Chiefs 53 Man Roster Prediction -Jody Fortson? Daurice Fountain? Tim Ward? Derrick Gore?
Co-Host Timothy Ward (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/goddess) Men and women were clearly designed to get along and be in partnership together, yet in real-world practice that is often replete with challenges. What's up with that? Well, despite the somewhat lofty title of his book Savage Breast: One Man's Search For the Goddess, my guest Tim Ward has happened upon some truly original and at times mindblowing concepts that are flat-out guaranteed to transform how you view relationships between men and women. According to him, all of the answers we seek with regard to understanding women and relating to them just might be found by extending our understanding beyond Western culture...and perhaps even looking into our distant past as homo sapiens. Indeed, there is a wealth of archetypal information and mapping available to us that's actually pretty straightforward, yet often overlooked. Now see though, here's the thing...this is largely a Western world problem. Discover why people of other cultures and (to us) exotic faith traditions have way more figured out about all of this...and have for literally thousands of years. All of this may sound like so much new-age drivel on the surface, but you have my solemn promise that what you are about to hear is not only dead simple, it's extremely practical...just as we love it to be around here. Tune in to the very end for the GOLDEN secret to why men and women in our culture are liking and trusting each other less and less, even as we have fewer reasons for it. Could it really be more archetypal than societal? The ramifications of realizing these factors are straight-up IMMENSE. I've been talking to more and more men, and lives are being transformed. Guys are meeting more women in the process, up to and including the woman of their dreams. For those men, it all started with a 25-minute free call. What do we say at the beginning of these things again? Oh yeah, WHAT'S UP, Skaters?! On this episode we discuss the skateboarding film Lords of Dogtown (no Z). Kyle Beachy (book author), Ted Schmitz (show notes author), and Tim Ward (not at all an author, but he's on another podcast, so that counts for something?) look at the the general failing of skate films by taking apart the characters and story presented in this strange studio feature. How it got made, we may never know, but maybe there was a market maybe? If you liked the film, that's fine; it's good to have joy where you can. We, however, did not enjoy it. And you can hear all about it. We don't really do the timecode thing, but maybe it'll help guide you through this one: 00:00:00 - Cold Open (we do these instead of skits because, the skits weren't funny and they took too long) 00:00:30 - Cold open ends and we hear a nice intro song by Roar 00:01:00 - Introducing the podcast cast 00:04:00 - Introducing the film cast. It's not looking good 00:05:00 - Start talking about the movie. Bummer 00:05:30 - Nothing improves, massive problems exposed 00:05:31 — 01:03:00 - The bad things are discussed 01:08:25 - Tim brings up a trick challenge That's basically it.

Business in times of struggle often talk of getting back to their roots. Not North High Brewing. Like many breweries and other businesses, the last year was one of big changes in the face of challenges, but the North High of today doesn’t resemble the one first dreamed up by co-founders Gavin Meyers and Tim Ward a decade ago. They didn’t want to run any brewpub. Today they have four and could be in double digits by the end of the year. They didn’t have aspirations beyond Columbus but soon will be in multiple states. They only barely wanted to brew their own beer — the initial hook for the business was as a brew-your-own operation. North High’s own beers would be secondary to the experience of inviting customers in, showing them a book of recipes and letting them loose (with professional guidance) on the brewing system. That brew-your-own option diminished over time as the founders realized being a traditional brewery made more sense. It officially ended last year. “That was the reason for being. That was the point of differentiation back when we thought the seventh brewery in Columbus was going to really crowd the industry,” Meyers said. There are dozens of craft brewers around Central Ohio today and hundreds in the state. North High is poised to rise in those ranks. Meyers chatted with Columbus Business First for an episode of Crisis Management, a podcast about businesses operating amid the coronavirus pandemic. He talked about the challenges of the past year — declining sales, laying off staff — but also the promise of the future. Thanks to its relationship with Columbus-based coworking space developers and operators CoHatch, North High’s reach is moving beyond its original Short North taproom. Through that partnership, North High now has operations in Dublin, Springfield and Cincinnati, with additional units lined up in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Florida. Meyers explains how that relationship developed, how it works and how it’s allowing North High to expand at “a fraction of the cost” they would incur if striking out on their own.

