A breakthrough in inflammatory support has arrived in the natural health market. PEA, which stands for palmitoylethanolamide, is a naturally occurring fatty acid derivative made in the body and found in small amounts in foods. Several human studies have demonstrated that PEA has broad- spectrum pain-relieving properties, anti-inflammatory effects, and nerve protection. To help us unpack all the research and studies we have Dr. Stengler joining us today. In addition to authoring 30 books on health and several best-sellers such as “The Natural Physician's Healing Therapies,” “Prescription for Natural Cures,” “Prescription for Drug Alternatives,” and “Outside the Box Cancer Therapies,” Dr. Stengler has been published in several peer-reviewed medical journals such as The International Journal of Family & Community Medicine, Endocrinology & Metabolism International Journal, and Journal of Nutritional Health & Food Engineering.Dr. Stengler's, NMD. The newest book is called, The Holistic Guide to Gut Health. A comprehensive yet accessible approach to healing leaky gut and the many uncomfortable symptoms it causes. Dr Stengler is also the founder of The Stengler Center for Integrative Medicine.Talking Points:Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), is a naturally occurring fatty acid derivative made in the body and found in small amounts in foods.PEA was first discovered in 1957 by scientists at Merck Sharp & Dohme, who isolated it from egg yolk, peanut meal, and soy lecithin. They found that PEA had anti-inflammatory properties in guinea pigs. However, PEA's role as a potential therapeutic agent was not widely recognized until 1993, when Rita Levi-Montalcini and her colleagues published research that suggested PEA has anti-inflammatory properties. Levi-Montalcini's group termed PEA an autocoid local injury antagonist (ALIA), and suggested that it acts locally to counteract injury.Multiple studies have demonstrated that PEA improves all sorts of pain. For example, a 2023 analysis of 11 studies found that PEA improved pain of various conditions, including muscle and joints, nerves, gynecological, and digestive. In terms of joint pain, a high-quality study demonstrated that PEA significantly reduced adult joint pain compared to placebo. Moreover, 8 clinical trials demonstrated that PEA was effective for low back pain, sciatica, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Even migraine headache pain was shown in published research to be improved with PEA.Lipid mediators help to balance the immune, nervous, and endocrine systems, affecting pain pathways related to inflammation. But unfortunately, due to changing diets, many of us do not get the nutrition and activity we need to make enough PEA ourselves.Supplemental PEA, by Levagen+ is properly formulated for optimal bioavailability, 75% more bioavailable to cell receptors than dietary forms. Levagen+ liposomal delivery of PEA has been clinically studied and shows benefits in joint pain, nerve pain, migraine, infections, sleep, and cognitive function.Learn more about Dr. Mark Stengler, NMDLearn more about Emerald Labs PEA+ Levagen Use the code: Forever and get 20% off your order.

Together, they explore the deeper roots of heart health—beyond cholesterol numbers and blood pressure readings—to uncover how stress, sleep, toxins, and emotional wellbeing shape our metabolic and cardiovascular resilience. Dr. Melanie shares her personal journey from losing her mother to cancer, to embracing her father's unconventional health practices, to discovering regenerative medicine through her own healing experiences. She introduces listeners to her holistic protocol for lowering calcium scores, balancing insulin, detoxifying the body, and restoring calcium homeostasis—all while reminding us that true healing begins with self-inventory and balance. This episode is a call to step off the hamster wheel of stress and quick fixes, and instead embrace the layered, interconnected systems that allow the heart—and the whole body—to thrive.

