In this episode, we get into Eid al-Adha, comparing how Algeria and the UAE handle the slaughter, the hygiene, the rituals, and how our kids responded to witnessing it all for the first time. We then debate EVs and hybrids in the UK, breaking down the charging infrastructure problems, hidden costs, and the political incentives propping up the "green" agenda. We close on AI and fatherhood, job displacement, deepfakes, the creeping "AI god" narrative, and how to stay a present, grounded father in a world that's moving faster than anyone can keep up with. 27th May 2026In this Satsnag, Sanjay spoke about Eid al-Adha, discussing the concept of sacrifice as surrendering the ego and achieving self-realization through recognizing one's true nature as pure awareness. He explained that when people understand "I am only awareness," they can experience the same bliss and peace in waking life as in deep sleep, describing this as entering a state of Samadhi while remaining active. Lakshmi asked about handling noisy family members and maintaining inner peace, to which Sanjay advised keeping quiet, having compassion, and not trying to change others, suggesting that the desire for more solitude might be a sign of spiritual progress. Sanjay also discussed how egoless awareness affects relationships, explaining that without ego, one becomes insensitive to others' egoistic behavior and simply witnesses whatever happens without trying to fix or change situations. These are teachings and pointers from ongoing NDA(Non-duality awareness)/Advaitic Satsangs held at Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi Centre in Melbourne, Australia. The Giants can move past the Jaxson Dart controversy quickly if the locker room keeps frustrations internal, but the cost is proving this young team can handle pressure without letting every disagreement become a public problem.Follow on Spotify and leave a 5-star rating on Apple Podcasts if you enjoy no-BS Giants debate.Did the Giants actually move past the Jaxson Dart locker-room issue? The answer depends on whether the leaders who spoke up — Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Jameis Winston — turn that meeting into a reset instead of another storyline. The episode starts with the reported Giants meeting where Jaxson Dart addressed teammates after introducing President Trump. Drew and Rob talk through whether this was just an awkward headline that needed to be handled internally, or whether it was the first real leadership test for Dart and the John Harbaugh-era locker room. The conversation also covers Abdul Carter missing the meeting for Eid al-Adha and why that should not become cheap blame if Dart and Carter already handled things privately. Is this story actually over, or just quieter?Andrew Thomas restructuring his contract becomes the next major Giants topic. The guys explain why the added cap space matters, why Arvell Reese's rookie deal still affects the real number, and why this move is more likely about injury flexibility and cutdown-day roster moves than a splashy Odell Beckham Jr. return.Did the Giants just create useful breathing room, or are fans reading too much into a basic cap move? The OTA conversation focuses on D.J. Reader, Dru Phillips, and Patrick Ricard returning to the field, while also keeping expectations realistic because spring practices without pads only reveal so much. The defensive line depth concern gets real after the Roy Robertson-Harris injury, Shelby Harris' absence, and the basic truth that NFL injuries are going to keep coming.J.C. Davis becomes the offensive line debate of the episode. Bret Bielema praised his ability to play all four guard and tackle spots, while Drew pushes back and says the tape looks more like guard. John Harbaugh's comments also point to a swing guard/tackle role, raising the question of whether Davis is a future left guard, a real utility lineman, or another Giants guard/tackle project that could become risky behind Andrew Thomas. The episode closes with one of the better Giants stories of the offseason: Tom Coughlin, Eli Manning, John Harbaugh, Shaun O'Hara, and Gotham FC going full Mario Kart for the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation. Coughlin as Mario, Eli as Luigi, Harbaugh as Yoshi, and Shaun O'Hara as Donkey Kong made for a fun visual, but the real story is the charity work for families facing childhood cancer.Merch: https://2giantgoofballs-shop.fourthwall.com/Support: https://buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsAll episodes: https://2giantgoofballs.buzzsprout.com/Send us Fan MailSupport the show

In today's edition of The Update Journal, the Knicks are one win away from the Finals, Cleveland is still launching three-pointers like they're trying to pay rent with them, and apparently New York City lost its outside-watch-party privileges because a few people forgot how to behave near Knicks games. We ask the important questions: Why are the Cavs treating every possession like a heat-check? Why does success in New York immediately turn into a crowd-control situation? And who looked at the calendar and decided Memorial Day weekend should roll directly into Eid al-Adha like this was some kind of holiday back-to-back challenge mode? Also included:A completely unbiased* breakdown of the Knicks-Cavs series from someone who “doesn't even watch basketball like that,” yet somehow has very strong opinions.A public safety reminder that New Yorkers cannot be trusted with nice things once playoff basketball enters the group chat. And a deep investigation into why this week feels like it was scheduled by the same people who plan MTA weekend service changes.