One of the most fun episodes the Simpsons have ever attempted. Is this one that doesn't get enough credit? It's one that we quote all the time. We break it down plus lots of other things that always come up when we go down the rabbit hole that is The Simpsons. Thanks to a scheduling conflict on the part of someone who will remain nameless who may also run this blog, I wasn't able to schedule an interview with my friends over at From The Pink Seats. As a result, we filled the gap by checking in with our Richlandia correspondent, Dad. During the interview, we talk about the potential shortcomings of analytics in specific situations, recap the FSU game and preview what to expect on Saturday when Duke travels to Louisville. In addition, we get into the remaining teams on the Blue Devils' schedule, I trash the B1G and we both agree that North Carolina has benefited from an easy schedule. Sorry, not sorry. And, because I'm a younger brother, I take a few moments to throw some shade at my older brother and demand an explanation from Dad as to a parenting choice he made when me and my brother were both teenagers. We also make a reference to one all-time classic TV show episode, "Space, Geeks, And Johnny Unitas", and Dad avoids going full Abe Simpson during the open mic. Please call the pod (540-632-0160), leave a message and you'll get in an episode. Actually okay timing here with Drake having just released a new album. Matt won't "get" that one just like he doesn't "get" Take Care...or Lana Del Ray's Ultraviolence or Father John Misty's Pure Comedy. Decade defining artists of the 2010s all, and unequivocally absent from any of Matt's personal playlists or rankings. Listen to Matt and Tim embrace their inner Abe Simpson as they ponder how they once had "it" but then "it" changed under their feet.

JD Bunkis kicks off today's show like Grandpa Simpson shaking his fist at a cloud, chatting about the growing generational gap in sports and their fans. Washington Post NFL writer Jason La Canfora joins to share his insight into the Lamar Jackson situation in Baltimore, how Roquan Smith factors in, potential landing sports around the league, and what's next for Tom Brady (10:34). JD then reviews Twitter's new features with the guys, and once again falls into the Abe Simpson mold (47:34). Later on, former NHLer and current Sportsnet analyst Anthony Stewart reflects on being honoured by Kingston Frontenacs and what his time in Kingston was like for him and his brother Chris, before sharing his takeaways from the Maple Leafs' loss to Detroit (52:10). To wrap up, JD and the guys preview this weekend's loaded NFL slate in 'Time for Action', presented by DraftKings! (1:20:34).

Some people rant about politics, we rant about pizza. 'Why do the people in charge of ordering pizza for a large group never order enough pepperoni? No one ever complains about pepperoni pizza. It's always the first type of pizza to go. Yet for some reason, people order the same amount of pepperoni as they do ham & pineapple. Pump the brakes on the weird pizza for big events and give the people what they want!' Also on the show today... Burton Cummings is turning into Abe Simpson, and what are the rules for saving a seat for someone at a bar/movie theatre?

Welcome to the official launch of season 3, in which our heroes race to finish this damned countdown of Simpsons episodes before the world comes to a tragic, climate change fueled end.Betsy Devoss wasn't the first to remind us that you need a gun to protect your children from bears. We learned in this episode that Abe Simpson warned us years ago about such bear attacks. We'll also get into who stole which ideas from who: There Will Be Blood, Upton Sinclair, or these episodes of the Simpsons? Also, outing ourselves right now as being wholly unqualified to be critiquing pop culture in the first place because none of us have seen or care about Twin Peaks enough to appreciate Lisa and Chief Wiggum's dream sequence reference. We also hope you'll spare us just a few minutes to dive into conspiracies surrounding and our mother's love for Kendrick Lamar's still new-ish record.
Justin Michael (“Before You Were Funny” podcast on Feral Audio) joins the gals to talk the high-flying episode that launched a million shitty Simpsons tattoos, why geezer-humor is the highest of the high-brow, and the delight of seeing a (seemingly) competent Abe Simpson in his prime. What are you waiting for? It’s time to party like it’s Nineteen-dickety-two.
Show Notes Episode 102b: “Old Men Yell At Cloud” In our very first interview show host Dave Bledsoe is joined in studio by an old friend, who discovers how sad it is be on a low rated podcast. Together they explore the agony of aging, the pain of politics and debate the hot topics that resonate with today's youth: namely the Fourth Doctor and the best host of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
