After 65 episodes and 10K downloads in 34 countries, Pasha has decided to say goodbye to the "Let Pleasure Be the Measure" podcast. Her international ADHD coaching practice has taken off and she is going to focus on serving the neurodiverse community. In this episode, she summarizes her experiences over the last couple years and how the "Let Pleasure Be the Measure" podcast came to be. She shares updates on her son's health, marriage, sexuality, and career. It is sad to say goodbye to a passion project that brought healing and humor to so many over the past couple years. Outside of her individual, couples, and group ADHD coaching work, Pasha plans on starting a new podcast soon called "Same Bed, Different Brains" for neurodiverse couples who want to experience live coaching. Welcome Michael Vukelic, success coach, speaker, and author of "Let Go Of the Shit Show". Many A-ha moments here, friends. My Aha was when Michael said "We are taking in and experiencing exactly what we want to experience." Yes, even those hard moments. He beautifully and brilliantly teaches us in this episode: *How you can move through the world with less fear *How you can let go of the fear and find your pleasure *How the mind is reacting and creating our lives*Why we have to become stronger than our old paradigms.*How once you use the unconscious mind more often, you will feel more connected to the universe/God *Why walking in the woods helps us slow down our conscious mind and allows us to access the unconscious mind and how it is a form of self-hypnosis. *How our children inherit our traumas, fears, and limiting beliefs and how we can "cut the cord"*Why he does not fear death and how we chose the experiences we have*How we can remove the states of mind that keep us on a karmic wheel so that we can evolve to a place where you can choose how to live.*How all experiences, from a higher spiritual realm, are all beautiful experiences to expand your love, expand your wisdom, and expand your soul. Get ready to laugh about death, chronic overthinking, and wordle! And a bonus braless dance party at the end! Yes, you can ALWAYS watch my episodes on YouTube as well! You are going to love Carla White! Carla is a wellness expert, a humourist (with a U since she is from Canada), and speaker. She previously worked in health care as a nurse and real life firefighter. Seriously! Carla takes "try new things" to the next level. And, oh, and she worked with Jack Canfield, America's leading authority on success and personal fulfillment training. In fact, Jack was the one who encouraged her to follow her passion to be a comedian. Carla knows how to live out loud! I asked Carla what would scare her and she said "What would scare me the most is not seeing the fear anymore. I want to be able to face the fear and do it anyway." ROAR!We had a soulful conversation about healing with humor and how a mental health crisis was the catalyst moment that led us to comedy and how moments of our deepest grief transformed into moments of laughter. HANDS DOWN, my new favorite episode! I want Meredith Steele (IG @babiesofsteele) to come to laugh and pee at my house everyday. She's from central coastal Maine and so am I. She likes coffee and animals and so do I. She can't do tech and neither can I. So, already we should be best friends, right? But, we also share deeper connections. We both have struggled through mental illnesses and suicidal ideation. We both believe in releasing our truths to decrease shame. We both get fan mail and packages. Ok. That last part isn't true. Who wants to send me my first letter or package? You can skip the drugs, unless they are covered in dark chocolate. We talk about fitting in.We talk about eyebrows and ass.We talk about waxing and crepey labia. So, we are pretty much girlfriends, now. No, she's not into that, but she does know how to tell if someone is lesbian or a drug dealer by their finger nails. She's my hero.Meredith and I laughed till we peed and snorted. I think you will too when you listen. Actually, this is a very visual episode where you will see hair and fashion changes, petting of pussy puppets, and Meredith and I standing up with my head in her boobs, so you should grab a big Dunkin Donuts peanut butter chocolate coffee and watch it via youtube in your bathtub, but please, no toasters. We love you and want you to shine your unique light on this world. Please watch on youtube, subscribe, download, review....all the things. In today's episode we are talking about relationships, parenting, divorce, dating, and sex through the lens of ADHD.Lucky you! You get Pasha Marlowe, a Marriage and Family Therapist and ADHD coach AND Natalie Nolan, an ADHD divorce coach, in one episode!First we share our family journeys from ADHD diagnosis and management to the demise and rebuilding of relationships. Natalie explains how ADHD affected her marriage and was one of the aspects that led to her divorce. She and I talk about the parent/child marriage dynamic, parenting, repeated relationship patterns, desire discrepancies, people pleasing tendencies, how foreplay often looks like chores, and (gulp) dating after divorce...which led to a great conversation about body shame. We end with an empowering conversation about boundaries and standing up for ourselves. Shari Foos is a Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of The Narrative Method. She and I have a vulnerable and lively discussion about our shared experiences as therapists, children with trauma, storytellers, and humorists. Shari's work is fascinating and in complete alignment with my philosophy and passions. This was a thrill for me to connect with another human on such a deep level. In this episode, you will learn about the power of a story from a new perspective. Shari first explains the difference between Narrative Therapy, Narrative Method, and Narrative Medicine, all of which are steeped in the values of storytelling, empathy, and inclusion. We then talked about our traumatic upbringings and how we used humor to heal and how we now lead with vulnerability to connect with others. As humans, we have a desire to be known. If we mask or armor up and never show