In een wereld waarin we altijd ‘aan' staan, is rust misschien wel het meest onderschatte concurrentievoordeel. We werken harder dan ooit, scrollen langer dan ooit en nemen minder echte pauzes dan ooit. Het gevolg? Overprikkeling, stress en een steeds leger hoofd. In de Female Leaders Podcast vertelt neuropsycholoog en ondernemer Linde Nieman waarom juist rust de sleutel is tot betere prestaties, meer focus en duurzamer succes.Linde is oprichter van Ruststokers, een organisatie die kenniswerkers helpt om beter samen te werken met hun brein, en van Iterative Minds, haar tweede onderneming. Met een achtergrond in neuropsychologie, CGT en ACT combineert ze wetenschap met praktische gedragsverandering. Haar missie is helder: mensen leren hoe hun brein werkt zodat ze niet opgebrand raken in een maatschappij die altijd doordraait.Volgens Linde zit het probleem niet in het feit dat we veel informatie verwerken, maar in het gebrek aan echte herstelmomenten. “Er is een mismatch ontstaan tussen hoeveel prikkels we krijgen en hoeveel rust we nemen.” Of je nu e-mails beantwoordt of op Instagram scrolt, voor je brein maakt het weinig verschil. Het is allemaal prikkelverwerking. Zonder prikkelloze pauzes raakt het systeem overbelast.Die overbelasting zie je terug in een constant gevoel van gejaagdheid, minder plezier in je werk en uiteindelijk in fysieke klachten, slechter slapen en zelfs burn-out. Niet omdat iemand ‘zwak' is, maar omdat het brein simpelweg geen ruimte krijgt om te herstellen.Een van de meest praktische inzichten uit het gesprek is de zogeheten breinpauze. Dat is een korte, prikkelloze pauze waarin je niets consumeert. Geen podcast, geen telefoon, geen gesprek. Alleen jij en je gedachten. Bijvoorbeeld door uit het raam te kijken of even te wandelen.“Vijf tot tien minuten is al genoeg om de herstelmechanismen in je brein te activeren,” zegt Linde. Maar minstens zo belangrijk is wat je traint: het verdragen van ongemak. Want het gevoel dat je iets mist als je even niet bereikbaar bent, is vaak gebaseerd op overtuigingen die niet kloppen.In de aflevering vertelt ze hoe juist dat kleine ongemak doorstaan de sleutel is tot echte gedragsverandering. Niet door rigoureus te detoxen, maar door stap voor stap ruimte te maken.Naast haar expertise over het brein deelt Linde ook eerlijke inzichten over ondernemen. Ze runt twee bedrijven en ziet ondernemerschap als topsport. “Je hebt duidelijke regels nodig waar je niet aan komt. Dat geeft autonomie en dat is essentieel voor stressregulatie.”Voor haar betekent dat onder andere niet werken in het weekend, vaste pauzes nemen en duidelijk afbakenen tussen rollen. CEO, marketeer, psycholoog. Elke pet vraagt iets anders van je brein.Ze gelooft sterk in focus. Liever één ding goed dan vijf half. Daarom zegt Ruststokers vrijwel altijd nee tegen maatwerktrajecten, hoe aantrekkelijk het geld ook lijkt. Sabine wächst in Fürstenfeld auf – als erstes Kind sehr junger Eltern, in einem klassischen Rollenbild: der Vater arbeitet, die Mutter ist zu Hause. Früh zeigt sich ihre Vielseitigkeit. Sie liebt Kinder genauso wie Technik, Räume und Strukturen. Architektur oder Arbeit mit Kindern? Beides zieht sie an aber sie landet an der TU Graz – und bleibt. Ihr Architekturstudium wird begleitet von Arbeit, denn Praxis ist für sie nie ein Gegensatz zur Theorie, sondern die logische Ergänzung. Der Weg in die Selbstständigkeit entsteht nicht aus einem großen Masterplan, sondern aus einem inneren Unwohlsein. „Ich bin am Montag mit Bauchweh in die Arbeit gefahren und am Freitag erleichtert heim“, sagt sie rückblickend. Mit Anfang dreißig kündigt sie – kurz vor Weihnachten – und macht sich selbstständig. Was folgt, sind 13 Jahre als Architektin mit eigener Handschrift: Sabine plant vor allem Einfamilienhäuser, aber nicht als reine Baukörper. Für sie sind es Lebensräume. „Ein Haus muss funktionieren. Es ist kein Kunstobjekt – es ist der Ort, an dem Menschen ihr Leben leben.