Policing Australia: The Official Podcast of the Australian Police Journal
In the latest podcast from the APJ, hear from two detectives involved in a missing person case which soon became a homicide investigation, and an investigation into criminal drug dealing. Allecha Boyd was reported missing to police in mid-2017. Inquiries suggested the involvement of a local drug dealer and his associates. Detective Sergeants Brent Fletcher and Tim Briggs talk about how police were able to build briefs of evidence sufficient to obtain convictions for murder and associated offences, despite being unable to locate Allecha's body. Police continued to investigate avenues of inquiry after the court cases concluded, to locate Allecha's remains. Their persistence eventually succeeded, which enabled Allecha's family to attain a sense of closure. The article titled Cold Blooded Murder is in the June 2023 edition of the APJ, which can be read at www.apjl.com.auHost: Jason Byrnes APMGuests: Detective Sergeants Brent Fletcher and Tim Briggs

(00:00-09:00): “Jimmy Carter tells church service he is 'absolutely and completely at ease' with death”. Brian touches on the career and humanitarian work of the former President and how God’s not done with him. How Carter is handling life is how we should, as Paul writes in Philippians “The live is Christ, and to die is gain”. (09:00-17:59): MY PILLOW READ. Kate Shellnut in Christianity Today writes “Harvest Elders Say James MacDonald Is ‘Biblically Disqualified’ From Ministry”. Brian talks about the difference of being disqualified from leadership and ministry. There needs to be an attitude change in order to redeem your leadership permission. (17:59-27:50): We are joined by author of “CityServe: Your Guide to Church-Based Compassion”, Dave Donaldson. Dave shares his amazing testimony of loss and compassion. He takes his story and translates compassion into serving the community, not just the church. (27:50-35:52): Brian talks about one of his favorite films, The Shawshank Redemption, and the preaching properties of it. There is an aspect of hope from captivity/prison that the film parallels, and Tim Briggs goes into detail in The Gospel Coalition. Also, on another note, the US Postal Services is expected to return 1.9 million packages this year. (35:52-1:05:47): Director of the C.S. Lewis Institution of Chicago, KJ Johnson joins the show with Brian. He touches on the purpose and mission of the CSLI and how they equip people to be like Lewis, rather than just fans of him. Johnson talks briefly about discipleship and the lack thereof in the church, and shares his experiences in the military. How has the armed forces shaped his view of discipline and humility? (1:05:47-1:12:28): Brian and Ian’s “Weird Stuff We Found on the Internet”: Apparently, the military keeps secrets about aliens, and brain-eating worms are living in your head. Imagine coming in second place to a dead guy, and the UK are beginning to implement exploding ATMs. Meanwhile, a Nebraska man doesn’t have any common sense...or does he?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this livestream, we are battling a bad storm system coming in. But we were able to talk with 3 people. Jesse, Meghan, and former podcast guest Bradly Tucker. Everyone has their reasons on why they chose this industry, what motivates them, and what keeps them going. We actually had a 4th person, Tim Briggs from Collision Edge, but power flickering last night lost that part of the interview on the card. Tim Briggs was first elected to the Pennsylvania State House in 2008, but he got his start in politics over a decade earlier. In this episode of the You Should Run Podcast, Tim talks about how easy it was to first get involved in politics, what convinced him to run for a seat in the state legislature, the issues that continue to motivate him, and how young people have helped to drive his agenda with fresh ideas. Listen and subscribe and share as Tim Briggs discusses his background and, of course, why YOU should consider running for office.

My guest, Tim Briggs, is a pastor in North Carolina who decided to gather other songwriters and musicians to help him record a collection of songs that he had on his heart. He felt his own limitations as a musician would hinder his dreams of bringing these songs to life but he and the artists worked together as a collective to create what has become the album, Folk Hymnal. I talk with Tim about what this process was like, how a communal project like this has shaped his faith, and how sometimes we need to be the biggest risk takers of all because our identity is secure in our relationship with Christ. You can find the music on all digital platforms including iTunes and Spotify https://fanlink.to/folkhymnal You can also find two lyric videos to the songs here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgxAcw9T4_Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GblIT7tTzY
In this episode guys, I sat down in person at the NACE show in Atlanta a few weeks ago with a couple of folks from Single Source and NCS. One you already know and is a Boothtalk alum, and we get a in depth look at just some of the things that they do to help track materials and cover issues that may arise before they ever do. Find out why they put so much work and effort into growing the company and how they focus on things. Thanks again to Tim Briggs, Tim Carmack, Sean Lapham, and all the folks at Single Source/NCS for this interview to happen at the show. Be sure to hit the subscribe button and share it with your refinish family. Check out the livestream every WEDNESDAY and SATURDAY nights on Instagram @Boothtalk, at 8pm EST.
A fond welcome back to UK CrossFit coaches, nutrionists & athletes, Jordan Wallace, Paul Warrior and Tim Briggs. This week, I wanted to dissect their views on mindset in sport. An athlete's performance in CrossFit, Powerlifting, Endurance Racing and many pursuits is heavily mediated by their mental game, but can you teach it? Or is mental toughness an innate skill you either have or you don't? As usual we got distracted and wildly careered off-topic. Expect to hear some very contrasting views on mindset for sports, their frank & honest feedback after the 2018 CrossFit Regionals, and what their opinions are on Adam Collard's performance on Love Island. This week I'm sitting down with CrossFit coaches, athletes, programmers, nutritionists and all round good guys Jordan Wallace, Paul Warrior and Tim Briggs. I absolutely loved recording this, despite being behind one of the UK's top CrossFit Programming Companies, the guys do not take themselves too seriously and it really shows in one of the funniest episodes so far. Expect to learn the key differences between good and great athletes, how your body type can be used to play to your strengths in fitness and how to get blood and semen out of joggers.