our authentic selves, we can not be fully known or loved, and we will thus feel alone. Share your pain and joys. Share your shame and laughter. Note: There is a brief audio issue where you will hear an echo ("pussy, pussy, pussy") and feedback, but it is quickly resolved. Thank you for your understanding. Did I mention I hate tech and fired my editor? LOL! My guest today is Sherysse Morris, a pleasure goddess and a feminine embodiment coach. She and I begin by diving into our love of pussy-the book, of course. Pussy: A Reclamation by Regena Thomashauer unleashed something in both of us and we have both created careers around the theme of the book-pleasure. Sherysse shares how the book helped her embody the feminine after a traumatic upbringing, learning where she feels stress or pleasure in her body. Now she talks to her pussy (her personal GPS and inner knowing) when she makes a decision or asks herself what she desires. And when a "no" comes up, she makes sure it is an EMPOWERED NO...or a delighted expansive YES! Sherysse and I share how our ideas around relationship structure and dreams have evolved over time. She describes the thrill of her new open relationship and I talk about the liberation I have organizing my refrigerator in a non-traditional way. Ok, she might be experiencing more pleasure than I am in this phase of our lives. LOL! Sherysse guides women through a solo goddess journey and encourages them to embody the present moment, rather than worrying needlessly about the future (busted!). She focuses on trusting your inner knowing, surrendering, and the art of giving and receiving pleasure and compliments. Me: "Sherysse, you are a gorgeous goddess."Sherysse: "Thank you, it's true"You can find Sherysse here: sologoddess.comIG @Sheryssemichelle and @thesologoddessPlease reach out or take me up on my free coaching session. Nancy Shadlock is a coming out coach and the host of The Coming Out Chronicles podcast. Interestingly, her work life began as a youth pastor and spiritual director. From her conservative Christian upbringing with missionary parents to coming out at 33, Nancy shares her unique path to finding her truth in the LGBTQ+ community. She has been an important part of my own coming out story, so I can speak to Nancy's abilities to hold sacred space for our secrets and deepest knowings. My favorite take away from working with her is the need to come out by coming in, coming in to our truest selves. In this episode, we share stories of how we lost people upon coming out and how the reactions of friends and family have changed over time. Nancy believes it is important to remember that no story is final and that we need to hold patient space for growth in others and ourselves. She holds this space beautifully and with such a calm and grounding presence. Her current group offering, the Flame Tree Collective, combines coaching with human design and archetypes so people can explore beyond coming out and realize what vocation is the best and most natural fit for them. Please consider sharing this episode with a friend and if it feels aligned, please subscribe and review. Tracey O'Connell, M.D. is an educator and a coach who primarily works with LGBTQ+ teens and families. She has been collaborating with Brene Brown's organization, Daring Way, and works as a Daring Way facilitator. The key components of these teachings are leading with courage, shame, vulnerability, authenticity, self-compassion, and resilience. These universal human themes provide a container for any mental health work, but are specifically useful for the LGBTQ community. In this episode, Tracey and I talk about how LGBTQ youth are often more "woke" and aware than non-marginalized youth. "They are the wisest, most trustworthy, and inclusive kids I have ever worked with", Tracey says, "They understand how curiosity over criticism is important for all humans to practice." Tracey and I share that when we talk to the youth, and in particular the LGBTQ youth, we feel more optimistic and hopeful about the future. Tracey explains how judging others ("othering") limits the richness of a full life experience. Rather, explore curiosity over criticism. Our conversation evolves into a discussion about suffering and how parents often sacrifice their own well-being when their children are in crisis. I share my personal story about the catalyst moment that allowed me to transform my suffering into pleasure, humor, and service. Tracey encourages us to remain open to new ideas and experiences and explains how so much of our suffering can be eased by curiosity and play. This is an empowering, entertaining, and hilarious episode! Christine is an empty nest coach and the host of the Your Empty Nest Coach podcast. Her focus in on coaching parents before they empty nest, with the goal of the parent feeling whole on their own. Christine is such a pleasure. She is brilliant, compassionate, and funny. Plus, she laughs at all of my jokes, so I talk WAY too much during this episode. She and I have a heart warming conversation about how the whole family empty nests and grieves, including the pets. I share how I ache for my adult kids to be home and try to find ways to connect via text. Here's my best tip: Become a "Shitologist" so your kids call you when their poop looks weird. Christina's tip, which is far more useful: Use the family pets to connect with your adult kids. We discuss boundary setting and letting go of expectations. We talked about how often parents who are empty nesting are also typically experiencing job and marriage transitions. We laugh about our ADHD tendencies and how we use Tik Tok to celebrate them and laugh about them. And, yes, we know this episode was not about ADHD, but you have to see the part about the ladybugs. Seriously, this may be a fun one to watch on YouTube (link: https://youtu.be/UVHslxo00Y0)In a rare moment when I take a breath or swallow, Christine shares her insight on important self care "Tool box" tips like "it is important we create our own narrative" She role models beautifully ways to embrace the journey and get excited about creating your empty nest. I had so much fun talking to her, it was hard