We paid another visit to our friend Yehaa Bob and got to experience the new DVC ImaginAtrium at Epcot. All in just 3 days. Performer Stories — Fascinating Stories from Top Entertainers
This week's storytellers are Boogie Woogie Pianist & Comedy Performer Yehaa Bob Jackson, Internet Live Show Host Jason Canapp, Broadway Actors E Clayton Cornelius and Stanley Wayne Mathis. This episode is a "grab bag" of stories, meaning that there is no central theme tying the stories together. Yehaa Bob Jackson: Performing for a Well-known Disney/Pixar Exec The first story is told by Yehaa Bob Jackson, one of America's funniest entertainers who's music has literally taken him around the world. For over 23 years, Bob was resident performer at the River Roost at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside at the Walt Disney World Resort where he combined his infectious boogie woogie piano skills with fun comedy and singalong to create a unique audience-interactive experience. In 2013, he was awarded the Disney Legacy Award for bringing laughter and music to so many people at their resort. These days, he's been connecting people with that same music, same laughter, and same energy through virtual shows that he performs every Sunday evening over Facebook Live. Yehaa Bob truely is making the world a better place through laughter and music. In his story, Bob talks a little about how his character evolved and about a surprise well-known guest who came to see him perform. At the end, he also sings a favorite song of this special guest! He also cohosts online a fun Disney themed live show every Thursday evening called After Hours with two other hosts. In a past life though, he performed on stage as a magician. In his story, Jason talks about a time when he had been hired to assist another, rather exuberant magician on stage and some hijinx that ensued. This ends a great run of 23 years for Bob working for Disney. It was our honor to have Yehaa Bob on the show on May 18.Lastly, a sign of true leadership from Disney: “Josh D'Amaro was in DTD all day apologizing to cast members, letting us vent, cry, and whatnot. Yehaa Bob Jackson joined us on the show this week! Episode 20 - Yehaa Bob Jackson! This week, Sophie and I had the incredible privilege and tons of fun having Yehaa Bob Jackson join us On the Road with Mickey! "Yehaa" Bob Jackson is a Disney Legacy Cast Member who has been performing at the River Roost Lounge at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort for more than 23 years (dating back to the days when the resort was known as Disney's Dixie Landings Resort). Bob's show is one that many visitors to Walt Disney World know well. Personally, many of my Disney trips as a kid were spent at Port Orleans Riverside and included an evening or two watching Bob's performance. When you watch Bob perform, it's incredible to witness his energy and stamina. His show is so electric that even minutes into his performance, kids and adults of all ages are doing loud Tarzan roars, forming conga lines, and singing classic Disney songs from the top of their lungs. Outside of Disney, Bob also performs for Gives Kids the World, for the Orange County Library system, and for his local church in Orlando, and he continues to compose new music, now completing his 15th original album. In today's episode, I have the honor of chatting with Bob about his legacy at Disney, the origins of "Yehaa" Bob as a character and of his show at Walt Disney World, his musical compositions, and more. A very special thanks to Bob for lending three songs for us to share on this podcast episode as well, including his original song, "Near the Fire of Life" (played in the show intro), and his covers of the classic Disney songs, "Hakuna Matata" (originally written by Elton John with lyrics by Tim Rice for "The Lion King") and "Let's Go Fly a Kite" (originally written by Richard and Robert Sherman for "Mary Poppins"), both played at the very end of the episode. We've added extra floats to this weeks 3 O'Clock Parade. Its super sized to celebrate on of our hosts Birthdays. We get into all kinds of nonsense between climbing the Pyramid in Epcots Mexico to naming the bar of the week. Spending Christmas with Walt himself and a visit to Club 33.
Listener questions show. Is free dining a good value?I have seen several stories about Yehaa Bob on the internet. Is his show worth checking out?OK I will bite what is Give Kids the World and how do you volunteer? What refurbs could be done to make the following attractions better: Stitch, Ellens, Carousel, If you could create your own Disney Ticketed Event, what would it be and what would it include?

(((HEADPHONES STRONGLY RECOMMENDED))) This episode, the Mouse Lounge gets in the Christmas spirit, Disney style First, in From the Vault, we dust off an old radio recording of Walt and his gang of cartoon characters circa 1934. You’ve never heard Donald Duck more irascible or the Three Little Pigs repressible, despite the Big Bad Wolf’s insistence that they, come over for dinner. My wife was shocked to hear this sequence, commenting, “I’m so used to hearing Walt when he was older and had smoked for so many years. I can believe this voice could be Mickey Mouse. He was a tenor when he was a young man!” Indeed he was. Next, we journey to the Disney properties and take in live performances. You’ll go into the now long gone Adventurers Club, visit Yehaa Bob, hear the Daper Dans, DCA’s Miner 49’ers, The Jambalaya Jazz Band, and Billy Hill and the Hillbillies. Then, we take a spot in the shadow between the Matterhorn and Sleeping Beauty Castle to watch, A Christmas Fantasy Parade. This is a special Mouse Lounge Mix. Finally, as has become a Christmas tradition on the Mouse Lounge, I’ll play for you some of my personal Christmas favorites. They may not be Disney, but they’re sure to get you into the spirit of the season! And now, ladies and gentlemen, the tree is trimmed, the egg nog is out, and there’s a warm fire in the fireplace. Sit back and enjoy Mouse Lounge Christmas tidings… Gary Chambers (805) 270-5785 The Mouse Lounge http://www.mouselounge.com Subscribe to our write a review about the Mouse Lounge Podcast: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=180696323 The Mouse Lounge is a fan-based podcast and is not affiliated with the Walt Disney Company or its subsidiaries.
