They share the origins of their show name, Sounds of Survivance, and how the notion of survivance relates to the music they play and informs a way of being. In dieser Folge geht es neben dem Song auch um die Botschaft des Films „Guardians oft he Galaxy 3“. Der Song dieser Folge ist irgendwie das Band, das alle 3 Folgen der Reihe zusammenhält. Mit Redbones „Come And Get Your Love“ geht der erste Teil los und nach dem Abspann von Teil 3 kommt dieses Lied dann auch.  Biblisch kann ich da sagen: „Die Liebe ist das Band der Vollkommenheit – verbindet euch damit – und der Friede zu dem ihr berufen seid, regiere in euren Herzen.“ (Kol3,14f) Für mich sind der Song und der Spruch ein Schlüssel diese Wächter der Galaxy zu verstehen – der Kolosserbrief geht übrigens an die „Auserwählten Gottes“, die sollen bei Gottes Liebesfaden zupacken und dann die ganze Galaxie mit diesem Faden zusammenhalten. Manche Auserwählte machen Angst – die sind besessen von ihrer Mission und blind für ihre Mitmenschen oder allen Wesen mit denen sie zusammen sind.  Aber im Kolosser Brief und in der Art, wie die Guardians im Film mit sich untereinander und mit ihren Freunden und Feinden umgehen – ist noch etwas andere spürbar – auserwählt kann auch etwas anderes bedeuten. Wenn Gott sagt – ich habe euch ausgewählt, bedeutet das nicht – ok, du hast dich bewährt, Gratulation – sondern – ich habe die gewählt, weil ich dich lieb habe – Auserwählt sein als Zuspruch – du bist jemand. Du bist jemand ist eins der zentralen Themen des Films - Zerbrechlichkeit ist keine Schande. Are land acknowledgments meant to honor Indigenous people little more than feel-good gestures? Is wanting to be a TikTok star the impulse to be acknowledged? Nancy and Sarah discuss acknowledgement — Nancy acknowledges tying into her neighbor's wifi! Sarah acknowledges the hotness of firemen! — and why Natives and the arts are getting buckets of it right now, and rightfully so, including for the TV series Reservation Dogs and the documentary Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World. Further acknowledgment: Nancy has no idea what Sarah means when she says she “fell off the cracker” but nonetheless finds the phrase delightful. Sarah acknowledges the instrumental “Rumble” as “the song of juvenile delinquency.” And both acknowledge Michael Moynihan's glorious confusion as he interviews wannabe stars in an LA TikTok house, I mean, how can you not?Nancy hereby acknowledges she flubbed a three-word Creek (Muskogee)-English lesson: Estehvtke (“stahutkeh”): white person; Estecate (“stajateh”): Indian person; Estelvste (“stalusteh”): black person. NB: “v” in Creek is pronounced “va,” i.e., Nancy's daughter's name is Tafv, pronounced “tava,” and meaning “feather.”As for whether “Indian” or “Native” is the right designation as of right-this-minute, let us acknowledge the answer might be embedded in the subtitle of Rumble, and also, that either is just fine.