to say goodbye...just like it is when your Netflix series ends. As a modern day temple priestess, she is passionate about supporting people to embody their sexuality, love their juicy bodies, free themselves from shame, heal sexual traumas and have a sex life worth bragging about. This was an eye-opening conversation about breaking the cycles of ancestral pleasure and sexuality patterns, somatic sexual healing, womb space trauma, body scanning, larynx-cervix connection, pleasure activism, clitoral atrophy, magic mushrooms, and how to incorporate men into the pleasure conversation. Beyond issues of erectile dysfunction and confidence, Lucia works with men around their sexual energy, often using hands on sexual healing (yes, I asked lots of questions). This hilarious episode, "Hakuna My Tatas", is a chance for you to feel deeply seen and, at the same time, feel like an inconspicuous fly on the wall as two bosom buddies gab about boobs, marriage, and men...but mostly boobs. They cause all the worries!Meet my friend Sarah Zimmerman! She is a freelance writer, author, blogger, humorist, and co-moderator of the wildly popular Untamed FB book group. She is also one of the wittiest people I know and, I brag, a graduate of my ROAR therapeutic comedy program. I'm going to pretend I helped her find her comedic voice to make myself look better. Sarah and I babble about everything and nothing for an hour, so put some earbuds in and prepare for a conversation that will make you laugh and cry and wonder why they don't make comfy lingerie for menopausal, leaky women. You'll probably want to sign up for a boudoir photoshoot after hearing this, so dig out your oomphiest bra and do a single sit up. Somewhere along the way, after explaining what "muck dwellers" are, Sarah puts her social worker hat on and offers some phenomenal marital advice. She encourages couples to evolve together by reading the same books (start with Untamed) and having the intention of generosity. I vulnerably over share some of the recent difficulties in my marriage and how I passive aggressively signed my husband up for a gender equality workshop so he could be an advocate like me because I'm right. Sarah sagely suggested I bring trust and humor into my partnership more. Bitch. We talk about surgeries, including Sarah's upcoming brave breast reduction surgery, the emotional toll of wonder womanhood and motherhood, and how women show more empathy towards others than they do themselves. "Inside our heads, we think we are schmucks", Sarah says, as well as a million other nuggets of wisdom that you will just have to listen to when you subscribe, share, and 5 star review this podcast. Most of this episode should be edited out, but I don't know how to do that yet, and I don't have a podcast team, so if you could please subscribe to the apple thingamabob and the youtube doohickey so I can get "better" guests and make enough money to afford a technical assistant, that would be awesome. Tracie Jae is the Quiet Rebel. She believes the world can be a better place if we focus on human to human interaction. As the Lead Rebel for the Quiet Rebel, she curates authentic, grace-filled conversations centered on difficult subjects. Her current offering is a national, growing and ongoing conversation on race and culture known as the 100 Voices Project. In this powerful episode, we talked about a WIDE variety of topics from systemic racism and equity o marriage and divorce to bubbles and pie. Despite all the hard advocacy work we need to be doing, Tracie also reminds us to "feed the happy". I love that Tracie can talk gracefully about bubble meditations and, in the same conversation, bravely ask questions like "would I marry me?", "what is my relationship with time and money?" and (to corporations) "why are you claiming to represent diversity and equity when you still see your neighbors as 'other'?"And then deep conversation began and I WAS CHANGED IN REAL TIME. Tracie said "I take issue with the word belonging. Being a black woman, I don't want to belong to anyone or anything! I would rather belong WITH." Let that sink in and let that change you, friends. Of course! We want to belong WITH, not TO other humans, belong WITH, not TO corporations, and belong WITH, not TO any system. Sometimes change is about shifting one word. Incremental and organic shifts matter. One word can shift how you see an entire system. For me, today, it was WITH. Know better, do better. Dr. Emily Wilson is a pelvic floor physical therapist and the founder of Pelvic Wisdom in Portland, Maine. She specializes in prenatal and postnatal psychology, spiritual trauma, and birth healing. Her passion is in helping women heal from the "taboo" conditions associated with the pelvic floor that our culture doesn't like to talk about. This episode is packed with pelvic wisdom! Yes, we talk about incontinence, strengthening AND softening the pelvic floor, and how we can reclaim our pleasure (and maybe spend less time on the toilet). And we go deeper. We talk about cyclical patterns of birthing, birth stories and trauma, and cellular memories. Emily explains beautifully how we can reframe our birth stories to take our power back. Emily says, if you heal the matriarch in the family, you heal the family. The mother's nervous system is mirrored by the children, so it is important for mother's to take the time to nurture themselves and consider healing pelvic tension and birth traumas. In this episode, I share about my own birth traumas, intimacy issues, and energy blocks. Did you know our uterus is our second heart and that C section scars and abdominal numbness could cause blockages that effect intimacy? I need to get that energy flowing again! Nina Garcia is a DRAMA THERAPIST! That's a thing and I am so glad Nina is doing this powerful work. Drama therapy offers a framework, a safe container to explore and express all of our emotions and traumas. We had a fascinating conversation about being powered vs empowered. These ideas will challenge you (hooray for learning and unlearning!) Hint: We want more empowered responses:) Nina and I talk trauma, PTSD, safety, identity, intimacy, mental health, stigma, and