This is a bizarre story of unexpected consequences. In the 1920's the 3 Maritime Provinces still drove on the left, but the rest of Canada drove on the right. With times changing, they switched, which due to a series of unexpected circumstances led to free beef in Lunenberg County for a whole year. Buckle up. ICF announced early this year that it issued a license for its third Institute. The new ICF Institute will be based in Atlantic Canada, in the city of Fredericton, New Brunswick at New Brunswick Community College. The new Canadian institute joins those established in Dublin, Ohio (USA) and Hsinchu, Taiwan to further promote the Intelligent Community Forum's method for accelerating the growth of regions and states by transforming clusters of cities and towns into economically robust and socially stable “Intelligent Communities.” Dr. Simon Potter, the Director for the College Office of Research Enterprise at New Brunswick Community College discusses the importance of the new Institute, how he hopes it will increase innovation and collaboration throughout the region and why New Brunswick was chosen as the site of Canada's first ICF Institute. Dr. Simon Potter joined NBCC's research office with extensive experience in biomaterials, composites, forestry, precision health and genetics applied research. He is responsible for NBCC's overarching research program which, based on its exceptional strength and depth in ICT, is now expanding into new areas such as agriculture, precision health, and educational and accessibility research. Simon holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Edinburgh, a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Bath and has built a global reputation in the implementation of large-scale research initiatives in Canada and Australia.
Because I travel so much, I watch the Weather Channel, or something like it, a lot. I just sat back, this one time, in amazement as I watched them track this monster low pressure system moving across the country. By the time it reached the Eastern United States, that low pressure system stretched on the Weather Channel map from the Maritime Provinces in Canada all the way to Mexico! I mean, it was massive! And everywhere it went, it left flooding rains or heavy snows or even violent weather. In Minnesota, for example, this low pressure system registered the lowest barometric pressure ever. All across the eastern half of the country, the news reported massive power outages, cancellations, delays. For millions of Americans, whatever they had planned just didn't happen. I'm Ron Hutchcraft, and I want to have A Word With You today about "What God's Saying In Your Storm." One thing a night like that turbulent weather night demonstrates is this: God can change your plans anytime. And He may be bringing some weather into your life right now to do just that. Our word for today from the Word of God comes from Psalm 148 beginning at verse 1. It's a Psalm that reaches across the universe to celebrate the scope of God's power and control, and to remind us of the size of the God we belong to. "Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the heights above. Praise Him, all His angels, praise Him, all His heavenly hosts. Praise Him, sun and moon, praise Him all you shining stars... Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, lightning and hail, snow and clouds..." And then this phrase that just leaped out at me, "Praise the Lord...stormy winds that do His bidding." Obviously, this refers to the physical storms that blow through our lives, but I believe it's true of all the stormy winds that hit us: medical storms, financial storms, emotional storms, all those "turbulences" that take things out of our control. They are "stormy winds that do His bidding." If you're feeling some of those stormy winds right now, remember that God is asserting His sovereignty over your life, and your plans, your priorities, and your timing. He is in charge - and sometimes we forget. But as His stormy winds move across the weather map of our lives, we can remember again that "our times are in His hands." If it's stormy right now, consider what He might be trying to say to you. As Solomon tells us, "When times are good, be happy; when times are bad, consider..." (Ecclesiastes 7:14). Is God trying to slow you down? Does He want you to reconsider? Is He trying to get you to change course? Is He trying to get your attention because you've been ignoring something He's trying to say to you or something He's trying to do in your life? Don't just stand there frustrated because His weather has messed up your plans. Don't fight what He's trying to do. Listen for God in this storm! It's hard to be a follower of Jesus when you're a rigid person. Following someone requires flexibility because you never know when your leader is going to speed up, slow down, make a turn, or change direction. Actually, flexibility is fundamental to being able to follow the dynamic leadership of Jesus Christ. And the storm is a lot more bearable when you go with His flow rather than flying stubbornly against it. The stormy wind blowing in your life right now is doing God's bidding. Make sure that you are.

Longfellow's poem "Evangeline."

Professional Pranksters Damon Zwicker, Travis Draft and Randy McDowell discuss their time on the TBS show "Deal with It" and the TRU TV show "Fameless". Randy began his career in show-business as an actor and comedian. He made his mainstream film debut in Elvis, the Emmy nominated and Golden Globe award-winning miniseries, where he starred in the title-credit supporting role of Gene Smith. Elvis was the largest marketing campaign ever produced by CBS/Showtime and was seen by over 30million people. He also appeared as one of the lead roles in Sam Raimi's (Spiderman) Dance of the Dead (Lionsgate) which has gone on to win awards worldwide. He has made appearances in such television shows as "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "Foxworthy's Big Night Out" and most notably starred in the hero role of Phil in Fed Ex's $5million dollar Super bowl Commercial "Moon Office" which was seen by over 95 million people worldwide. In addition to performing stand up comedy and stage comedy, McDowell partnered with comedian Dale Williams for eight years and toured around the country as the comedy team of "N2O" performing all over the US, Europe and on television both nationally and internationally. Here they brought their unique brand of sketch comedy intertwined with short films giving their stage routines a complete multimedia showcase. In 2004 McDowell started The DiXiE FiLM FeSTiVaL in Atlanta, Georgia, where it has become a globally recognized premiere film festival that is held annually every October. The festival has welcomed Emmy Award winning directors, Oscar nominated films and been notably recognized for its "Lifetime Achievement Award" which has been honored to Screen Legends Brian Dennehy, James Best and Andy Griffith. In 2008 F.A. Entertainment went on to branch off with its successful festival and McDowell founded and executive directs the Prince Edward Island International Film Festival located in the Maritime Provinces of Eastern Canada in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. In 2004, McDowell decided to try his hand at producing MotionPictures. He quickly pulled together a team and produced the award-winning short "The Perfect Proposal". The short soon became a calling card for his new production company, F.A. Entertainment. In January of 2006, McDowell moved his new production company to its current offices in Burbank, CA. And branched out the company into a new division called 77 Entertainment which specializes in feature film development and production. McDowell's appreciation for the creative process has made 77 Entertainment a company where new screenwriters with a fresh perspective can join in developing future feature films and television projects based on original ideas.
Gene and Chris present a special episode focusing on the subject of "cattle mutilations," which have been popularized by such investigators as Linda Moulton Howe, who have laid the blame for these mysterious livestock deaths on "aliens." But there are cases of unsolved livestock deaths that have sinister, more down-to-earth overtones. Case in point: Werner Bock and other ranchers of the Maritime Provinces of Canada. For almost 40 years, these ranchers have been victimized by what could be described as a systematic campaign of terror and death. Bock will explain his frustrating attempts over the years to understand what happened to his livestock and who caused it.
