Picking up where we left off in the last episode, I tell you what happened once I left my construction job that fateful day when I followed one of my construction buddies home. **This is a very descriptive erotic story. Please be forewarned. **
The return of a much requested STORYTIME from a number of years ago, prior to the big 'purge' of sexual content, that I have always regretted. This STORYTIME is from when I was just 19 years old and had taken a part-time job in construction. It tells of a little adventure that I got involved in during after hours drinking with a couple of the guys who were in their early 20's. This is Part 1 or a 3-part story. Part 2 will be on the air next week, with the brand-new Part 3 coming out a couple of weeks after that. I hope you enjoy the show. ** Please note that there is some sexual content in this story, so steer clear of it if you are offended by descriptive guy-on-guy sex **

The use of pronouns is becoming more frequent in our culture today. We see it on email signatures. We are asked about our preferred pronouns on doctor's forms. Our servers at restaurants will wear them on their name tags. We know that as believers, we are called to share and show the love of Christ to ALL PEOPLE because we are all created by God. But how do we do that while we navigate convictions we have surrounding questions such as this? On this episode of Everyday Theology, Jacob, Ravae, and Brandon continue their conversation about pronouns and provide some practical steps as you discern this topic in your own life. "I had the first ever lesbian makeout scene on network television on a short-lived show called Relativity. That was another role where I felt really honored to be asked to do that, having been in and around the gay community my whole adult life. In the club scene, it was like all my friends were gay. So I was really happy to represent doing that. When I did my show Positive Me, we were in the middle of a horrible crisis. The AIDS crisis was very real to me and my friends and not real to the people that I knew from New Jersey. They thought it was government hype. They didn't believe in it. And so I couldn't even fathom that. And I had taken a class with Elizabeth Swados about writing satire, and she was very encouraging in terms of what I was doing. And so maybe it was just gumption. I just thought, Okay, then this is what I'm going to do!"From her role as Dr. Lisa Cuddy on the hit Fox series House M.D, to her starring role as Abby McCarthy in Bravo's first scripted series Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce, Lisa Edelstein's range of roles are as diverse talent. Some of Edelstein's feature credits include Keeping the Faith, What Women Want, Daddy Daycare, As Good as It Gets, and Fathers and Sons. She played a Holocaust survivor and adopted mother in the drama television series Little Bird. The story centres on a First Nations woman who was adopted into a Jewish family during the Sixties Scoop, as she attempts to reconnect with her birth family and heritage.Lisa's career began by writing, composing, and performing an original AIDS awareness musical Positive Me at the renowned La Mama Experimental Theater Club in New York City. In the wake of COVID, Lisa began to paint using old family photographs as starting points. Her incredibly detailed paintings capture intimate relationships and spontaneous moments with honesty and compassion.https://lisaedelstein.komi.io/www.lisaedelsteinpaintings.com/www.imdb.com/name/nm0249046www.creativeprocess.infowww.oneplanetpodcast.orgIG www.instagram.com/creativeprocesspodcastArtworks:“Beach Day”, “Marsha”, “Karen” Courtesy of the ArtistLisa Edelstein in the StudioPhoto credit: Holland Clement, Courtesy of the artist
Welcome back to I AM Radio; and while you might love QT with your girls K+K, this week we're joined by dear friend and fellow collaborator, Ciera Thompson. And, the mantra of this week's episode? Just go for it.We got a front row seat to Ciera's own bold moves a year ago when she seized the moment at Sundance to do what creatives, and entrepreneurs alike, do best - make something out of nothing. What do we mean? Ciera wrote a script for a short film back in 2022. She was handed rejections, doubt - from others and self - and generally considered it a passion project she created for herself, but perhaps not a commercial success. At Sundance, the question, “What are you working on?” kept coming up, and Ciera took the chance to boldly call herself what she was - a writer and filmmaker - working on a short about LGBTQIA+ youth. It was as if she had a magic wand, manifesting potential out of thin air. She scored an agent and a funder by the time we left just a few days later.By the end of the year, she ran an oversubscribed crowd-funding campaign, won Film Impact Georgia's highest honor, and brought the film to life in the most beautiful and authentic way.Hit play to listen along as she shares every last high and low of ‘just going for it,' in this week's episode of I AM Radio.Follow along with Take Note here:Instagram: @TakeNoteFilmIT ALL Media FilmsThis is an IT ALL Media Production. “I was fortunate to be able to be out in Hollywood in the 90s and to be able to work early on seminal LGBT-presenting shows like Tales of the City series, and Six Feet Under with Alan Ball. When it comes to Tokyo Vice, I did push hard for there to be a queer storyline because in the late 90s, in Japan, there was a huge thriving gay subculture. But it wasn't on the table to come out because your sexual orientation was considered irrelevant to your obligations to society.”Alan Poul is an Emmy, Golden Globe, DGA, and Peabody Award-winning producer and director of film and television. Joel was raised in an orthodox Mormon home, where rules were king—he never met a rule he didn't follow. His upbringing was one of “exact obedience”. PBS and KBYU were the only TV shows they were allowed to watch. He knew he was different, but didn't have words to describe what that difference was. Family life for Joel was tenuous, to put it kindly. While serving a mission he was released early to come back to Utah for conversion therapy. His parents refused to pick him up at the airport. Joel shares his story navigating his religion and his sexuality. He was a former member and employee of the Mormon church, held stake callings and served as an early morning seminary teacher. After doing all the “Mormon” things, like serving a mission, getting married in the temple, having kids, and serving the church, he still couldn't reconcile an intrinsic part of who he is. This is his story. #LatterGayStories #LasVegas #Mormon #Missionary #ConversionTherapy

We've all got our story and stories. Yet, in this day and age where books are being burned that inform young minds about LGBTQ+ people, it's more apparent than ever that we need a hero. An author hero. That hero is author Greg Howard who lovingly and bravely puts pen to paper, or in this modern age types like a mad man on his computer the stories that bring LGBTQ+ life to spotlight, unlike when most of us were growing up. It is not time to hide the truth, but to print the truth and continue to live the truth and to let our stories, even fictional stories, stake our claim as human beings who do belong in society - no guilt or shame. Here's Greg's story. About Greg Greg Howard was born and raised in the South Carolina Lowcountry where his love of stories blossomed at a young age. Originally set on becoming a songwriter, Greg followed that dream to Nashville, Tennessee, and spent years producing the music of others before eventually returning to his childhood passion of writing stories. Greg's critically acclaimed debut middle-grade novel, The Whispers was nominated for an Edgar Award and his second middle-grade novel, Middle School's a Drag, You Better Werk! is being adapted for television by Harry Potter producer, David Heyman, Heyday Television, and NBC/Universal. Greg writes about LGBTQ characters and issues as his focus is writing the kind of books he wishes he'd had access to as a gay kid growing up in the South. There's also a measure of his own life in all of Greg's stories. On writing, Greg says, “The more of yourself you leave on the page, the more the readers will connect and engage. But once you write your story and send it out into the world, it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the reader.” Also, the author of the young adult novel Social Intercourse, Greg's latest middle-grade offering, The Visitors, will be published by Putnam/Penguin on February 1, 2022. Still involved in the music industry as co-owner of an independent record label in Nashville, when he's not writing books or producing music, Greg enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, and spending time with friends. He currently resides in Nashville with his three rescued fur babies--Molly, Toby, and Riley.