neurodiversity. She shares a personal story and why identity is particularly important for her to work and play with. Nina asks "can we play with that?" when she wants people to engage in and lean in to conversation, especially difficult ones. Trauma wants us to avoid conversation that feels unsafe, so we need people like Nina more than ever. The faster we work through our trauma, the less likely we are to experience PTSD and unnecessary suffering. We can take back our power and own our story. I believe Nina is a brilliant and creative healer. This episode will open your heart, mind, and possibilities in the best of ways. Welcome, Nicole Fevrier Davis, the psychic trainer! Nicole and I bonded quickly. Both of us are personal trainers and mind-body fitness experts. I identify as a holistic personal trainer and Nicole as a psychic trainer. We both believe that fitness and wellness go far beyond the body, mind, and spirit as we know it. Fascinatingly, just as I seamlessly incorporate therapeutic comedy and pleasure practices into my fitness work, Nicole weaves energy healing, psychic readings, and angel messages into hers. Nicole explains the ornate and intricate system of our soul and body connection. Through psychic readings, she integrates what she sees in people's bodies with what she sees in their soul. Nicole sees colors and images and can hear angel messages about where a client is holding onto illness or injury. She reads vibrations of her client's soul intention. She talks to guides from past ancestry that can provide client's insight into inherited trauma, entities in transition, and feedback loops. Fascinating, right?! This is all new to me, but recent experiences have opened my eyes to the spirit world and I ready to hear more. In this episode, I share personal stories about my medical traumas, joint replacements, births, and recent house displacement. Nicole explains that we shouldn't fear what is in our subconscious and we can learn to access our own power. Nicole describes how people move away from fear and find empowerment, positivity, and joy when they learn to listen to their intuition and deepest knowing more. We talk about weight loss and fitness goals, but we flip the script. Nicole explains how our emotions are effecting our intestinal flora, our metabolism, and our energy. I talk about how I have been trying to reframe losing weight. I believe by midlife, we have lost enough. I don't want to lose anything else. I want to gain strength and gain enlightenment. Nicole agreed. Sometimes people do not need to lose weight, but the fears and traumas they are holding on to. We need to choose something different and more beautiful for ourselves. Especially now, we need to keep our vibrations high, as the world is suffering. Nicole explains how science can blend with the soul and how to combine scientific research with subconscious conversations that bring divine wisdom, healing, and light.Based on her first work "Being a Body Psychic", Nicole is working on her second book "Embodied Enlightenment", which focuses on your soul answers to the science of your weight health. I'm fairly certain she was hearing my angels when she mentioned that struggles with depression, sexuality, joint problems, inequities, and feeling safe and loved all effect weight loss. I left this conversation feeling seen, heard, known, empowered, and CURIOUS and I think you will as well! I had the pleasure of speaking with Sandee Sgarlata, Author of "Happiness Solved", host of the "Happiness Solved" Podcast, and America's Happiness Coach. We talked about happiness, obviously, but also grief, because that's how life is. Sandee's happiness work was inspired by trauma, which I could relate to. I find it so beautiful when we can transform pain into purpose and pleasure. Sandee shares her experience of losing her older brother when she was 12 and how her grief led her down a path of PTSD, anxiety, and drug use. Just as I worried that pleasure was "not in the cards for me" after my traumas, Sandee shared that she did not allow herself to be happy because she was sure if she did, something else tragic would happen. We talked about our mindset, self worth, limiting beliefs, and fear and how we personally remind ourselves to fully engage in all emotions, including happiness. And, of course, we talked about gratitude with perspective. "Our worst days are better than millions of people's best days", Sandee says. So true. Sarah MacLaughlin is a phenomenal friend, social worker, parent educator, and author. Her latest book, "Raising Humans With Heart", is about raising whole-hearted children from our personal heart space as adults with our unique history and lens. In this episode, we dive into universal parenting topics, such as how to navigate boundaries, conflict resolution, self care, sexuality, inclusion, and play. I especially enjoyed Sarah's perspective on the boundary dance-how parents can set firm and kind boundaries and change our minds with authority. We discussed how to bring more pleasure, play, and self care into our lives and the lives of our children from the lens of inclusivity and connection. Sarah offers compassionate languaging for difficult conversations around bias and sex that will speak to parents of kids of all ages. Sarah challenges us to ask an important question in each of our interactions with our children: "Is this interaction building connection or breaking connection?" Please enjoy this thoughtful, inclusive, and whole-hearted conversation. And if you like this podcast, PLEASE review, subscribe, share. Ali Hendry is a holistic relationship coach, corporate trainer, and performer based in the UK. She currently works with womxn, especially those that identify with the LGBTQ+ community. Ali believes that when we approach life with compassion and curiosity, we cultivate happiness and holistic wellness. We had a thoughtful conversation about inclusion, holistic philosophy, therapy, passion, jealousy, friendships, fear of abandonment, embodied emotions, and relationship contracts. We delved into the juicy topics of jealousy, envy, and compersion and how they play out in friendships, monogamous, and