In a perfect world, you go into each episode of the Memory Palace knowing nothing about what's coming. It's pretentious, sure, but that's the intention. So, if you don't want any spoilers or anything, you can click play without reading ahead. Anyway... John Cooper Clarke - Health Fanatic Been a while since Dr Cooper Clarke made a world service appointment. Can't recommend their album ‘Birth of a New Day' highly enough. 5. Chassol - Music Is God Christophe Chassol want to Calcutta to record sounds & dialogue for his album Indiamore. Gilles Peterson fodder. 6. Spiritualized – I Didn't Mean To Hurt You (Instrumental) Caught Spiritualized performing ‘Ladies & Gentleman…' with full choir & orchestra late 2016, a reminder of how amazing they are in full flow. This is an instrumental version of a track from 2001's ‘Let It Come Down'. 7. Zazou Biyake – M'Pasi Ya M'Pamba Plinky plonky Afro electronic record I picked up that came out back in 1984 8. Notes* There's no, proper, grown-up biography of Margaret Knight (as far as I've been able to locate). Though there are a handful of kid's books of varying degrees of charm and accuracy. She does pop up in a fair amount of "Lady Inventors!!!" collections. I read a bunch of these, but I want to single out one for its rigor: Autumn Stanley's Mothers and Daughters of Invention.

What’s unique and incredibly enchanting about mixes by Roel Funcken is that he doesn’t simply select and lay out his favorite pieces – he also manipulates them into a gorgeous matrimony of sounds. As a long time producer and member of Funckarma (along with his brother Don), Funcken lightly applies minimal effects to already stunning collection of tracks, and dissipates all sudden spikes in transition. This particular mix is full of beautiful music by the likes of Rafael Anton Irisarri, Rival Consoles, Hior Chronik, Nils Frahm, Arovane, Clark, Burial, Deaf Center and many of this other favorites... There is no clever theme to this new mix. I noticed a similar feel to much of the new music I was listening to so I decided to cobble some tunes together in a mix. All of the music in this mix is new, either 2007 or 2008, except for the Andrew Deutsch cut which is from 2005(although it is new to me). The music in this mix has a sort of subdued, orchestral fell to it. I started thinking about this mix listening to the new Deaf Center release. Layers of strings create a beautiful, melancholy experience. That pretty much describes the rest of the music in this mix.
