US State Department to Ukraine & Russia: US Will Not Be Mediators If Progress Not Made.  US State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce told reporters Thursday that Kyiv and Moscow need to engage directly with each other and that the US will no longer “fly around the world at the drop of a hat to mediate meetings.”  US Secretary of State Rubio, said that unless a “real breakthrough” is made soon, President Trump “is going to have to make a decision about how much more time we're going to dedicate to this.” 6. UK RAF Collaborative Drone Effort.  The first autonomous collaborative platform (ACP) drone, labelled StormShroud, entered into service into the UK Royal Air Force.  The new StormShroud aircraft combines the UK-Portuguese Tekever 3 tactical uncrewed aerial system (UAS) with Leonardo UK's BriteStorm stand-in jammer, effectively transforming it into an ACP, to work in tandem with RAF fighter jets. 7. USAF Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) Effort. USAF announced it has selected Beale Air Force Base in California to host the service's first “Aircraft Readiness Unit” dedicated to its future fleet of drone wingmen. General Atomics and Anduril are facing off for the Air Force program after their selection last year. USAF expects to field CCA by 2030.8.  Acting Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Kilby to USMC: We owe you a three-ship ARG [Amphibious Ready Group]. I owe you a three-ship ARG that's ready to embark Marines and conduct the training cycle and deploy on schedule. I do not meet that requirement.”  The Amphibious Ready Group is the USMC three-ship formation generally consisting of an assault ship (LHA), a transport dock (LPD) and a support vessel (LSD). USMC goal is to maintain what's known as a 3.0 presence: That means one ARG deployed from the East Coast to the Mediterranean or coast of Africa; one from the West Coast to the Pacific and a third “episodically” deployed forward from Japan.

Pengkhotbah 1: 2-11; Mazmur tg 90: 3-6.12-14.17; Lukas 9: 7-9 KERESAHAN SUPAYA CEPAT BERLALU   Tema renungan kita pada hari ini ialah: Keresahan Supaya Cepat Berlalu. Resah merupakan satu keadaan jiwa yang mirip situasinya dengan gelisah, cemas, tak nyaman, takut dan kuatir. Jelas bahwa keadaan jiwa ini tidak positif. Keresahan adalah lawan dari rasa semangat, optimis, senang, bangga, ceria dan beruntung. Pada dasarnya kita ingin supaya keadaan resah dalam diri kita sendiri, keluarga, Gereja dan masyarakat biar cepat berlalu pergi.   Mungkin banyak di antara kita ketika membaca bagian awal kitab Pengkhotbah tentang kesia-siaan dalam segala sesuatu, perasaan takut dan resah timbul secara spontan. Ada seorang siswa SMA setelah membaca sendiri perikop ini, ia langsung mengeluh kepada orang tuanya begini: "Lha, terus untuk apa kita hidup di dunia ini?" Raja Herodes juga resah karena ia mengetahui bahwa Yohanes Pembaptis yang telah ia bunuh, hidup kembali. Ia menjadi resah dan gelisah, dan mengira bahwa Yesus dari Nazaret itu ialah Yohanes Pembaptis yang bangkit.   Dua contoh keresahan dari bacaan-bacaan hari ini bersumber pada kesalahan atau dosa kita sendiri. Keresahan dan gelisah jenis ini tumbuh melalui suatu pengetahuan dan kesadaran akan diri sendiri. Seseorang mengetahui sendiri kelemahan dan dosanya dengan bantuan terang Ilahi, dan menyesalinya, kemudian ada jalan baginya untuk pembaruan. Langkah pembaruan itu sedapat mungkin tidak hanya menghilangkan keresahan, tetapi juga menciptakan atau menghadirkan sesuatu yang baru. Para pendengar kitab Pengkhotbah akan semakin memperkuat imannya kepada Tuhan, atau Herodes memang dituntut untuk  melihat Yesus yang sesungguhnya.   Ada jenis keresahan lain yang lebih berat. Keresahan itu ialah ketika teman dan saudara kita menjadi resah karena kelemahan, kekurangan dan dosa kita. Ini adalah berat karena mereka resah dan semakin resah namun kita sendiri tidak pernah menyadari atau mengetahuinya. Dengan kata lain kita tidak peduli dan tetap saja sengaja berbuat kesalahan dan dosa. Yang lebih berbahaya lagi, yaitu  kalau kesengajaan tersebut membahayakan jiwa kita sendiri, jiwa orang lain dan merusak hajat hidup orang banyak.   Keresahan-keresahan tersebut dapat cepat berlalu pergi hanya kalau setiap orang setia dan mau hidup secara adil dan benar. Mengikuti Tuhan dengan selalu dibimbing oleh firman-Nya merupakan pilihan terbaik di dalam hidup ini. Hidup kita memang harus berkenan kepada Tuhan saja, demikian mazmur tanggapan hari ini. Jadi kita tidak hanya ingin mengetahui tentang Yesus seperti Herodes, tetapi kita ingin mengikuti Dia, yaitu melakukan kehendak Bapa di Surga. Marilah kita berdoa. Dalam nama Bapa... Allah Bapa di surga, dengan selalu meneladani Yesus Kristus Putra-Mu dan Tuhan kami, kami ingin mengosongkan diri kami dengan mengasihi-Mu, maka penuhilah kami ya Bapa. Kemuliaan... Dalam nama Bapa...