non-monogamous relationships. I was particularly intrigued by the idea of romantic, non-erotic friendships. And, of course, we talked about boundaries and how important they are to establish with ourselves and others. Ali's pronouns are she/her and she identifies as a gay woman. She has been married to a man and then to a woman. She now dates womxn (with an x – women, non-binary, trans folk) and is in an open relationship with a main partner. Her experiences of monogamy, polyamory and conscious non-monogamy help to cultivate her unique perspectives on passion, jealousy, and boundaries. Did you love this podcast? Jillian Bolanz is an intuitive life coach who helps women achieve a deep connection to their inner truth by living in alignment with the seasons and sabbats, the moon cycle, and divine feminine embodiment, so they can live their life in flow, not force. This was a fascinating and empowering conversation about cyclicality, motherhood, witches, and archetypes. Turns out that I am a wise wild woman archetype (somewhere between being a mother and being a crone) so it makes sense that I would focus on pleasure and play at this time in my life! And Jillian is a mother goddess and witch! Yes, let's expand our understanding of the word "witch" and "crone" and tap into our greater wisdom. While all of this may seem unusual or even "new agey", we are actually talking about ancient practices and celebrations long forgotten. So, really, it's like coming home to ourselves and womanhood in the most sacred of ways. I felt deeply rooted in this conversation and think Jillian will open your eyes to a part of you (your "true you") that has been waiting to be revealed and healed. Judy is the author of "Bridge of Hope", an international speaker, and a dancing mindfulness facilitator. With her Masters in Business Administration, she also teaches Economics and Finance....but don't let that fool you, as it did me (math and I don't get along). Judy can talk money, trauma, duality, and sports in the same breath. She lights up with pleasure when we talk about vulnerability as much as she lights up when we talk about statistics. She is my favorite type of client and friend-someone willing to unpack all the shit, then repack it over and over, always remaining open to new possibilities and opportunities. "Both, AND" is one of her favorite phrases. More of all of it, please, the pain and the pleasure, so we know we are fully living. For someone who loves the certainty of math, Judy gracefully dives into the unknown. She constantly surprises me with her humble presentation and fierce determination to heal and learn. She is a paradox, a teacher by day and a drum playing basketball player by night. She will inspire you to lay it all on the line, listen to your knowing, fight for what you believe, charge what you are worth, be CURIOUS before you criticize (yourself and others), and find pleasure in numbers (I'm working on it:)Enjoy this whole-hearted, vulnerable, and quietly powerful conversation. The pleasure revolution is alive and well! Where are you on the "aliveness" scale? Even if you are moving through grief, trauma, or homeschooling, you are very much alive and present to your human experience. But can we create room for PLEASURE, even on difficult days? You bet! We need to move from victimhood to pleasurehood (yes, I made up that word as a combination of pleasure and motherhood) and take our power back! Sophie Luxton is the creator of the SPIRITUAL STRIPTEASE and has declared herself the Mistress of Epic Self Care. She breaks the "good wife" and "good mother" rules and encourages women to ask for what they want. Yes, please! Sophie and I honor the fact that we are still in the midst of a pandemic and online learning. We recognize that life is hard right now AND we want to remind you of the pleasure practices that work, even on the shitty days. It's fascinating how simple or elaborate (your choice!) these practices can be. Pasha shares a vulnerable story about how using the "good guest toilet paper" was the bravest thing she did to access pleasure one day. We have to set the intention to find pleasure and feel worthy of receiving it. Sophie shares how she "used to" have a juicy, fun, and creative life and now, surrounded by laundry and dishes, she realizes how important it is to orientate ourselves to pleasure. When we do, we escape from victimhood mentality and step into our power.Sophie desires an environment where a woman becomes highly trained to know what she likes AND what she doesn't like. It is so powerful and sexy to see a woman give an empowered yes or an empowered no. The spiritual striptease that Sophie created uses clothing and the removal of clothing as a way of soulful expression. This practice is about a woman feeling pleasure in her own skin for herself and often by herself. She even got me to practice a little striptease (you'll have to watch on youtube to see it:), which was a huge challenge for me, but she held space for my anxieties beautifully. Her invitation to express our sensuality through movement and alchemize difficult emotions, such as rage, sounds liberating and perfect for this time. She and I talk about the importance of solo dating, having an affair with yourself, whether you are single or in partnership. Solo dating is an act of self discovery and act of heroic self love. Like me, Holly learned to love herself from a grief place. Our pain is our purpose. Her catalyst moment was the experience of domestic violence. She explains her journey to self validation and empowerment and how she intentionally and unapologetically began solo dating. Samantha Ramsdell is a friend and a brilliant comedian/performer, recently seen on the Ellen show and followed by over 1 million Tik Tok fans. She was named "One of the top 5 internet comedians to follow" and, get this, her hometown is MAINE! But what I admire most about Sam is NOT the enormous mouth that made her rich and famous, but her enormous heart. The woman behind the mouth, who was bullied because of her mouth, that turned her greatest pain into her greatest asset. She took back her power-bravely and beautifully. Samantha and I are