(*Bias may exist. May 27th 202610th Dhul Hijjah 1447 Eid Al-Adha 1447/2026Eid al-Adha symbolizes global Muslim unity through shared worship, Hajj, and collective celebration across continents. The khutbah emphasizes unity through the Ka‘bah, congregational prayer, and the Prophet's message in Mina about equality and sanctity of life, wealth, and honour.Political and economic interests have weakened the Islamic values of unity, trust, and respect for agreements.Qur'anic verses from Surah al-Nahl stress the obligation to fulfill promises and condemn betrayal and deceit. The example of Sulh Hudaybiyyah highlights that agreements must be respected even with non-Muslims to preserve social order. The sermon criticizes injustices faced by Pakistani Shi‘as deported from the UAE despite lacking political involvement.Bahrain's arrests, citizenship revocations, and deportations of Shi‘as are presented as violations of human rights and international law.A positive development mentioned is the growing cooperation among Shi‘a scholars in Ontario through the planned “Council of Shia Scholars of Ontario.”Eid prayers and Qur'anic verses from Surah al-A‘la and Surah al-Shams emphasize purification of the soul and sincerity of intention. The lesson of qurbani is that Allah values taqwa and sincerity, not merely the outward sacrifice. The story of Habil and Qabil demonstrates that deeds are accepted only from those with true God-consciousness.The khutbah repeatedly connects spiritual purification with unity, justice, and ethical conduct in society.Duas and salawat upon the Prophet and Ahlul Bayt reinforce devotion, guidance, and steadfastness upon the path of Islam. The sermon concludes with the Qur'anic command to uphold justice, kindness, and care for relatives while avoiding oppression and corruption.Surahs al-A‘la and al-Shams reinforce themes of purification, remembrance of Allah, moral responsibility, and success through taqwa.Donate towards our programs today: https://jaffari.org/donate/Jaffari Community Centre (JCC Live)

Source: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DY0uA5zuUGo/?igsh=cDA0a3Rtem5hdWhvTraslatiion (English) -Every Eid al-Adha, millions of Muslims revive the rituals of Ibrahim عليه السلام. We sacrifice. We make takbeer. We remember submission to Allah سبحانه وتعالى. But Ibrahim عليه السلام did not leave behind rituals alone. He left behind a legacy of leadership, sacrifice, and obedience to Allah سبحانه وتعالى in every aspect of life. The Prophets after him did not only teach people how to worship privately. They governed by revelation. They carried justice to society. They ruled by what Allah سبحانه وتعالى revealed. From Dawud عليه السلام to Muhammad ﷺ, Islam was never separated from authority, leadership, and the responsibility of caring for the affairs of humanity. And the Prophet ﷺ did not leave this Ummah as an Ummah of scattered individuals. He established a state in Madinah that carried Islam to the world as mercy, justice, and guidance. But today, more than 100 years after the destruction of the Khilafah, look at the condition of the Ummah. Gaza burns. Al-Aqsa remains occupied. Sudan bleeds. And humanity itself suffers under systems built upon greed, oppression, and power. This Eid is not only a celebration. It is a reminder of responsibility. A reminder that this Ummah was meant to lead. Meant to carry Islam completely. Meant to revive the deen in society, governance, and life. The rituals of Hajj teach us unity. The sacrifice of Ibrahim عليه السلام teaches us submission. The takbeer reminds us that Allah سبحانه وتعالى is greater than every tyrant, every empire, and every false system that dominates the earth today. So let Eid not end with celebration alone. Reconnect yourself to the mission of this Ummah. Reconnect yourself to the Quran. Reconnect yourself to the work of dawah and revival. Reconnect yourself to the obligation of working for the return of Islam as a complete way of life.May Allah سبحانه وتعالى accept our sacrifices. May He unite this Ummah once again. May He allow us to witness the return of dignity, justice, and the banner of Islam raised once more.Eid Mubarak to the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ

Is it simply a dental hygiene "staffing shortage" or does the data reveal a more complex retention issue? Host Matt Crespin sits down with Thalía Diedrick and Amaya Johnson to unpack the findings of GoTu's recently released 2026 State of Work Report, the largest survey of the U.S. dental workforce, developed in partnership with ADHA. The numbers are striking: 60% of hygienists report burnout, 53.8% received no raise in the last two years, and 41.4% receive zero benefits — and yet nearly 78% intend to stay in the profession long term. These issues lead to a retention crisis driven by resolvable issues, not a lack of committed professionals. Thalía and Amaya break down the three to five year cliff, why physical demand tops the burnout driver list, and why better benefits ranked above better pay as hygienists' number one desired change. They also dig into the rise of flexible and temporary work as a deliberate career strategy, the case for license portability, and what expanding scope could mean for underserved communities.Guests: Thalía Diedrick, Vice President of Marketing, GoTu; Amaya Johnson, Senior Manager of Provider Marketing, GoTuHost: Matt Crespin, MPH, RDH, FADHAEpisode sponsored by GoTu.