Sadly, the damage that causes wrinkles brown spots, age spots, and sagging jowls occurs years before the damage shows on your face!  At age 40 I woke up, looked in the mirror and realized what I had been doing to my skin with baby oil and iodine plus 8 hours of sun a day, every summer, without sunscreen and moisturizer for the 30 years before and I realized I had to do something to reverse that process. I then began my study of skin, skin damage and how to heal it! I still and studying the new advances in skin care, nutrition for skin, and skin-care products. But why is our skin so important? I have two answers, one as a doctor and another as an esthetic specialist.   My “doctor answer” is that our skin is the largest organ in the human body, and it provides many benefits for us.  The skin not only protects the more delicate organs of the body, but the skin excretes toxins for us from sweat glands, it cools us with perspiration, and protects our muscles and internal organs from trauma and the sun's rays.  Our skin also protects us from cold with hair that grows on our head and body. The condition of the skin also acts as a reflection of our health.  It is possible to look in the mirror and determine if you are healthy or not.  The skin is also a window for others to judge our general health.  This is a double-edged sword.  It helps us self-diagnose medical problems or at least determine that something is wrong so we can make changes to our lifestyle or seek medical attention.  Our skin also reflects fatigue (dark circles under our eyes, sallow color and lack of glow or shine), BUT it also allows others to discover our age, health status and whether we have cared for our skin or not!  Our skin is a window to our internal health, so if you want to appear rested, healthy, and desirable, then you MUST take care of your skin! I am not saying that nonphysicians consciously look at you and say to themselves, “that person's skin looks sick”, but the condition of your skin determines unconscious judgements of the state of your health.   It is for this unconscious knowledge that we have about the appearance of our skin, that drives women to seek out ways to make their skin beautiful and young.   When we notice signs of aging, fatigue, and over-indulgence in our own skin we should take action if we want to reflect the impression of health and youth. Very perceptive people can tell what our age is by looking at our skin….that is why women spend time trying to fool them by improving the natural condition of our skin!  Our instinct to be and feel young motivates us to seek help.   No one wants to look their age!  Everyday Instagram and Facebook show ads that say…”Buy this and you will look #—- years younger” are barraging us. Those advertisers know our instinctive drive to turn back the clock and they use it to sell…but in general those “one answer ad campaigns” help the seller make money but won't do a thing for your skin….Don't be sucked into their sales job. If you are over 40 you will require a multipronged approach to get your youthful skin back. This process requires a change in your routine, your lifestyle….the very hardest thing for humans to achieve! As a doctor one of my observational skills that helps me diagnose patients before I even interview them Is my  first impression of their face and skin—if the color of their skin is dusky,  they probably don't have good blood flow (atherosclerosis, alcohol consumption or illnesses like Diabetes) and if the texture of their skin is thick and “piled up” I know they have poor skin care habits and often are not healthy.  