Since 2016, Author Alisa Zipursky has been blogging about her experiences as a millennial woman trying to live a full life while healing from her abuse. As many of you know, I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and I am thrilled that Alisa is my first guest who has written a book about her healing. She wrote Healing Honestly: The Messy and Magnificent Path to Overcoming Self-Blame and Self-Shame to put a book out in the world that honestly addressed the balance of trauma recovery and living a happy life. Going out in the world and trying to be practical or rational about your abuse story to make others less uncomfortable is just b******t, and she takes that head on as an effort to show how it can ultimately combat shame. She is a beautiful writer and on today's show, we get deep into the balance of personal narrative and research in her book, as well as who connected with her when she first started the writing process online. When she got public in her survivorship, the first survivor who connected with her was from India, but she also heard from people in her social circle that they were affected by abuse. She realized it was all around her in this seemingly perfect community in Bethesda, Maryland. The truth is, we are all surrounded by survivors. We chat about:*Her grandmother was Alisa's biggest champion through the early process of her writing her blog (which eventually led to the book.)* How she at first felt that just body memories were not enough to be a legit survivor only to discover this was one of the biggest areas where people connected with her story.* When she shared about a niche experience in her process of facing abuse that she never thought anyone would connect with, that it was exactly what people needed to hear.As writers in recovery we are tasked with writing about what goes on inside us, even if we think we will be stigmatized as angry feminists as abuse survivors (which may be on some levels true, but not so binary). Our job is to show that it is not black and white thinking for healing where you are either thriving or victimized. We get to have many layers and stages of our recovery and it is ever changing. She offers practical strategies for survivors of sex abuse to support themselves in living full and vibrant lives. Book client Joy McManigal has led a varied life from owning a pub in Ireland, working in the movie business, facing bankruptcy, and raising four daughters with celebrity Giancarlo Esposito. All of her life's twists and turns landed her on the decision to write a book that would help young people dodge some of the pitfalls she encountered. Young adults have a lot to overcome and learn, including doubting themselves in today's hyper critical society on social media. Their path will be one of a Good Life if they can discern their values, mission and purpose - tools rarely taught in high school or even college. Her new book, The Good You, was written to press the concept of Help not Hurt out in the world for young adults. She gives four key pillars to look at why you are motivated to make choices in your young life.We talk about the creative process she went through and how exhilarating it feels to write a book. Her moment when she knew she had to write this book came in a dinner conversation when friends were expressing they were struggling with their kids and they asked her, “Why are your kids not so messed up?' She understood all her capacities as a mentor, teacher and coach combined provided her kids the tools they needed from her mothering perspective. The book started as a guide for mothers to not raise kids who are not screwed up, and it morphed into a book focused on how to be a good person in a simple non-complicated way.We chat about:* Writing a true vernacular and terminology for young readers as a midlife writer.* When she realized her self-help book needed her story so the readers could invest in her as an author.* Writing five drafts and how the vision has changed of the book. Her advice to any writer starting the process is to be clear about your motivation for writing a book. Remember why you initially started which anchors you on days you are staring at a half-baked book. She also suggests a writer to be flexible with their book as it evolves. Joy is in the process of shopping her book and so we are rooting for her to land an agent to get this amazing book in bookstores all over America! What a great graduation gift! Matthew is the Executive Director of the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy. He is also President of the International Association of Interpersonal Hypnotherapists, CEO of Anahat Education Group and a Founding Member of The Online Monastery. Matthew is the author of 5 books, including 'Interpersonal Hypnotherapy: Honoring the Sacred in Transformational Relationships'.
