Two bitches talking about books, movies, plays and all other kinds of art made by humans, for the rest of the bitches out there. Hosted by Neeta Thadani and Gaia Malin, (the aficionado art critics that white, cis, heterosexuals don't want you to know about) this podcast asks the essential question of the media we consume: bitch, why did you make that?

In our final episode with Alyssa, we talk all things WandaVision (cue literally any of the seven WandaVision theme songs)! Neeta was forced to watch all of WandaVision in one nine hour sitting by Alyssa, something they will not let Alyssa forget. We discuss whether or not the WandaVision sitcoms are actually good as sitcoms, the problem with fan theories, and how the show uses sitcom tropes to comment on ideals of “The American Dream”. Neeta wishes we could let Marvel heroes be villains who are afforded more complexity, considering how well the show covers addiction and grief. Katelyn is back for a Hot Take, Alyssa reveals how many times she's seen this show, and so much more, this week on “Bitch, Why?”.Be sure to leave us a review and email us at b.tchwhy@gmail.com if you have a topic you want us to cover (or just to say hi)! We get R-Rated in Bitch Time, Alyssa explains her gripes with the “self-cest”, and we get VERY existential about the themes of free will and determinism in this show. In order to give Gaia a little break from having to consume Marvel content, we have a special guest this week to talk about Black Widow: resident Marvel expert and Neeta's oldest friend, Alyssa Mendoza! We cover Scarlett Johannson's lawsuit against Disney (Heartbreaking: The Worst Person You Know Just Made A Great Point) and make lots of comparisons to the Bourne and Mission: Impossible movies. Alyssa can't pronounce “Taskmaster”, we get mad over the fact that a woman probably could have written this movie better, Bitch Time mostly consists of fangirling over Florence Pugh's character Yelena, and we lose our minds over the scene where Rachel Weisz suffocates pigs (why does she do that?!). We covered Jennifer's Body this week to celebrate a whole year of ‘Bitch, Why?'! We start out listing all the amazing songs that have come out recently and have a moment solely dedicated to discussing Princess Diana. Neeta and Gaia get into everything Jennifer's Body from Megan Fox's career to unrealistic dialogue to gay awakenings (ladies really be KISSING in this movie) to how girls struggle with having a personal relationship with sex! We absolutely gush over this movie and how it is so rich with metaphor that it is just asking to be overanalyzed. We debate whether or not this movie would actually 'kill' today or if we all needed 10 years to really get it. Happy Pride Month yet again bitches! This week, we covered Luca, quite literally the gayest movie Pixar has ever made! Gaia's voice was mostly gone and our internet was barely working but we still got this episode out especially for you! We kick off the episode with the revelation that Gaia doesn't know who Joshua Basset is despite being obsessed with Miss Rodrigo's album, Sour. We discuss the incredibly apparent queer themes in Luca and ultimately decide to run away together on a Vespa (which is obviously the best way to celebrate this month). Gaia has a lot of feelings about chickens and what it actually means to fall in love with someone and build a life with them. Most of this episode is spent with Gaia grappling over the actual meaning of love and how it is portrayed in the media, so hold on tight, spider monkeys. We eventually conclude that the cultural interaction with Twilight has become greater than Twilight itself, making it incredibly hard to review. We want justice for the misrepresentation of the sparkly vampire lore, Emily, Leah, and honestly everyone in this series. Everyone deserved better. This week, we covered The Prom, a musical-to-movie adaptation directed by Ryan Murphy. We get into how this movie fails at adapting from the source material, why it doesn’t qualify as “camp”, and whether or not straight people can play gay roles. We, of course, discuss the controversial James Corden performance, Neeta talks about how to handle POC coming out narratives, and Gaia discusses the importance of actually giving homophobia its weight and the very real struggles of teen activism. We also somehow get on the topic of queer teen style and conclude that Harper from Wizards of Waverly Place would have been a gay style icon today and so much more, this week on ‘Bitch, Why?’.Be sure to leave us a review and email us at b.tchwhy@gmail.com if you have a topic you want us to cover (or just to say hi)! We start the episode by talking about Gaia’s next farm adventure and Neeta pulls a tarot card for 2021! We get into discussion of the show by talking about how it became successful so fast, how starved we were for good media, and how good art is often not made individually. Neeta talks about how painfully white the show is and has a lot of feelings about Jolene. Gaia reflects on the barriers to entry in the chess world and the constructs of etiquette in so many other fields. We talk about how nice the subtle queer representation is in this show, nine rewrites not even being that many by playwriting standards, and how this show did Jolene so dirty this week on ‘Bitch, Why?’. During research for our previous episode (The Taylor Swift Incident), Neeta had so many emotions dealing with Post Taylor Swift Stress Disorder (PTSSD) and decided to interview friend and Taylor Swift fan, Kenzie. They talk about how they each got into Taylor Swift, the previously alluded to Kanye drama, the evolution of Miss Swift’s career and how it has all led up to her most recent album, ‘folklore’. They discuss the ways celebrities craft personal relationships with their fans as they recall the infamous tumblr era and Swift's Track 5’s (why did Taylor Swift have a tumblr?? that was so WEIRD). Kenzie explains the Scott Borchetta & Scooter Braun controversy, the faults of Taylor's activism and what makes her so compelling as an artist as Neeta tries to unpack their cultural identity crisis while covering a white woman at the top of the music industry.Be sure to leave us a review and email us at b.tchwhy@gmail.com if you have a topic you want us to cover (or just to say hi)! This week we talk about Taylor Swift and her recent album, "Folklore", with a special guest: our editor, Cameron! We realize that we probably should never do an episode on a person ever again because it feels weird to give human beings a Bitch Meter score? We discover that all three of us have some Post Taylor Swift Stress Disorder (PTSSD, if you will) and reckon with how it feels to listen to her music as people who aren't in her targeted demographic. We discuss Taylor's activism, rank her albums, and Gaia has a breakdown over the concept of "Celebrity" this week on 'Bitch, Why?Be sure to leave us a review and email us at b.tchwhy@gmail.com if you have a topic you want us to cover (or just to say hi)! This week, we cover Jojo Rabbit and recreate the 3-hour long drunk conversation we had on the floor of Gaia’s apartment. But this time, we did not fight once! After attempting to record this episode three times, we finally wore each other down enough to have a GOOD, WHOLESOME CONVERSATION. We discuss the terrible marketing campaign of this movie and how it is not a satire, but instead just a simple Coming-of-Age film about a little boy who happens to be a Nazi. We both experience major character development and decide to commemorate it with matching tattoos. Maybe the real coming-of-age film was the friends we made along the way? Get ready for spicy takes about Hitler (He is bad! Have you heard?), whether or not Nazis can be gay, how much we hate Rebel Wilson characters and so much more this week on 'Bitch, Why?Be sure to leave us a review and email us at b.tchwhy@gmail.com if you have a topic you want us to cover (or just to say hi)!