I also look at the creases or wrinkles as well as brown spots that give away a patient's age and sun damage history.  There are many more signs of illness that I look for, but skin is like having Hercule Poirot (famous detective) sitting next to me whispering in my ear.” For non-doctors the appearance of your skin gives strangers an impression of your age, and how healthier you are.  Think of speed dating….you  are introduced to Mr. Right and he immediately is not interested.  He doesn't even care to talk to you.  His instincts say to him that you are not healthy and that you are older than you say you are, because of the condition of your skin.  The same thing can happen at job interviews….you don't want to look sick and old when you are going for a job.  No one even consciously knows they are judging you…they just know instinctively get the message that you aren't a candidate for whatever you are trying out for because of perceived old age and poor health….it is an unconscious reason for not choosing you! So why not consider the simple steps it will take to transform your skin, and yourself, from looking old and sick to young and healthy?  To get great skin, we must BE HEALTHY, in other words we must develop healthy habits as well as give our skin the attention and care it needs.  Here is a list of what is required to heal you skin and begin to look younger and healthier. DIET: whole foods, with a lot of water and fresh vegetables and fruit. No fast or processed food. SUPPLEMENTATION: Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Biotin, Methyl Vitamin B12 and methyl Folate DAILY EXERCISE: Gives your skin a glow with healthy oils and perspiration. REPLACE HORMONES THAT ARE MISSING: Whole body Testosterone (pellets), Estradiol, Thyroid if it is deficient CLEAN AND PROTECT YOUR SKIN: Treatment of the skin itself by washing and exfoliating dead skin off the surface twice daily, using serums specifically for the aging problem that bothers you most, and Moisturizers to keep the skin hydrated. Ok. so you think, you can do this, but here is the kicker—you also need to make harder lifestyle changes, and stop your bad habits: Stop Smoking Stop Drinking more than 4 oz of wine /night Stop fast food Get 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Now I hear the typical negative response coming through the computer…as if I am spoiling your party…I KNOW you don't want to change your habits….or stop excessive drinking, smoking, and staying out late, so you are already finding excuses why this obvious, simple answer  won't work for you!  If that is you, then stop worrying about your skin, because it won't be any better than it is today….and it will get WORSE with age! But if you will spend an extra 7-10 minutes a day on the health of your skin and you realize that it is time you clean up your act, then continue to listen to the things that you should do to have a beautiful body covered with glowing skin!  A little work and change of habits will get lots of compliments and people may ask you how you got beautiful skin!  The “happy” side-effect of taking care of your skin is that you are concurrently building a healthier body that will live longer without disease. The above changes are a start but protecting and feeding your skin is important too! In the list below I will share what products and   I use, but I have skin concerns that you might not have (I'm 69 and had a lot of sun damage as a teenager). These are examples, however if you are serious about having beautiful young and glowing skin, then using the medical grade skin products (those bought at your spa or dermatologist) are the most effective. Internal Nutrition for Your Skin (Diet)—Whole food diet (lean meat, eggs, fruit and vegetables every day!) + Supplements to give you what you are missing in your diet, in higher doses Stop Bad Habits (see above) and exercise every day Cleansing skin that is exposed to sun, lack of humidity, and air pollution requires daily cleansing and humectants. Cleaning off your makeup from your face, neck and decollate (Face Wash= e.g. Glycolic Renewal- Skinceuticals) twice a day Topical Nutrition (Serums) Skinceuticals e.g. CE Ferrulic, hyaluronic acid (Skinceuticals HA Intensifier) and other serums that feed your skin from the outside. Protect Your Skin from