I met Rich around 2015 when I left coaching group fitness and moved my book of business to Impact Sports Performance in Central Boca. At the time, he was the head of the facility and coach to many up-and-coming tennis superstars. Early on, we butted heads a bit as we were both early risers, and he was used to being one of the only people in the gym at that hour. What started as tension eventually turned into a genuine respect for each other's work ethic, business mindset, and the effort it took to show up every single day. We worked alongside each other for several years, sharing that huge training space and watching countless athletes and coaches come and go. When I eventually opened my own facility, Rich couldn't have been more supportive. We stayed connected through social media, and one day while watching the US Open, the broadcast cut to the athletes' training box. Sitting there stoically, locked into the match, was Rich. His athlete was battling for a spot in the finals. I snapped a photo and sent it to him with a quick message: “Congrats, man. So cool to see.” A few hours later he replied briefly as they were still on the road chasing a championship.Over the years, I continued asking him to come on the show, but it never quite materialized. Then, a couple months into 2026, he released a public video sharing his diagnosis with Parkinson's disease. I watched the video several times and reached out to offer my support and appreciation for his honesty and vulnerability. Not long after, he agreed to come on the show.He explained that for years he simply wasn't ready to sit down and openly talk about coaching, sports, or life because he was privately carrying the weight of the diagnosis while trying to hide it from the world. It was exhausting. When he arrived for the interview, he was completely himself. We sat down, went over the usual guidelines; open book, nothing off limits and started talking. He shared incredible stories from years of coaching at the highest international levels of tennis and reflected on the experiences and pressures that came with it. Most importantly, he opened up honestly about living with Parkinson's. His physical challenges, the emotional toll and the journey toward acceptance. It became one of the most heartfelt, honest, and vulnerable conversations I've had on the show and I truly hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed having it.

Hi, everybody, it's been a while. I've been away from the podcast for a bit as my mum died in February. It has not been an easy time and I have tried to carry on as usual, as much as possible, but I think we can call agree that the podcast was an area that could take a pause.I'm starting to get back into the swing of things and it feels right that the first episode of the podcast is focused upon Lasting Powers of Attorney. I am not an expert in this area, but I am sharing what my personal experience was of having these in place for both of my parents, when tragedy struck. The key takeaways:A health LPA was invaluable when my mum was in critical condition, but there are limits to use for my dad who has Parkinsons and Dementia and is still deemed to have capacityA financial LPA was invaluable for both of my parents and has, in our situation, been easier to enforce than the health LPAHaving the LPAs in place meant that I could quickly take over my parent's affairs and whilst going through one of the most horrible experiences of my life, I could make sure that my mum passed in a comfortable environment and ensure my dad received the care that he needs. They helped an unbearable situation, to be a bit more bearable. This episode is my personal story, it is not advice. However, I do wholeheartedly advocate that everyone at least consider the merits of putting LPAs in place.Next time Alan will be back with me and we will be covering how fatty liver disease and protection insurance work.Remember, if you are listening to this as part of your work, you can claim a CPD certificate on our website, thanks to our sponsors PlannerX.

