Are there things in your life today that don't align with your vision of tomorrow? What do you need to leave behind as you move forward into the future that God has for you?  It's hard to let go of things. Trust me, I know. It is important to realize that in order for us to experience personal growth and find spiritual success, we need to have necessary endings in our lives.  Boundaries are necessary, and so are endings. That's why today we will explore: The need to manage expectations and investments in our relationships The concept of pruning and setting boundaries The emotional epidemic of entitlement The dangers of enabling others If there is a relationship or a situation that is holding you back from reaching your best self, it's time to let it go. Do you find it hard to make sense of the different views on sex in culture? Is it time for you to reevaluate your view of sex? Join me on today's episode to have an open and honest conversation on… sex. Society keeps sending mixed signals on what sex is all about. I want us to discuss the topic of sexual boundaries but from a Biblical perspective. It's high time we redeem the narrative that the enemy has stolen from us! That is why we will explore:  God's original, good, and divine design for sex  Biblical view of sex vs. Cultural view Freedom from sexual shame  We all need practical handles on sexual boundaries in marriage and for singles. Because of that, I'm highlighting the importance of respect, communication, accountability, and non-sexual intimacy.  Sex was God's idea! He intended it for our good. Don't let the enemy steal that from you. I want you to know that whatever has happened in your life, you can find forgiveness through Jesus and develop a personal intimate relationship with Him. If you found this topic helpful, let me know by tagging me @biancaolthoff  Love you friend, B RESOURCES/LINKS Boundaries in Sex // Boundary Lines // Bianca Olthoff Quote I don't want social media. I don't want pop culture. I don't want the ivory tower of academia to define what sex is. No. Sex was God's idea. Takeaways Sexual boundaries are for our benefit and not a burden. Open and honest conversations about sex are necessary in order to break free from shame and cultural narratives. In marriage, it is important to have regular communication about sexual expectations and desires. For singles, setting personal boundaries and seeking accountability are key to maintaining purity. Sex does not guarantee intimacy, and true intimacy is built on emotional and verbal communion. ⋇ Convoy of Hope - Empowering Women and Girls Together Donate here ⋇ Order Bianca's new book GRIT DON'T QUIT ⋇ The Grit Don't Quit Bible Study is now available. ⋇ So grateful to our sponsors! This episode is sponsored by NOTES® Candle. In this episode, you will walk away knowing: The need for clear boundaries How God created boundaries to bring order out of chaos Consequences for broken boundaries We will also explore the different types of boundaries, including physical: sexual, emotional, spiritual, and financial boundaries. Are you ready to detox from toxic detoxes? Embracing food freedom begins by getting rid of practices that can be toxic to our bodies.  Our bodies are wise and intricate miracles. In order for us to function optimally, we need to be aware of diet culture by: Listening to our bodies Rebuilding a healthy relationship with food Owning our worth and having guilt-free progress Friend, you know yourself better than anyone else! Self-care is possible when you get in touch with your body outside of diet culture and trust it. Paying attention to your surroundings and the messages that you are listening to is key to taking your next steps toward food freedom. Let us know how you are owning your worth beyond a number on a scale by tagging us @biancaolthoff and @leslieschilling. Don't miss tomorrow's episode. Trusting our bodies' natural processes and listening to our internal cues is key to recalibrating our sense of health. Intuitive eating is a self-care framework that helps us make peace with food and make choices that align with our values. Are you aware of diet culture infiltrating safe spaces like school or church? Everyone is on a journey of their own. I want to make sure that as we talk about the impact of diet culture in the church, that we do it from a place of love, kindness, grace, health, and healing. I believe that we can have meaningful conversations around the topic of weight by: Being receptive to the needs of others Extending grace and not shaming or judging others Considering everyone's individual circumstances Friends, as you continue to walk with God, remember that He is compassionate and gracious. Ask Him to guide you as you grow in relationship with Him and learn to separate yourself from diet culture. Takeaways Diet culture has infiltrated the church and made it an unsafe place for discussions about body image and health. The 'body as a temple' verse has been misused to shame and judge others based on their appearance. Fasting can be practiced in a healthy and holy way, but it is important to consider individual circumstances and avoid harmful behaviors. Alternative fasting options, such as abstaining from social media or comparison, can be just as meaningful and impactful. Self-discipline should be redefined as honoring hunger and taking care of our bodies, rather than pursuing a specific body size. Toxic detoxes should be avoided, and emotional eating should be addressed with the help of therapy or other forms of support. ⋇ Convoy of Hope - Empowering Women and Girls Together Donate here ⋇ Order Bianca's new book GRIT DON'T QUIT ⋇ The Grit Don't Quit Bible Study is now available. Does it seem like everywhere you go someone is asking you for your weight? Are you tired of obsessing over the number on your weight scale? Real talk - I'm tired too!  Let's be honest friends, talking about weight issues is uncomfortable. That's why Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Therapist is back with us for day 2 of The Weighting Game series. Today we discuss: The issues with the scale  Bodies are miracles, not math Weight-centric training and health The flaws of BMI and Body Fat Percentage Recognizing disordered eating and body grief Determining health and wholeness beyond numbers There are so many dangers in pursuing an unrealistic body image. We need to recognize that body diversity is important in our society and that there is no one-size-fits-all definition of health. Overall health and well-being start with healthy connections and relationships. Let's make it a goal to prioritize holistic health and freedom from diet culture. You are not alone, friend. Tag me @biancaolthoff and @leslieschilling and share how you are finding food freedom in your life. Takeaways Weight-centric training and the focus on the number on the scale can be harmful and perpetuate diet culture. Health is multifaceted and cannot be determined solely by weight or body