A DAY is coming when fallen angels and evil rulers throughout the centuries will regret their decisions to rebel against God. The chapters we read from the book of 1 Enoch prophesy a time when kings and the mighty plead for a respite from their torment so they might come before the throne and worship God. Sadly, their opportunity to repent has passed. Likewise, punishment for the fallen Watchers has been decreed and is being carried out with no hope of reprieve—at least not until the abyss opens up in Revelation 9 and they're given five months to torment those without the seal of God on their foreheads. These chapters come from the section of 1 Enoch called the Book of Parables. As we've discussed over previous months, chapters 37 to 71 of 1 Enoch was completed just about the time Jesus was born. It's important because it tells of a messianic character called the Son of Man who would execute these judgments. It's the first mention of the Son of Man in any Jewish writing—and 30 years later, Jesus applied that title to himself. We also read a couple chapters dealing with Noah. We point out a couple verses that disqualify 1 Enoch as scripture—for example, Noah apparently praying to his great-grandfather Enoch. EVERY TIME someone says, "The science is settled," take it with a grain of salt. A new report shows that the universe is expanding faster than current models predict. What does that mean? It's possible that current models of the universe are flawed, which means scientists may have to rewrite the rules by which they think the universe operates. "He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision" (Psalm 2:4, ESV). We recognize the verse is not directed at human scientists, but it does seem appropriate. This story led to a deep discussion of the nature of time, eternity, and why we humans are not created to live forever in our current bodies. We also discuss the rise in technocratic bureaucracy, as evidenced by the spread of Flock AI-powered surveillance cameras in American cities and the proposal by the World Health Organization for a $30 billion budget to prevent future pandemics. (Bear in mind the total WHO budget last year was just over $3 billion.) That led to a brief discussion of the news this week that the US federal deficit officially hit $40 trillion. That's about a third of the actual debt when you include unfunded liabilities like Social Security and Medicare.  Also, two former congressman wrote a piece for the Wall Street Journal recently debunking the official narrative that the 2008 subprime mortgage collapse was the result of greedy lenders and investors. It was, in fact, the result of government policies that led to mortgages being written for unqualified borrowers in the pursuit of government social engineering policies. But rather than putting blame on government, the official story blamed Wall Street to justify even more government control over the free market. Finally, we discussed the tragic mudslide and flash flood in Nepal and Tibet this week. That brought to mind something we discussed 20 years ago about the potential of a catastrophic mega-tsunami caused by the collapse of the La Palma volcano in the Canary Islands. It's Throwback Thursday. This week, it's a timely discussion given this week's devastating and deadly earthquake-induced landslide and flash flood on the border between Nepal and Tibet. Originally released May 18, 2008 MORE than 50,000 people are estimated to have died in the May 12 earthquake in China, many of whom still lie beneath rubble scattered across an area the size of Belgium. Elsewhere, the city of Reno, Nevada looks nervously to the northwest, where thousands of minor earthquakes have rattled the area since February 28. Scientists are puzzled by this cluster because they don't fit any known pattern. And here in the Midwestern U.S., we were startled by a M5.2 earthquake centered in southeast Illinois on April 18, the second strongest earthquake recorded in the state since the arrival of white settlers in the early 19th century. Lucifer is not Satan. In this week study, we dig into the Hebrew name translated Lucifer in the king James Bible, Helel Ben Shachar. Scholar William Gallagher showed in a peer reviewed paper more than 30 years ago that Helel was the West Semitic (i.e., Hebrew) transliteration of the Akkadian deity Ellil. This entity was known by many names in the ancient Near East, including Dagon, Assur, El, and Milcom (and thus Molech). All of these entities were connected to the underworld whereas Satan is nowhere in the Bible linked to Sheol, Hades, Gehenna, or the abyss. The other clue pointing to Ellil et. al is the fact that this polemic is directed at the king of Babylon. In Hebrew, that's melek bab el, which literally means "King of Babel" or "king of the god-gate." We realize this is a unique take on a famous and well studied chapter of the Bible. But it's consistent with other scriptures, and it's a good reminder to ask ourselves whether our interpretation of scripture is based on the Bible itself or human traditions. MUSLIMS ARE planning enclaves that could put self-contained religious communities near Dallas and Houston. Meanwhile, amplifiers broadcast the call to prayer in American cities like Minneapolis, Dearborn and Hamtramck, Michigan, and Paterson, New Jersey. Imams are growing increasingly bold in their statements that their goal is to turn America into a Muslim nation. What most Americans don't realize is that there is no separation of church and state in Islam. The church IS the state, for all intents and purposes. But more than that, this is a spiritual war that the god of Muhammad—who is not to be confused with the triune God of the Bible—intends to win. Here's the link to the article Derek mentioned, "A Call to Power: Islamic Leaders See Ballot Box as Path to Paradise," by Paul Sperry. That fact is also behind a statement issued by the foreign ministers of Turkey, the UAE, Indonesia, Qatar, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. In a joint statement, the ministers objected to Israel's plan to build 3,400 new dwellings in an area east of Jerusalem called E1. They complain that this would separate Arab neighborhoods in East Jerusalem from the rest of the so-called West Bank, blocking the creation of a future Palestinian state with its capital at Jerusalem. From the Israeli standpoint, that is rather the point. After the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, Israel will not accept an independent Palestinian state on its borders. Further eroding the situation in the Middle East, Turkey has issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Turks are seeking an Interpol red notice for the arrest of Netanyahu as part of a criminal case against him for Israel's interception of an aid flotilla sailing for Gaza back in May. The charges include genocide, crimes against humanity and torture. Well, good luck with that. We also discussed a plan to build data centers around the ring of fire, the volcanically active area around the Pacific Ocean, using geothermal energy to power the centers. Tapping into volcanoes to generate electricity. What can possibly go wrong? Also: Social media is causing an epidemic of mental and spiritual illness, as evidenced by the crowd of women who gathered outside the courthouse in Plymouth, Massachusetts Thursday in support of Lindsay Clancy, who has admitted to killing her three children. Granted, postpartum depression is a real thing. But that doesn't mean Clancy shouldn't be held accountable for what she did. GIANTS AND WATCHERS will execute God's judgment on the prophesied Day of the Lord. Isaiah 13 is, on the surface, a prophecy of judgment on Babylon. But there are clues in this chapter that there's more to this prophecy than meets the eye. First, the Hebrew verb translated “consecrated” (as in “consecrated ones,” Isaiah 13:3) is based on the same root behind the words “holy one/s” in Daniel 4:13 and 17, used in parallel with “Watcher/s” in those verses. Given that the Septuagint translates Hebrew gibborim (“mighty men”) as “giants,” it's possible that the “consecrated ones” of Isaiah 13:3 are Watchers—a powerful class of angel often tasked with carrying out God's will (as in Daniel 4). As a whole, Isaiah 13 is an “already but not yet” prophecy of the destruction of Babylon. The “already” took place roughly 150 years after Isaiah wrote this prophecy when Cyrus the great captured the city the night of Belshazzar's drunken feast. The future fulfillment comes on the Day of the Lord, which we believe takes place at the end of the seven year Great Tribulation. In addition, there are hints of the supernatural fulfillment of the “not yet” part of the prophecy. Isaiah 13:20–22 foretells a day when Babylon is utterly destroyed, becoming a haunt of supernatural creatures. That's not apparent in most English translations, but digging into the Hebrew and Greek reveals more of Isaiah's original vision: Babylon inhabited forever by demons, sirens, satyrs, and dragons. A MIDDLE EASTERN nation reportedly advised another to seek peace with Israel—not as an end to war, but in preparation for it.  The report by Israel's public radio, KAN News, claims the unnamed nation suggested its counterpart reach an agreement with Israel with the intention of violating it later while preparing for a wider military conflict. Neither nation was identified in the report, which raises many questions. Is it Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, or another traditional enemy of Israel? Could this be "strong covenant with many" prophesied in the book of Daniel? After 200 years of idolatry, God finally allowed the northern kingdom of Israel to be destroyed and the people carried off by Assyria. Meanwhile, the southern kingdom of Judah was being ruled the young, foolish, idolatrous King Ahaz. After being defeated in battle by the Aramean Kingdom of Damascus, Ahaz decided to worship the gods of Syria rather than turning to God for help. He also sacrificed his son to Molech in the Valley of Hinnom southwest of Jerusalem. Then he turned to the Assyrians for help against Israel, Syria, and Edom, cutting up fixtures in the Temple to send to Assyria as tribute. Needless to say, God was not pleased. Apparently, neither were the people of Judah. Ahaz was buried in the City of David rather than in the tombs of the kings of his forefathers. THE WORST outbreak of Ebola in history is underway in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Many will respond to that news with skepticism given the way we were propagandized during the COVID outbreak five years ago. But facts are facts: Nearly 1600 