On this episode of The Brad Jensen Show, I sat down with Joe Sheehey, owner and founder of Cured Nutrition, to talk about something that could massively impact the hemp and wellness space heading into late 2026. We broke down the new hemp ban set to go into effect in November 2026. This was quietly slipped into the "Big Beautiful Bill" and, if nothing changes, it has the potential to wipe out roughly 95% of the hemp industry as it currently stands. Joe shared what this could mean not only for businesses like his, but for consumers who rely on responsibly dosed hemp derived products for sleep, stress management, and overall wellbeing. We also had an honest conversation about responsibility inside the industry. Not all companies have operated with integrity. Some pushed extremely high THC doses chasing profit, which ultimately put the entire industry at risk. We contrasted that with companies like Cured, who have always focused on very low, fractional microdose levels of THC paired with high quality CBD to create therapeutic benefit without pushing boundaries that create harm. Joe shared what listeners can actually do if they care about protecting access to responsibly made hemp products. From staying informed, to contacting legislators, to supporting companies who operate ethically, there are ways for everyday people to make a difference. One of the most powerful parts of this conversation was hearing Joe talk about what this season has taught him personally. Facing the potential loss of a business he has spent the last decade building has forced him into deeper reflection, deeper faith, and a stronger connection to God. Instead of reacting from fear, he talked about choosing clarity, purpose, and trust in the lessons being revealed through this challenge. This is a conversation about business, responsibility, resilience, and what it really looks like to stay grounded when everything you've built feels like it's on the line. If you care about wellness, ethical supplementation, or simply hearing how high level entrepreneurs navigate real adversity, this is an episode you don't want to miss. In this solo episode of The Brad Jensen Show, I pull back the curtain and walk you through my personal peptide protocol. This is not medical advice and it is not a recommendation. It is simply my personal experience shared for educational purposes only. I break down exactly what I'm using, why I chose each compound, what I noticed physically and mentally, and how I think about peptides as a long term performance and recovery support tool rather than a shortcut. We also talk about what to look for when buying peptides, the red flags most people miss, and why so many people run into problems with poor quality sources or unrealistic expectations. If you've ever been curious about peptides, overwhelmed by the noise online, or just wanted a real world perspective without the hype, this episode is for you. What I Cover Why I started using peptides How I think about them as a support tool not a shortcut What to look for when purchasing peptides The importance of purity, sourcing, and realistic expectations My exact stack and why each one is included The benefits I personally noticed Who this is and is not for Why education and responsibility matter Important Disclaimer This episode is for educational and informational purposes only and nothing shared is medical advice. I am not a doctor and this is not a recommendation for you to use peptides. Always speak with a qualified healthcare provider before starting any protocol. On this solo episode of The Brad Jensen Show, I go deeper into something that has completely changed how I move through the world. Learning to disconnect from outside noise and focus on what I actually have power over. We live in a time where we are constantly being pulled into things we cannot control. News cycles, social media outrage, other people's opinions, and problems that are way bigger than any one person. And yet we give them our energy every single day. In this episode, I talk about the idea of powerlessness and how much freedom comes when you stop fighting what you cannot change. I share how the Serenity Prayer has had a profound impact on my life and how it continues to guide my decision making, my emotional state, and how I show up as a father, coach, and human. We talk about why trying to control everything is one of the fastest ways to feel anxious, angry, and burnt out. And why real peace comes from putting your attention back on the few things that are actually in your control. Your effort Your consistency Your actions Your behaviors Your integrity This episode is an invitation to stop carrying weight that was never yours to hold and to start building your life around what you can influence. Because when you stop wasting energy on what you cannot change, life starts working with you instead of against you. If you have been feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or disconnected, this one is for you. Listen in and decide what you are finally ready to release. On this episode of The Brad Jensen Show, Craig Smith and I sit down for a real conversation about the pressure that comes with having a voice online. As coaches, creators, and people with platforms, there can be an unspoken expectation to have an opinion on everything. Every headline. Every trend. Every crisis. And if you don't speak up, people are quick to assume you don't care. We talk about why that isn't true. Choosing not to emotionally attach yourself to every outside circumstance does not mean you lack empathy. It means you're being intentional with where you place your energy, attention, and emotional bandwidth. We dive into the difference between caring deeply and carrying everything. How constant emotional reactivity can drain you. And why learning to detach from what you can't control is often the healthiest move you can make. This episode is for anyone who feels overwhelmed by the noise, pressured to perform opinions, or stuck feeling emotionally hijacked by things outside of their control. Sometimes protecting your peace isn't