We must apologise for the start of today's pod. Mark and Dan were ready to go, Nick was extremely unprofessional and decided to send a text just as the show began, so there's a slight delay while Nick finishes his extremely important, far more important than Mark, Dan and the Wolfpackers, text message.But...once we get through this hiccup in the Talk Birdie Zen, we get on with the show! JH has a request for Nick and Mark which the boys don't mind....and this leads onto a chat about a very famous, and very funny, movie that Nick has (embarrassingly) never seen !?!?!?! He really is having a shocker today. Onto Andrew, who has a comment on 'golf farces'. Tony heard Mark talking about his desire to travel to Ireland, and has some course suggestions for him. Whilst in the UK, Craig played the London Club last week and gives a report on the conditions. Trevor has messaged us about slow play and aim point, and believes a particularly massive Tour Pro is guilty of the former - but is a protected species.Mark has been shopping on Temu again....sheez.Alex has a question. His club head speed isn't great and he has found a way around it that works for him, and is interested in Nick and Marks thoughts on it. Peter watched John Senden play a few months back in the Australian Open, with Parkinsons, Peter also plays with Parkinsons and has asked if we can get Sendo on the pod to chat about how he does it, some of the tools he uses. Mark tells a great story about playing with Sendo in New Zealand where a shot went extremely pear-shaped.And Chris from Toronto writes in to let us know he enjoys watching the pod on YouTube, and has a recommendation for another pod we should check out....we've not heard of it, but when we google it, it is massive! We're live from Titleist and FootJoy HQ thanks to our great partners:Hostplus, Talk Birdie To Me's official retirement partnerBMW, luxury and comfort for the 19th hole;Titleist, the #1 ball in golf;FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf;PING will help you play your best;Golf Clearance Outlet, they beat everyone's prices;Betr, the fastest and easiest betting app in Australia; And Southern Golf Club. Mark Burnett is a former database programmer who turned his problem-solving brain towards his own health after being diagnosed with neurological disorders. He is also the president of APDI, which stands for Alzheimer, Parkinsons, and Dementia, and the founder and owner of My Brain Restore.    Born in 1958 at Camp Lejeune, Mark made the connection between his long-term symptoms to environmental exposure. He now shares his research-driven approach to brain restoration, system tracking, and resilience under uncertainty.  Mark shares his own journey of dealing with Alzheimer's, Parkinsons, and Dementia, and given no hope for recovery from traditional medicine. Basically, he was given a death sentence, being told that his symptoms would continue to worsen and his level of function would continue to deteriorate until the time of his death. Mark took matters into his own hands, dedicated himself to relentless research, and ultimately led him to launch My BRAIN RESTORE™, a premium new nutraceutical explicitly developed to support those facing neurological challenges — the same as he does, including his Parkinson's, Alzheimer's (a form of dementia). He shares his incredible story along with his amazing progress and decrease of his symptoms once he began taking the product, along with the blatant skepticism he received from some of his physicians and other medical professionals. He also describes how he went from being a coach potato to running a marathon for the first time in his life. Jennifer Shaffer is a medium/intuitive who works with members of law enforcement nationwide, including agents from the FBI, NYPD and LAPD. We met ten years ago and began a conversation that has continued undaunted onto this podcast.   I'm a filmmaker, author who has written 13 books about the afterlife, Jennifer and I met up ten years ago and have been meeting weekly ever since.  We have four books together BACKSTAGE PASS TO THE FLIPSIDE 1, 2, 3 and TUNING INTO THE AFTERLIFE. Jennifer has been instrumental in helping me to get information from people offstage - including #AmeliaEarhart and the book #SheWasNeverLost - the Amelia Earhart saga. In today's podcast we talk to someone that Jennifer didn't know when he was on the planet, but has met and works with members of his family.  In our podcast, he refers to someone who saw him many years ago - someone whom I knew who worked with him.   Upon further reflection, I'm not sure if he was referring to my friend or not - but either way, I knew who Jennifer was referring to.  Steve wanted to speak about AI - and argue that it's not something to fear but something that will enhance the ability of people to think at a faster rate. We talked about the value and pitfalls of that - and he's arguing that people can use it as a tool that it's meant to be used as.   I asked some questions about #Parkinsons (and the show "Shrinking which had an episode about it) as well as my old USC professor the late Coleman Hough who had Parkinsons and appears in the film HACKING THE AFTERLIFE where it vanishes during her six hour interview. We talked about how that is or why that happened, and then talk about the idea that "filters on the brain" (see Dr. Greysons book AFTER pg 125 or DIVINE COUNCILS IN THE AFTERLIFE for a discussion of the research into filters on the brain) might be something to examine, look into as science tries to cure Parkinsons. We reiterate we're asking questions, not giving any medical advice - not medical advice is implied or suggested or given.  However, when talking about the brain and the research involved with looking for "filters on the brain" and how it is that Jennifer's brain is in a "delta state" during her sessions (as proven by MRI's that she has done on camera, and the same results were demonstrated via Dr. Drew and Tyler Henry's MRIs.)  That people who do this kind of mediumship MAY BE stepping past those filters - and that doing so on a daily basis may help or heal parts of the brain. That's the general discussion and we do these discussions to inspire people to do their own. Hope this helps.

Medvirkende:Tobias Bendix Nielsen, fysikstuderende, AULink:Drivning Health Tech https://ida.dk/driving-healthtech/talere-og-program

The conversation moves between personal stories, practical coping strategies, and reflections on how identity, energy, and priorities shift as symptoms progress. Rather than settling on one way of framing Parkinson's, the episode explores how those frames evolve. Andrew Humberman BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Andrew Huberman, the Stanford neuroscientist powering the worlds top health podcast, has been buzzing with podcast drops that blend brain science and raw humanity over the past week. On December 22, Huberman Lab released a gripping three-plus-hour episode with artist David Choe, diving deep into transforming pain and trauma into creative fuel, touching on hope, faith, even Santa Claus, as noted on the official Huberman Lab site. Just days earlier, on December 18, he unveiled a goal-setting hack episode urging listeners to visualize failure for success, highlighted by Apple Podcasts as a bombshell from Huberman Lab Essentials. The real standout came December 17 via PRNewswire, when Huberman guested on Punk Rock Sober, chatting profound topics like fear, gratitude, addiction, and punk rock sobriety with host Tyler Ramsey and his nine-year-old son River. This groundbreaking multigenerational talk, released December 15 and now on YouTube, redefined norms with Hubermans humble insights on bravery as showing up amid fear, landing big with recovery crowds.A niche ripple hit December 19 on YouTube, where SunPowerLEDs Tom Kerber reviewed Hubermans recent two-part interview with Dr. Glen Jeffery on light therapy for brain health, concussions, PTSD, even dementia and Parkinsons, praising its vision-boosting potential. No major public appearances or business moves surfaced, and social media buzz stays steady with fans on Huberman Lab praising his digestible science. Unconfirmed whispers of broader LED therapy expansions linger from that review, but nothing verified. Hubermans quiet dominance in neuroscience chatter continues, no scandals, just science that sticks.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI
