On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens to discuss several topics, including Josh Allen winning MVP, former coach Dick Jauron passing away, Buffalo Bills Super Bowl memories and instant reaction to this Chiefs vs Eagles Super Bowl Sunday. Unlike several Bills fans and a few media/content creators, Patrick and Joe didn't boycott this Super Bowl and react to it just minutes after the game is completed. But that's just a small portion of today's episode. The guys spend some time reminiscing from Buffalo's four consecutive Super Bowl appearances as best as they can remember, the highs and lows during that four year stretch. It's definitely a trip down memory lane and Patrick also researched some fun fact (well many not so fun) during that time that he had forgotten and many Bills fans probably did as well. They also have a fun little exercise exploring what former Bills player from the Super Bowl era they'd most want to be on this year's team if they could pick anyone besides Bruce Smith. They also discuss what their reaction was to Josh Allen winning MVP last week, former coach Dick Jauron passing away, special teams coach Matthew Smiley getting fired, favorite non-Bills Super Bowls and tons more during this packed episode! Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it's a great place to drink and have a great time. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Blue Sky: @PatrickMoranTB.bsky.social Instagram: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast Learn more about your ad choices. On this Independence Day episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran discusses his recent guest appearance on former Buffalo Bills center Eric Wood's "Centered on Buffalo" show before replaying, with permission the entirety of that interview that consisted of both Bills---and wing talk. Patrick had the great honor of being on Eric's show, which aired originally on June 13th. On the show they discussed Stefon Diggs giving praise to Josh Allen, pushed back at "national analyst" Emmanuel Acho's assertion that the Bills Super Bowl window is completely closed, analyzed Sean McDermott and went over a few guys who could be ready to breakout in 2024. They also discussed several of Buffalo's most well known wing options, including a few both consider polarizing. For good measure Patrick was also asked to share his three favorite places for pizza. With today being a holiday and many people off work and away from their daily routines, we figured this would be a great chance to give this interview a listen if you didn't catch it originally on Eric's show. Speaking of which, make sure you're subscribed to Centered on Buffalo, available wherever you listen to podcasts as well as YouTube. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran disputes any (mostly) national narrative that the Buffalo Bills Super Bowl window has formally closed, but discusses how and why there are plenty of reasons to proceed with caution. Critics and haters alike both nationally and surely some locally have written off the Bills completely after a handful of AFC divisional round face plants coupled with significance player personnel losses over the offseason. Patrick explains why he thinks that foolish on several reasons, ranging of course primarily because of a quarterback as capable of anyone in the sport and a nucleus of teammates that are still ascending and haven't hit their ceiling yet, plus plenty of guys with leadership material to fill voids such as Von Miller, Taron Johnson, Dion Dawkins and Dawson Knox among others. That said, it's fair to argue the Bills have blown incredible chances over the past three years and may not be gifted another opportunity as golden anytime soon. The AFC is stacked and it certainly appears you can add Houston to that mix as well, not to mention Joe Burrow returning to a Bengals team that has owned the Bills over the past two years and of course, back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City that will probably have a significantly better offense than they did last year. Plus, you can't discount how much talent and veteran leadership the Bills have lost this offseason and regardless of how you feel about Stefon Diggs, his trade leaves a very big void in the offense. Speaking of, Patrick has some thoughts on Diggs to share of his own after listening to several guests offer those on the show over the past week. That plus why Patrick refuses to ever call Ed Oliver's contract a bargain, his highs and lows from Wrestlemania 40 weekend and more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran discusses what he feels are the five most burning question marks about the Buffalo Bills as things currently stand. In no way, shape or form is the Bills Super Bowl window closed. They remain one of the better teams in the conference and arguably by the time the NFL draft is over at the end of April, the Bills may end up looking better overall on paper than they did at this time last year. However, that doesn't mean this team is without warts and worries and Patrick tries tackling some of them, offering thoughts on if Stefon Diggs is still a legitimate number one wide receiver at 31 years old, how much Von Miller can and should be trusted with a big role on the defense and if Connor McGovern's the guy to move over to center and play the position effectively in 2024. That plus the lack of depth behind starters Ed Oliver and DaQuan Jones may be the current biggest sore spot on this football team and of course, the biggest question annually will always be if Josh Allen can remain durable and reliable to stay in the lineup every week with the aggressive nature of his game. That plus the Buffalo weather sucks, a note about upcoming mock drafts on the show and more today. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran records live to react in real time just minutes after the Buffalo Bills failed to put the Kansas City Chiefs away at home in the divisional round of the playoffs, falling 27-24 to see their Super Bowl dreams come to a crashing end. The Bills, led by Josh Allen did a tremendous job of sustaining drives with both the run and the pass, putting up 24 points but on this night it was defense and special teams that ultimately let the team down. Patrick has thoughts on the disappearing act of Ed Oliver (as well as DaQuan Jones) for a second consecutive Bills elimination loss, the back seven of the defense being powerless (and also unhealthy) to stop Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense until late in the game, and special teams doing what they've done most the season---contributing negative plays to a Buffalo loss. Patrick also goes against early opinions that Sean McDermott did a lousy job coaching the game. Instead he points the finger at the Bills being unable to hit on any of their potential explosive plays, including a huge drop late by Stefon Diggs in addition to Tyler Bass hopefully making his last kick as a Buffalo Bill. You simply can't perform that badly in cold weather like he did for Buffalo down the stretch. Patrick also has thoughts on Josh Allen and a (very) quick peak into what is shaping up to be a very difficult offseason for Brandon Beane. That and much more today. Ugh. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets.