selfish. It's necessary. On this episode of The Brad Jensen Show, I sit down with Dr Robyn Hanley Dafoe, one of the leading voices in human behavior and resiliency research. Dr Robyn has spent her entire career studying why humans behave the way they do, what actually drives real behavior change, and why some people seem naturally more resilient than others. We get into the science behind resilience, but also the very real, very practical application of it in everyday life. We talk about why motivation alone is unreliable, how environment and identity shape our choices far more than willpower, and what resilient people are doing differently when life gets hard. We also unpack how resilience is not something you either have or don't have, but a skill set that can be intentionally built over time. This conversation goes deep into stress, emotional regulation, adaptability, and how our nervous system plays a role in how we respond to adversity. We also discuss common misconceptions around resilience, why pushing harder is often the wrong answer, and how small shifts in awareness and behavior can create massive long term change. If you've ever felt stuck in old patterns, burned out, overwhelmed, or frustrated that you know what to do but struggle to follow through, this episode will hit home. It's an honest, grounded, and science backed conversation about becoming more resilient, more self aware, and more equipped to handle whatever life throws your way. On this episode of The Brad Jensen Show, the tables get turned. A couple weeks back, I put Craig Smith in the hot seat with our Therapy After Dark rapid fire questions and this time he flipped the script and hit me with rapid fire health and fitness questions that I had zero prep for. No outline, no filters, no rehearsed answers, just real time thoughts on health, fitness, nutrition, mindset, and how I actually think through decisions when put on the spot. If you have ever wanted a sneak peek into my brain when it comes to health and fitness, this episode gives you exactly that with fast paced questions, honest takes, and plenty of nuance instead of black and white answers. We cover a wide range of topics, some light, some serious, some that might challenge your thinking, but all of it is real and unscripted. This one is fun, a little chaotic in the best way, and packed with perspective for anyone who enjoys candid conversations and quick hitting questions. This month's Q and A episode is one of those conversations that went everywhere it needed to go. Craig Smith and I sat down and answered real questions from real people. Just honest perspectives from years in the trenches coaching humans through health, fitness, mindset, and life. We covered things like how to actually find a good personal trainer and what red flags to watch for before you waste your time or money. We had a real conversation around sobriety versus recovery and why those two things are not the same even though people use them interchangeably. This one always opens up some nuance and perspective. We dug into why so many people sabotage their fat loss even when they know exactly what to do. Not from a willpower angle, but from an identity, comfort, and self protection standpoint. We also talked about how to influence your kids to eat better and slower without creating anxiety, pressure, or a weird relationship with food that follows them into adulthood. And of course, we answered a few other questions that always seem simple on the surface but go a lot deeper once you actually unpack them. If you're a parent, someone working on your own health, or someone who wants to understand why change can feel so hard even when the path is clear, this episode will land. Listen in and let us know which part hit home for you. On today's solo episode of The Brad Jensen Show, I brought back one of my old and most requested segments 10 Minutes of Fire. This is a short, raw, and unapologetically real message meant to light a fire under you and get you moving in the right direction. I dive deep into radical accountability. The uncomfortable truth that no one is coming to save you. No one is showing up to fix your health, your mindset, your finances, or your life. And while that can feel heavy at first, it's actually the most empowering realization you can have. Because the moment you take extreme ownership over your actions, your habits, your decisions, and your standards you put yourself back in the driver's seat. This episode is about dropping excuses, calling yourself forward, and realizing that winning the game of life starts with ownership. If you've been feeling stuck, frustrated, or waiting for motivation to magically appear, this episode is for you. Turn it up and Get uncomfortable. And take responsibility for the life you say you want. In this episode, Craig and I introduce a new rapid fire segment where we put a licensed therapist in the hot seat. No long explanations. No therapy jargon. Just quick, honest takes on mental health, emotions, relationships, masculinity, and the chaos of modern culture. We touch on common therapy myths, social media psychology, emotional regulation, boundaries, and where personal responsibility actually fits into the healing conversation. There's humor, some uncomfortable truths, and a few moments that might challenge how you think about "healing." This segment is fast paced, unfiltered, and meant to separate real growth from excuses. In this episode of The Brad Jensen Show, Craig Smith and I sit down to talk about the top five things you absolutely need to avoid this January if you want 2026 to be the year you finally get your health and fitness dialed in. Not another list of hacks. Not another 30 day reset. Not another motivation speech that fades by February. We break down five very clear and distinct mistakes we see people make every single year that quietly sabotage their progress before it ever really starts. These are the traps that look productive on the surface but end up keeping people stuck in the same cycle year after year. If you're tired of starting strong and falling