kindred spirits, aligned in our purpose to bring healing through the performing arts. Her talents expands FAR beyond what she can fit in her extra large mouth. Now doing live comedy shows and working up to a one-woman musical comedy variety show, Samantha is on a path of self discovery and empowerment. For years, she followed a more "typical" path to business school, but was feeling more depressed and less aligned as time went on. She began to practice yoga and energy work and was listening to the advice of well-meaning friends and family. Her ego and intuition were battling each other every day. Finally, at 28, she began to tune in to her own inner voice and knowing, the one that told her to sing! And she hasn't stopped since, and thank goodness, because this woman can SING! Mollie Birney, MA, and Pasha Marlowe, MFT, talk about their journey blending therapy, coaching, and motherhood and how they bring pleasure practices into all aspects of their lives. Between talking about babies and pancakes, this pleasurable episode made me lactate and drool. Mollie shares vulnerably, clearly, and courageously about how she met her husband in recovery, struggled with an eating disorder, and got sucked into the thought that her worth was wrapped up in her ability to produce and serve. She beautifully describes how she now brings presence and more grace into her parenting, marriage, and self care practices. My favorite quote "Kettle corn is not a moral issue" About Mollie Birney, MA, Clinical Coach. Mollie has over 15 years of experience in the field of progressive personal work, wellness and addiction recovery. So, I did the scary and brave thing, Y'all. I asked Kelli Tennant to be on my podcast and she said YES! Yes, this is the same Kelli Tennant who was a college athlete and famous sports reporter who covered the Lakers and Dodgers. Yes, THE Kelli Tennant of “The Kelli Show” and the “Yes, Babe” podcast. Yes. The Kelli of the IG Pleasure Channel with 31.5K followers. Yes. The one with all the sexy, half-naked photos that make you drool. Yes. Kelli Tennant who is an Intuitive Facilitator, Reiki and Hypnosis Practitioner, Women's Circle Facilitator, and plant medicine advocate! Good. I am glad we got that all out of the way because all I care about is the WOMAN and the SOUL that is Kelli Tennant. I honor the woman who broke free from a lineage of toxicity and found her voice and power. I adore the woman who challenges social norms and encourages other women to create their own narrative from their evolving truth. I celebrate the woman who moved from the grief of losing her mom, dad, and puppy and slowly made her way back to self-worshipping. I want to highlight the woman who is courageous and vulnerable in sharing her stories of facing her deepest fears and accessing her deepest pleasures. And, yes, I HAD to ask Kelli about THREESOMES and how they actually work. You're welcome. Actually, I had a lot of questions. Here's some that were answered in this episode: Can you be a “good wife” if you want to explore sex with other people? How do you find a third, a “unicorn”, anyhow? Bumble, you say? Can your friend be your third and would that “ruin” your friendship? Can you be monogamous AND have a threesome? Is that monogamish? Does it matter if I don't know how to identify? Who do labels help anyhow? Do you have the capacity to hold space for our fears of abandonment, grief, and sexual pleasure in the same breath? Hint: yes. Is it possible to let go of control and simply enjoy life? How can you surrender to asking for and receiving pleasure? How do I practice self-worship? What about jealousy? What about our fear of abandonment? How do you set boundaries? How do you stick to the boundaries you set? What if you want to change your mind? What do you do if you are stuck in a pattern of chronic pain and illness and don't feel sexy? What if you keep losing people and pets and the grief makes it hard to access pleasure? Is it normal that I always think something must be wrong because something often goes wrong, so when I can't find anything wrong, I freak out as if there is something wrong and then I freak out because I always look for something to go wrong instead of just enjoying a single fucking moment? LOL.This is exactly how Kelli and I conversed and laughed together. It was a blast. Just lock the door, get naked, throw the rubber duckies aside, hop in the bathtub, and listen. Kelli herself said “Let Pleasure be the Measure” is “an Important podcast that is fucking changing people's lives”. Aw, shucks...and thank you, it's true. Today's episode is a whole-hearted conversation about trauma, infertility, and how creativity can be a surprising and pleasurable path to our healing. I certainly resonated with how creativity could feel life-saving, as my therapeutic comedy work proved more effective than decades of traditional medicine and therapy. As a #1 bestseller author, Certified PTSD, CBT, and Fertility coach, Pantea Kalhor explains how she could conceive naturally over forty of age after over 2 years of struggling with fertility issues, unsuccessful fertility treatments, and been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. She started her research to find the root cause of her issue by learning about complementary medicine and creating a harmonic connection between mind and body. In this episode, Pantea shares stories about her PTSD and how learning to mother and nurture herself was paramount to her healing. If you have ever been to Maine, you have likely eaten lobster, a whoopie pie, and a HOLY DONUT. In today's episode “Have Your Cake and Eat it Too”, I am thrilled to bring you the founder of the Holy Donut empire, Leigh Kellis, as she reveals her new book “The Love Diet” AND details of our collaborative pleasure retreats, starting summer 2021. This episode will make you DROOL and DESIRE! We talk about food, sex, and love. We talk about self-worth, wanting, and wanting more. We talk about having our cake and eating it too...maybe with a donut and a cookie on the side, if it is in our pleasure, thank you very much. Red wine and an orgasm at the same time? Yes, please! Leigh is passionate about eating. She