people have died thus far in the outbreak and it's spreading much faster than the 2014 outbreak in West Africa. The infection fatality rate is upwards of 40%. By comparison, COVID only had an IFR of about 0.2%. In addition, this particular strain of Ebola has an incubation period of up to three weeks. That means somebody who appears to be well could conceivably travel on an international flight and bring the virus to another continent. So, fear mongering in this case is probably justified. Speaking of fear, a robotics company called Satyress has announced a new robot that looks like a giant metallic praying mantis with the head of a goat. It is ostensibly intended for jobs too dangerous for humans, like search and rescue missions after a natural disaster. However, it looks like Baphomet with an extra set of legs. That begs the question: What in the world were the designers thinking? We also discuss the invasion of the Spanish enclave of Ceuta by 60,000 military age men from Morocco. This is a very bad look for the pro-immigration leaders of the European Union and progressive Democrats here in the United States. Also: Mayor Mamdani promises his city-run grocery stores will sell groceries at 30% below average cost elsewhere. That math don't math. This week, we present a 2007 interview with researcher and author Kate Iola about America's vulnerability to disruption of our food supply through agricultural terror. Originally released June 3, 2007 OUR SUMMER “archive series” continues with an interview culled from Derek's radio program on The Eagle 93.9 (KSSZ-FM) in Columbia, Missouri. His guest on Friday, May 25, 2007 was agroterror expert Kate Iola. Kate has a master's degree in Molecular Pathology from the University of California-San Diego, and three issued patents. She started reporting on FMD (foot-and-mouth disease) in 1999. In 2000, she decided someone needed to tell the bizarre — and, unfortunately, true — story of the threat of FMD. THE STORY of Frankenstein and his monster can be read as a tale of daddy issues with catastrophic consequences. After several chapters of prophecies of destruction at the hands of the Assyrians, Micah concludes his book with a promise of restoration for the people of Israel. THE WAR between the deep state and President Trump escalated this week when the president declassified documents revealing treasonous acts by elements within the CIA and FBI leading up to the 2020 election.  This is a reminder that presidents don't have as much control over the United States government as we (or they) think. In addition, a story that's set to break next week at the Intelligence Summit in Tampa reveals that Saddam had an active nuke program in 2002 and 2003. During the last six months of 2002, Saddam apparently built four very expensive nuclear storage and production facilities underneath the Euphrates River. Let's see how this is played in the media. The Bible foretells a mysterious character called “the Assyrian” who seems to have a role in the end times war against Israel. Who is he?  What's odd is the Hebrew text of Micah 5:5–6 (and Isaiah 14:25, 31:8, and 52:4) lacks the definite article “the.” In other words, there is no “the Assyrian” in the Old Testament.  The Hebrew word Assur can referred to Assyria, its capital city, or its chief deity, who was the equivalent of the Sumerian/Babylonian god Enlil (called Ellil in Akkad), El of Canaan, Dagon of the Philistines, and Milcom of Ammon—and thus Molech, the netherworld god who demanded the sacrifice of children from his followers.  We believe the passages in Micah are an “already but not yet” prophecy, referring to the imminent conquest of the northern kingdom of Israel by Assyria, which occurred during Micah's lifetime in 722 BC, and a future return of Assur in the end times as the Destroyer, Abaddon/Apollyon, who is released from the abyss for five months to torment those without the seal of God on their foreheads.  Sharon's niece, Sarah Sachleben, has been battling stage 4 bowel cancer and the medical bills are piling up. NEW YORK CITY Mayor Zohran Mamdani is the smiling face of communism. But it's a mask.  Most American political commentators focus on his economic policies, but it's his religion that's the real threat. While young voters, who have legitimate economic grievances, are mesmerized by his personal charm and the promise of free health care, education, and government services, Muslim voters are growing in number and political clout. This strange marriage of Muslims and Marxists is the same one that led to the downfall of the shah of Iran in 1979. The ruling elites of ancient Israel were compared to cannibals eating the flesh of those they were supposed to protect. Who would have thought Steven Spielberg could make a boring movie about aliens? Spielberg's first major film in 10 years, Disclosure Day, was released Friday to mixed reviews. I haven't seen the film, but based on the reviews of those who have my sense is that the movie is about an hour too long and 30 years out of date. For example, the movie is described as a long chase scene in which the two protagonists are trying to reach a television studio to share proof of the existence of extraterrestrial life. Pardon me, but who actually believes the mainstream media anymore? Spielberg may be showing his age, but pretty much everyone under the age of 75 knows that anyone with the laptop and Wi-Fi could get the same information out to the entire world, faster, easier, and with a better chance of being believed than by racing a team of trained security professionals to a broadcast news studio. This movie would have been received a lot better during the height of the popularity of The X-Files.  