The return of a much requested STORYTIME from a number of years ago, prior to the big 'purge' of sexual content, that I have always regretted. This STORYTIME is from when I was just 19 years old and had taken a part-time job in construction. It tells of a little adventure that I got involved in during after hours drinking with a couple of the guys who were in their early 20's. This is Part 1 or a 3-part story. Part 2 will be on the air next week, with the brand-new Part 3 coming out a couple of weeks after that. I hope you enjoy the show. ** Please note that there is some sexual content in this story, so steer clear of it if you are offended by descriptive guy-on-guy sex **

When you talk about gay travel in Italy, you must begin the conversation with the Puglia region. It's the top gay summer destination for Italy's gay community, and furthermore, it's recognised as one of Europe's top 5 gay destinations. In this episode of my Fatal Charm of Italy podcast, I spoke with Scott Maxwell. He's from the Big Gay Podcast from Pulia, and he talks to me about travel to Pulia in general, and some specific recommendations for gay travel in Pulia, and throughout Italy.

Misterb&b, like many great start-up concepts, was born out of necessity. Founder and entrepreneur Matthieu Jost sat down with me for an interview and revealed the upsetting homophobic incident that spurred the idea for his company. In a nutshell, a few years back, Jost and his partner applied as guests at a short-term rental in Barcelona during a trip to Spain. However, they were quickly turned down after the owner realized they were gay. They found new lodging in the Catalan capital, but the experience was still painful and disappointing. It got him thinking about what he could do to ensure LGBTQ travelers could find welcoming accommodations all around the world despite their sexual orientation. The ordeal led him to carve out a long-overdue category in the travel industry with his brand emerging as one of the top travel resources for the LGBTQ community.Have a listen to my discussion with Matthieu/ Read the interview at Instinct Magazine and book your next great Gaycation through Misterbandb!

In April 2013 Matthew Schueller made a coming out video. His heart wrenching share inspired a young man named Michael Lindsay who made his own coming out video a year later --which he sent to Matthew. A week later, they met, fell in love and started a life adventure. Today, they own a house in Portland, Oregon, and have become travel obsessed husband. When they left the US for the first time, they quickly learned that there isn't enough helpful LGBTQ+ travel-friendly information available. It is their mission to change that. Through the lens of their cameras and alongside each other, they are traveling the world to better understand the world we live in. They share their content on their website and across their social media channels. Matthew joins us today to help us discover the magic and wonder of the world through a very rainbow colored LGBTQ+ experience! With co-host Brody Levesque

Homophobia in the Caribbean is still a very real thing despite the many advances we have experienced in the United States in recent years. Yet as recent as two weeks ago, at the Sonesta Beach Ocean Point resort in St. Maarten, Mike and his partner Eric experienced discrimination and homophobia, the result of interacting with other gay guests staying on the property while poolside. Accused of sneaking in others using non-existent video footage as proof, Mike and Eric had to defend themselves in the lobby of the Sonesta Resort to the dismay of others, while facing an additional $800+ in charges. Sadly, this isn't the first time Mike and Eric have experienced homophobic discrimination in the Caribbean, and during this episode, gay travelers are encouraged to research their Caribbean destinations prior to booking. Mike discusses this ongoing concern with 20 cruises under his belt as avid oceanic traveler. With important information for anyone that identifies as members of the LGBTQ+ community, this episode is a must listen if you're planning a vacation to this beautiful, but potentially dangerous part of the globe.
