Das sind neben dem Titelsong auch "The Logical Song", "Goodbye Stranger" und "Take The Long Way Home". Ein Jahr später — in neuer Formation — veröffentlichen sie "Crime of the Century". __________ Über diese Songs vom Album "Breakfast in America" wird im Podcast gesprochen (04:49) – "The Logical Song"(14:18) – "Gone Hollywood"(21:40) – "Gone Hollywood"(22:24) – "Child of Vision"(29:24) – "The Logical Song"(48:12) – "Goodbye Stranger"(56:03) – "Breakfast in America"(01:03:54) – "Take the Long Way Home"__________ Über diese Songs wird außerdem im Podcast gesprochen (26:34) – "Here Comes the Sun" von The Beatles(01:40:12) – "Hyper Hyper" von Scooter(01:10:43) – "When We Were Young" von David Guetta und Kim Petras(01:11:07) – "Cry Cry Cry" von Coldplay(01:11:41) – "It Might Be Time" von Tame Impala (Prod. I've been playing a bulk of my musical career with Justin Redden. We started an acoustic duo about 13 or 14 years ago, formed a couple bands together... The Abe Froman Project, We're Going Streaking, Fringe Benefits and a few one-offs and, of course, our current project with Bill and Fitch... The Pub Kings. We spend a lot of time talking about beer and breweries but hit on a few cover band topics like song selections and booking venues that fit the band's needs and wants. It was a fun conversation with my good friend Justin... enjoy! Folge 724.

On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville edition, we are joined by singer/songwriter's Amanda Kate and Riley Braker!AMANDA KATEBorn in a no-stop-light-town in Red River, NM, Amanda Kate Ferris grew up equally inspired by her small-town upbringing and her mother, Kathy Wright, an artist and entertainer herself. As one of the original “Dean Martin Golddiggers” on the 1960's TV show, 18-year-old Kathy often collaborated with The Rat Pack's crooners, embracing the era's glamour. The apple didn't fall far from the tree, and young Amanda was singing as early as two years old. Inspired by her mother's tales of performing on the stage and screen, she developed her own voice in the church. Amanda added songwriting to her repertoire at age 14, looking again to follow in her mother's footsteps as a full-time musician and artist. During her mother's long sets at Honky Tonks between California, New Mexico, and Texas, Amanda fell in love with the music of The Judds, Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, Leanne Womack, and Brooks & Dunn, all of which heavily influenced her current sound. Her love of Country music led her to chase her dreams in Nashville. Over the next few years, she went through multiple groups, opportunities, and countless hours spent on her craft in Music City. On the brink of letting these long sought-after dreams go, Amanda decided that she needed a change of pace and settled in with her family. After she and her husband welcomed their first child, Amanda was back on stage, this time performing Carrie Underwood songs in a national touring cover band, Blown Away. Their incredible renditions of Underwood's hits led to an unsolicited and highly coveted spot on Executive Producer Jimmy Fallon's new show for E!, “Clash of the Cover Bands.” Through Underwood's iconic songs, Amanda was able to fulfill her love of entertaining and singing, but she felt a calling to again create her own original music. The show was a full circle moment for Ferris, appearing on the same network that gave her mother her start over 50 years ago. Off-screen, this allowed Amanda the opportunity to highlight her new original music, simultaneously releasing her self-titled EP to rave reviews, including editorial placement on Spotify's Texas Country Now, the largest Red Dirt Playlist. In early 2022, Ferris' love for traditional Country sparked the interest of renowned producer Jimmy Ritchey (Clay Walker, Mark Chesnutt), with whom she recorded five new tracks reminiscent of the traditional country stylings of Ferris' favorites from the 90s. Look out this fall for “Baby Don't,” Ferris' debut on Texas radio. “Baby Don't” honors her Texas Country roots and showcases her captivating vocals. This lead single will be followed by an EP in early 2023 to reflect upon her western influences and love of Country music history. A cowgirl at heart, she spends any free time riding her horses with her family at Rockin R Ranch in Palmer, TX. On the road, Amanda has graced the stage with such acts as Tracey Lawrence, Bailey Zimmerman, Deana Carter, Warren Zeiders, Chase Rice, Priscilla Block, Casey Donahew, Josh Abbott Band, and more. RILEY BRAKERRiley is a gifted singer-songwriter, with a voice tailor made to tell her heartfelt stories of life as a young adult. She crafts her tales of love, woe, and regret, and infuses her characters with so much life, the listener feels as if they are experiencing the events first handy