It's Friday, May 8th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Three North Korean prisoners to receive human rights award Three Korean missionaries detained for more than a decade in North Korea will receive the Graciela Fernandez Meijide Human Rights Award in August in absentia, reports International Christian Concern. The three men — missionary Choi Chun-gil, age 70, missionary Kim Jong-Uk, age 62, and Pastor Kim Kuk-gi, age 72— were helping North Korean defectors and underground churches in Northeast China before North Korean agents arrested them and took them to jails inside North Korea.  North Korea sentenced the three men to life in a North Korean labor camp. The South Korean government has repeatedly called for the missionaries' release. Analysts estimate that more than 30,000 Christians are currently suffering in these camps where they are overworked, starved, and tortured. Not surprisingly, North Korea denies the existence of such camps. According to Open Doors, North Korea is the most oppressive country worldwide for Christians. Vatican: Homosexual couples are not guilty of sin The new Vatican synod report published May 5th has just dropped a bombshell, reports LifeSiteNews.com. It said, “Sin, at its root, does not consist in the same-sex couple relationship.” Instead, the document suggests sin is merely a lack of faith in God. Homosexual relationships are presented by the Vatican through glowing testimonies. The document takes specific aim at Courage, a Catholic group established for the support of those with homosexual attraction who wish to live chastely and in accord with Catholic Church teaching.  And the report openly questions whether such unions could be considered analogous to marriage.  It asks whether homosexual “relationships” can be thought of as equal “to heterosexual conjugal union,” despite “the evident impossibility of procreation.” This is not a fringe document. It comes from a synodal study group operating with Vatican approval. But Leviticus 18:22 could not be more clear. “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” US launches strikes on two Iranian targets On May 7th,  U.S. Central Command confirmed military action within the Strait of Hormuz, saying American forces intercepted “unprovoked Iranian attacks” and struck back amid claims by Tehran that the Trump administration had violated a fragile ceasefire, reports NewsNation.com. According to Fox News, U.S. officials said Qeshm Port in the Strait of Hormuz and the port city of Bandar Abbas were struck. Plus, Iran's Bandar Kargan naval checkpoint in Minab was also hit. CENTCOM officials said Iran launched missiles, drones, and small boats on three U.S. guided-missile destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz headed to the Gulf of Oman. In response, U.S. forces “eliminated inbound threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for attacking.” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this. RUBIO:  “As President Trump has said, and the facts clearly bear out, the United States of America holds all the cards. There is no scenario here in which, if they decide to join a ladder of escalation, they wind up getting the last say. “But our preference is for these Straits [of Hormuz] to be opened to the way they're supposed to be open, back to the way it was. Anyone can use it. No mines in the water. Nobody paying tolls. That's what we have to get back to, and that's the goal here.” Mark Hamill of “Star Wars” posted image of dead President Trump Mark Hamill, the actor best known for playing Luke Skywalker in the original “Star Wars” trilogy of the 1970s and '80s, posted an image on May 6th that got the White House's attention, reports The Western Journal. The image, posted to Hamill's account on the social media platform BlueSky, showed President Donald Trump lying in a grave, hands folded, with a headstone that read “Donald J. Trump, 1946-2024.” Hamill wrote, “If only he should live long enough to witness his inevitable devastating loss in the midterms, be held accountable for his unprecedented corruption, impeached, convicted & humiliated for his countless crimes. Long enough to realize he'll be disgraced in the history books, forevermore.” Meanwhile, on the social media platform X, the official White House Rapid Response account, called Hamill “one sick individual.” Then, the White House linked Hamill-style rhetoric to other disturbing events, saying, “These Radical Left lunatics just can't help themselves. This kind of rhetoric is exactly what has inspired three assassination attempts in two years against our President.” Texas Governor pressures waterpark to cancel Muslim-only event A planned celebration of a Muslim-only day at the Epic Waters waterpark in Grand Prairie, Texas has been canceled after backlash over religious discrimination, reports Fox4News. The Epic Waters waterpark had planned to hold a private event throughout the park on June 1st to celebrate Eid al-Adha, the feast of sacrifice and the second of two main festivals in Islam. It honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac as an act of obedience to God's command. When The Worldview first reported the story