off. If you want results that actually last past January. If you're ready to stop repeating the same patterns and finally play the long game. This is a must listen. Hit play, listen all the way through, and be honest with yourself about which one you've been guilty of before. In this episode of The Brad Jensen Show, I sit down with one of my best friends and one of the top life coaches in the country, Grant Dziak. Grant is a life optimization coach who helps people break through self limiting beliefs and finally start believing in themselves again. This wasn't a surface level conversation. We went deep into why so many people wait until their life is on fire before they finally decide to change, and how to take action before things completely fall apart. We also got into the whole ice bath conversation. Why ice plunges have become so polarizing, why so many people talk shit on them now, and Grant's real world experience doing one almost every single day for the past four years. No hype. No dogma. Just honest perspective on what it's done for him mentally, emotionally, and physically and what he says to the critics. We wrapped things up touching on masculine and feminine energy, personal responsibility, and what it actually looks like to live an optimized life instead of just talking about it online. This episode is honest, grounded, and very real. In this episode, Craig and I kick things off with some classic back and forth, including a spirited debate on Christmas music and which songs should probably be banned forever. It's light, it's sarcastic, and it sets the tone fast. From there, we shift into the world of social media, online comments, and people's deep rooted need to share their opinions whether anyone asked for them or not. We talk about the good, the bad, and the flat out ridiculous when it comes to interacting online and how easy it is for negativity to creep in if you're not intentional. The core of the episode dives into relationships, boundaries, and the people you choose to keep around you. With the new year approaching, we talk about the importance of auditing your circle, both in real life and online. This isn't about aggressively cutting people out or burning bridges, but learning how to set healthy boundaries and protect your energy. We share personal stories and perspectives on dealing with negative influences, surrounding yourself with people who elevate you, and being honest about who actually supports your growth versus who drains it. We also talk about how this applies to your social media feeds and why curating what you consume mentally matters just as much as who you spend time with physically. We wrap things up with a reminder to be intentional as you head into the new year. Your goals, your growth, and your peace are all influenced by who you allow close to you. Choose wisely. As always, plenty of laughs, real talk, and honest conversation along the way. In this episode of The Brad Jensen Show, Craig Smith and I dive into a conversation most people are afraid to have out loud. We start by breaking down the recent firing of University of Michigan head coach Sherone Moore and the ripple effect that happens when integrity slips. Not just in leadership or sports, but in life. We talk about how fast things can unravel when your actions and values stop lining up, and why integrity always catches up to you, one way or another. From there, we transition into the core of the episode and it's a big one. We tackle the taboo topic of losing physical attraction to your partner after they've let themselves go. This is something so many people experience, but almost no one talks about honestly. We break down why this happens, how resentment quietly builds, and why pretending it's not an issue only makes things worse. We talk about personal responsibility, standards, and the difference between unconditional love and enabling unhealthy behavior. We also get into the hard but necessary conversation around when and how to communicate this with your partner. How to approach it with honesty instead of cruelty. Leadership instead of criticism. And how attraction, effort, and self respect are deeply connected. This episode isn't about shaming anyone. It's about truth. Growth. And having the courage to address things before they quietly destroy relationships. If you're in a relationship, this is one you need to hear. In this solo episode of The Brad Jensen Show, I go on one of my classic rants while answering two of the most common questions I get asked all the time. First, we talk metabolism. What it actually is. Why almost everyone misunderstands it. And why blaming your metabolism is usually a convenient excuse instead of the real problem. I break down what's really driving fat loss, energy, and body composition and why the internet has completely overcomplicated this topic. Then I shift gears into a conversation most people need to hear but don't want to. The difference between true burnout and plain old laziness. I walk through how to honestly assess where you're at, when rest is actually earned, and when you need to stop negotiating with yourself and channel your inner David Goggins. If you've been feeling stuck, tired, frustrated, or confused about why progress feels harder than it should, this episode will hit home. What I Cover In This Episode What metabolism actually is and what it is not The biggest misconceptions keeping people stuck and frustrated Why most "slow metabolism" claims are misunderstood The real levers that drive fat loss and energy How to tell the difference between burnout and avoidance Signs you genuinely need rest versus when discipline is missing Why comfort is often disguised as self care How to know when it's time to push instead of pause Next Level Links Nutrition Coaching Free Consultations - Schedule Here Nutrition Coaching - www.becomenextlevel.com Try Thrive Lab Free For One Month - Start Here Order Supplements From Transform Order from Cured Supplement Order from Legion Supplements and get 20% off your first order by using discount code: keynutrition Free Guides: Eating Out Guide - Get The Guide High-Protein Fast Food Orders - Get the Guide Macro Food Options Guide - Get The Guide Join Us On Patreon - Join Here Submit your questions to be featured on our Q&A episodes. On this month's Q and A episode of The Brad Jensen Show, Craig and I sat down and answered a stacked lineup of questions you all sent in. We kicked things off by diving into GLP medications and the big conversation around sustainability. We talked about who they actually make sense for, the mindset traps people fall into, and what long term success looks like beyond just the scale. From there, we broke down my three rules for life and how those simple principles can anchor you when everything else feels chaotic. We also got into the most overrated exercises in the gym and why the flashy stuff you see on social media rarely moves the needle like people think. Another big part of the discussion was the overlap between fitness and relationships How your habits affect your partner, how communication matters more than macros, and how to stay aligned when you and your significant other might be in different "seasons." We wrapped with practical strategies for balancing a busy life Running businesses, being parents, staying consistent, and not losing your identity in the chaos. And of course, there were a handful of other questions we hit that we left out on purpose You will have to tune in to hear the rest. On this week's episode, Craig and I kick things off with a solid twenty minutes of pure holiday chaos and friendly rambling while we try to settle one of the most important debates of our generation. We attempt to figure out what the best Christmas movie of all time actually is. We share some nostalgia, some questionable takes, and way too many opinions for two grown men. From there, I shift gears and play a viral clip from an influencer on Instagram that got both of us thinking. We dive into the whole idea of "pretty privilege," how it shows up in real life, and what having actual standards looks like today. We also start talking about the "skinny tok" wave that's popping up on Instagram. I break down why these extreme aesthetic trends always seem to come in cycles, why they can be dangerous when you make your looks your entire identity, and how easy it is to get wrapped up in something that's only one small part of the overall truth. At the end of the day, that's the whole theme of this episode. Something can be true, but that doesn't mean it's the whole truth. And when any one thing becomes your whole personality — whether it's fitness, looks, validation, or even self-improvement — it usually becomes the thing that breaks you instead of builds you. It's a mix of humor, honesty, and real talk. Today I sat down with Chris Martin, a trainer who has built a massive presence online by doing something rare in today's fitness space. Telling the truth. Chris holds multiple personal training certifications and has made a name for himself by calling out the nonsense that keeps people stuck. He is blunt. He is honest. And he does not sugarcoat a thing. You probably know him from his viral reel where he said that if you are obese, maybe you should not be personal training people yet. That clip blew up for a reason. Chris says what most people are thinking but are too afraid to say. He is not scared of controversy because he cares more about helping people than protecting feelings. This was a real conversation. Two guys who love this industry. Two guys who want it to get better. And two guys who are not interested in status quo advice. We talked about the problems in the fitness space today, why honesty is the greatest form of respect, and what people actually need if they want to change their life. Not coddling. Not hand holding. Truth. There are going to be takeaways for trainers. Takeaways for everyday people trying to get healthy. And takeaways for anyone who wants to see fitness through a clearer, more grounded lens. Chris and I covered everything from identity to accountability to how the online world has distorted what real coaching even is anymore. If you are tired of watered down messages. In this solo episode I unpack one of the most misunderstood topics in all of fat loss. Starvation mode. Or better stated. The myth of starvation mode. I break down what most people actually mean when they say they are "in starvation mode" and why the vast majority simply are not in a consistent calorie deficit. I also get into why honesty in tracking and daily habits matters way more than blaming your metabolism. But I also address the very small subset of people who really do experience something real. What I call conservation mode. I explain exactly what is happening in the body when you diet aggressively for long periods of time. How metabolic adaptation works. How stress, low calories, and low energy intake can down regulate output without you noticing. And why this can create the illusion that fat loss has stalled. I walk through the key signs of conservation mode and how to course correct. More movement. Better recovery. Smarter refeeds. Tightening up tracking. Giving your metabolism and stress system some breathing room so the body feels safe to let go of fat again. This episode will help you understand the truth behind starvation mode, the difference between excuses and physiology, and how to get fat loss moving again if you are truly stuck. Tune in. Take notes. And take ownership of your results. This one runs deep. Pornography is not the fun or flashy topic most people want to talk about, but it is one that needs to be talked about. In this episode Craig and I dive into the real dangers of porn, the darker side of the industry, and why it quietly destroys so many lives. I opened up about my personal experience and the moment years ago that made me stay as far away from porn as possible. It was something I witnessed that changed the way I see the entire industry and the energy behind it. There is a darkness there that I just cannot ignore. Craig brought a powerful perspective as a licensed clinical therapist who has worked with countless