He's taking the acting and voice-over world by storm with roles in True Blood and voices in anime hits such as The Amazing World of Gumball, To Your Eternity, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generation, so it's no wonder that he is a huge fan of a world where cartoons and humans coexist. That's right Jacob Hopkins loves Who Framed Roger Rabbit and he tells hosts Clare Kramer and David Magidoff all about how he was first introduced to the film, his theory about what's really in DIP, and even some behind-the-scenes trivia only on Fanaddicts. Our host Darriel Roy interviews American actor, Jacob Hopkins. Jacob is best known for lead roles as Alexander Drew in the HBO series True Blood, Chad Kemp in, "The Goldbergs," and currently as a voice-over actor.
Jacob Hopkins talks joining the "How To Train Your Dragon" universe, playing a vampire as a child, growing up on TV, and a few times casting told him to pack his bag....when he didn't need to!About Jacob:Jacob's big break came when he landed a role on the fifth season of the popular HBO series True Blood. In the critically acclaimed show, Jacob played Alexander Drew, the youngest (looking) member of the Vampire Authority. Having turned at the age of nine, his character was an impetuous vamp who liked to taunt those around him. Jacob shared the screen with fellow Authority chancellors Christopher Meloni, Peter Mensah, and Carolyn Hennesy as well as lead actors Alexander Skarsgard and his Priest co-star Stephen Moyer. At nineteen, he is making his mark in the voice over world. He voices the lead character, Fushi, an immortal being who takes on the form of deceased nameless boy in the anime series To Your Eternity. The show is based on the Japanese manga series of the same name and is airing now on Crunchyroll. He can also be heard on Netflix's Dragons: Rescue Riders as Axel Finke. The show is a spin-off of the fan favorite movie, How to Train Your Dragon. He also honed his comedic chops as the voice of Gumball Watterson in Cartoon Network's animated hit The Amazing World of Gumball, one of his favorite shows. The BAFTA Award-winning series chronicles the adventures of an amusing twelve-year-old cat with a fair for misadventure, and his extraordinary suburban family, who live in constant conflict with their ordinary town. The second highest-rated cartoon on the network, Gumball has been praised for its “first-rate silliness” and “really clever spin on domestic chaos” by Variety.Jacob is definitely no stranger to the small screen. Following his success on True Blood, he landed a recurring role on The Goldbergs. In this hilarious comedy, Jacob plays Chad Kremp, who is a cool and preppy kid on the surface, but a geek at heart. His character becomes instant friends with Adam Goldberg (Sean Giambrone) as they share a love for all things geeky. The series also stars Jeff Garlin and Wendi McLendon-Covey. Jacob was also seen in the Lifetime Movie Missing at 17, which tells the poignant tale of the struggles a family faces when their teenage daughter goes missing. As the younger brother Andrew, Jacob plays a pivotal role in helping his parents find his missing sister. Other notable television credits include guest roles on How I Met Your Mother as well as About A Boy and Animal Practice.Jacob has also ventured on to the big screen. His first feature film was Priest, where he had a small but memorable role opposite Paul Bettany and Stephen Moyer. Jacob also lent his talents to the short film The Boy Who Cried Fish, where he gave a moving performance as an autistic child. Jacob's performance was praised by fans and critics alike, earning him a "Best Male Performer" award at the Action on Film Festival. In Just a Little Heart Attack he played the very smart son of Elizabeth Banks, who also directed the project. He also starred as the supporting lead in CBS Films Middle School: Worst Years of My Life as Miller. Jacob further showcased his acting prowess in two web series. He was cast in RCVR, which was honored as Best Drama Web Series at the 2012 International Academy of Web Television Awards and Supermoms, where he co-starred opposite Joey Lauren Adams. Jacob will return to the world of film in Carolina's Calling, which stars Antonio Sabato Jr., Stacey Dash, and Savanah Moss. SUPPORT GOD COUNTRY AT: http://www.seedandspark.com/fund/god-country-feature-length-horror-film One year ago, Jacob Hopkins and I drove to a crowded Corner Pub in Nashville, TN to meet a local filmmaker by the name of Jake Parker. It was the first time we had met. We spent the next several hours brainstorming for various video projects before finally addressing the elephant in the room--we all wanted to make a movie. We began to discuss all of the creepy ideas we'd had over the years; comparing influences, nightmares, and eating fried pickles, if I recall correctly. There had been an alarming number of church shootings at the time; all of which seemed to be done in the name of one faith or another. My fiancé's friend had recently been beaten badly by his ride-sharing driver too. He was in the hospital for days. He was gay. So when we asked ourselves “what actually scares us?“, the answer was clear–someone that conducts heinous acts of violence and torture in the name of a higher power. You can't reason with a person that genuinely believes they're doing the right thing, and that's terrifying. So we leaned into that idea, and after one more meeting at that same crowded Corner Pub, we had a rough outline for our very first feature film–we called it God Country. God Country is not an attack on religion. It's an attack on fanaticism. It's a brutal, grim, and uncomfortable film that finds inspiration in genre powerhouses such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and New French Extremity films like Martyrs, Inside, and High Tension. We're bringing that horrifying vision to life by way of gorgeous cinematography and cringe-inducing practical effects that are simply unparalleled in films of this scale. That said, in order to deliver God Country in a truly uncompromised state, we need your help. As of this writing, we're officially launching the crowdfunding campaign for God Country. 100% of the funds we raise will go towards casting, SFX, locations, crew, and Hollywood-grade production equipment along with platform fees and cost of deliverables. We want to redefine what microbudget filmmakers can achieve by obsessing over every detail and sticking to a small but effective and socially relevant story. I urge you to visit our crowdfunding page, view our concept teaser, listen to our pitch, and support truly independent horror from a truly independent team. God Country is a film that will be brought to life by horror fans like yourselves, and we can't wait to share the twisted tale that we've poured ourselves into over the past 12 months. Thank you so very much for your support. Now let's make a movie together.

Look, it was a strange and somewhat disappointing weekend. As is the true MH way, nothing went according to plan. So we did the only thing we know how to do, which is get back in the studio. And damn if it wasn't fun. Some loyalties never die, and the cult of Chucky is letting its feelings be known about the CHILD'S PLAY reboot. In ‘things that may not need sequels but they're getting one anyways', THE GALLOWS ACT 2 is on its way as is the initial stages of A QUIET PLACE‘s sequel. Some gnarly dismemberment is happening in the trailer for LIFECHANGER, but we're not exactly keen on why (though we have our theories). THE APPEARANCE has already been labeled ‘some Jacob Hopkins shit' but surprisingly has Luke's attention, while DARKNESS REIGNS flaunts some amazing creature designs in a very strange found footage setup. Also a press release about a future press release. Not even kidding. Instead of a review this week, we dive into what has been the best, the worst (most disappointing really) and biggest surprises of 2018 so far. We each give our opinions as well as share a few from our social media pages. Are you #Calibrated? Round 3 is Cinema Centipede. Wouldn't you know, it has its fair share of controversy. Rock, paper, and scissors will fall and IMDb pages will fly in the race to 3 points. So crank it to 11 and share this bad boy with a friend!