“ Ihre Arbeitsweise ist geprägt von Zuhören. Der erste Termin findet meist bei den Bauherr:innen zu Hause statt, dauert Stunden. Sabine schaut, fragt, spürt. Es ist dieser respektvolle, klare Zugang, der ihr über Jahre hinweg Aufträge bringt – ganz ohne Homepage, ganz ohne Werbung. „Wenn eine Tür zugegangen ist, ist eine andere aufgegangen.“ Parallel dazu passiert aber noch viel mehr: Sabine wird Mutter. Früh ist sie alleinerziehend, jongliert Selbstständigkeit, Baustellen, Verantwortung – getragen von einem starken familiären Rückhalt. „Ohne meine Eltern wäre es nicht gegangen.“ Dieses Netz gibt ihr Sicherheit, auch in Phasen, in denen alles gleichzeitig passiert. Ein weiterer Schritt folgt später – einer, den Sabine selbst lange ausgeschlossen hatte: die Politik. 2020 sagt sie Ja zur Anfrage, Vizebürgermeisterin von Fürstenfeld zu werden. Drei intensive Jahre folgen. Jahre, in denen sie ständig unterwegs ist, ansprechbar, sichtbar. „Politik gehört für Menschen gemacht“, sagt sie – und lebt genau das. Sie hört zu, erklärt ehrlich, was möglich ist und was nicht. Doch der Preis ist hoch. Sabine merkt, dass sie sich selbst verliert. Schlaflosigkeit, Erschöpfung, Kraftlosigkeit schleichen sich ein. „Ich habe mich selbst nicht mehr gekannt.“ Der Entschluss zu gehen ist klar – und mutig. Sie tritt nicht nur vom Amt zurück, sondern zieht sich aus allen politischen Funktionen zurück. Die Reaktionen überraschen sie: Dankbarkeit, Respekt, Verständnis. Es ist ein Abschied ohne Groll, aber mit Klarheit. Fast zeitgleich öffnet sich eine neue Tür. Ein Anruf, ein Gespräch, ein schneller Prozess – und Sabine wechselt nach zehn Jahren in der Baubezirksleitung in eine neue Rolle: Sie wird Baukulturkoordinatorin der Steiermark. Heute arbeitet sie daran, Bewusstsein zu schaffen für gute, nachhaltige, landschaftsverträgliche Gestaltung. „Baukultur machen wir Menschen. Alles, was draußen gebaut wird, gehört dazu.“ Ihr Ziel ist es, Politik, Verwaltung und Gesellschaft zu verbinden – und zu zeigen, dass gute Baukultur nicht teuer sein muss, sondern Haltung braucht. Kraft schöpft Sabine heute bewusst: im Garten, in der Erde, unter ihrer Linde. Beim Kinderturnen, das sie seit 1987 begleitet. In Freundschaften, die geblieben sind. Und im Zulassen von Pausen. „Es ist auch okay, einmal nichts zu tun“, sagt sie – eine Erkenntnis, die nicht selbstverständlich war. Am Ende dieses Gesprächs bleibt ein Satz, der Sabines Haltung zusammenfasst: „Frauen müssen nicht alles. Aber sie müssen mutiger sein und mehr Selbstvertrauen haben.“

¿Qué tienen en común una carretilla elevadora, una Harley-Davidson, la cabina de un Airbus, un SEAT Ibiza y el metro de París? La respuesta, por increíble que parezca, es Porsche. Todos conocemos a la marca de Stuttgart por sus icónicos deportivos, su inconfundible sonido y su dominio en Le Mans. Pero esa es solo la mitad de la historia. Hoy desvelamos el universo secreto de Porsche Engineering, la faceta de "mercenarios de la tecnología" que ha resuelto problemas para clientes de todo el mundo, a menudo en la sombra y sin llevarse el crédito público. Para entender esta historia, hay que viajar a los orígenes. Antes de que existiera el primer coche con su apellido, Ferdinand Porsche fundó en 1931 una oficina de diseño e ingeniería. Su nombre oficial, "Doktor der Ingenieurwissenschaften Honoris Causa Ferdinand Porsche GmbH, Konstruktion und Beratung für Motoren und Fahrzeugbau", deja claro que no era un