The Hit - Short story read by the author JOHN LUGO-TREBBLE John writes the most exquisite romantic stories - each has a bit of an unnerving twist. Here we are priveldge to podcast one of john's beuatiful stories called The Hit Let us know in the comments your thoughts and if you would like to hear more or John's stories. Here's a little about John My mother used to say that from the moment I learned to walk, I was walking the other way. This statement did not just end up applying to my life, but also my writing. I am a Puerto Rican Bronx native (Nuyorican, if you will) who has lived in New York, Eugene, London, Berlin and Prague. My husband and I currently live in West Cornwall in a barn with our three adventurous cats and surrounded by lots of stars (when it's not raining or overcast). I am influenced by urban landscapes and the interconnected lives of people in an increasingly globalised world. I love to explore the small moments that bring humanity to impersonal surroundings. In addition to fiction, I enjoy writing articles about the writer experience, how we engage with memory, films and music. http://www.johnlugotrebble.com https://www.facebook.com/JohnLugoTrebble https://www.instagram.com/jlugotrebblewriter https://www.amazon.co.uk/John-Lugo-Trebble/e/B07DT2ZKB9/ref=dp_byline_cont_pop_ebooks_1 https://www.goodreads.com/author/list/18133346.John_Lugo_Trebble

It not only connects people but memories, places and can travel through time. “Sing!” follows the journey of Benny Goodman’s Sing (with a Swing) record from the early 80’s in The Bronx to London in the 90’s and Cornwall in the 10’s. Starting with the death of a neighbour, the record helps connect two grieving characters who share the loss of a man they knew two sides of. Moving onto London, the record provides the soundtrack of heartbreak and confusion as a woman tries to come to terms with an unknown future. In Cornwall, it comes full circle with a couple who are giving their love a second chance and are looking to the future under the shadow of the past. https://happylondonpress.blogspot.com/ https://www.instagram.com/happylondonpress/ https://twitter.com/HappyLDNpress https://www.happylondonpress.com/

Today on the Voicing Startups podcast I am talking with Armel, the founder of Trebble.fm. Trebble lets you stay up-to-date with all the different topics you care about by listening to short-casts (1 to 2-minute podcasts) from your favorite sources and content creators. Through the Trebble platform you are able to listen to these short-casts on your phone, on the web or any voice-enabled speakers with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Being a creator of short-casts I was super excited to do this interview, and Armel exceeded all expectations. In this interview we touched on many different things ranging from metrics around the business to the in’s and out’s of short-casts. To start the Voicing Startups interview off, Armel gives a background of himself, which really shows the work ethic that he brings to Trebble, coming from Central Africa to study in Canada, work for another startup and ultimately start his own company. We then start to dig more into the Trebble product itself. We discuss what the product exactly is as well as what a “short-cast” is, which sits at the core of the product. We then dig into the business model, the target customer landscape, as well as what the competitor landscape looks like and how Trebble is able to differentiate itself. To wrap up the episode, we start to look at a few more high level topics and Armel’s view of the future. Specifically, we discussed what the future of short-casts may look like and ultimately the Trebble platform alongside that progression. Also, Armel discusses what gets him excited with the continued proliferation of audio. Check below for the best places to follow Trebble.FM and the Voicing Startups Podcast! In this episode, Teri welcomes back Armel Beaudry Kembe, the founder of Trebble.FM, to update us about all things related to audio and flash briefings for both creators and audiences.Welcome, Armel!Trebble.FM is a free service that allows users with no technical experience to record byte-size “shortcast” voice messages (aka “capsules”) on Trebble.fm using your smartphone or internet browser. Then, anyone in the world with a voice-activated speaker, such as the Amazon Echo, will be able to listen to you instantly.Trebble allows you to create a series of short audio recordings or music selections, which can then be personalized with your commentary. Imagine being the DJ of your own smart radio station (i.e. your “trebble”), or sharing your knowledge of a topic in a series of short audio recording (i.e. “capsules”). This is exactly what Trebble allows you to do, without requiring any coding or technical knowledge. How Trebble.FM WorksThe platform’s main benefit is that it simplified the creation of a flash briefing. Once a user signs up for an account, they have to choose whether they want to create something or just listen (be a creator or listener). If one chooses to create something, they enter the name of the show they want to start, the show’s description, choose a category, and then they get a personal URL they can use online. The user then has something that people can listen to on Alexa and they can use the platform to record their show. They can alternatively use their own software to record their show and upload it into Trebble.Once a user uploads their episode, they can publish it. People can listen to the episode on Alexa, Google Assistant, and other voice assistants. For someone who is creating a flashbriefing, once they set up their Trebble.FM account, they go to their Alexa console, sign up for a developer account, and then Trebble gives them a plug-in for their Alexa account. Once that is done, they can start publishing their content on the Trebble platform.Trebble also enables users to schedule their content. Users can easily share their content on social media right from the platform.Listeners can go into Trebble and browse the content that they like, which makes it easier for creators to reach their target audience.Trebble also has an app where listeners can listen and subscribe to any show they want. They are going to introduce some new set of features to improve on listener experience.Intros and OutrosUsers can automatically add an intro or outro to an episode right on the Trebble platform. The platform also enables a user to upload a short intro of what their show is about so that new listeners can find out everything about the show even before they listen to any episode. The platform automatically edits/processes audio episodes recorded on the platform for free. It applies Amazon’s standards when editing/processing an audio. Why Teri’s Flashbriefings Were a Good Fit for Trebble.FMTrebble focuses a lot on delivering value to listeners of flashbriefings, which is why they were honored have Teri’s new health-oriented flashbriefings on the platform because they're delivering unmatched value with their health content.List of resources mentioned in this episodeThe Comprehensive Flash Briefing Formula CourseTrebble.FM skill on Amazon Skill StoreArmel on TwitterTrebble on TwitterTrebble WebsiteOther useful resources:Voice in Canada: The Flash BriefingComplete List of Alexa CommandsAlexa-Enabled and Controlled Devices in CanadaTeri Fisher on TwitterAlexa in Canada on TwitterAlexa in Canada Facebook PageAlexa in Canada Community Group on FacebookAlexa in Canada on InstagramPlease leave a review on iTunesShopping on Amazon.ca See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