of the Muslim-only, waterpark-wide event, Cathy Blake of Fate, Texas emailed the Epic Waters leadership. She wrote, “I see you are hosting a Muslim celebration and closing the park to non-Muslims, which is religious discrimination. But, since you probably don't see it that way, and are wanting to be inclusive, I'm wondering what day the park will be available for only Jews or only Christians as those two religions are two of the most practiced religions in America, alongside Islam. Please let me know the date so I can plan my summer accordingly.” When Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott heard about the event, he sent a letter to the City of Grand Prairie in which he threatened to pull $530,000 in public safety grants if the city held the event. The letter states that the event was being advertised as "Muslim Only" before changing its advertisements to state only a requirement of a modest dress code would be enforced. Governor Abbott wrote, "The event purports to be public-facing and discriminatory at the same time: All Muslims—but only Muslims—may attend. An event at a city-owned pool that was publicly and indiscriminately advertised as ‘Whites only' would surely violate the Constitution.” On May 6, officials with the City of Grand Prairie wrote, "After further review and in the best interest of the City of Grand Prairie, the June 1st event at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark has been canceled." The organizer, Dr. Aminah Knight, noted that 600 people attended the event last year and she was “deeply disappointed.” American Bible Society celebrates its 210th anniversary And finally, on May 8th, 1816, the American Bible Society organized in New York to distribute the Bible worldwide. In 1816, there was a significant demand for Bibles in the United States following the American Revolutionary War.  The importation of Bibles from England had ceased, leading to a shortage as the nation sought to foster religious revival. Since then, it has distributed hundreds of millions of Bibles in thousands of languages worldwide. The first President of the American Bible Society was Elias Boudinot, who had been President of the Continental Congress from 1782 to 1783. John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, was named the Bible Society president in 1821. And Francis Scott Key, the writer of the United States' national anthem, served as a Vice President from 1817 until his death in 1843. Today, people around the world are longing for the hope and truth found only in Scripture. Consider making a one-time donation today to empower believers with God's Word in their own language. Every $2 you give provides another Bible. The website is www.AmericanBible.org. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, May 8th, in the year of our Lord 2026, my 60th birthday. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Tuesday, May 5th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson and Timothy Reed Kenyan Somalis killed 7 Kenyan Christian farmers On April 25th, International Christian Concern reports that Muslim Somali herders killed seven Christian farmers in Kitui County, Kenya in a raid. The raiders left behind burned homes, scattered belongings, and families struggling to come to terms with the loss. Local church leaders said many of the affected families are now dealing with loss on multiple levels, including loved ones, homes, and livelihoods.  Remember Jesus's words in Revelation 2:10.  He said, “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” War with Iran has cost America $70 billion The cost of war in Iran continues to rise. The Trump administration announced that the war has cost $25 billion, but that does not include the cost to rebuild destroyed military bases in the Middle East. The Iran War Cost Tracker has the cost of the war pegged at more than $70 billion. That is more than $1 billion dollars a day.  Trump removed 300,000 illegals from Social Security rolls The Trump administration is working to reform Social Security by removing illegal aliens off the rolls. Listen to President Trump's latest comments on his protection of Social Security.  TRUMP: “Together with the Republicans in Congress, we've removed nearly 300,000 illegal aliens from the Social Security roles. (applause and cheers) And we've removed more than 100,000 migrants from Medicare eligibility: 100,000 and the number is going up. “What we're really doing is saving Social Security because it was so rife with fraud.” Supreme Court rules against race-based Congressional districts In a blockbuster decision, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against apportioning congressional districts by race, effectively neutering a portion of the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965.  Following the decision, a flurry of Republican states, including Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida began working towards redistricting in favor of Republicans.  However, Democrats are planning their own redistricting efforts, as both parties remain deadlocked in midterm election jockeying.  