Dehydration (Moisturizers), and drink plenty of water especially in the winter when the heat is on to replenish the moisture to your skin from the inside. My moisturizer is usually Triple Lipid Moisturizer from Skinceuticals®, but AGE Interupter Moisturizer is my favorite during the winter or when I am vacationing in cold or dry climates, because it holds skin moisture in the best. Intermittently I use Defenage Serum and Moisturizer Professional products when I want to take a break and expose my skin to alternative treatment (this makes both types of products more effective). Protect your skin from damaging radiation from the sun (Sunscreen). You should wear sunscreen every day! In Missouri it is winter longer than summer (or so it seems), but until I found the ColorScience tinted sunscreen, I forgot my sunscreen all the time. This sunscreen is easier to remember because it is part of my makeup the I apply daily. It is a combination moisturizer, sunscreen, and foundation, I rarely wore sunscreen in the fall and winter before I found this product…not now! Daily exercise to bring blood flow to your skin, brings healthy oil and blood to the surface of the skin and releases toxins through sweating. Taking care of your skin at home is fairly simple and for the most part can be integrated into your daily routine.   Here are the basic skin care steps: Step #1 Cleansing your skin in the AM and before bed when you with a non-drying face wash. Seringkali kita sebagai anak-anak Tuhan berpikir negatif terhadap apa yang Tuhan lakukan untuk kita. Sehingga itu menyebabkan kita ngambek bahkan marah kepada Tuhan. Tidak jarang pula akhirnya kita berusaha lari dan mencari kepuasan sendiri. Namun, mari kita renungkan seberapa besar berkat yang sudah Tuhan berikan kepada kita, baik itu berkat secara jasmani ataupun rohani. Belajarlah bersyukur atas semua yang sudah kita terima dari Tuhan, karena rancangan yang Tuhan berikan adalah rancangan yang indah yang memberikan sukacita dan damai sejahtera. Bila saat ini, kita mungkin sedang mengalami kejadian-kejadian yang di luar keinginan kita, jangan cepat-cepat kecewa sama Tuhan. In this episode of Listen Up Landlords, presenter Richard Blanco (@richardblanco_)  discusses NRLA calls to reverse the decision to freeze Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rates – a move which has seen more and more tenants struggling to make ends meet. LHA rates are used to calculate benefit payments for housing costs. Historically rates were set at the average rental price for an area, with the sum regularly reviewed. However the rate was reduced to the 30th percentile in 2011. They were frozen between 2016 and 2020 when they were realigned to the 30th percentile once more at the outset of Covid, based on rental prices as of September 19. They have remained at this level despite real-world rents going up by more than 10%. In just over two years to August 2022 the number of households facing a shortfall in their housing benefit increased by 50%. The NRLA has been campaigning on the issue for some time, asking the Government to reverse the freeze, to support both the 38% of private renters in receipt of housing benefit, and the landlords housing them. Richard is joined by Leeds Landlord Jessica Reehal who owns 22 properties in Leeds and rents mostly to families in receipt of benefits and Julie Ford, who is a tenancy mediator for the Property Redress Scheme and runs the NRLA course on Tenant Finance. They talk about the issues they are experiencing on the ground and what needs to change. Joseph Taylor of the Landlord Advice Team joins us for our regular update on the hot topics on the phonelines, before Richard talks to landlord MaryAnn Richmond-Coggan, who built a successful rental portfolio in South East London, before opening a farm and community garden in Kent, running a charity enabling youngsters from the city to experience the great outdoors. She talks about buying at the right time, the challenge of refurbishment and giving something back. Nicola Bajetta takes us through Rongzom Chökyi Zangpo's commentary on the Nāmasaṅgīti, a hymn of praise dedicated to Mañjuśrī Among the circa thirty-two extant works by the seminal rNying-ma scholar Rong-zom Chos-kyi-bzang-po (11th–12th