The use of psychedelics allows for healing and transformation. However, a lot of people shy away from it primarily because of the stigma associated with it. That's why education and training are important when we talk about psychedelics. The use of psychedelics is a skill just like you're learning how to play jiu-jitsu or you're learning how to cook. If you're interested in how psychedelics can impact and bring healing to your life, a great starting point is something called microdosing. The beauty of it is you don't need to be as worried about every little thing having to be perfect because you can just take a little bit and see how you feel. You can start to calibrate how you feel with it, without having to risk a bad acid trip. In today's conversation, we talk all about psychedelics and microdosing with Paul Austin, author of the book, Mastering Microdosing: How to Use Sub-Perceptual Psychedelics to Heal Trauma, Improve Performance, and Transform Your Life. Paul shares his knowledge and insights into psychedelics and microdosing, their benefits, and some things you need to know about! In this episode, you will hear: Paul's journey with psychedelics and microdosing The benefits of psychedelics and microdosing The history of psychedelics Who is microdosing for? We live in a society where we're taught that our clothes are disposable. 80 billion new pieces of clothes are made every year and 87% will wind up in an incinerator landfill within 18 months. Out of that 87%, only 3% are made of sustainable fibers, which means there's massive soil toxification that's also leaching to your waterways. 30% of the microplastics in the ocean come from the clothes we not only toss but also wash as microplastics are leached into our washing machines that go into the waterways. In this episode, Jeff Scult, founder of One Golden Thread, shares the impetus behind this sustainable clothing brand that wasn't initially set out to be a clothing company. Rather it was actually a physical manifestation of his full self-expression over his life's journey. It was his calling to share the philosophy that despite all the curve balls thrown at us, we are each golden inside – and this simple truth is what connects us together as a golden thread. Jeff also shares a pragmatic marketing lesson that he learned from his dog and the transformative workshop that he attended, which was also the precursor of One Golden Thread. In this episode, you will hear: Jeff's experience with alchemy through his dog Seeing things from an abundance mindset over a scarcity mindset The spiritual cause behind his dis-ease The precursor for one golden thread How to claim your golden voice Giving yourself the permission to shift and pivot to your purpose Not a story about “me,” but about “we” One golden thread as a manifestation of self-expression Regeneration, instead of sustainability Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? A lot of founders tend to have this excuse that since they're leaders, they don't have to be great managers. But just as much as you need to show excellent leadership, you also need to be a great manager for the company to be successful. In this episode, Sophie Theen, educator, speaker, and author of The Soul of Startups, talks about the alchemy behind startups. Her focus is on shifting the cultural mentality from “me” to “we.” When you understand that you're no longer creating a business just for yourself and that the business is going to feed so many people, you are now creating a sustainable, and hopefully a good working environment for everybody in the company. Sophie has a degree in mechanical engineering, but she's an expert in the HR realm, specifically around cultural aspects. She believes we have to take the emotional part of the equation by leading with good data-driven decisions. In this episode, you will hear: The difference between a manager and a leader Sophie's background and startup experience How mentorship has changed his trajectory What inspired her to write her book, The Soul of Startups The biggest issues founders face when it comes to building a culture A litmus test to assess the culture of your company Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? For many people, the journey to oneself is a road less traveled. It doesn't cost anything but the price you have to pay to reach your destination involves breaking free from your programs and patterns and crushing your ego. These are things that not a lot of people could easily afford to do. But once you make that decision to take that leap and take action, and with the right tools, right techniques, and the right teachers around you – transformation happens. In this episode, Pablo Lucero, a yogi and breathwork practitioner, talks about his journey and how he went from a legal career to the path of a yogi. Whether you're an employee or an employer, are you paying for or receiving health care that you actually use? Does it even fit your lifestyle or your needs? Sadly, we're seeing a gap in our healthcare system due to a lack of transparency. Both employers and employees – the consumers of healthcare – don't actually have any insights into the actual value of what they're paying for. Healthcare providers, on the other hand, couldn't tell patients how much the service actually costs. Then they have to justify their actions so they can get paid for the work done. They have to relay the information through codes to the third party that holds all the money, but it's not really present. Clearly, it's a triad that is systemically difficult, if not broken. Today's guest, Dr. Jawad Arshad, CEO of WoW Health Solutions, talks about how he's disrupting our broken healthcare landscape and how he's working with an amazing community of medical providers that are also looking to diversify and break away completely from the third-party reimbursement model. Dr. Arshad's end goal is to provide transparent and affordable healthcare, giving the power back to the people so they have access to the kind of care they really need. In this episode, you will hear: What drove him to learn about the business of medicine What led him to establish WoW Health Solutions The gap within the healthcare industry Why employers/consumers of healthcare are the losers in this game The shift in consumer mentality after post-pandemic His biggest challenges as an entrepreneur How WoW Health Solutions is solving the problem Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? After he received his MBA at Wharton Business School, he made a shift when he realized the corporate world didn't resonate with him. It didn't align. In 2018, he quit his job, without any plan. As leaders, it's important that we're able to nurture our own resilience so we can withstand whatever challenges that come our way. How do we become resilient then? In today's episode, Dr. Taryn Marie Stejskal, the Chief Resilience Officer at Resilience Leadership Institute, talks about how we can all tap into our own resilience, which is something we don't find outside of ourselves. Resilience is the essence of what it means to be human. It's something ingrained in the fabric of humanity and our shared human experiences defined by challenge, change, and complexity. Dr. Taryn Marie Stejskal is an executive coach, a keynote speaker, an author, a mom, an athlete, an international traveler, and a philanthropist. Taryn helps people recognize their worth and value, believe in themselves, appreciate their inherent strengths, recognize their skills and talent, and teach them to be more resilient so they can reach their full potential. Taryn met resilience at 14 years old in her own childhood bedroom when she had a terrifying experience with a stalker. In her early 20s, she met all of the diagnostic criteria for post-traumatic stress disorder. It was a two-decade journey of healing from trauma and betrayal of her safety. Taking that experience and the knowledge she gained over the years, Taryn is now sharing that message of resilience with the world. If you're someone who's used to sitting down on the computer the whole day, there are surely times when you've noticed pain here and there. Some days, it's on your neck and shoulders. Psychology has spanned over a hundred years now. First, there was Pavlov's theory of classical conditioning where humans are triggered by certain stimuli. Then there's the concept of cognitive behavior where one's emotions are said to be influenced by the mind. Now, we are on this third wave of human psychological evolution, which is the mind, body, and spirit connection. The mind, body, and spirit connection is this idea that the mind, body, and spirit are all connected – and that mindfulness has a significant place in the acceptance and compassion that we can feel towards ourselves. Therefore, we can heal our bodies from diseases by listening to our bodies and our intuition for the signals they provide. And if we just learn to listen to them, we can discover the seat of our energies. Spiritual guide and Psychedelic Assisted Therapy (PAT) facilitator, Austin Mao, joins us today to talk more about the mind, body, and spirit connection, as well as the role of psychedelics in achieving such connection. Austin is an integration coach, and the Founder of Ceremonia, a startup church that is on a mission to bring consciousness to the world through the intentional application of psychedelics and psychotherapy.