Supreme Court temporarily allows mail-order abortion drugs In other Supreme Court headlines, it issued an administrative stay on Monday of a lower court ruling, which would have put a stop to the mail order program for the Abortion Kill Pill.   The administrative order will hold for a week, while the court gives the Food and Drug Administration opportunity to respond.  U.S. public school enrollment is down Public school enrollment is down in the United States — a 900,000-person drop over the last decade.   During the same period, Edunomics Lab reports that staffing has actually increased by about the same amount -- 700,000 people or about 12%, ironically. The government school monopoly spends $1 trillion per year on their program, averaging $17,000 per student.  Per student costs, adjusted for inflation, have doubled since 1980. $17,000 cost-per-public schooler vs. $1,600 per homeschooler The Homeschool Legal Defense Association surveyed 4,000 homeschool families and found the per-child costs for homeschooling an elementary school student runs around $1,300, and $1,600 for a middle and high school student. That means a family with five children saves the state $85,000 per year in education costs, and then, spends $7,000 of their own money doing it. America's property tax revolt There is somewhat of a property tax revolt going on across the country.  Florida lawmakers are proposing an end to local government property tax. Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott has suggested something similar. And the states of Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Wyoming have other initiatives in process to reform property tax in favor of the taxpayers. 1 Samuel 8 speaks of this tyranny: “[Samuel] said, ‘This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons. … He will take your daughters. … He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage. … And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the Lord will not hear you in that day.” Gas prices have doubled since February U.S. gas prices have almost doubled since late February. Now the average price sits at $4.46 per gallon, up from $2.84 a gallon just two months ago. Idaho requires teachers/doctors to tell parents if child has gender issues The state of Idaho passed a bill that requires teachers and doctors to tell parents if their child is experiencing gender dysphoria. The law, signed by Republican Governor Brad Little, seeks to combat ways in which a child may secretly appear to be the other sex without parental approval.  Republican State Senator Ben Toews stated, “A loophole was left in the [previous] law, and it did not mention social transitions, the process by which vulnerable children are led into the pipeline.” Violations of the new law could lead to steep fines and potential loss of professional licenses. Barbie Director to direct Netflix Narnia film Greta Gerwig is directing the next Narnia film, The Magician's Nephew, to be produced by Netflix, which is expected to be released on February 12, 2027.  Gerwig is best known for her director role in the feminist film “Barbie.”  The first three Narnia movies yielded a worldwide box office total of $1.8 billion. Texas waterpark celebrates Islamic festival by restricting park to Muslims There's a $90 million taxpayer-funded waterpark in Grand Prairie, Texas called Epic Waters which is now celebrating the Islamic holiday of  Eid-al-Adha, the feast of sacrifice and the second of two main festivals in Islam.  It honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God's command.  The Epic Waters park will be restricting the park to Muslims, allowing only Halal food to be sold, and requiring head-to-toe Muslim dress for all swimmers. 90-year-old pro-lifer calls for end to F.A.C.E. Act And finally, Eva Edl, a 90-year-old woman who was placed in a Soviet death camp at a young age, is urging Congress to repeal the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances, or F.A.C.E. Act, after she was convicted and put in prison under the Biden administration.  Pro-abortion advocates have used the F.A.C.E. Act to jail and silence pro-lifers. Listen to her recent testimony.  EDL: “Pro-lifers who continue to put their bodies between the abortionist and innocent victims today will continue to be targeted by this unjust law until it is repealed. And yet, despite knowing this, when the Lord asks you to do something, you just simply do it, no matter the cost. After all, He gave His life to save us.” John 15:13 reminds us, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.”  Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, May 5th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. Dental hygienists don't diagnose." It's one of the most persistent misconceptions in the profession, and it's wrong. Podcast host Matt Crespin sits down with the three co-authors of ADHA's newly released white paper "Dental Hygiene Diagnosis" (DHDx) to set the record straight. Darlene Swigart, Krista Beaty, and Toni McLeroy explain where this misconception came from, why the language we use shapes our professional identity, and how every hygienist is already making diagnostic decisions — from elevated blood pressure to food insecurity — whether they call it that or not. They walk through the Gurenlian and Swigart DHDx model, the case for standardizing terminology across education and state practice acts, and why CODA must reinstate DHDx explicitly into accreditation standards. Plus: how to start documenting dental hygiene diagnoses tomorrow morning, how AI fits into the diagnostic process, and why naming what we do is the first step to elevating the entire profession. Broadcast from KSQD, Santa Cruz on 12-04-2025: Dr. Dawn opens with an experimental vaccine that prevents severe allergic reactions by targeting IgE antibodies. The vaccine could eventually replace current monoclonal antibody treatments like omalizumab that require injections every two weeks. She explains how adjuvants work in vaccines as additives that irritate the immune system enough to notice the vaccine target. Aluminum hydroxide is s common adjuvant. Modern vaccines use small pathogen fragments rather than whole organisms, requiring adjuvants to trigger adequate immune response. Dr. Dawn expresses concern about the US Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices reviewing aluminum adjuvants this week. A Danish study of over one million children finding no connection between aluminum with autism and ADHA contradicts RFK,Jr's public claims. She worries that removing aluminum could devastate vaccine effectiveness and children's health, noting that whenever vaccination rates drop, diseases like measles return to native circulation. She recounts pertussis vaccine history—when Japan stopped vaccination due to rare adverse reactions (approximately one death per million doses), they lost about 5,000 children to whooping cough in the first year. The newer acellular vaccine using pathogen fragments plus adjuvants is safer but only lasts 4-5 years versus lifetime immunity from the older whole-cell version, necessitating "cocooning" strategies where everyone contacting newborns must be recently vaccinated. Dr. Dawn describes a vaccine to prevent fentanyl from reaching the brain now starting clinical trials in the Netherlands. It pairs a fentanyl-like molecule with a carrier protein large enough to trigger antibody production. Once primed, the immune system attacks any fentanyl entering the blood, preventing highs and overdoses—potentially helping people in addiction recovery and those accidentally exposed through contaminated drugs. She reports the first documented death from alpha-gal syndrome. Alpha-gal is a meat allergy triggered by Lone Star tick bites; the tick essentially vaccinates humans against the alpha-galactosidase protein found on beef and pork. Cases have increased since 2010 as climate change expands the tick's range northward, yet a 2023 survey found 42% of doctors had never heard of the condition. Dr. Dawn highlights research from Edith Cowan University showing that blood drawn after exercise suppresses cancer cell growth when added to tumor cultures. In breast cancer survivors, plasma from high-intensity interval training or weight lifting caused cancer cells to stop growing or die; blood drawn before exercise had no effect. The key mechanism involves myokines, particularly IL-6, released by contracting muscles. A Stanford study found colon cancer survivors who exercised were 37% less likely to experience recurrence. A caller asks about pig-to-human heart transplants and mask recommendations. Dr. Dawn clarifies that newer xenotransplant pigs have more genes edited to reduce rejection compared to the 2022 case. For masking, she recommends context-dependent use—especially in public restrooms where toilet flushing aerosolizes COVID-containing particles, transportation hubs, and hospitals, noting that COVID vaccination prevents death but not infection or long COVID. She advises the same caller about spacing vaccines because adjuvant loads stack. Most vaccines can be combined safely, but she recommends against pairing COVID and Shingrix vaccines due to their heavy adjuvant content—wait at least ten days between them. She suggests inducing a sweat the night of vaccination through hot baths, saunas, or exercise to reduce adjuvant-related discomfort without diminishing antibody response. Dr. Dawn discusses seasonal affective disorder. She recommends 5,000 units of vitamin D3 and morning light exposure. She suggests that sun avoidance advice may have gone too far. A UK study of 3.36 million people found 12-15% lower mortality with greater UV exposure even accounting for skin cancer risk. A Swedish study following 30,000 women for 20 years found sun-seekers had half the mortality risk. Benefits may involve nitric oxide production lowering blood pressure, with each 1,000 km from the equator correlating with 5 mmHg higher blood pressure. Lack of bright outdoor light also contributes to childhood myopia, with rates exceeding 80% in some Asian cities. Dr. Dawn concludes with Danish microbiologists at Copenhagen's Alchemist restaurant reviving an old Bulgarian practice of fermenting milk with live red wood ants. The resulting yogurt, cheese, and ice cream contain far more beneficial microbes than commercial products, with a complex lemony acidity. Only live ants work, and wild ants may carry parasites dangerous to humans.
