While attempting to help his brother Bobby nullify Death's list, Erik dies when he gets sucked into a malfunctioning magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine by a wheelchair that crushes and impales him.In developing the cast of Bloodlines, Lipovsky stated that he and Stein wished to avoid creating one-dimensional characters, instead wanting to feature ones with layers to them. The reveal about Erik's parentage came from the crew wanting to subvert audience expectations regarding the order of the characters' deaths; one discarded concept involved twins whose birth order was uncertain. Initially, Erik was envisioned as an online streamer who died while livestreaming a virtual reality game. A longtime fan of the franchise, Harmon was cast as Erik eight months after his first audition, with a delay due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Harmon helped influence many of his character's scenes and dialogue by either improvising his lines and actions or making suggestions to the production crew. From the beginning, Lipovsky and Stein hoped to feature a death scene involving an MRI machine, but were unsure where to place such a sequence in the film; they also questioned its ethical implications. In the end, they included the concept as it received a positive response from the production team.Following the release of Bloodlines, Erik became a fan favorite. On the sixteenth night of our #31DaysToHalloween the Mister and our buddy, Zack, join me in reviewing FINAL DESTINATION 5 (2011) and THE FINAL DESTINATION (2025).  In  FINAL DESTINATION 5 (2011), directed by Steven Quale, from a script by Eric Heisserer and Jeffrey Reddick.  In the film, a man's premonition saves his colleagues from a deadly suspension bridge collapse, only for the mysterious mortician to reveal a new rule: a survivor can cheat Death by killing someone else and claiming their remaining lifespan. The friends descend into paranoia and betrayal as they are picked off in gruesome accidents, culminating in a shocking twist where the final two survivors board the ill-fated Flight 180 from the original film, revealing the movie is a prequel.  The film clocks in at 1 h and 32 m, is rated R and we caught the film on HBO Max but you can also catch it to buy/rent on Prime Video.  Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.The last film in the series, FINAL DESTINATION: BLOODLINES (2025), is directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Pierre won out against other frontrunner Stephen James after screen tests with Hal Jordan actor Kyle Chandler. Night Shyamalan's movie Old. Disney isn't shying away from leaning into the projects that feel like surefire hits right now, and their updated release schedule reflects that. Both the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie and Freakier Friday - reuniting Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis - have 2025 release dates with Stitch coming first in May and the Freaky Friday sequel in August. Excitement follows both films, with Freakier Friday taking a look at a grown-up Anna, played by Lohan, and Lilo & Stitch featuring a blend of live-action and CGI that will feature original Stitch actor, Chris Sanders. Fandango announced that Wicked pre-sales, which went live last week for the November 22 release, are only second this year behind pre-sales of Deadpool & Wolverine. Horror slasher Terrifier 3 opened ahead of expectations this weekend to take the number one spot at the box office, pulling in over $18 million dollars domestically, while Joker 2 had a historic drop off of 81% in its second weekend, only taking in $7 million dollars domestically. Radio Silence Productions is returning for a sequel to 2019 cult horror film Ready or Not. Star of the first film Samara Weaving will return for the sequel and Guy Busick and Ryan Murphy who wrote the original will return to write. AppleTV+ has released the first trailer for Silo season 2 starring Rebecca Ferguson. The series debuts on November 15th. The hunt is on for a host for the upcoming Oscars and sources tell Deadline that the tentative plan is to use an ensemble of rotating hosts and ABC has approached Amy Poehler, Dwayne Johnson, and the duo of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman about hosting the show. AppleTV+ has renewed Gary Oldman led spy drama series Slow Horses for a 6th season. A fifth season renewal was announced earlier this year. Prime Video has released a teaser trailer for season 3 of Invincible and has set Thursday, February 6, 2025 for the season premiere. James Gunn confirmed on social media Tuesday that Krypto the Superdog will feature in his upcoming "Superman" film. The announcement was made in celebration of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month this October. Sony has set a release date for its upcoming Until Dawn video game adaptation film of April 25th, 2025. Until Dawn is directed by David F. Sandberg and was written by Gary Dauberman.