people battling pornography addiction. He breaks down what porn actually does to the brain, why it is so addictive, and the subtle but significant ways it impacts relationships, intimacy, confidence, and self worth. This episode is raw, uncomfortable, honest, and absolutely necessary. A must listen for anyone who wants to protect their relationships, their mental health, and their integrity. Tune in. This was one of those solo episodes where I just hit record and let it rip. A little humor. A little education. A little ranting. A little real life. I kicked things off talking about how insanely hard it actually is to accidentally get too jacked in the gym. The amount of people who are terrified of getting bulky from a few weeks of lifting still blows my mind. If only it were that easy. If anything, it was your reminder that building real muscle takes intention, consistency, and way more effort than most people think. I also shared a funny story from my trip to Scottsdale and the conversation I had on the plane with a gentleman who clearly needed Nutrition 101. It was a great reminder that we forget how confusing this whole world of macros, calories, and food choices still is for the average person. Sometimes we have to slow down and keep things simple. There are still a lot of people out there just trying to figure out the basics. And of course, I touched on tipping culture and how wild it has gotten. When the screen flips around asking for a twenty five percent tip and the person literally did nothing but hand you a bottle of water. It drives me crazy and I had some thoughts to get off my chest. Overall it was a hog posh of topics. Me talking some shit. Having some laughs. Hopefully giving you a little infotainment along the way. Tune in for a lighthearted episode with a few reminders that matter. In this episode I sit down with guest cohost Cass Zimmerman for a real conversation about MAHA, the healthcare system, and where the middle ground actually lives between modern western medicine and the holistic side of fitness and nutrition. Today Craig and I are talking about the dark side of the fitness influencer world. Orthorexia. The obsession with eating perfectly clean. The belief that discipline equals restriction and punishment. The extreme routines that get praised online while people silently struggle with guilt fear and anxiety around food. We pull back the curtain on what really goes on behind the "grind" and "no excuses" mentality When discipline becomes obsession Exercise bulimia and feeling like you have to earn or burn your food The influencer pressure to stay shredded year round How the algorithm rewards extreme behavior We give real red flags to watch for in yourself or in the people you follow Panic when you cannot track a meal Cardio as punishment No rest days ever Constant body updates and weigh ins We also talk about how to heal. How to shift from self punishment to self respect. How to build an identity that is not dependent on your macros or your physique. In this very first episode, I break down why I decided to rebrand from The Next Level Health & Fitness Podcast to The Brad Jensen Show. I wanted a space where I could speak more raw, more real, and represent my name — and my name only. No filters. No fluff. Just honest conversations about life, health, growth, and everything in between. I share a few current things going on in my world, talk about what it really means to take ownership instead of playing the victim, and even call myself out for trying to cut back on filler words when I speak. This episode is short and simple — a quick intro to what's ahead. Expect deeper conversations, more real talk, and the kind of perspective that helps you level up in every area of life. In this episode, Craig and I dive into our monthly listener Q&A — covering a mix of mindset, fitness, and lifestyle topics that hit close to home for a lot of people. We covered everything from testosterone therapy and self-limiting beliefs to training styles, getting back in shape after falling off, and whether cold plunges are actually worth the hype. Some of the questions we tackled include: Testosterone only went up 10 points after 9 months on TRT — does that seem off? What are our own personal self-limiting beliefs and how have we learned to work through them? Which is more optimal: circuit-style training or traditional hypertrophy work? If you were in great shape years ago but have since fallen off, what's the very first step to take to get back on track? Our honest take on cold plunging — effective or overrated? This episode is a blend of science, experience, and real talk — no fluff. Whether you're curious about optimizing your health or just looking for a little direction, this one's packed with insight. In this episode of The Next Level Health & Fitness Podcast, Craig and I dive into one of the most debated topics in the fitness world — protein. Is there really such a thing as too much protein? We break it all down — the pros, the cons, and the context that actually matters. You'll hear our personal opinions, what we've seen with clients, and what we believe is the sweet spot for optimal protein intake. In this episode of the Next Level Health & Fitness Podcast, I sat down with my longtime coach and friend, Jenn Pinnell — our longest-standing coach at Next Level Nutrition. Jenn and I dove deep into a topic that's at the core of real transformation: intentionality. We talked about what it actually means to be mindful with your food, your goals, and your life as a whole. This isn't about perfection — it's about awareness, presence, and making decisions that align with who you want to become. We broke down real-life examples like how to keep your goals front and center while traveling or on vacation, and how to find that balance between enjoying yourself and staying true to your standards. We also shared tools and techniques to help you regulate your nervous system when emotions hit hard and you feel the urge to eat just to cope. Being mindful and intentional with everything you do will get you to your goals faster — not