Gregory Nesmith has a fascinating background. After being adopted and growing up in Upland, PA, Gregory started his education at the university of Pennsylvania. But when an incredible job opportunity came knocking, Gregory set out for New York where he lived and worked for 20 years. This May, he finally returned home (he reps Philly hard) and finished his Bachelor's degree!!! We get real about how long his fear of starting his own radio show stopped him from creating his platform. Now Gregory is developing Underdogstuff, his new venture aimed at turning savers into first time investors in the areas they know best. In this episode, we discuss:How community can push you to show up for yourself The joy of working on projects that both excite and terrify youHow to manage fear and what catalysts can help you overcome itThe definition of homeQuestion of the Week: Why don't you just take action this week?Send your answers to @nobodycomesheretohide on IGConnect with Gregory @underdogstuff on IG and check out his website gregorynesmith.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Yesterday I submitted an application to the Venture Lab at Wharton “Venture Initiation Program-Xcelerate (VIP-X)” for startups. The application required a pitch deck, filling out a VIP-X questionnaire, and a two-minute video. This was my video. I guess it wasn’t too bad since I found out last night that I’ve made it to the interview review round next week! VIP-X provides participants: one-on-one advising, seed funding, advanced entrepreneurship workshops, and individualized attention to get participants ready to launch their venture. Fingers crossed I have more good news to share later this month. On the morning of Memorial Day 5/25/20, Steven Jackson (Co-Founder at ALLin Lifestyle: https://bit.ly/2GdpQiT) interviewed me about my return to Philly, my work with Bridges 2 Wealth, and what’s next for UNderdogstuff. It was an overall conversation on unpacking the journey. One of the questions Steven asked me was about my morning routine. I shared that my mornings include time for prayer and meditation. He then asked if I would share what I say in the mornings… The audio is my daily prayer and the video (by ALLin Lifestyle and originally aired here: https://youtu.be/O_eHxBPY1qA) is what has been happening daily since Memorial Day. UPDATE: I’ll be returning to the airwaves this fall with a new live show and podcast called “The Weekend Word w/ Gregory Nesmith” powered by UNderdogstuff. Black and brown voters are under attack. Republicans are trying to steal an election in Georgia. Voter suppression is everywhere, but is there anything we can do? On this episode of “Let Your Voice Be Heard!,” Selena Hill, Stanley Fritz, Ilyssa Fuchs, and guest correspondent Gregory Nesmith discussed Georgia’s heated gubernatorial race and accusations that Republican Brain Kemp is using voter suppression tactics to stop his opponent, Democrat Stacey Abrams, from becoming the first black woman to serve as governor in the U.S. They also talked about the laws and strategies Republicans are instituting to suppress black voters around the country.
We believe Christine Blasey Ford just like we believed Anita Hill. But will it be enough to #StopKavanaugh? On this episode of "Let Your Voice Be Heard!," hosts Selena Hill and Stanley Fritz were joined by special guest correspondent Gregory Nesmith for a roundtable discussion about Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's accusations of sexual assault against SCOTUS nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. They also compared the allegations to Anita Hill's accusations of sexual harassment against Clarence Thomas during his SCOTUS confirmation hearing 27 years ago. Has the country learned to believe women or will history repeat itself?

People and teams give significance to the most interesting things – sometimes we give meaning to things that are not necessary or all that meaningful in the big picture of life - Things like a sports game (game 7 of a playoff series), or TV shows (what the main character will say in an upcoming episode), or when making a big deal about the newest iPhone that’s coming out, etc. Yet we don’t always seem to take that same time and energy to give meaning to things that give our life more value - that give our life the real juice – the things that actually live in our reality. Coach Nick and the Dudes of Disruption disrupt how we relate to acknowledging achievements and to look for more opportunities to celebrate – large or small - rather than taking things for granted – rather than living one moment to another without ever “smelling the roses” – after all, what you focus on expands. The disruptors emphasize the importance of creating a habit out of celebrating everything all the time. As part of the celebration, the Dudes of Disruption show celebrates its two year anniversary – the original creators of the show, Gregory Nesmith and Tommy Spero join the disruption.
