Rose Auroras is a sorceress and seer, specialising in Faery & Elf-related issues and spiritual needs. She is part of a spiritual lineage of Celtic origin, but also trained in other spiritual traditions including Trolldom and Hoodoo/Conjure. Many people encounter issues or have spiritual needs related to the Good People (faeries) or the Alfar (Elves). Some may experience Faery-related activity, whether positive or negative, without understanding the reasons behind it, yet they wish to know why. Additionally, there are those courageous individuals who seek to establish a working relationship with the Fair Folk or the Alfar but are uncertain about how to do so safely. Addressing any of these Faery-related needs, and more, is Rose's area of expertise. In the Plus show we get into hybridism, how these entities can manifest. Rose tells us about her fascinating experiences with scrying and what she has seen surrounding people who have availed of her services, including Dark Man spirits. This is a brilliant conversation and hits the Spirit Box bullseye over and over again! Enjoy! In this episode of Getting Stoned, I have my friend, Gail, on and she shares the incredible story of how she scored a piece of Starship wreckage. Gail also shared her favorite gemstone with me and it was one that I don't know too much about. Pearls are something I have worked with, but only freshwater, low-grade pearls. However, pearls are very elegant and it is that which draws Gail and many others into the beauty of the pearl. One thing we talk about is the use of pearls in medicine which I looked into and found an article by Timeless Pearl. You can read that article here. GIVEAWAY ALERT I'm having a 4/20 Giveaway (winner announced and emailed on April 20th) and the prize is a rose quartz pendant charm wrapped in 14K white gold (palladium) worth $150--that's what I'd price it on my website.

If you’re one of the country’s commuting public, it’s likely that you’ve been stranded at least once in your life, and almost always the cause of your troubles is brought about by some form of flooding that cannot, or would not, be explained by public works officials. Author Nikki Alfar offers a bizarre tale on being stranded, in this episode's featured story “ADRIFT ON THE STREET FORMERLY KNOWN AS BUENDIA”, narrated by veterinarian and animal lover Karen Vigo. It first appeared in the Philippines Free Press (2007), and then again in Bewildering Stories. The Bewildering Stories editors loved it so much that it became one of the recipients of the site’s most signal honor, the 2010 Mariner Award. This episode was originally released in March 2011. A lot of the things mentioned in the end may or may not have come to pass. For more accurate updates, follow us on Facebook@PakingganPilipinas or Twitter@pakingganpinas. Hosted and produced by Elyss Punsalan. Story used with permission from the author.

While he was stranded by a storm in Dumaguete, author Dean Francis Alfar felt an acute longing for home. He then decided to create an alternate Manila where "the strange was commonplace" in "Six from Downtown". This audio piece was originally published July 2010 with permission from the author, and read by Kate Aton-Osias and Blue Soon. Hosted and produced by Elyss Punsalan. The story first saw print in Philippines Free Press (2006), then reappeared in Philippine Speculative Fiction Vol. 2 (2006, Kestrel), Dean’s collection Kite of Stars and Other Stories (2007, Anvil), as well as online in the Philippine Speculative Fiction Sampler. The piece won a prize in the 2007 Free Press Awards.

First Story: “The Kite of Stars” by Dean Francis Alfar The night when she thought she would finally be a star, Maria Isabella du’l Cielo struggled to calm the trembling of her hands, reached over to cut the tether that tied her to the ground, and thought of that morning many years before when she’d first caught a glimpse of Lorenzo du Vicenzio ei Salvadore: tall, thick-browed and handsome, his eyes closed, oblivious to the cacophony of the accident waiting to occur around him. Maria Isabella had just turned sixteen then, and each set of her padrinos had given her (along with the sequined brida du caballo, the dresses of rare tulle, organza, and seda, and the diadema floral du’l dama – the requisite floral circlet of young womanhood) a purse filled with coins to spend on anything she wanted. And so she’d gone past the Calle du Leones (where sleek cats of various pedigrees sometimes allowed themselves to be purchased, though if so, only until they tired of their new...