It's episode 172 of The Cavalry! Johnny needs backup that bands shouldn't do covers on their albums, just in concerts. Andrew needs backup on childless adults being more grateful to people raising kids. Plus we backup patreon-listner Ryan on consulting with the neighbors before building a fence. Enjoy!
Nichts, was Cyndi Lauper so tut, ist in irgendeiner Form gewöhnlich. __________ Über diese Songs vom Album “She's So Unusual” wird im Podcast gesprochen 09:01 Mins – “Money Changes Everything” 19:54 Mins – “Time After Time” 32:28 Mins – “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” 46:05 Mins – “She Bop” 54:36 Mins – “All Through The Night” __________ Über diese Songs wird außerdem im Podcast gesprochen 11:19 Mins – “Money Changes Everything” von The Brains 18:58 Mins – “Satellite” von The Hooters 38:40 Mins – “Come on Eileen” von Dexys Midnight Runners 52:57 Mins – “Be Bop a Lula” von John Lennon __________ Shownotes: Buchempfehlung "She Bop" von Lucie O'Brien: https://lucyobrien.co.uk/books Musikvideo zu "Time After Time": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdQY7BusJNU Entstehung von "Time After Time" mit Rob Hyman von den Hooters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsAE9mCX3CE Cyndi Lauper – eine "Gay Ikone": https://www.queer.de/detail.php?article_id=46017 Cyndi Lauper über queere Kultur, die sie beeinflusst hat (Englisch): https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/cyndi-lauper-loud-and-proud_uk_571e144ae4b018a884dd24ac Deutsche Albumbesprechung von "She's So Unusual": https://www.laut.de/Cyndi-Lauper/Alben/Shes-So-Unusual-30760 __________ Ihr wollt mehr Podcasts wie diesen? This podcast focuses on musicians and all that comes along with playing covers—either for fun or work. This week, Steve and Tony explore the other perspective...the cover band fan. Live music is amazing. I remember listening to Van Halen on the radio and thinking they were good but wasn't sure what the fuss was about. Then I saw them live. At that moment I knew I was missing out on an important element of a band… the performance. But big rock concerts are more expensive and difficult to get to nowadays. This is why a quality cover band is a special breed. They focus on musicianship, stage presence, and quantity of music to make sure that people are having a great time without much hassle and expense. But what makes a cover band good? Are they pretty much a living spotify or jukebox? How do you pick songs? Do the songs have to be exactly like the original? What gear do you need? Should you take requests? How important is stage presence? And… tribute bands, are they different? Well we will discuss this, and more on this group therapy session with John, on the Tweed Couch. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/tweedcouch/support

"A podcast about the people behind the music that other people wrote, performed and made millions off of and their goals to score a little gas money and cover the bar tab."Don't Quit Your Day Job … sounds like cautionary advice about something that you might fantasize about occasionally, right?Well, Don't Quit Your Day Job is a podcast about and for people in cover bands. You know - the bands that play the songs you like at your local bar or neighborhood events, bands composed of people who do other things during the day, like teach children, take care of animals or manage an IT team... and people who put their sunglasses on at night and make sure you have a good time when you're out with friends! Don't Quit Your Day Job is hosted by Ray Auger, a radio personality and station manager at WMRC or “MyFM 101.3” in Milford, Massachusetts in the United States. Ray has a lot of jobs, and actually I don't think he'd dream of quitting any of them. He's one of the voices behind New England Legends, a podcast exploring the spooky places of New England, but his new podcast allows people in bands to talk about how they pursue their passion for music and entertaining while getting all the other stuff in life taken care of too. The conversations are full of humble advice from experienced, and humorous, part-time musicians, but Ray and his guests pull back the stage curtain for others too, giving fans and business owners ideas about how the nighttime entertainment economy works from the cover band perspective. In this episode of MetaPod, Wendy talks to Ray about the work and relationships involved in being in a band and how bands, audiences and music venues depend on each other to do good business. You'll also hear how Ray turns the occasional live gig screw up into entertainment and about the time he disappointed someone in the audience because he couldn't hit Axl Rose's high parts on Sweet Child O' Mine.Follow MetaPod >>Twitter | Instagram | Facebook