With over 20 years of experience in clinical research, medical writing, and public health, his work has included contributions to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The Food and Drug Administration, Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine, and The U.S. Army Medical Corps, along with teaching roles in naturopathic education. In this episode, Dr. Paul shares how his path into naturopathic medicine was shaped by both scientific training and personal heritage. Drawing from his background in microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, and public health, along with his mother's Cherokee-based healing traditions, he offers a perspective that bridges conventional and holistic care.  Throughout the conversation, Dr. Paul emphasizes that while medications can be helpful, they may also contribute to nutrient depletion or unintended side effects in some cases. He highlights the importance of key nutrients such as zinc, vitamin D, magnesium, and vitamin B6, along with foundational lifestyle factors like sleep, stress management, cortisol balance, and access to quality food. He also shares practical strategies to support blood sugar stability, including simple combinations like pairing fruit with proteins and healthy fats. Warum kommen manche Menschen trotz schwerer Erfahrungen erstaunlich gut klar, während andere lange kämpfen? Dr. Morgan MacDermott, NMD, a naturopathic medical doctor specializing in perinatal and postpartum health, joins us to explore why postpartum isn't simply a recovery period—it's a complete physiological and emotional transformation. We discuss why American culture celebrates productivity instead of rest, and the critical role of the  “5-5-5 rule."As the conversation unfolds, we move into the realities of early motherhood—how high-achieving women struggle with loss of control, the connection between personality type and postpartum mood disorders, and why relying on intuition matters more than parenting scripts, tracking apps, or “doing it right.” We also talk about the myth of the woman who can do it all, the importance of presence over perfection, and how stability—not constant stimulation—is what children remember and rely on most.Together, we examine how modern mothers can reclaim postpartum and motherhood as a sacred and restorative experience, and how that same understanding can shape calmer, more confident parents -- and children -- in the years that follow.Dr. Morgan MacDermott on Instagram**********Send us a text Needed

Dr Stengler is also the founder of The Stengler Center for Integrative Medicine.Talking Points:Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), is a naturally occurring fatty acid derivative made in the body and found in small amounts in foods. PEA was first discovered in 1957 by scientists at Merck Sharp & Dohme, who isolated it from egg yolk, peanut meal, and soy lecithin.

"There is hope with this disease process that you can get better. It takes the right tools and sometimes it's... difficult to find those when it comes to diagnosis and treatment." – Dr. Daniel Warren   Dr. Daniel Warren is a distinguished Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) specializing in the treatment of cancer and chronic diseases. He earned his doctorate from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. In addition to his NMD, Dr. Warren possesses two bachelor's degrees and a master's degree. His postdoctoral training included two years of family practice medicine and a celebrated homeopathic residency at Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center. He operates at Envita Medical Centers, where he passionately treats patients with Lyme disease and other complex ailments, utilizing an integrative approach to medicine.   Episode Summary: In this engaging episode of "Oh My Health...There Is Hope," host Jana Short welcomes Dr. Daniel Warren, whose expertise lies in naturopathic oncology and chronic illness solutions. Dr. Warren sheds light on his unconventional journey into Lyme disease treatment, asserting that the disease found him rather than the other way around. He discusses the challenges patients face with chronic illnesses and the hope that integrative medicine can provide, blending Eastern and Western medical philosophies for optimal outcomes. Listeners will discover the importance of blending conventional and naturopathic approaches to health, especially for complex conditions like cancer and autoimmune diseases. Dr. Warren advocates for a comprehensive diagnostic approach to uncover the root causes of diseases and discourages reliance solely on pharmaceutical treatments. He emphasizes that the best patient outcomes often stem from combining traditional medicine with holistic care, fostering deeper healing and addressing not just symptoms but their underlying causes. The episode delves into topics from the shortcomings of current diagnostic standards to the critical role of mindset in healing.   Key Takeaways: Integrative medicine, which combines conventional and natural treatments, often yields the best results for complex diseases like cancer and Lyme. Accurate diagnosis requires more than standard tests; it needs a thorough exploration of the underlying causes, often involving advanced and specific testing not commonly used in conventional medicine. Both Eastern and Western medical approaches have unique advantages and can complement each other to address and mitigate the negative effects of treatment, especially in cancer care. The prevalence of chronic illnesses and autoimmune diseases is rising, necessitating a focus on their root causes, which could include factors like chronic infections and lifestyle stressors. Healing is deeply personal and mental; adopting a positive mindset and openness to new treatments is vital in overcoming chronic conditions.   Resources: www.envita.com     Get in touch with Jana and listen to more Podcasts: https://www.janashort.com/   Show Music 'Hold On' by Amy Gerhartz https://www.amygerhartz.com/music.   Get the Best Holistic Life Magazine Subscription!