Book client Matthew Brownstein didn't originally come to me to write a book. He was looking to better promote his five already written books. I convinced him to re-write his book on hypnotherapy, and today the book emulates a curriculum for his state-licensed Institute of Hypnotherapy. He acknowledges how he had to let Spirit guide him to let the words come through and be okay if the words didn't come. He appreciated the structure I provided to him and had to be in the spiritual flow of knowledge and wisdom. He speaks of rewriting the introduction three times, and being okay with being patient in the process. Matthew as a young person was your average middle class kid, headed to a liberal arts college, until he had a moment of enlightenment. This affected everything about his life, and he felt the desire to meditate all the time and connect to the mystical branches of the world religions. His desire was to connect to love's presence and live in a monastery. He went on a journey to understand oneness. When Matthew and I met, we connected from a mutual respect for the author Michael Singer (The Untethered Soul). He lived on and off in his Temple of the Universe, where Michael would talk about blockages (“sankars”). So Matthew first went to school for acupuncture to remove blockages for people but the higher wiser voice told him he was going to go to Hypnotherapy school. He was quickly blown away by the power of the mind. He found with Hypnotherapy he could remove the blocks. Interpersonal Therapy is his unique brand. It came from him asking the higher wiser voice, what is the spirituality of hypnotherapy? He heard, interpersonal is the answer. The word is about the sacred nature of transformational relationships. Profound, right?Listen in to hear more lessons and insights from Matthew who has dedicated his life to healing people in the body and mind from his lifetime work. We chat about:-What is at the root of negative belief systems-What is at the core of the negative memories?-How we can discover an unforgiven relationship and release itWith his school, and books, Matthew hopes to encourage more people to either learn how to use hypnotherapy for their own healing, or explore hypnotherapy as a profession. You may have heard it said that to GET something different in your life, you must DO something different. The thing is, most people followed a standard strategy to get the career they have. And many of those same people are not happy with the outcome. Go to college, so you can get a job→get a good job with benefits and a 401K, so you have security→ work hard, so they appreciate you and don't fire you→ retire and THEN do all the other things you've wanted to do your whole life. Most people were taught this is how you have a good life. And at one time that may have been an effective strategy. But this strategy is outdated and does not work in today's job climate. First off, going to college will not guarantee you a “good” job. In fact, 39.5% of people who graduate college end up in jobs that do not require a college degree. And more companies are choosing skills and competency over college degrees when hiring. (ie. 50% of IBM's job openings do not require a 4 year degree) So even if you have the RIGHT degree, someone who can “sell” themselves confidently may very well get hired over you. Second, there is no such thing as job security anymore–no matter how hard you work. Companies are laying off, downsizing, and selling all the time. In fact some companies look down on someone who has stayed at the same job for really long periods of time. They think you might not be willing to grow and learn to help move the company forward. Third, who wants to wait until they retire to enjoy life? The fact is, people who suffer and sacrifice their whole life, often end up sick shortly into retirement. And then they can't do all the things they put off in life. Sure, some people are willing to suck it up for 20 or 30 more years. But I'm guessing you want to have a rich full life and career NOW. The problem is, that there's no standardized “formula” for how to get this. In fact, most people don't even think it is possible. But it is! And to do it, you will have to step out of your comfort zone and chart your own path–the one that's right for YOU! It means doing something different than you've always done. It means doing something different than your parents did. And that can be scary. But it is so worth it. And it's why I love helping people chart and follow their perfect career paths It's also why I love interviewing people like Matthew Brownstein on my podcast. I want you to KNOW it's possible. That you don't have to wait until you retire, or have a ton of money saved to step into a career you love. Matthew Brownstein saw a clear and big path ahead of him after a spiritual awakening. But to follow this path he'd have to overcome his own