The beautiful Indonesian island of Lombok has long sat in the shadow of its neighbour, Bali. Things may change in future, as the coastal region of Mandalika has been prioritised by Indonesia's government for tourism infrastructure development. On today's show, Gary chats about capturing travel on camera in different Lombok locations with Senggigi-based independent filmmaker Josh Edwards. Josh's career took a twist during the pandemic, as he relocated from the UK to Lombok and set about producing an engaging travel show series called The Lombok Life. Season 1 featured broad-ranging documentaries filmed in the Gili Islands and at the Bayu Nyale Festival. He also climbed Mount Rinjani, and interviewed his local guide about his experiences climbing the volcano during the 2018 earthquake. Josh is currently shooting Season 2, and promises new episodes covering local cuisines, coral reef restoration and the Mandalika motor-racing circuit, which will host the Indonesian Moto GP in March. We also talk about the recent floods in western Lombok, the scale of development in Mandalika - and his work with an environmental foundation that organises beach clean-ups and helps protect Lombok's mangroves and reefs.

We've seen a lot trains and a lot of countryside but we have never seen anything as joyful as Julie Walters riding the train. We're smoking some fish, touring some trailers, eating some lobsters, and learning a lot about victorian train ettiquette.

In today's social media world, it's easier than ever to get ideas for your bucket list, see the latest travels of your favorite travelers, and develop a serious case of wanderlust. If you are ready to be more than a window shopper, you have likely run across Travel & Adventure Show. https://www.fitlifecreation.com/post/mapping-adventures-with-the-travel-adventure-show You may attend personal development, conferences, and shows as I do. The travel bug may have already sunken its teeth into you too. I've always loved to learn and explore. My love of travel started with being exposed to travel before I was even born. If Instagram, or the term travel blogger, existed in the '90s, that would have been me back then. Each summer in elementary and middle school, I traveled abroad to visit family in Poland and explore from there. As a traveler early in life, I recognized how much I grew from the exposure of culture, experienced and people from different countries. Since becoming an entrepreneur, I integrate travel into all I do, whether it is a staycation, media experience, and/or our hands-on transformational retreats. I choose to invest in events and shows regularly. I believe there is nothing like a live event. I've attended events with Strategic Coach, Dani Johnson, Herbalife Global Nutrition, Brendon Burchard, and Travel Blogger Exchange to name a few. So, when I learned about Travel & Adventure Show in Atlanta in 2020, it was a show I wanted to attend with lovers of travel, global travel bureaus, and experiences.