because you're hustling harder, but because you're finally aligned. If you've been feeling distracted, reactive, or disconnected from your goals, this episode is going to hit home. In this episode, Brad and cohost Craig Smith dive into one of the biggest traps we see people fall into on their fitness and personal growth journey—settling for mediocrity. We unpack how clients often start out with decent but not great effort—and because they still see some results, they start to believe that “good enough” actually is good enough. But that's where real progress starts to stall. Brad and Craig break down: The difference between progress and potential Why partial effort can yield just enough results to keep you stuck How to recognize when you've fallen into the comfort zone of mediocrity Why sometimes a “bad week” that you kept together is a huge win—but staying at that level isn't The mindset shift required to break through from average to excellent If you've ever found yourself coasting on autopilot or wondering why your results have plateaued, this episode will challenge you to look in the mirror and get brutally honest with your level of effort. On today's episode of The Next Level Health & Fitness Podcast, I sat down once again with two of our incredible Next Level Experience life coaches, Frank Young and Cass Zimmerman. We dove deep into all things growth — reflecting on our biggest lessons from the last round of The Next Level Experience and the transformation that happens when you truly start to accept and surrender to life on life's terms. Most people live in denial of reality, and that denial creates massive resistance. We broke down how to shift that resistance, release the need to control everything, and ultimately find sovereignty — that grounded place where you can just be you. The real, raw, authentic you. This conversation is packed with insights, stories, and takeaways that'll help you grow into the next version of yourself. It's that time again — our monthly Q&A with me and Craig. These episodes are always some of my favorites because we get to hit a variety of topics and just riff off what's real and relevant for you guys. We started by talking about the biggest lie we've been told about success, and what true success actually looks like when you strip away all the noise. From there, we dove into how to navigate nutrition in social settings — how to stay on track without being the weird one at dinner, and how to get rid of that all-or-nothing mindset when you're out with friends or family. Craig shared some insight on how to find time to eat as a busy therapist, which honestly applies to anyone juggling work, family, and life. It turned into a bigger conversation about how to actually prioritize yourself even when things feel chaotic. And we wrapped up by getting into what men struggle with most emotionally and why — the stuff most guys don't talk about, but really should. This one covers everything from mindset and success to nutrition and emotional growth. It's honest, it's raw, and it'll definitely make you think. Ethan started at 660 pounds and is already down into the 400s. But what makes his story so powerful isn't just the weight he's lost — it's how raw, real, and vulnerable he's been in bringing all of us along for the ride. We dive into: What it's like to grow a massive following online almost overnight How he deals with the haters and outside noise that come with visibility Why he's failed in the past, and what feels different this time around The importance of staying locked in on your own plan instead of being distracted by everyone else's opinions Ethan is passionate, fiery, and destined for big things in his life. On this episode of the Next Level Health & Fitness Podcast, Brad Jensen and cohost Craig Smith dive into a topic that goes deeper than just workouts and macros—spiritual health. We explore how strengthening your spirit plays a powerful role in transforming not only your mindset but also your physical health journey. Many people focus only on the physical or even mental side of growth, but when your spiritual health is neglected, you're missing a key pillar that supports everything else. Craig and I break down: What “spiritual health” really means (without attaching it to any one religion). How finding your path—whatever that looks like for you—can bring clarity, resilience, and purpose. The direct ways spiritual well-being influences physical results, from motivation to stress management. Practical steps to strengthen your spiritual connection and integrate it into your daily life. If you've ever felt like you're doing “everything right” physically but still feel stuck or unfulfilled, this episode will show you why your spirit might be the missing piece—and how aligning it can unlock the next level of your health journey. In this episode of the Next Level Health & Fitness Podcast, I begin by addressing the heartbreaking tragedy here in Utah involving the killing of Charlie Kirk. It's important to pause and acknowledge the weight of events like this before moving into our regular health and fitness discussions. From there, we shift into the main focus of today's show: how to get the most out of a high-protein diet without suffering from the digestive issues that often come with it. A common pushback I hear from clients is that eating more protein makes their stomach hurt or leaves them feeling bloated. The truth is, there are real reasons behind those symptoms—and they can be addressed. In this episode, I break down: Why high-protein diets sometimes cause digestive discomfort The key factors that contribute to bloating, cramping, or sluggish digestion Five tactical, science-backed ways to optimize digestion while still reaping the benefits of a high-protein approach Whether you're an athlete, busy parent, or just someone looking to eat better and feel better, these strategies will help you get the most out of your nutrition without the unpleasant side effects. In this short but powerful solo episode, I share an important reminder: our kids are always watching us. Every choice we make