self worth issues. He'd have to be brave and step out of his comfort zone over and over. Gina and Matthew J. Brownstein's take a deep dive into hypnotherapy. Matthew's journey into spirituality, health, and healing began in 1992 with a profound spiritual awakening that made him begin seeking the truths of all the world's great wisdom traditions. This sudden shift into a spiritual view of life led Matthew to change his major in college to Philosophy, yet in time it became clear to him that Philosophy was too intellectual and did not offer the direct experiences that he sought for. Changing his major to Religion, Matthew soon discovered Mysticism and the more esoteric branches which led to his increased spiritual experiences. Not knowing what to do with this knowledge, he then went to his first Acupuncture College to learn more about how energy blockages keep us from health, wholeness, and spiritual realization. CEO of Anahat Education Group, Inc. (AEG), President of the International Association of Interpersonal Hypnotherapists (IAIH), and the Founder and Executive Director of the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy (IIH), the first State-Licensed Postsecondary Vocational Hypnotherapy Institute through the US Department of Education's Commission for Independent Education – License #3448. Matthew is also the founder of Silent Light Publishers (SLP) and the Interpersonal NLP Society. Matthew also studied Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Southwest College of Acupuncture, yet soon found Hypnotherapy and NLP and became fascinated with the mind's ability to heal the body, clear emotional blocks, and restore one to their true self as Spirit. This led to a journey into Hypnotherapy which became a huge foundation of Matthew's Life's Work. Matthew's primary inspiration and mentor for Hypnotherapy has been the late-great Mr. Gil Boyne. Listen to this podcast of Actions Antidote. --- Listen to the podcast here: The Art of Hypnotherapy and How The Mind Works with Matthew Brownstein Welcome to Action's Antidotes, your antidote to the mindset that keeps you settling for less. Today, I'd like to have with you a more specific discussion around the topic of mindset. Most of my interviews are about people who pursue their own paths, go after their passions, and hoping that by being inspired by those stories, you would adopt more of the mindset that, “I can, I will, I should, I am going to be the one to pursue the path that I really want to.” Today, my guest, Matthew Brownstein, is someone who actually focuses on helping people adopt the right mindset. He is the CEO and founder of the Anahat Education Group. --- Matthew, welcome to the program. Thanks for having me here, Stephen. This podcast is all about mindset and you've spent a lot of your life studying the human mind and how we can go about adopting the right mindset. Yep, my whole thing is mindset. That's why I felt we'd be a good fit. My background is meditation, spirituality, philosophy, hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming. Yep, all of those modalities just point to the mind and how important the mind is in helping us to live our very best lives. Now, when it comes to those different modalities that you're talking about, whether it be your spiritual background, your philosophical background, meditation, mindfulness, broader practice around it, or even the neuro-linguistic programming or essentially how we're talking to ourselves, do these all go in tandems or do you tend to adapt it more along the lines of which one is going to resonate with this specific person, maybe someone's a more spiritual person, another person is more into the intellectual philosophy, maybe another person's more into how you train your mind? Yeah, I think they all go in tandem, the way that a plumber would walk in with every tool, or at least in the truck there's every tool, but you have to cater, whether, so even for myself, it's not like every time I go into meditation or do hypnosis, I'm using all of those modalities but, generally, the work I do is client centered so I would just say, “What are your goals?” or, “Where are you blocked?” like where's the issue, where's the goal, and then we just pick the best modalities to help to move towards that, and being client-centered work, I will often present the modalities that I think would be best, like, well, we could use hypnotic programming for this, maybe we could do hypnotic regression for this, maybe you just need to learn some self-help techniques. Once I present what I think could be the best options, I love it when the other person, whether it's a client or whomever, actually picks the modality and then they're that much more empowered to realize it's their journey, not me, I'm just the facilitator. I see, and so does it often happen that your client will then either try something and have...