There is no end in sight to the amount of misinformation and disinformation that we are currently being exposed to. With a contentious US presidential election and the seasonal spike in COVID-19 pandemic cases, that pollution is on the rise, and information that used to be politically neutral is now being politicized and weaponized. These and other topics, including the Pro-Truth Pledge movement, are discussed with guest, Tim Ward, co- author of the book: Pro Truth: a Practical Plan for Putting Truth Back into Politics.
I interview Tim Ward, co-author (along with Gleb Tsipursky) of Pro Truth: A Practical Plan for Putting Truth Back Into Politics. We talk about the Pro-Truth Pledge, a tool to enable politicians, government officials, public personalities, and even regular citizens in sharing, honoring, and encouraging the truth as a central foundation for political discourse. For more about the Pro-Truth Movement, visit ProTruthPledge.org. For more about Tim and his work visit ChangemakersBooks.com. To buy a copy of Pro Truth for yourself, click here. Plus: The newly conservative-controlled Supreme Court has issued "injunctive relief" against an executive order (issued by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo) that sought to restrict the number of attendees at religious services in certain zones identified as pandemic hotspots. In Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn v. Cuomo, the Court agreed with the church's argument that restrictions applying uniquely to religious meetings violate the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. (Nevermind, as pointed out by Chief Justice John Roberts in his dissent, that Cuomo had already altered his executive order so that the zone restrictions no longer apply.) Justice Stephen Breyer also dissented, insisting that governors should be given considerable latitude to act during times of public emergency. In any case, this ruling is surely a harbinger of how a SCOTUS now dominated by Trump appointees will rule favorably on behalf of religious conservatives. Theme music courtesy of Body Found. Data governance is a complex endeavor, but scaling it to meet the needs of a complex or globally distributed organization requires a well considered and coherent strategy. In this episode Tim Ward describes an architecture that he has used successfully with multiple organizations to scale compliance. By treating it as a graph problem, where each hub in the network has localized control with inheritance of higher level controls it reduces overhead and provides greater flexibility. Tim provides useful examples for understanding how to adopt this approach in your own organization, including some technology recommendations for making it maintainable and scalable. If you are struggling to scale data quality controls and governance requirements then this interview will provide some useful ideas to incorporate into your roadmap.

Tim Ward was an associate pastor at a large church for six years before planting the first multi-site of that church in Reston, Virginia. He turned a painful experience in church as a child into a positive and life-giving opportunity for others to be a part of a faith community that has grown into the largest multi-site ministry of the Virginia Annual Conference. Listen to learn more about his incredible story. In March of 1739, John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, engaged in "field preaching" for the first time after being encouraged by his friend and fellow preacher George Whitefield. Instead of preaching his sermon from a pulpit, Wesley went out from the church and preached in the open air to those who didn't have the time or money to sit in a pew and hear the good news. Thousands of people, mainly those struggling with poverty, came to hear him preach that first week and the revival of Methodism was born as the good news became real in the hearts of those who heard about God's love and grace. Church planters are modern day "field preachers" who go out from the established church into the community where they proclaim good news to those who need it most. This podcast is a series of interviews and stories from modern-day Methodist field preachers who will make you laugh, cry, and think more deeply about how and where we are called to share God's love and grace.

Today I’m talking to Tim Ward, the founder of Skate After School (http://www.skateafterschool.org/), a Phoenix-based nonprofit that provides after school programming in the form of skateboard instruction to underserved youth. Basically, Tim and his team use skateboarding to teach kids strong values, like teamwork and positivity. After visiting the organization’s Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/skateafterschool/), you are immediately struck by a number of things. The first is the overall tone and positivity of the whole experience. There isn’t a competition over who is the best, but instead, the kids all encourage each other. The second, is the determination. Of course they fall but they get right back up and try it again. Over and over. Lastly, it seems like the adults (Skate After School volunteers, Tim, or once in a while, even a school principal!) are having a blast. I wanted to know more about how this organization that began as a community project nearly seven years ago, grew into a non-profit with a team of 30+ volunteers, serving roughly 240 students per week across eight low-income schools. Tim is an unlikely entrepreneur—he’s cautious and reserved. He puts his energy into high quality programming before he thinks about scale. More than anything though, he just really enjoys the kids. I think as marketers, we can often make things more complex than they need to be. Our search for differentiation leads us to complicated brand platforms and messaging platitudes tailored for each of our different audiences. Once in a while, it’s good to back up and remind yourself, like Tim, why you got into this in the first place. Look to your organization’s output—in this case, Skate After School’s kids—to do the talking for you. Skate After School's logo and branding was created by designer and illustrator, Michael Worful (https://worful.bigcartel.com/). Special Guest: Tim Ward.
The ETL pattern that has become commonplace for integrating data from multiple sources has proven useful, but complex to maintain. For a small number of sources it is a tractable problem, but as the overall complexity of the data ecosystem continues to expand it may be time to identify new ways to tame the deluge of information. In this episode Tim Ward, CEO of CluedIn, explains the idea of eventual connectivity as a new paradigm for data integration. Rather than manually defining all of the mappings ahead of time, we can rely on the power of graph databases and some strategic metadata to allow connections to occur as the data becomes available. If you are struggling to maintain a tangle of data pipelines then you might find some new ideas for reducing your workload.

A great story shared with me by Alistair Campbell around how the attitude and approach of footballers have played out over the course of the career and what we can learn from them. This story of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo has always struck with me. Hopefully you will gain something from it too. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments. If you like it please share it and tag Tim Ward and Bid and Research
Data integration is one of the most challenging aspects of any data platform, especially as the variety of data sources and formats grow. Enterprise organizations feel this acutely due to the silos that occur naturally across business units. The CluedIn team experienced this issue first-hand in their previous roles, leading them to build a business aimed at building a managed data fabric for the enterprise. In this episode Tim Ward, CEO of CluedIn, joins me to explain how their platform is architected, how they manage the task of integrating with third-party platforms, automating entity extraction and master data management, and the work of providing multiple views of the same data for different use cases. I highly recommend listening closely to his explanation of how they manage consistency of the data that they process across different storage backends.