around health, fitness, and lifestyle sets the tone for what they'll grow up believing is “normal.” I tell a quick story about my son Dominic that perfectly shows how much our kids absorb—even hours later. They may not say something right away, but they're paying attention to how we eat, move, and take care of ourselves. This isn't about going to extremes or being obsessed—it's about modeling balance, consistency, and self-respect. As parents, it's our job to lead by example. I also talk about our upcoming Back-to-School Fat Loss Challenge, but whether you join or not, the message stands: with kids back in school, now is the time to reclaim your schedule, prioritize your health, and step back into being the leader your family needs. This is a fiery and passionate call to action for every parent who's ready to step up—not just for themselves, but for the next generation watching. It's a three-part series that dives into one of the most controversial weight loss shows ever — and we went deep breaking it all down. We talked about the pros, the cons, and what the show got completely wrong when it comes to creating lasting results. More importantly, we shared what you can actually take away from watching it — and how those lessons apply to dieting and choosing a more sustainable approach. We also dug into the 2016 research study that followed Biggest Loser contestants years after the show. We gave our take on the findings, what they revealed about metabolism, and what it means for anyone out there trying to lose weight and keep it off. Here's what you'll hear in this episode: Our honest thoughts on Netflix's Biggest Loser documentary The good, the bad, and the ugly of the show's approach Why extreme dieting never works long-term Insights from the 2016 metabolism study Why ownership and sustainability are the real keys to success If you've ever felt frustrated with dieting, struggled to keep weight off, or wondered what really happens when you take extreme approaches to weight loss, you're going to get a lot from this one. Valerie Lusvardi is back on the show, and since her last appearance over a year ago, she's become not only a good friend but someone I've worked with in a professional capacity. We even teamed up to help a girl prep for a bodybuilding show. Val is one of the sharpest minds in the game when it comes to training and programming, and she's just as dialed in with nutrition. Not to mention—she's an IFBB pro, a coach, a wife, and a mom to three boys. In this episode, we covered a lot of ground: Val's journey through 17 bodybuilding shows and the lessons she's taken away from competing. The real power of maintenance calories for women—how to optimize maintenance to build muscle without forcing a huge surplus. How long you can (and should) keep certain lifts in your program before switching things up. The balancing act of being a coach, competitor, wife, and mom—and how Val shows up strong in every role. This milestone episode is a special one. Brad and Craig dive deep into a topic that separates people who stay stuck from those who create real transformation: choosing hard on purpose. We live in a world designed for comfort—but comfort rarely produces growth. In this conversation, Brad and Craig unpack the art of designed discomfort and why leaning into hard things is the gateway to the life you want. They cover: The science behind discomfort and what it does to your brain. Why intentionally putting yourself in uncomfortable situations builds resilience and confidence. How to reframe “hard” so you stop avoiding it and start using it as a tool for growth. The truth that everything you want is on the other side of uncomfortable. This episode will challenge you to stop waiting for change to magically appear and start seeking out the hard things that sharpen you into the person you're meant to be. If you're ready to get unstuck, break through plateaus, and live at your next level—this one's for you. If you've been stressing over every tiny detail in your health and fitness journey… this episode is your permission slip to chill out. I'm breaking down six things you just don't need to waste your mental energy on anymore — from obsessing over your friend's macros, to comparing your progress to someone else's transformation timeline, to that outdated BMI chart that's about as useful as a flip phone in 2025. This is part straight talk, part humor, and part motivational kick to remind you: your journey is yours. The less you stress over the wrong stuff, the more you can focus on what actually moves the needle. By the end, you'll walk away with less noise in your head and more clarity on what matters. In this Q&A episode of the Next Level Podcast, Craig and I dive into a variety of real-life questions you've sent in. We talk about how to genuinely help loved ones when you can see they're struggling, whether getting 15,000 steps one day and 5,000 the next still evens out to your goal, and what to do when you're trying to help a client who clearly doesn't want to do the work. We also cover how to get your menstrual cycle back after it's gone missing, ways to maintain a healthy social life while living sober, and a handful of other topics that hit on health, mindset, and life balance. Throughout the conversation, we share straightforward solutions and tactical action plans so you can walk away with steps to take — not just ideas to think about. If you've ever been curious about peptides but feel overwhelmed by the science — this episode is for you. I sat down with my good friend Liz Roman, who's not only a gut health ninja but also a wealth of knowledge when it comes to peptides. And we didn't just talk about the usual suspects like BPC-157 or TB-500. Nope. We're diving into 5 up-and-coming peptides you probably haven't heard of — but need to. From improving your cellular health, to boosting libido, to supporting fat loss, these lesser-known compounds could be game changers if used strategically. Liz broke everything down in a super approachable way — backed by research but easy to digest (pun intended if you're a gut health