What's up, everyone? Welcome back to the podcast. Thank you so much for joining us. This is Episode 19. I can't believe it, I just thought about it right now we are almost at 20 episodes, which is just kind of crazy to think about. You know, not that long ago, we just started this show. So, almost 20 episodes in. I just want to say thank you so much, I really truly am grateful to have you here listening have you as a part of the community. I really hope that you're getting a lot of value from these shows and from these episodes. And you know, if you haven't done so already, make sure you subscribe to the podcast. That way you get notifications every time I release a new episode, I'm doing my best to put one out every single week for you. To just bring you some amazing content that we have, you know, Matthew Brownstein has been teaching for almost 20 years now, maybe even longer. He has basically poured his heart and soul and all of his knowledge into many different areas. So what we're doing with this show, is trying to condense that information and sort of bring it back to the light and bring it back front and centre to share it with you in this new format of an audio podcast. Again, I really hope you're enjoying the show, I hope you're getting a lot of value from it. So today's episode is a part two of our little series we're doing on meditation and hypnosis, and sort of diving into some of the differences, some of the similarities, and a little bit of the overlap between what is meditation? What is hypnosis? And are they the same? Are they different? What's going on here. If you haven't listened to part one, make sure you go back to last week's episode because it's really super informational and interesting. And you really kind of get an idea of the fundamentals of what makes hypnosis different from meditation. In today's episode, we continue on with this conversation. And really, what you're going to learn here is that I don't want to spoil it for you or anything. But really, the main difference here is that even in deep, deep meditation, you're not necessarily healing some of those inner issues that you have some of these deeper sand scars as they're called. This is kind of like sort of the main difference between meditation and hypnosis. Because in hypnosis, since we have a practitioner there and a facilitator there, you know, we can really help to heal our clients. If we're doing hypnosis on ourselves, we can really help to heal ourselves from those different things that we're dealing with, whether it's anxieties or fears, or you know, just trauma from our childhood, whatever it might be. With meditation, it's more just a state of bliss and a state of just deep, deep relaxation. At least that's how I understand it. And you know, Matthew is going to dive in and really explain this further. Make sure you're dialled in, you're taking notes. I really hope you enjoy this episode. Let's go ahead and jump right into it. This is part two of the difference between meditation and hypnosis. What's up, everyone, welcome back to the podcast. Thank you so much for tuning in. I really hope you're having an amazing day today. We're gonna dive into a really cool episode, I think you're gonna enjoy this one. Today we are talking about the differences and similarities between meditation and hypnosis. If you are a meditator yourself, if you practice meditation on a regular basis, then you already know that meditation really involves this deep level of relaxation, and peace and just mindfulness. And we carry a lot of this over into hypnosis as well, especially when we are facilitating sessions for our clients. And we're helping them get into deeper levels of relaxation, and thus, deeper levels of hypnosis. But there's some key differences between these two different practices. And today, we're going to take a look at some of what those differences are. We'll also, like I said, take a look at some of the similarities and where these two sort of ideas kind of overlap each other. Now, we are going to dive into a past conscious community Class A recording that Matthew Brownstein has created, where he was teaching, and going really deep on these ideas of meditation and hypnosis, and again, what's different and similar about the two. Now just a couple of things, you know, to make sure that you're listening for Matthew's going to talk about the different brainwaves and different mind states, if you will, that are associated with each of these practices of meditation and hypnosis. And then he's also going to really dive into some interesting perspectives. Because if you don't know, Matthew is a religious scholar, and has spent most of his adult life studying, you know, all the different world's religions. And he's just got such a cool perspective when it comes to looking at these different practices of hypnosis, and meditation, as well as many other things, but understanding them from different perspectives based on you know, what he studied about different religions. So again, this is going to be super fascinating and interesting for you, I really think you're going to learn a lot in this episode. This is going to be part one of a two part series, because these classes, they go a little long as you know, and I want to condense this into two different episodes for you. So this is part one. I hope you enjoy it. I'm back for next week for part two. So let's go ahead and jump in. This week's sponsor is HypnotherapySites, a website design agency dedicated to hypnotherapists. Hey everyone. Welcome back to the podcast. I'm super glad to have you back today for the final part four of this series on how to be successful as a hypnotherapist. So today we are going to pick back up with the review on the Life Mastery course and Matthew Brownstein is going to really dive into all of the different parts of it. There's six different sections of this Life Mastery course and really, it's a binder is what you end up creating. He goes through each section and then at the end, he finishes up kind of giving you a recap of all 12 prosperity principles. So again, remember, this is all to help you be more successful in your business and in your life. In general. This is all about manifesting and creating the abundance and the prosperity, the success, whatever it is that you want to create in your life. This is how you do it. Real quick, just to give you an introduction to what the Life Mastery course is, again, there's sort of six parts. Part one is your core mission statement. Part two is all about your values and life principles. Part Three is the universal laws that sort of govern existence as we know it (and when you understand these universal laws, you can really start to use them to your advantage). Part Four is the live categories prioritized. Part Five is your goals; short-term, mid-term, and long-term. And then Part Six is the 12 prosperity principles. So again, this is a value-packed episode. There's a lot of information that you're going to understand and uncover in this episode, so it would do you a lot of good to have a pen and paper handy. Take some