Get bonus episodes on Patreon! Seven Episodes into Season Two, Cam has finally seen the matrix — and identified the reason why even this fantastic episode feels so different from Season One. This episode starts with a celebration of David Hancock's fantastic writing, ranging from GRRM-level one-liners to characterizations so powerful that they feel like full reintroductions. From there, we discuss Rhaenyra's deliciously slow turn to the dark side and Daemon's ever-faster descent into madness. We start to close things out with a big ole chat about dragons: how many reptiles would it take to beat Vhagar in a fight? Do riders ever really have control over their dragons? And finally, we revisit Shakespeare to take another look at Alicent / Ophelia. LINKS: Patreon, YouTube, Spotify, Instagram, Cam's stories Feedback & Theories: secondbreakfastpod@gmail.com

If you're a podcaster who has dreamed of having your own book, you'll love today's episode! Last Fall, my good friend Jody Maberry and I co-led a webinar called “Podcast to Published.” The goal of the webinar was to test-drive some material we may later use to help podcasters use their podcast material as the basis for a book. I've been podcasting since 2013, and I'm a huge fan of repurposing your podcast content into books. Let me tell you a bit about Jody. He's a former Park Ranger who is now a sought-after podcast producer, speaker, and consultant. He's been featured in Inc., Entrepreneur, The Business Journals, at Podcast Movement, and many other places. Jody works closely with business leaders such as David Hancock, Lee Cockerell, Dan Cockerell, and others to bring their podcasts to life. In addition, he hosts three of his own podcasts: The Jody Maberry Show, The Park Leaders Show (for Park Rangers), and In the Front Row, a show he created for his son. Jody is not only one of the most brilliant minds in podcasting, but a kind and generous human being as well. I encourage you to check out Jody's site at https://jodymaberry.com to find out more. In this webinar, you'll learn all about the benefits of turning your podcast into a book, including what kind of book you should write based on your podcast, how to outline a great nonfiction book, and the steps to move from podcast to published book. * * * Today's episode is sponsored by Karen Hunsanger, an incredible editor known as “The Word Wizard.” I've worked with Karen many times, and she is your secret weapon for crafting the highest-quality book possible. On tomorrow's ag business episode I am featuring an absolute phenom of agricultural entrepreneurship who is building quite a retail business for the livestock that he raises on his farm. For today's re-cap episode I am going to take you back to an interview I conducted with David Hancock who was doing the same thing when we first spoke, and he has continued to build an unbelievable business since then. The original show notes are below: SHOW NOTES KEY IDEAS: Do you dream of farming and being able to stay on your farm full time? Do you love to share agriculture and what you love about it with other people? Do you enjoy livestock and love to brag about the meat you produce on your own place? If the answer to these questions is yes, then selling retail cuts of your own meat at a farmer's market or on your own place might just be the answer you are looking for. Let's face it, my show is all about using entrepreneurship to support your farming endeavors. Even though this is what I do and what I teach, it does not mean that it is the ultimate goal. Ultimately, all of us would like to do nothing but farm. We would like to be that person who wakes up with the chickens, beds down the cows and only leaves the farm because we want to in between. Our guest today, David Hancock, has a recipe for doing just that. No two farms or farmers are alike, and you may have more or less challenges than David has had to overcome. But one thing is for certain, he loves farming and needed to figure out a niche to achieve his dream of farming full time. He did that through selling individual cuts of meat. David shares a wealth of information in this interview. It is practically a blue print for anyone who wants to find a way to farm full time. David Hancock is a Wall Street Journal & USA Today bestselling author, and the founder of Morgan James Publishing. As the founder of Morgan James Publishing, David was selected for Fast Company Magazine's Fast 50 for his leadership, creative thinking, significant accomplishments, and incredible impact on the industry over the last ten years. I wanted to have David as a guest not only because of his obvious connection with books, but also to talk about the importance of being an author in the first place. David saw firsthand how powerful it can be to have books of your own, which is why he started Morgan James in the first place. Here is something I don't often get to say about podcast guests: we also wrote a book together! Along with our co-author Bobby Kipper, David and I collaborated on a book that will be published through Morgan James next May. It's titled Performance Driven Giving, and it's a follow-up to David and Bobb's first book in this series, Performance Driven Thinking. I'll share more on that early next year closer to the release date. So needless to say, I'm grateful for David Hancock and am thrilled that he's joined me for this conversation. You'll learn about David's unique background that led him into publishing, the benefits of writing a book, and how Morgan James approaches publishing differently. You can connect with David on Facebook, LinkedIn, or Morgan James Publishing. *** Are you looking for a community of enthusiastic, generous writers to help you build better habits and grow your writing business? One of the biggest questions every author must face is: Should I self-publish my book or find a traditional publisher? The good news is that you have a third option. David Hancock, founder of Morgan James Publishing, joins me on this episode to share his company's innovative approach to publishing. David is a Wall Street Journal & USA Today bestselling author, and was also selected for Fast Company Magazine's Fast 50 for his creative thinking and significant impact on the industry over the last ten years. David shares his unusual story of getting into publishing, the benefits of writing a book, and the Morgan James approach to publishing. I have lots of friends who have published with Morgan James, and they have universally praised David for being a publisher who thinks differently and truly supports his authors. I'm such of fan that I recently signed with Morgan James as a literary scout! This company's model is the future of publishing, which you'll see in the interview. *** Need a ghostwriter for your next project? Learn more here: https://inkwellghostwriting.com.
