2001 studio album by Slayer
POPULARITY
For most SLAYER fans, Tuesday, September 11, 2001, began as every other new music release day would: we all anxiously anticipated stopping by the record store after work to pick up a copy of their brand-new album, GOD HATES US ALL. Words cannot describe the eerily psychotic synchronicity that seemingly linked the atrocities of that day with the timing of the release of SLAYER's 9th studio album. Still, after twenty-three years (and counting), one thing remains unchanged: GOD HATES US ALL may have been the lone moment of redemption during America's darkest hour, chock full of brutally scorching riffs, hostile vocal vitriol, and a creepier sonic signature that makes this one of the landmark albums of the band's career. Get ready to experience “Dumb and Dumber: The Box Set” and keep in mind that “the mind of a psychopath is different than ours”. Prepare to revisit the weirdness of the “sour cream vs mayonnaise paradox”, brace yourself for the answer to “is it chunky or is it crunchy?”, remember that “pizza dreams are the same as fever dreams” and understand that “Bram Stroker” is a much different dude than “Bram Stoker” when you JOIN US for a dive into the sonic devastation that SLAYER fans worldwide “will never forget”: GOD HATES US ALL. George McFly's A Match Made in Space, from “Back to the Future”… Hank Moody's God Hates Us All,” from “Californication”… Dr. Frederick Frankenstein's How I Did It, from “Young Frankenstein”… Some of our best-loved movies and television shows feature books written by one of the lead characters. In many cases, the publication of those “books” becomes a central plot point or a running gag. (Think Handbook for the Recently Deceased, from “Beetlejuice.”) In other cases, those books leap from the screen and onto our bookshelves—IRL, as the kids like to say. That's the case with Look Out for the Little Guy, the in-movie memoir by Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man, as seen on screen in the Marvel Studios blockbuster, “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.” The book was published by Hyperion Avenue in September and became an immediate New York Times best-seller, but here's a news flash: it wasn't really written by Scott Lang, the “Everyman Avenger” played in the movie by actor Paul Rudd. And no, it wasn't really written by Paul Rudd, whose face graces the front cover of the book in stores and online, and as it appears as a prop in the movie. In fact, the book was really written by our guest Rob Kutner, a veteran comedy writer who has collected five Emmys, a Peabody and a Grammy writing for such shows as “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” on Comedy Central, and “Conan,” on TBS. Rob's other television writing credits include “Teen Titans Go,” “Angry Birds: Summer Madness” and “Dennis Miller Live,” and he has also written material for the Oscars, Emmys, and MTV Movie Awards broadcasts, as well as for two White House Correspondents Dinners. He is also the author of Apocalypse How: Turn the End-Times into the Best of Times! and the just-published Snot Goblins and Other Tasteless Tales, with illustrations by David DeGrand. Join us as Rob shares what it was like to channel the voice of a fictional character to craft a page-turning memoir of an ex-con turned world-saving superhero, and to be tasked with the caretaking of the life and legacy of one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Universe. This week's topic is the God Hates Us All cycle. Two weeks ago, all listeners learned about drummer Paul Bostaph's return to the band. Jon Dette got the boot. Spoiler: We haven't seen the last of him. And y'all learned about "No Remorse," their collaboration with German digital hardcore group Atari Teenage Riot. Last week, Patreon supporters heard all about the album Dee-ah-BOL-us in Musica, Slayer's polarizing foray into nü metal, which still rips pretty hard. This week: God Hates Us All, Slayer's remarkably timed first album of the 21st century. The Talkin' Slayer podcast program show is written, deeply researched, lightly edited, and mostly rehearsed, with some production value. Ferris is an award-winning writer. He has worked for Rolling Stone, Alternative Press, The AV Club, and Decibel magazine. He is a fan. He has opinions. He is the author of something like nine books, depending how you count them. Two are about Slayer. The first one is an entire book about the classic thrash album Reign in Blood, which is part of the fairly prestigious 33 1/3 book series. His bigger Slayer book, though, is the 2023 update of the full-on band biography "Slayer 66 & 2/3: A Metal Band Biography, POSTMORTEM Edition." (This is the third edition; it was previously known as "Slayer 66 & 2/3: The Jeff and Dave Years...."). And that book is mostly what he'll be talking about when we're talkin' Slayer. Most episodes are audio adaptations of chapters from that book. Some have original and/or bonus material. Thank you for checking it out. Learn more at... Coop and Radulich are back to review the latest from SLAYER!!!!!Repentless is the twelfth and final studio album by American thrash metal band Slayer, released on September 11, 2015. This is the band's only album recorded without guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who died from liver cirrhosis in 2013 and was replaced by Gary Holt, and the first to feature drummer Paul Bostaph since God Hates Us All (2001). Repentless is also the only album the band released on Nuclear Blast and was produced by Terry Date, replacing Rick Rubin after twenty-nine years and nine studio albums as their producer or executive producer. The six-year gap between World Painted Blood (2009) and Repentless was the longest between two Slayer albums in their career, and it would be the band's last studio album before disbanding in 2019, following the conclusion of their final world tour.Three singles were released from the album: "Repentless," "You Against You" and "Pride in Prejudice". The album debuted at no. 4 on the Billboard 200, the highest-charting debut from the band in its native country. It also topped the chart in Germany and featured in the top ten of almost twenty charts around the world. It received generally positive reviews from critics.Original Airdate 9/17/2015Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsoFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulich
Du är inte älskad av Gud! I avsnitt 163 återvänder vi till vår nya programpunkt ”Metalpodden dissekerar”. Denna gång tar vi oss an Slayer och deras millenniumplatta "God Hates Us All". I am not much of a fan of religion. I am a true fan of Bad Religion which was, is and always will be the most influential band of my life and the source of my entire persona, mentality, outlook and view of life. Bad Religion, to those that know nothing about punk rock, the band or the band members, Greg, Brett and Jay, the founders, Bad Religion is not about hating religion or that religion is a negative thing. To them, their iconic Cross buster, the name means that we don't practice religion in the traditional sense but those that do, that's cool, that is your perogative, it just isn't ours. Brett is quoted saying "Bad Religion is about being progressive and Jesus Christ was one of the most progressive individuals for his time".That's not exactly verbatim but 96% there. I don't know if Dr. Greg Grafffin, yes motherfuckera he has a PhD and I did read his published dissertation on Religion and Materialism, which I understood some of but, only think is the source for the album, The Process of Belief, one of their best albums, featuring Keyoto Now and the hit, Sorrow. The following statements are mine alone and not those if the aforementioned band so I have no idea whether they would agree with my but here we go......Donyou all remember the transitive property using logical inference /reasoning? If a =b and b= c than it follows that a = c. Therefore, if knowledge equals power and power corrupts, according to Machiavelli and his book The Prince, ultimate power will always ultimately corrupts. Clear unassailable login and anyone of reasonable intellect would conclude that God, whom, is omnipotent and all knowing, must be the most fucked up and corrupt person in the universe because he is the most knowledgeable. Boom. Drop the mic or whatever the fuck you want to drop. A jaw or panties. Whatever. I think, no I just fucking proved via logic and reason that God is indeed the Devil or Satan and Religion is for idiots and the evil and basically shitty human beings that dont intuitively know right from wrong or how to be a good person. I don't like religion and I just showed via infallible logic that God is Asshole and according to Hank Moody, God Hates Us All. Californication is my favorite show and I admire Mr. Moody who, is a poor man's version of Charles Bucowski also like Chuck Pallanuk.... Writer of Fight Club, Doomed and Damned. God is the alpha and the omega. He is the dual personality psychopath that George Carlin mentions in his insanely funny stand up bit. To paraphrase, God give you ten things you can't do. And if you do any of those ten things you will go to a place of fire and torture and damnation and complete hell, working with Tessa at the DMV for all eternity, but..... HE LOVES YOU. God is some twisted fucked that says look but don't touch, touch but don't taste, taste but don't swallow. If you're The Jizz Stain than you're fucked because she always swallowed and I appreciated that because waste not want not, right... Anyway, I am sure that I have offended most people o the planet right now and that's ok. My goals is to get people to think about the world around us. Think about what is happening to me and that not one person gives a fuck to help me. Not one human has come to assist me. Everyone has been paid off by Jimbo and accepted bribes to allow this to occur. How could God exist when something this fucked up is the norm and just simply ignored because well shit, I am entertaining and it isn't you, in my place. Well fuck you. All of you. Fuck you. Thanks for being decent human beings and offering help to one that so clearly needs it. Happy fucking Holidays. Fuck you.
Metal Heads! We return to finish what we started, with special guest Dr. David Pizzo. We look at the last four studio albums for Slayer. God Hates Us All (2001), Christ Illusion (2006), World Painted Blood (2009), and Repentless (2015). The boys also discuss the impact of Slayer overall to the metal community & Ben and David talk about the differences in seeing the band live during the Jeff Hanneman and Gary Holt eras. Join us for this tribute to the Kings.
To celebrate our 30th episode, we invited our buddy Matt Berlinsky (@meistermatt) from the Stone & Steel Radio Show (stoneandsteelradioshow.com) to join us as we honor the almighty Slayer. Slayer were the first of thrash’s Big 4 to break up, so we knew it was our duty to discuss their entire discography in extreme detail. We all know Slayer is a great band, but we don’t pull any punches here—Slayer found a sound that worked and didn’t veer from it at all throughout their 3 decade lifespan. If you enjoy Slayer, this is not a bad thing. If you don’t enjoy Slayer, we probably already don’t like you.Closing track: “Angel of Death” from Reign in Blood (1986)Check out our episode playlists on Spotify! https://open.spotify.com/user/motherpuncherincMike’s Picks:Reign in Blood (1986) — Best Album, Personal FavoriteUndisputed Attitude (1996) — Worst AlbumGod Hates Us All (2001) — Least FavoriteAlex’s Picks: Reign in Blood (1986) — Best AlbumSeasons in the Abyss (1990) — Personal FavoriteUndisputed Attitude (1996) — Worst AlbumMatt’s Picks:Reign in Blood (1986) — Best Album, Personal FavoriteDivine Intervention (1994) — Worst AlbumAlbums we discussed this episode…Show No Mercy (1983)Haunting the Chapel EP (1984)Hell Awaits (1985)Reign in Blood (1986)South of Heaven (1988)Seasons in the Abyss (1990)Divine Intervention (1994)Undisputed Attitude (1996)Diabolus in Musica (1998)God Hates Us All (2001)Christ Illusion (2006)World Painted Blood (2009)Repentless (2015)Follow Mike on Instagram @popejesseventura, Alex @motherpuncher, and Matt @meistermatt
Fala galera bituqueira!!!
