swiftly—a stance deemed as 'magical realism.' Furthermore, the dialogue explores Trump's potential impact on Middle Eastern politics, highlighting challenges like balancing Israeli interests and Iran's geopolitical maneuvers without igniting broader conflicts. As the conversation transitions, China's influence and the West's strategy against a backdrop of escalating global competition are scrutinized, touching upon key ideologies in play. The podcast episode draws attention to urgent strategic choices required by Western nations, navigating the significant challenges posed by the geopolitical landscape amidst technological advances. Insights on investment implications arising from these geopolitical tensions, such as defense and AI sectors, are also discussed by Sir Patrick and Simon.

In this episode we have the huge pleasure and privilege to talk to General Sir Patrick Sanders, who until June of this year served as Chief of the General Staff. As the professional head of the British Army he had responsibility for over 100,000 troops (including reserves), steering this key component of the UK's defence apparatus through an increasingly fractured world. The mission in this interview is to orchestrate a rapid and highly effective tour of the key challenges on the minds of politicians, populations and the planet. Patrick discusses Russia and assessing what next, China and how a peaceful co-existence can operate, as well as Iran, Israel & The Middle East; weighing up if a brighter future here is possible. He then covers North Korea and its unpredictability, as it moves from defense to offense. The General goes on to enlighten us on cyber threats, AI's role on the battlefield, leadership & motivation, before answering some challenging questions from his peers and (possible) friends! General Sanders joins a wider squadron of Money Maze Podcast geopolitics speakers, such as General Petraeus, General Sir Nick Carter & Lieutenant General Sir Tom Beckett! General Sir Patrick Sanders has served in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, Bosnia and Northern Ireland, rising through the ranks from Infantry Officer to Head of the Army. It's not a position he expected to reach and says "my first sergeant would never have seen this coming".He's spoken candidly about experiencing depression following a tour in Iraq, having lost a number of his own infantry regiment, encouraging others to seek help. Most recently General Sanders has ignited debate about the size of the army, suggesting that the "pre-war generation" should be prepared for the possibility of a potential land war, stating "Ukraine brutally illustrates that regular armies start wars; citizen armies win them."As he prepares to leave the post of Chief of the General Staff (CGS), Mark Coles looks at the life and career of General Sir Patrick Sanders, speaking to some of the family, friends and colleagues who know him best.Credits The Benedictine Monks of Worth Abbey Centre For Army Leadership Podcast British Army Time to Talk BFBS Sitrep Podcast GB NewsPresenter: Mark Coles Production: Ellie House and Diane Richardson Production Co-ordinators: Sabine Schereck and Maria Ogundele Sound: Neil Churchill Editors: Richard Vadon and Matt Willis

In 1958, Sir Patrick Hine was part of a team of elite RAF pilots, the Black Arrows, who broke the world record for an aerobatic display manoeuvre that has never been equalled - and might never be. The Black Arrows performed a 22-plane loop twice in front of a euphoric Farnborough Air Show crowd. Sir Patrick later became Air Chief Marshal of the RAF and Joint Command of the British Forces in the 1990 Gulf War, but looks back at that 1958 feat with great pride and considers it one of his proudest career moments.Head over to https://www.battingthebreeze.com/twenty-two-black-arrows to see actual footage of the 1958 world record-breaking 22-plane loop by the Black Arrows! All audio extracts of the Black Arrows Hawker Hunters in the episode are from a live recording captured in a wonderful film named "The Story of the Black Arrows" provided courtesy of Ian Stark at VIT Media. We love receiving your feedback - head over to https://www.battingthebreeze.com/contact/ Thanks for listening!
What can our approach to tackling the Covid pandemic teach us about how we should address the climate crisis? In this first episode, we ask how innovation can be catalysed in the face of an urgent, global problem. It normally takes over a decade to create a vaccine, but during the Covid-19 pandemic, multiple vaccines were available in a matter of months. How did this remarkable achievement happen? In this episode, Nina and Simon are joined by Sir Patrick Vallance, former Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Government, to discuss the seven lessons we should learn from the Covid crisis about how to create the right conditions for urgent innovation to prevent dangerous climate change.