Meanwhile, aliens of a different type have the United Kingdom rising up in protest after several incidents where new arrivals to the UK took bladed weapons to people of European ancestry. Citizens of the UK want elected officials who have foisted unrestricted immigration on their constituents, held accountable for streets that are increasingly unsafe and budgets that are increasingly unbalanced because of the imported diversity. While Isaiah prophesied a day when the kingdom of Judah would declare, “God is my salvation,” Micah's prophecy is a warning of God's imminent judgment for the sins of Judah and Samaria. We see both prophecies as being of the “already but not yet” type, fulfilled in the eighth century BC, but with a future fulfillment still to come. Bear in mind when reading Isaiah 12 that the the Hebrew word translated “salvation” is Yeshua—Jesus. THE ALIENS have landed with a thud. Although some have praised the new Steven Spielberg film Disclosure Day, many reviewers are less than overwhelmed. We haven't seen the film, but the Takeaway from those who have is that this film would have been much better received during the height of the popularity of The X-Files. Instead, this film feels like it's 30 years out of date. Speaking of aliens, we discuss the growing unrest in the United Kingdom after several recent knife attack attacks captured on video. Each one featured a recent arrival in the UK causing serious bodily harm to a person of European ancestry. Citizens of the UK are now protesting and demanding accountability from the political class who forced these new arrivals on their constituents without their consent. These are the days prophesied by Jesus who told us of a time when nation (Greek ethnos) would rise against nation. The world is being prepped for the disclosure of the existence of extraterrestrial life. The church needs to be ready with answers. If it was possible to have a coin with three sides, this might be it. We discuss the Discovery of the remains of an employee of Los Alamos National Laboratory, who had gone missing 11 months ago. She reportedly performed a factory reset on both her phones and walked out into the desert. Melissa Casias is one of at least 11 people who have disappeared or died with connections to sensitive government programs related to the UFO phenomenon. Investigators say there is nothing to indicate foul play, but we remain skeptical. Meanwhile, the archbishop of Washington, D.C. removed a priest as an exorcist for the archdiocese after Monsignor Stephen Rossetti posted a video to his Facebook page connecting demons to the UFO phenomenon. While we don't entirely agree with Monsignor Rossetti's understanding, he's not entirely wrong. We also discussed a call by the cofounder of Anthropic, the developers of Claude, AI, for a pause on development of artificial intelligence because of his concern that Large Language Models are on the verge of full recursive self-improvement, meaning artificial intelligence could soon escape any restraints placed on it by humans. In other words, AI is closer to achieving the singularity than we think. Finally, we discussed strange news reports from New York City of men in full protective gear, wearing night goggles, descending into the sewer system at night and re-emerging several hours later. Police don't know what they've been doing down there, but they say at this point there is no threat to public safety. Again, we remain skeptical. A VISION of Noah was inserted into the Book of 1 Enoch, with interesting references to Leviathan and Behemoth. These are chaos monsters. Leviathan, described as female and from the sea, and Behemoth, male and occupying the wilderness—possibly the same one into which the Watcher Azazel was thrown as punishment for his role in corrupting humanity. We discussed the “already but not yet” prophecies of 1 Enoch 57–59 and the end times fulfillment of the vision ascribed to Noah in chapter 60. As a reminder, this month's study comes from the Book of Parables, the prophetic section of 1 Enoch written just before the birth of Jesus. The importance of this section of the book is in its prophecies of a coming messianic figure called the Chosen One, the Anointed One, and, most frequently, the Son of Man, a title not found in any prior Jewish writing. Jesus referred to himself as the Son of Man 78 times in the New Testament. The high regard for 1 Enoch held by Jesus, the apostles, and the early church suggests that it's worth our while to study this book for ourselves. It's not in the Bible, nor should it be, but there are teachings in the New Testament that come straight from the book of 1 Enoch. Jeff Sharlet, author of The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power, has been following this group for years, even living at The Family's headquarters for a time. What he found is a group that justifies its pursuit of political power by claiming that it's for the kingdom of God.