fabricante, sino un cerebro de alquiler. De su genio nacieron tanto las revolucionarios monoplazas de motor central de Auto Union como el encargo que cambiaría la historia del automóvil: el Volkswagen Escarabajo. La verdadera esencia de Porsche siempre ha sido la ingeniería como servicio. Tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial, su hijo Ferry Porsche mantuvo vivo el sueño creando el legendario 356. Sin embargo, para financiar su costosa producción artesanal, recurrió al ADN de la empresa: vender conocimiento. Así, la división de consultoría, hoy conocida como Porsche Engineering, se convirtió en el pilar financiero que sostuvo a la marca y, a la vez, en un extraordinario campo de entrenamiento tecnológico. Algunos de estos proyectos son secretos a voces, pero los detalles son fascinantes. A finales de los 80, Mercedes-Benz tenía a todos sus ingenieros ocupados con la nueva Clase S y no tenía recursos para meter su motor V8 de 5.0 litros en la berlina W124, principalmente porque no cabía. Porsche, en plena crisis financiera, aceptó el reto. No solo rediseñaron el chasis, sino que ensamblaron a mano cada Mercedes-Benz 500 E en la misma planta del mítico superdeportivo 959. Poco después, Audi quiso consolidar su imagen frente a BMW M y AMG. Con la línea de montaje del 500 E libre, Porsche se alió con ellos para crear el Audi RS2 Avant. La implicación fue tan profunda que se estima que el 20% de sus piezas eran del catálogo de Porsche. No era un Audi modificado; era un Porsche con la insignia de los cuatro aros que creó de la nada el segmento de los "super-familiares". Pero la verdadera magia está en los proyectos que casi nadie conoce: -Más allá del Telón de Acero: En plena Guerra Fría, Porsche ayudó a la soviética Lada a refinar la mecánica del robusto Niva y, años más tarde, a desarrollar el motor y la caja de cambios del Samara. -De Stuttgart a Milwaukee: Cuando Harley-Davidson necesitó un motor moderno y refrigerado por agua para atraer a un nuevo público, acudió a Weissach. El resultado fue el motor "Revolution" de la V-Rod, un V-Twin que subía de vueltas como ninguna otra Harley lo había hecho jamás. -La Salvación de SEAT: Tras su ruptura con FIAT, la supervivencia de SEAT dependía del Ibiza. Porsche fue contratada para rediseñar su motor. El acuerdo para lucir la inscripción "System Porsche" en la culata fue una jugada maestra de marketing que salvó a la marca española y supuso un ingreso vital para la alemana. -Del Nürburgring a Corea: Para que la primera generación del Hyundai Coupé tuviera un comportamiento dinámico a la altura de los deportivos europeos, la marca coreana contrató en secreto a Porsche para la puesta a punto completa de su chasis y suspensiones. -De los Circuitos a los Almacenes: Desde hace más de 40 años, Porsche diseña las carretillas elevadoras de Linde. Aplicando la ergonomía de un 911 a la cabina del operario, han revolucionado el sector, demostrando que el buen diseño mejora la productividad y la rentabilidad. -Del Asfalto al Aire y al Subsuelo: La experiencia de Porsche en el diseño de puestos de conducción fue clave para que Airbus les contratara para optimizar la ergonomía de la cabina digital del avión A310. Y si alguna vez viajas en la línea 14 del metro de París, debes saber que el diseño exterior e interior de esos trenes (modelo MP14) fue encargado por Alstom al Porsche Design Studio. Como hemos visto, la excelencia de Porsche va mucho más allá de sus coches. Es la historia de un estudio de ingeniería universal, cuya necesidad de sobrevivir se convirtió en su mayor escuela. La conclusión es que esta “rama” de negocio de Porsche, tan poco conocida, ha sido y es de una importancia vital.