Astronomer Sir Patrick Moore has revealed he still hates the Germans, seven decades after his beloved fiancée was killed in a bombing raid. The 89-year-old has warned there "may be another war" and added "the only good Kraut is a dead Kraut" as he disclosed his thoughts on Europe, Sky at Night and his late love. Saying a German general once told him "You won two wars. You won't win the third." Sir Patrick admitted he hoped the prediction, which referred to an 'economic war' would be proved wrong. "We must take care," he told the Radio Times. "There may be another war. The Germans will try again, given another chance. A Kraut is a Kraut is a Kraut. "The Germans tried to conquer us. The French betrayed us. The Belgians did very little and the Italians made us our ice cream. "The English are best. Stand up for England!" Sir Patrick, who suffers from a spinal injury sustained in the war which flared up a decade ago, also insisted he would keep a promise to his Group Captain to never speak of his battle record and maintained his history would remain a secret. It is rumoured he performed remarkable heroics as a young Flight Lieutenant, with a distinguished career in intelligence, all as yet unconfirmed by Sir Patrick himself. But, he added, he had a "rather interesting war" after "fiddling" his age and medical records to become an officer at 17. - www.genesisgrid.co.uk

“The whole area is going to be crucial for everything from monitoring waste, you can think about its use in monitoring biodiversity, such a key area for the future. You can think about the impact of the environment and on the changes in species across the world over time. This is going to be a ubiquitous area of societal discussion.” In this week's episode of The G Word, our CEO Chris Wigley is joined by Sir Patrick Vallance, the Government's Chief Scientific Adviser and the Head of Government Science and Engineering. They discuss Sir Patrick Vallance's role and work in the government, the areas that genomics is starting to touch on beyond healthcare and the use of genomic data. They also discuss the role of legislation and societal dialogue, they touched on the impact of the pandemic and how genomic sequencing is crucial to understand the spread of COVID-19. Maybe if Ian had a better understanding of transference or cognitive dissonance he could have helped Sir Patrick reach a breakthrough. But that is not what happens... Oh and as an unrelated aside, you can check out comedian Vince White on the podcast Kame House Party, @kamehouseparty on Instagram. On KHP, hosts Aaron Shelton and Vince cover every episode of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z with witty banter and hilarious improvisation along the way. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/sigmund-fraud/support

- www.genesisgrid.co.ukNow listen to all our XZBN shows, with our compliments go to: https://www.spreaker.com/user/xzoneradiotv or www.xzoneuniverse.com *** AND NOW ***The ‘X' Zone TV Channel on SimulTV - www.simultv.comThe ‘X' Zone TV Channel Radio Feed (Free - No Subscription Required) - https://www.spreaker.com/show/xztv-the-x-zone-tv-show-audio The ‘X' Chronicles Newspaper - www.xchroniclesnewspaper.com (Free)To contact Rob McConnell - misterx@xzoneradiotv.com

On July 24, the global planetary event was held - an international online conference entitled "Global Crisis. This Already Affects Everyone", which was simultaneously interpreted into 72 languages. During the conference, Sir Patrick Bijou, UN Ambassador for World Peace, Senior Banking Redemption Judge for the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC), investment banker, fund manager, published author, addressed all inhabitants of Planet Earth. In his speech, he shared information about the current situation in international refugee law. The UN ambassador expressed concern that people who need help today due to climate disasters and economic crises cannot get it because countries are isolated in order to preserve their own security. In his view, the only way out in this critical situation is to inform and unite people in order to build a Creative Society. Only changing the current consumer format into the Creative one will create the conditions for the preservation of life on our planet and provide a decent, happy future for us and our children!