cent.), his Explanation in Three Points (rNam gsum bshad pa) is one of the earliest autochthonous Tibetan commentaries on the (Mañjuśrī)nāmasaṅgīti. Included within the author's Collected Writings, the commentary is also transmitted, anonymously, in all editions of the bsTan 'gyur, with the title Lamp that Clarifies the Three Methods (Tshul gsum gsal bar byed pa'i sgron ma). Rong-zom-pa's commentary, as the title suggests, is an exegesis of the tantra in three main points (rnam gsum): 1) a discussion of the nature of Mañjuśrī (i.e., non-dual gnosis), 2) of His different Names (i.e., the names of all defiled and undefiled phenomena), 3) and of the way His Names should be chanted (i.e., by viewing His Names as having the meaning of good qualities, by viewing His Names as having the meaning of mantras, and by viewing His Names as having the meaning of non-duality). Following a general introduction to the Nāmasaṅgīti, the commentaries thereupon, and the life and works of Rong-zom Chos-kyi-bzang-po, my talk will lay emphasis on the Indian sources that underlie the composition of the rNam gsum bshad pa. Particularly significant is Rong-zom-pa's reliance on Vilāsavajra's (late 8th cent.) Nāmamantrārthāvalokinī (NMAA) (one of three Indian commentaries on the Nāmasaṅgīti that are still extant in Sanskrit) and Smṛtijñānakīrti's (11th cent.) *Guhyāpannopāyikāvṛtti, a commentary on Vilāsavajra's maternal uncle Agrabodhi's (8th cent.) *Guhyāpannopāyikā, translated by the same Smṛtijñāna, who also translated the NMAA. After analysing different modalities and degrees of textual borrowing / textual re-use from these two sources to the rNam gsum bshad pa, I will conclude by drawing a few comparisons between the canonical versions of the Tibetan translation of the NMAA and an extra-canonical version extant in a single dBu-can manuscript from the 'Bras-spungs-gnas-bcu-lha-khang in lHa-sa.

Abstract: Excitatory projections from the lateral hypothalamic area (LHA) to the lateral habenula (LHb) drive aversive responses. We used Patch-seq guided multimodal classification to define the structural and functional heterogeneity of the LHA- LHb pathway. Our classification identified six glutamatergic neuron types with unique electrophysiological properties, molecular profiles, and projection patterns. We found that genetically-defined LHA-LHb neurons signal distinct aspects of emotional or naturalistic behaviors: Esr1+ LHA-LHb neurons induce aversion, whereas Npy+ LHA-LHb neurons control rearing behavior. Repeated optogenetic drive of Esr1+ LHA-LHb neurons induces a behaviorally persistent aversive state, and large-scale recordings showed a region-specific neural representation of the aversive state in the prelimbic region of the prefrontal cortex. We further found that exposure to unpredictable mild shocks induced a sex- specific sensitivity to develop a stress state in female mice, which was associated with a specific shift in the intrinsic properties of bursting-type Esr1+ LHA-LHb neurons. In summary, we describe the diversity of LHA-LHb neuron types, and provide evidence for the role of Esr1+ neurons in aversion and sexually dimorphic stress sensitivity. Here we show that LHA neurons that produce melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) are dynamically responsive to both food-directed appetitive and consummatory processes. Specifically, our results reveal that MCH neuron Ca+2 activity increases in response to both discrete and contextual food-predictive cues and is correlated with food-motivated responses. MCH neuron activity also increases during eating and this response is highly predictive of caloric consumption and declines throughout a meal, thus supporting a role for MCH neurons in the positive feedback consummatory process known as appetition. These physiological MCH neural responses are functionally-relevant as chemogenetic MCH neuron activation promotes appetitive behavioral responses to food-predictive cues and increases meal size. Finally, MCH neuron activation enhances preference for a noncaloric flavor paired with intragastric glucose. Collectively, these data identify a hypothalamic neural population that orchestrates both food-motivated appetitive and intake-promoting consummatory processes.
