In this week's episode the Powell men discuss the #WhiteHouseCorrespondentsDinner and the alleged #assassinationattempt . Needeless to say we're skeptical of yet another #trumpassassinationattempt . The math ain't mathing. Mind you this is the week that #SCOTUS gutted the #1965Votingrights act. It sounds more and more like President Trump is finished talking with Iran, battling media in America reporting we're losing and hearing leaders in Europe say the USA is boxed in. Itchy trigger finger? I'm guessing. And it now may involve something called a "Dark Eagle" missile that is devastating. If they won't end the nuclear program, Trump believes you gotta take them out and try talking to some new leaders. The president is also livid with the Senate here at home over the Save America Act.... really, really livid. Pastor Adam announces he's running against Roger Marshall for Senator from Kansas. I only credit him with one thing... he came out of the closet to become a democrat. Wait until you hear a pathetic interview he did with a college student a couple weeks ago about issues. This man belongs in a church, not DC. CNN reports the black vote in America has moved to the right even more, and likely for good. We have a great Chiefs rookie draft story about the first text he got after he got off the phone with Andy Reid on draft night. Patriots fans have long forgiven their coach Mike Vrabel and we have a horse to root for in the Kentucky Derby Saturday that sounds like a favorite of any Chiefs/Travis Kelce fan.

The media dusts off the “Trump is racist” narrative every election cycle — but the numbers tell a different story. President Donald Trump continues gaining ground with Black voters, including a historic 20% of the Black male vote. And during a Black History Month event, a grieving D.C. grandmother went viral defending Trump's crime crackdown and blasting the press. Meanwhile: Violent crime in Washington, D.C. drops sharply after federal intervention Fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein files intensifies, with Prince Andrew arrested and global elites scrambling A president in Peru is forced out over foreign dealings — while corruption questions linger in the U.S. Germany pushes sweeping censorship authority over elections South Carolina debates corporate incentives for Scout Motors despite record inbound growth Democrat-led sanctuary policies release violent offenders And Chuck Schumer introduces legislation elevating the Pride flag to federal symbol status From crime and corruption to immigration, censorship, and culture — today's episode pulls no punches.
The media dusted off the “Trump is racist” playbook for Black History Month — but the numbers tell a different story. President Donald Trump continues gaining support among Black voters, including a historic 20% of Black male voters in recent elections — unheard of for a Republican. Meanwhile, a grieving D.C. grandmother went viral defending Trump's crime crackdown, crediting him with restoring safety after years of lawlessness in the nation's capital. At the same time, fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein files intensifies overseas, with Prince Andrew arrested as scrutiny grows around elite networks — including renewed questions surrounding Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton. Is this a political realignment? An elite reckoning? Or both?
THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL: CLASS WARFARE AND THE BLACK VOTE Colleague David Pietrusza. Alf Landonproved a poor campaigner, taking long vacations and delivering ineffective radio speeches. Conversely, Eleanor Roosevelt became a powerful surrogate, campaigning for the black vote in the North, even as Franklin refused to support anti-lynching laws to appease Southern Democrats. The campaign climaxed with Roosevelt's Madison Square Garden speech, where he utilized "class warfare" rhetoric, welcoming the hatred of "economic royalists." Although polls suggested a tightening race and the administration worried about the ongoing Depression, Roosevelt's "naked demagoguery" and energetic campaigning energized his base against the wealthy interests opposing him. In 2020, the more than 75,000 members of the Big Stuff community — also known as Sexy Patriots and Big Stufferinoes — mobilized along with 81 million other Americans to send Donald Trump crying back to Mar-a-Lago leaving a trail of urine along the way. Are Black Voters Leaving the Democratic Party? The recent shift in the American political landscape has been marked by an evolving narrative surrounding race, economic challenges, and political allegiance. Not long ago, the United States experienced a racial reckoning that resonated across the nation. In response, corporate America pledged approximately $50 billion to address racial inequities during the George Floyd summer, promising a more equitable future. In the political arena, Joe Biden made a significant commitment during his presidential campaign to choose a woman of color as his running mate, resulting in Kamala Harris becoming the Democratic Party's presidential candidate. However, as the Biden administration took office, it seemed that the urgency to address systemic racial issues waned. Discussions about police violence and the historical injustices faced by Black Americans, including reparations, faded into the background. While the administration avoided the controversial route of massive tax cuts, other economic challenges emerged. Inflation soared, affecting working-class Americans across the country. Economists point to larger global factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine as significant contributors to these economic woes. In this context of unmet expectations and economic strain, a notable political shift is occurring among Black men, who are increasingly expressing disillusionment with the Democratic Party. This growing sentiment is driving some to consider supporting Donald Trump in upcoming elections, despite the complexities surrounding his policies and rhetoric. This introduction sets the stage for a deeper exploration of the interplay between race, economics, and political affiliation in America today, highlighting the nuanced factors influencing voter behavior and party dynamics. Illegals are stealing the jobs of working class American's, many of them black. Joe Biden's inflation crisis has hit minority communities harder than most. All of it serves as a wake up call. Democrat promises never come true. Donald Trump is crushing it when it comes to black voters. In 2020 he got 8%, now Trump is pushing 25% of the black vote. If this holds true, Democrats may never win a Presidential election again. The spending by Team Biden is what drives most of the inflation. Where does that spending start? On White House salaries. Wait til you hear what OpenTheBooks.com uncovered.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
On this episode of See How They Run, a wide-ranging conversation with Christina Greer, Steve Phillips, and Adolph Reed Jr.If there's one thing everyone knows about American politics, it's that there is no way for a Democrat to win the presidency without Black voters. That's one of the reasons why, as Joe Biden fights desperately to stay in the 2024 election, he's made an aggressive effort to shore up Black support. In recent days, Biden has spoken at Black churches, given interviews to Black radio hosts, and leaned on the powerful Congressional Black Caucus to help bolster his political defenses. But there are signs that Black voters may not be ready to turn out for Biden as fervently as he needs them to. in the past few months, polls have shown Black support for Biden slipping to levels Democrats have not seen in generations. So can Biden overcome doubts about his fitness, reverse these trends, and hold the White House? Should we even believe the polls? And are we in the middle of a historic shift in the relationship between Black voters and the Democratic Party? To discuss all of this, D.D. Guttenplan is joined by a powerhouse trio of guests: Christina Greer, Associate Professor of Political Science at Fordham University; Steve Phillips, political strategist, Nation contributor, and author most recently of How We Win the Civil War: Securing a Multiracial Democracy and Ending White Supremacy for Good; and Adolph Reed Jr., Nation columnist and professor emeritus of political science at the University of Pennsylvania.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