notes. And really use this as a guideline and take action on what you're learning in this episode. Because the value of this Life Mastery course really is what it says it is - it helps you master your life. Your personal life, your professional life, and just gain success in all areas. I really hope you enjoy this part four of being successful as a hypnotherapist. Enjoy this episode. This week's sponsor is HypnotherapySites, a website design agency dedicated to hypnotherapists. Hey, what's up everyone, welcome back to the podcast. And again, just a huge thanks for being such an amazing listener and joining this community. You know this has been a lot of fun so far. I really hope you guys are enjoying these episodes. So today, we're going to continue in this theme that we've been in for the last two weeks, which is all about success as a hypnotherapist. Today is actually part three of how to be successful in your own practice, you know, either as a hypnotherapist or honestly, doing any type of therapy or service-based business, all of these principles still apply. Right? So obviously, we're here talking directly to hypnotherapists, but if you're working as any type of alternative healer or a therapist, counselor, or coach of any sort, this stuff should be helping you and giving you ideas on how you can increase your business and increase your success. So today, what we're going to be talking about is specifically, something that Matthew Brownstein has created called the Life Mastery course. Alright, so we're going to get into sort of an intro into what the Life Mastery course is, and really how to manifest your success and prosperity. Anything that you can imagine that you want for your business for yourself or your success, this is literally how you can do that, and how you can create that. So Matthew Brownstein is going to share with you what he calls "mental technologies". The top five mental technologies that you can use to help manifest this success and prosperity in your life. If you want to learn how to leverage the power of your mind, that's what this episode is all about. So you're going to learn these top five mental technologies, we're also going to get into different aspects of this Life Mastery course. So the first thing is the getting organized process, which is really about you know how to set up this whole process for yourself and for your business. And then we're going to start getting into some things called prosperity principles, which are just basic principles that you need to establish for yourself so that you can start manifesting this prosperity and success for yourself and for your business. We'll call this part three. And then next week, we'll have part four where we'll finish up on the prosperity principles, and then finish up on the Life Mastery course. But there's just so much information I had to break this down into a couple of different classes. So I really hope you enjoy this episode. Hey everyone, welcome back to the show, and super pumped to have you here. You know, we took a little bit of a break last week, so please forgive me for not having an episode for you last week, but I am super excited about today's episode. This one actually goes back to my roots. So talking about marketing and how to really be successful in your business. If you are a hypnotherapist or you're trying to start a hypnotherapy practice, you're really going to get a lot out of this episode. So make sure that you've got a notebook handy with a pin. And you're going to want to take some notes. So in today's episode, we're going to listen back to a past, you know, conscious community class where Matthew Brownstein is teaching a lot of what he's learned over the past 20 or so years running his hypnotherapy practice. Some of the different marketing and advertising ideas that he's you know learned work and what doesn't work, as well as diving into a course that he's created called the Life Mastery course. And there's a lot of principles within this Life Mastery course that can really help you honestly create not only the business of your dreams but the life of your dreams as well. It's really about manifesting and creating everything that you've ever dreamt of everything that you've ever desired and your life you can have it. And so you're going to learn how to actually obtain that in this episode. So some of the cool things that we'll be going over today will be you know, ideas again, that will be things that can help you be more successful as a hypnotherapist. Matthew is also going to show you how to calculate what you can earn as a hypnotherapist and in your own private practice, and then how to get down to certain goals and metrics that you should be setting for yourself. And also, Matthew actually asked four of the school's most successful graduates what they're doing to run their practice successfully. And so we get a lot of really great feedback on you know what other graduates and students are doing as well to run their hypnotherapy practices. Now, this episode is going to be a four-part series. So you know, we're going to get into a lot of what one graduate has to say in this episode, but in next week's episode, we're actually going to cover what three other graduates are doing to run their hypnotherapy practice successfully. So again, if you're a hypnotherapist, or you want to become a hypnotherapist, this one is gold, make sure you're taking notes. And without further ado, let's go ahead and jump into it. This week's sponsor is HypnotherapySites, a website design agency dedicated to hypnotherapists. Get 20% OFF a custom website for your practice: www.hypnotherapysites.com/illuminated
Hey, everyone, welcome back to the podcast and welcome to part two of how A Course in Miracles can brighten your life. So we left off in the last episode with Matthew Brownstein talking about this idea of suffering, right, and how we all suffer in our life, because of this disconnect from our Creator. Now, however you see God, whatever you call that, right, this idea of a higher power, a higher being a creator of this life that we live, all suffering comes from this separation from that source. We're here on Earth, thinking that we are on our own, right, that we're alone, and that we're left to deal with our life. And this is what creates all of the different types of suffering in the world by thinking that we are having to take it all on ourselves, and whatever you might be feeling whether it's fear, or pain, or guilt, or shame, or any of the other negative feelings that arise, really out of the base emotion of fear stems from this fear of being alone. And so this is really what Matthew is talking about. And we're gonna pick right back up into the conversation. And yeah, there's just so much to learn. So I really hope you're enjoying these episodes. I really appreciate you listening. And if you haven't already, please make sure you leave us a rating and review on iTunes. Let us know what you think about the show. And if you have any ideas for topics that you'd like us to cover, let us know that as well. All right, let's get right into it.