nerd). Whether you're new to peptides or looking for the next-level edge, you'll get a ton out of this one. In this episode, Craig and I cover a handful of great questions that came through — all totally different topics, but all worth talking about. We kicked it off with a topic I'm super passionate about — morning sunlight. I get fired up about this one because too many people online treat it like some trendy “biohack” scam, when the reality is it's one of the most simple and powerful ways to anchor your circadian rhythm, boost mood, improve sleep, and regulate hormones. It's not some gimmick — it's real and it works. If you've been skipping it, you'll want to hear this one. Then we dove into a common question: Should your training intensity drop when you're in a fat-loss phase? Craig and I broke down how to approach lifting while in a calorie deficit — the difference between intensity vs. volume, what needs to shift (and what doesn't), and how to keep your strength while cutting. Finally, we answered a question from a teenage girl just starting out in the coaching space. She's been through her own journey, including overcoming an eating disorder, and asked what advice we'd give to someone like her. Between Craig and I, we laid out some heartfelt and real feedback about staying authentic, walking the walk, and why your story is your superpower. This episode had a little of everything — tune in! In this episode of The Next Level Health & Fitness Podcast, Craig Smith (licensed clinical therapist) and I dive into some of the most overused and overrated therapy sayings floating around in the personal development and mental health space. You've heard them before—those catchy little one-liners that get thrown around like gospel in therapy rooms, Instagram posts, and coaching circles. And sure, some of them hold truth… but others? They're either wildly overhyped, taken out of context, or in some cases, straight-up harmful when misapplied. Craig brings the clinical perspective, breaking down why certain sayings might sound nice but don't hold up in real-world application. I toss in my two cents from a coaching standpoint, sharing where I've seen clients latch onto these quotes like life mottos—only to end up more confused or stuck. We're not here to bash therapy or growth work—we're both all in on that journey—but sometimes the real work starts when you stop hiding behind a quote and start asking what actually applies to you and your healing. Whether you're in therapy, coaching, or just working on becoming a better version of you—this episode will challenge you to think a little deeper about the words you live by. In this episode, I sit down with the one and only Jon Anderson—a man whose story will leave you fired up to go crush your goals. Jon went from being a kid who couldn't read or write and was placed in resource classes… to becoming a professional wrestler, an IFBB pro bodybuilder, a multi-seven-figure entrepreneur, and now the founder of Peptide University. The first half of this episode dives deep into Jon's inspiring journey—how he built success against all odds using nothing but grit, belief, and an insane work ethic. This is about mindset. This is about refusing to be counted out. In the second half, we switch gears and geek out on all things peptides—what they are, what they do, and how Jon is on a mission to educate the masses through his new venture. If you're ready to be inspired and educated in one powerful conversation, don't miss this one. ⸻ What You'll Hear: Jon's raw and real story from learning disability to pro athlete The mindset of never backing down, even when the odds are stacked How Jon became a 7-figure entrepreneur Peptides 101: What you need to know How Peptide University is changing the game in education and transformation Max Performance University - Click Here Max Performance Peptides - Click Here Next Level Experience Waitlist - Join Here Free Guides: Eating Out Guide - Get The Guide Hight Protein Fast Food Orders - Get the Guide Macro Food Options Guide - Get The Guide Join Us On Patreon - Join Here Submit your questions to be featured on our Q&A episodes. You hear it all the time—“I'm doing the work.” But what does that actually mean? In this solo episode, I dive into what personal development really looks like beyond just reading books or listening to podcasts. I share a recent day where everything went sideways—including my dog getting bit by a rattlesnake—and how that chaos tested everything I've been practicing. It's easy to feel like we're making progress when life is smooth. But the real work shows up in how we respond when things fall apart. This episode is a raw reflection on handling adversity, perspective shifts, and the compound power of small, consistent actions. If you've ever wondered whether the daily “boring” habits are worth it—this one's for you. In this episode, I sit down with CJ and Syd Spjute—a powerhouse husband-and-wife duo who not only compete together in bodybuilding, but coach clients and raise a family together, too. They've lost over 150 pounds combined and built a strong Instagram following by simply sharing their truth: transformation, faith, family, and fitness. We talked about: How fitness became the glue for their relationship and family How they involve their kids in the journey The way they keep God and family first, even in the chaos of prep What it's really like doing bodybuilding show prep as a couple The biggest lessons they've learned from being out of shape to getting completely dialed in How they handle judgment from others—especially from close circles The balance between discipline, business, and being present parents This one was inspiring, real, and packed with perspective shifts. In this episode of The Next Level Health & Business Podcast, Brad Jensen and Craig Smith dive into the deep importance of connection, community, and surrounding yourself with like-minded people. We kick things off by recapping the recent Next Level Experience annual in-person retreat—an unforgettable weekend full of breakthroughs, vulnerability, and real connection.