size. Body diversity is important, and there is no one-size-fits-all definition of health. Connections and relationships play a significant role in overall health and well-being. BMI is not an accurate or reliable measure of health, and body fat percentage should be considered instead. Disordered eating can manifest in various ways and is not limited to extreme cases. Determining health and wholeness should involve regular nourishment, movement, good relationships, and self-care. The goal is to prioritize holistic health and freedom from the constraints of diet culture. ⋇ Convoy of Hope - Empowering Women and Girls Together Donate here ⋇ Order Bianca's new book GRIT DON'T QUIT ⋇ The Grit Don't Quit Bible Study is now available. Hey friends! Welcome to Girls' Night! I'm so excited about today's episode. Today we're talking about how to build more grit and resilience in our life and how to keep going even when things feel really hard. If you're anything like me, you've had moments in your life where you know you're supposed to do something — maybe it's a career path you're supposed to pursue or a dream you want to accomplish. But at some point along the road, we meet some resistance. Things start to feel really hard, we can't get over something that happened in our past that makes us feel like we're not good enough, we feel like we're falling short compared to everyone else around us, we're wondering if maybe we're just not cut out for this. So how do we move past those obstacles? How do we keep moving forward and not give up? To help us answer those questions, I invited my dear friend, Bianca Juarez Olthoff, back on the show. Bianca is a bestselling Christian Author, Speaker, and Podcast Host. She recently released her brand new book called, Grit Don't Quit. In it she helps readers cultivate perseverance, embrace resilience, and embark on a life of purpose. And that's what she's helping us do today!  Here are just a few of the things she's going to be teaching us: How we can train our brains to be more resilient How to keep going even when things feel really hard or even painful How to combat feeling like we're falling short or falling behind How to hear from God and keep pursuing what He has for us And so much more! Whether you're trying to figure out your next steps in life, in a relationship, or in your career, this episode might just be the nudge you need to keep moving forward. I hope so. Do you feel like quitting something? Are you trying to discern if a season is ending? Is there a way to transition out of places well? Sometimes leaving is better than staying, whether it's in a church, job or relationship, but it's not always easy to go. In this podcast, I talk about: > Knowing when it's time to quit > The importance of self-awareness > Discerning your season and life transitions > Leaving situations and relationships with excellence Quitting is something no one likes to do, especially when it feels like you may have failed in some way. (I hate quitting, really, I even wrote a book called Grit, Don't Quit!) But sometimes, knowing when to leave something can create space for the new thing that God wants to do in your life. In this episode, I delve into one of the topics in my book and reflect on my own experiences of life transitions.  As you listen, there may be some tough questions that you have to ask yourself but sometimes you need to take a step of faith and trust God's timing! Remember that while leaving can be hard, there are still new people to meet, new places to explore and new experiences to have.  The best is yet to come, friend! Hey hey! We've all had times when we wanted to quit, but why do some people lean in and stick with it when others check out? The answer to that question may surprise you!  My friend Bianca Juarez Olthoff wrote the book on grit and resilience, and we had a fantastic conversation about just that. What she learned while writing this book is both fascinating and encouraging, and I can't wait for you to hear it! Nurturing Faith and Filtering Harmful Voices: Leslie Schilling & Bianca Juarez Olthoff

Belief is a crucial factor in personal growth and success. It fuels our determination, inspires resilience, and empowers us to overcome challenges. When we trust what is true we are less influenced by the opinions and judgments of others, which can often be hindered by their own limitations or biases. The object of our faith and belief must be sound, reliable, and constant. When we define our worth by a divine standard instead of the perceptions of others, we find greater self-confidence, authenticity, and ultimately, fulfillment. This week, author and registered dietitian Leslie Schilling shares her philosophy on having a “full and fed” life where we resist what society tells us is “healthy,” and decide that the bodies God gave us, no matter their size or shape, are miraculous. Author and preacher Bianca Juarez Olthoff shares how she defied the voices that told her that she was “prone to fail” by believing her status as a child of God would bring her a true definition of success.   Links, Products, and Resources Mentioned: Jesus Calling Podcast Jesus Calling Jesus Always Jesus Listens Upcoming interview: Dr. W. We have to be fed to live this life well.” - Leslie Schilling  “My hope is that people realize that it's never wrong to feed yourself and that we are diverse by design so we can move into more of a fed and full life.” - Leslie Schilling  “Diet culture has made us not trust our bodies and not believe that body diversity is by design.” - Leslie Schilling  “I think connecting with God daily helps us have a healthy mindset. If we really think about what healthy means, it's our own definition of healthy and not the world's definition of healthy. And for me, that's starting my day with time with God.” - Leslie Schilling “I think pursuing health in a way that aligns with our individual values can help us spiritually by being fed. If you are living a fed life and not a restricted one, you can do more.” - Leslie Schilling  “No matter what I walked into, no matter what people said, no matter what my test scores evaluated me as, I knew that I was a child of God, and with God on my side and a whole lot of work, you can step into the God call upon your life with or without a traditional educational story or a traditional story of how you were raised.” - Bianca Juarez Olthoff “We all love an underdog story, but I think it was more the Spirit of God reminding us of our truest identity, that we have a good Father who hears us and loves us.” - Bianca Juarez Olthoff  “This idea of grit, this idea of resilience, this idea of perseverance has been something that has been fostered and fought for in my life.” - Bianca Juarez Olthoff  “Our God is the God who redeems. If the situation is not good, then God is not done, that is the perspective that we need. That perspective allows us to be gritty.“ - Bianca Juarez Olthoff ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel!