Hey, everyone, welcome back to illuminated mind. This is your podcast for exploring some of the deeper ideas about what it means to be human in today's complex world. I'm your host, Corey Benschop. And I really appreciate you tuning in today. So I've personally been on this journey of spiritual development and discovery for the last couple of years. And something that's been popping up on my radar recently, is this book called A Course in Miracles. Maybe you're familiar with it, but if not it, from what I understand, it's basically the self study manual that includes 365 daily lessons that you can follow, that help you move into a way of being that just is more peaceful and fulfilling. It seems like it helps you go from this ego centric sort of fear based mindset into more of a vibration of love, and coming from a place of spirit. And as I've been going through my hypnotherapy training, and learning more about Matthew Brownstein and his teachings, I've heard him talk about this book called A Course in Miracles. Now, he's referenced it many times. And so I wanted to bring him on and ask him to explain to me and to us, what is a course in miracles? And you know, why should we be paying attention, I really am a firm believer that if something enters your life, once, you know, it could be happenstance or whatever, it could be chance, if it enters your life twice. Well, maybe that's a coincidence, but I really don't believe in coincidences. But the third time it comes knocking, you really need to start paying attention. And so of course, in miracles has now knocked on my door a number of times, and I think now is the time to give it the attention that it deserves. So in today's episode, we're gonna dive in deep into what A Course in Miracles is, where it came from, how it can help us move into this space of love and come from a place of spirit. And Matthew is going to give us his explanation. And he's going to tell us how he got introduced to it as well. So I really hope you enjoy this conversation. And at the end, I'll tell you how you can actually get access to this book, if you're interested in learning more. So enjoy. And I'll see you at the end.
This episode is all about self-sabotage and the subconscious mind. Maybe this is something you've dealt with because I know that I've dealt with this many times in my personal life and professional life. It's this idea that we set goals for ourselves, and we create intentions for improving our life, yet we seem to get in our own way and sabotage our own success. Well, today, we're gonna listen in on one of Matthew Brownstein's previously recorded conscious community classes. And this is a series that he put on for the graduates of the Institute of interpersonal hypnotherapy, which is the school that is putting on this podcast for you. If you want to check out more about hypnotherapy and learn about the Institute, just head over to www.Instituteofhypnotherapy.com, but today's episode is all about self-sabotage the subconscious mind and why we get in our own way. Matthew is going to break down exactly why this happens. We're going to look at some questions like why do we have high goals and intentions, but then we do stuff that just literally is in direct opposition to what we say we want? How does low self-esteem keep us from moving outside of our comfort zone? What are some of the secondary gains from actually having these problems in our life? Self-sabotage happens in five major categories in our life at any given time: our spirituality, our mental and emotional health, our physical health, our career and finances, and even in our personal relationships. Matthew is going to cover all of those, and how you can break out of this cycle of getting in your own way. Now this class, again, was delivered to past graduates of the Institute, so it's being delivered in a way to allow our graduates to better help their clients. But this information is also very relevant for how you can help yourself. So make sure that you keep an ear open and use some of these techniques in your own life. We're going to be looking at the inner critical voice and this idea of "shoulding" on ourselves. "I should do better." "We should do this." "We should be more." This inner critical voice is very strong, and there's a reason for it. We're also going to look at how to know if your goals are actually right for you and harmonious for where you should be going in your life. Are you moving in the right direction? Well, there's a compass that you can use to know whether or not the goals that you're setting for yourself are harmonious for you.