makes it a sensual practice. When she releases her old patterns of shame and guilt, she is open to receiving pleasure from other people. She wants to encourage women to eat with gusto and passion like we are not afraid of our appetite for life. Pasha and Leigh will be leading pleasure retreats in Maine, which will include workshops around self-worth and desire and the art of receiving, massages, pleasure portraits, scrumptious food, and spectacular coastal scenery. Emily Aborn is a content writer, the owner of the She Built This community, and a WICKED FUNNY friend. This episode will feel like you are at a slumber party with a couple of your best girlfriends, talking about marriage, work, animals, self-care, and of course, PLEASURE. Emily talks about how she enjoys pleasure through all of her senses (especially sound), movement, and playing jeopardy. Our conversation is also an accurate behind-the-scenes perspective of what it is like to be an entrepreneur and podcast host while learning to be our own best client. Just as we empower women to practice self-care, Emily and I continue to practice stillness and healthy daily rituals. Emily vulnerably and courageously shares her experiences of crying on the floor of her own mattress store, hating her work, and wanting more from her life. Now that she has found pleasure in her work, she is expanding her dreams, facing her French inner critic, and standing TALL in her power. Ari and Pasha have a lively conversation about sex and intimacy when one or both partners has ADHD. Pasha embarrassingly, and not surprisingly, overshares about her own marriage, as both she and her husband live with ADHD. Ari refers to his fascinating 2015 study on sex and ADHD and outlines key principles for great sex life. He suggests being as intentional about your sex life as you are in your exercise routine. Keep reminding yourself, he says, that the first few sets of weights don't necessarily feel good, but after a while, you get into it. Likewise, the best thing to enhance your sex life is to...well, keep having sex. It all sounds so clear and easy when he explains it! Now, if I could only remember to exercise and have sex before I get too tired! Someone bring me a sticky note! Oh, and he shared a mathematical equation about how acts of service are good for your relationship: dishwasher+laundry=sex. Indeed! Ari Tuckman, PsyD, CST, is a certified sex therapist and psychologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in children and adults. A prolific writer and international presenter, he recently released his fourth book on ADHD, “ADHD After Dark”. He also hosts the popular podcast "More Attention, Less Deficit'' for adults with ADHD.For more information and inspirations from Ari, check out http://adultadhdbook.com/Where to find Pasha:Website: http://pashamarlowe.com/FB: https://www.facebook.com/PashamarlowecoachingIG: https://www.instagram.com/pashamarlowe/Email: pasha@pashamarlowe.comPlease subscribe, leave a review, and share this podcast with your friends and families. Janice is one of my favorite inspirational speakers. She wears her heart on her sleeve and is so deeply in touch with her emotional body, she is often close to tears when she speaks. Janice goes directly to the places that scare her and enjoys busting through her limiting beliefs, trying radical things like working through body shame by entering a bodybuilding competition or working through her beliefs about her sense of humor by joining a comedy group. We have a fascinating conversation about competition, comparison, people-pleasing, trauma responses, and female friendships. We laugh about how neither of us is any good at small talk, even with new friends. What is the last thing on Earth you'd want to talk about? Cool. Let's talk about that! Janice says to let fear rest on the sidelines, pick yourself for your own team, step up to the bat, and play your own game. When you play full out, that is fulfillment and pleasure. No more playing small! Pasha is back with another solo episode. Deep breaths...this one is intimate and expansive. She reveals secrets about her recent coming out process and her new book “My Next Husband Will be a Lesbian”. While sharing radical truths is empowering and liberating, it is also vulnerable, courageous, and terrifying. Despite it all, Pasha is ready to expose the “messy middle” as she reads the first chapter of her book, a personal account of her sexual revelations. If lines like “fantasies of scissoring plague me” freak you out, you may not want to listen to or watch this episode. No, we take that back. “Do the thing that scares you most”, Pasha says, “that's where the growth and magic happens”. Go ahead and listen and, if it shocks you, notice why. Open your mind to possibilities and pleasure beyond measure. At the end of the episode, Pasha shares her many offerings, including her therapeutic comedy work and 1:1 coaching opportunities. Jo Visser is a perimenopause/menopause coach and a comedian who enjoys wearing f*ck you boots and matching knickers (she's so proper). This episode is a hootenanny! Jo and I basically normalize everything uncomfortable, odd, and gross about being a menopausal woman in this juicy conversation. We laugh our asses off about sex (and the lack thereof), anxiety, and incontinence. We talk about being less apologetic and more inclusive. We talk about embracing our flaws and celebrating our worthiness. You WILL feel a sense of relief, empowerment, and belonging after hearing this episode. You can learn about Jo and her languid lunches on FB at Jo Visser https://www.facebook.com/jo.visser.7Where to find Pasha:Website: http://pashamarlowe.com/FB: https://www.facebook.com/PashamarlowecoachingIG: https://www.instagram.com/pashamarlowe/Email: pasha@pashamarlowe.comPlease subscribe, leave a review, and share this podcast with your friends and families. Lori Varsames, Personal and Professional Coach, lives a life of pleasure and adventure in Sonoma, CA. I basically drooled throughout this podcast as she talked about her beautiful home, her partner (who is an adventure guide!), and her experiences in Italy, France (as a bicycle guide!), and