In collaboration with Go Short, the Netherlands' premier short film festival (April 1–6 in Nijmegen), we explore the power of short-form cinema. Host Hugo Emmerzael sits down with artistic director Mathieu Jansen to explore why short films aren't just stepping stones but playgrounds for experimentation, bold storytelling, and pushing cinematic boundaries. From urgent reflections on war and occupation to the festival's first-ever dive into video games, this year's lineup is breaking new ground and audiences should take note.Want to be there?
Ep 106 - Cowboys Open Wallets, Wally Goes to New York and We Go ShortWe had a limited amount of time this week, so we do a quick round the horn, spend some time on the Cowboys and Wally gets hyped on the college season and makes a case for UTSA in the CFP. We applaud Scott Van Pelt coming back to the air, and Walter goes gaga over it. Then we hear yet another endorsement for the Big Apple. Though golf is too expensive and Walter Rant #1 is engaged.
On the famous fear/greed index, after spending most of the past year and half in "greed", we've suddenly switched to "fear" over a very short time frame. The S&P has broken below both its 20 and 50 Daily Moving Averages. Inflation printed hotter than expected, making Wall Street start to doubt the Federal Reserve's ability to deliver expected rate cuts. And geopolitical tensions have puckered tighter following the escalation of hostilities between Iran and Israel. Is the exuberant sentiment that drove the past year's bull market now gone? Or it is just taking a breather before continuing to climb what has suddenly become a much steeper Wall Of Worry? For answers, we're fortunate to speak today with market veteran Kevin Muir, founder and editor of The Macro Tourist, the highly-acclaimed newsletter that currently ranks as the #12th largest financial Substack in the world. We don't run out of disk space as often now as we did in the early days, but you might wonder about discarding some old junk even if space isn't a significant problem. Several utilities are available to help you identify the junk. In Short Circuits: Scammers work hard to earn your trust and then steal your money. A Washington Post article about a retired federal scientist who was bilked out of her life savings is a cautionary tale, and we all need to be on the lookout for thieves. • Microsoft's built-in screen capture tool has improved, now including the ability to capture video sequences, but it still lags behind both commercial and open source applications.

Aan tafel: Maan Meelker, Kirsten Ruber & Robert-Jonathan KoeyersMontage: Maan Meelker See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

That Anxiety Guy - Straight Talk And Help With Anxiety, Panic and Agoraphobia
Today we will tackle the paradox of letting go in the anxiety recovery process. The concept of letting go - giving up the struggle - is a key concept in anxiety recovery. But in the context of recovery, letting go is not a thing designed to create instant calm or tranquility. In fact, the initial act of letting go will do quite the opposite. It will likely increase tension and discomfort. Over time we find a reduction in tension. As we progress, we do find increased contentment and calm. This is achieved through the repeated, long-term practice of letting go, even when letting go may increase discomfort at any given moment. --- For full show notes on this episode: https://theanxioustruth.com/195 My books, social, and other links: https://theanxioustruth.com/links Support The Anxious Truth: https://theanxioustruth.com/support Music Credit: AfterGlow by Ben Drake (with permission) https://bendrakemusic.com
From the start of the pandemic, markets have been too pessimistic about humanity's resilience, and the ability of people to adapt in the face of adversity. The result has been a stronger and earlier economic bounce-back. The fact that we have not had a recession-recovery pattern is now being reflected in the policy response.

Harrrh, stelletje zeepokken! Aaaarrr! I just love meeting people from humble beginnings who through hard work, dedication, love and a desire for something more have created a life of freedom and abundance. This week I am meeting with Alex Ikonn who through desperation, ACTION and high level problem solving co-created Luxy Hair with more than 250,000 customers in 165 plus countries and Intelligent Change with the amazing The Five Minute Journal who has sold over 500,000 copies to date. But Alex is so much more than that. He is a son, a father, a husband and a dreamer and creator. WATCH THE VIDEO VERSION OF THIS PODCAST HERE.

With training camp just a week away, the Catch This Fade hosts take to Twitter to find out what the fans are concerned about on the precipice of the new season. K.D. and Patrik solicited questions that took them on a wide-ranging path around the Dallas Cowboys question marks. First and foremost, how does the wide receiver position stack up in a world no longer populated with Dez Bryant? Who gets first crack at filling his shoes? They also dive into which positions the Cowboys would be willing to go light in as they dive into the numbers game and using the practice squad, while also trying to get a firmer grip on the linebacker rotation and how well they'll be able to use all of their pedigreed assets. Sit down, buckle your seatbelt and prepare for another great episode of Catch This Fade!