Hey everyone. Thanks for tuning in and welcome to Illuminated Mind, a podcast that explores some of the deeper ideas about what it means to be human in today's complex world. I'm your host Corey Benschop, and I invite you to join me as I dive into some interesting topics from psychology, philosophy, spirituality, and hypnotherapy, and take a look at how we can learn to use our conscious and subconscious minds to better understand ourselves and the world around us. Why do we feel what we feel, and believe what we believe, and how do these thoughts shape our world? Can we change our reality if we don't like what we experience? What about manifestation, the law of attraction, and the idea of creating abundance in life? How do miracles happen in the world of healing and transformation? Well these are just some of the questions that I'm contemplating, and throughout this podcast journey, I suspect we'll start to find the answers together. So who am I? And why this podcast? Well again, I'm Corey Benschop, and I'm a student of hypnosis at the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy and actually at the time of this recording, I'll be graduating as a certified Clinical and Transpersonal Hypnotherapist in about 2 weeks which is really exciting for me. In partnership with the Institute's founder and lead instructor, Matthew Brownstein, who you'll come to meet and know throughout these episodes, we decided to create this podcast as a way to expand the reach of hypnosis and hypnotherapy to a broader audience, and to create an offering of insight and truth in a world that's becoming increasingly complex to navigate on a personal level. As the host, I'll review many different topics that have a broad application in life but I think you'll come to find that some of the things we cover will become deeply relatable in your personal experiences as well. These episodes will include a wide range of material, from my own personal stories and discoveries that I've made in my life, to previously recorded content, trainings and lectures that Matthew has given, and from time to time, I'll bring in different experts and professionals to share their knowledge too! Overall, I'm mainly excited to see where this podcast will go and grow, and I'm even more grateful that you are here with me as it all unfolds. So, as this is episode 1, I just wanted to give you some insight into what to expect from the show and lay some groundwork for what's to come. I'd like to ask that if you're excited about this, that you go ahead and subscribe to this podcast wherever you're listening from, and I would really appreciate it if you could leave a review for us on iTunes because it will help us get found by more listeners like you!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year. BTE Radio is back to kick off 2014 as we welcome Matthew Brownstein to the program this week to talk about the Star Child. It came to our attention in mid 2013 that our good friend and multi time guest Lloyd Pye was Diagnosed with aggressive B-cell lymphoma cancer. Lloyd turned over the Starchild Project to others such as Matthew Brownstein who will carry it forward with a new, fully modernized, and highly upgraded website. Due to Lloyd's untimely passing, Matthew has agreed to join us this week to discuss the latest about the Star Child Skull and to help us pay tribute to our friend Lloyd Pye. Matthew Brownstein is the newest member of the Starchild Project Team, which has been working actively since 1999 to prove the mystery of a 900 year-old carbon dated bone skull that genetic experts and medical professionals feel could very well be another species not yet known to modern science. Matthew is the Chief Operating Officer of the Starchild Project and has joined the team to help with their fundraising efforts to raise the money to sequence the DNA of the Starchild Skull. Matthew works directly with Lloyd Pye and the entire Starchild Project Team to create more public awareness of a skull that could truly change history as we know it. Matthew is also the Executive Director of the Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy and has been in the fields of alternative therapies and alternative knowledge for over 20 years. As a Hypnotherapist he is also very familiar with the phenomena of Hypnosis and Alien Abduction and the profound implications of what it would mean to prove alien life. The website for the Starchild Project is www.StarchildProject.com and major fundraising for the project is happening now.