New Mexico. Lori is embracing midlife in the time of a pandemic with a sense of deep curiosity and gratitude. She is exploring the Italian language, horticulture, cooking, slow eating, and savoring wine. Life is a feast, after all! Eat.PLAY...Love! Lori defines pleasure as “living into your joy” and doing the things that scare you. She loves living out loud and coaching women who are ready to step outside of social and cultural constructs. Don't tell Lori you are “too busy” for pleasure. She will call you on that sh*t and interrupt those limiting beliefs promptly. Lori Varsames came to life coaching after a 10-year career in artisan wine sales and a 10-year career in content marketing, having lived throughout the United States and in France. After having spent 20 years telling other people's inspiring stories, she vowed to empower people to craft their own—particularly in midlife when they think their stories have already been written in stone. As an advocate of adventure, Lori now empowers clients to transform their midlife malaise into midlife masterpieces, challenging them to live courageously into their full purpose. She lives in Sonoma, California with her husband, who is, go figure, an adventure travel guide. Meredith Richardson, whose story was featured in Newsweek, is a midlife empowerment coach who used to work as a mediator. She talks about her catalyst moment, a terrifying attack and attempted kidnapping, and how she was able to bring her attacker to justice. After the attack, she divorced, left the country to wander the world, write a memoir, learn new languages, and create a new career for herself. To describe Meredith as empowering is an understatement! We talk about how to bring pleasure into our days, even when we are often triggered by past traumas. We go deep into triggers, boundary setting, and how to navigate our relationships from a place of trauma sensitivity. If you are in the midst of change, being called to transform your life, or move out of your comfort zone, and especially if you are a healer yourself, this episode is for you! What didn't we talk about? We both have ADHD superpowers, after all.Enjoy this conversation about moving, creating space, meeting new friends, sticky notes, and anything NEW! We talk about letting go of shame about medications, learning abilities, and the way our brain works. Let's learn to celebrate our uniqueness! Of course, there are different ways that ADHD presents, so it is important to note how it affects our relationships and social/sexual lives. My favorite part of the conversation is when we talk about using play to treat trauma and perfectionism and how to lead with laughter. Kirsten speaks about finding pleasure in our quirks and what makes us diverse and creative geniuses. She gives a shout out to the brilliant works of Brian Sutton-Smith, Ari Tuckman and Gary Ware.Kirsten is a psychologist who lives in Maine and Tennessee. She has 20 years of experience in the mental health and coaching fields and is the author of the book “PlayDHD”. She is a certified ADHD coach and has ADHD herself. She has developed the World of ADHD, a campaign celebrating ADHD creatives. Kirsten believes that play is the best non-medication intervention for people with ADHD and I whole-heartedly agree! Pasha's first episode is raw and vulnerable. She explains why laughter through tears is her favorite emotion and her painful catalyst moment is revealed. She bravely shares details of her son's chronic illness and how behind the scenes of the pleasure podcast is often quite messy and dark. She talks about how to sprinkle pleasure on even the hardest of days and describes her own personal pleasure practices (no, it is NOT yoga, baths, and masturbation). She shares the secret of why she was sad AND glad the pandemic happened when it did. Pasha tells the secrets of how play and humor can make you a better leader, parent, and lover and help rejuvenate your mind and body (thus one of the best ways to make money, lose weight, and have better sex!). She explains how to learn to play with yourself and enjoy your own company...and have fun already! From her times as a professional performer, competitive triathlete, marriage and family therapist, holistic trainer, and now midlife laughter and pleasure coach, Pasha has decades of experience healing people using creative and embodied methods. Pasha is moved to tears and laughter in this episode where she invites you into her heart and speaks directly to those of you who are hurting right now who need a unique way to access pleasure and laughter. “STAND TALL, TITS OUT”Rachelle Ugalde, host of “Real Talk” podcast, Life and Success Coach, and mother of 3 joins me for a whole-hearted conversation about vulnerability, visibility, and body shame. Rachelle bravely tells the story of her struggle with anxiety and depression, including fears of losing her mind. At her moment of deepest despair, she reached out to her husband and asked for help. She reminds us that no matter how gorgeous we are or how “perfect” our life appears, we can still be struggling and we must ask for help and find ways to share our stories of truth. “The older I get, the less shits I give. It is such an inner job”” is one of my favorite quotes from this episode. And yet, body shame still haunts her. Rachelle is a goddess and yet, at 5'9 and full of curves, she still plays small and tries to shrink to “fit in” or feel “more feminine”. She accepted a challenge to embrace her size and stand tall with tits out at an upcoming retreat and every day after. I have no doubt she will conquer those limiting beliefs and come to a place of deeper self-love and liberation! “I am scared” Rachelle says, “and because I am scared, I know I need to do something.” https://youtu.be/y7GcUzVBLdUTo reach Rachelle Ugalde: https://www.rachelleugalde.com/IG @RachelleUgalde Rachelleugalde.com“Real Talk with Rachelle” podcastWhere to find Pasha:Website: http://pashamarlowe.com/FB: https://www.facebook.com/PashamarlowecoachingIG: https://www.instagram.com/pashamarlowe/Email: pasha@pashamarlowe.comPlease subscribe, leave a review, and share this podcast with your friends and families.
