Another episode of FlashFax is in the books, and as usual, Alex and Connor get super off topic. They begin the week talking about how dry it is, which they say every week. They then dive into the news beginning with talking about a Rick and Morty spin off show. The show has mixed reviews in Alex's eyes, and Connor is still trying to wrap his head around the Rick and Morty universe. Speaking of universes, they go on a crazy tangent about movie and television universes. They then talk about Dave Filoni's new role at LucasFilm, Jon Faverau's extensive career, and dive into Knives Out. They then discuss “Rangers of the New Republic” being taken off active development, Bad Batch, and finally, a spoiler free review of Army of The Dead. A review of the season 1 of Star Wars spinoff made by Jon Faverau
Todd Komarnicki is an author, playwright, a Hollywood screenwriter and a producer. He’s responsible for such movies as the modern Christmas classic Elf (starring Will Ferrell and directed by Jon Faverau) and Sully, the story about the “Miracle on the Hudson” plane landing (starring Tom Hanks and directed by Clint Eastwood). He’s also a committed Christian who has lost out on projects because of his faith. Todd explains the process of how films go from script-to-screen, dealing with difficult personalities, and how he ultimately defines success, both on screen and off.
Iron Man 2 was released in 2010, directed by Jon Faverau and stars Robert Downey Jr, Mickey Rourke, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell and Samuel L. Jackson. This movie is generally looked down upon and seen as a sacrificial lamb to open up the MCU rather than focusing on it’s own story. This week Chris and Dave take a look at Tony Stark’s second time out and and see whether the criticism is justified.Plot Summary: With the world now aware of his identity as Iron Man, Tony Stark must contend with both his declining health and a vengeful mad man with ties to his father's legacy.Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score: 72%IMDB Score: 7.0/10Metacritic: 57If you like listening to the show and the reviews the guys do, please go to your podcast app and drop a review – ThanksWant to get paid or donate to charity just for listening? Jon Favreau happened to be a fan of his and suggested the thought to Eichner's agent, who told him about it; he accepted it in a heartbeat.Jon Faverau revealed in an interview that he brought James Earl Jones back as the voice of Mufasa because: "I see it as carrying the legacy across. Just hearing him say the lines is really moving and surreal, the timbre of his voice has changed. That served the role well because he sounds like a king who's ruled for a long time."Scar's villainous song "Be Prepared" was originally to be left out of the film due to its Nazi themes which Disney executives were afraid to tackle and also because Chiwetel Ejiofor's voice was not fit for the singing. This drew a lot of ire from film critics and fans. However, the studio relented and put the song back in the film. The hyenas Shenzi, Kamari, and Azizi are named after the Swahili words for "savage," "mighty", and "moonlight", respectively. Kamari and Azizi were originally named Banzai and Ed in the 1994 animated film, but were given African names for this film.Segment: This week in Disney history “Once Upon a Time”In London on July 26, 1951, and in New York City on July 28, 1951 Disney’s Alice in Wonderland (1951) PremieredJuly 29: The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith opens in 1999August 3rd 1990 The animated feature film, DuckTales The Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp is released in the U.S., under the Disney MovieToons label.Segment: News/Announcements “The Newsies Banner”San Diego Comic Con AnnouncementsMarvel Phase 4 lineupNatalie Portman returns as Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and ThunderSegment: Top 4 Ranking “Let’s get down to business” How do we each feel about all these remakes?Top 4 Disney Animated film Remakes we want to see: List1.
