Business Communicating and Presenting with Hilary BlairIn this episode of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast keynote speaker, actor, voice-over artist and facilitator Hilary Blair shares some ideas and tips to help business people enhance their Business Communicating and Presenting and as such get better at presenting and speaking and have great presence with their audience as well as self-awareness and confidence to help them succeed. Our conversation on the topic of Business Communicating and Presenting revolves around just how important communication and business skills are for business leaders and their teams.Hilary has coached countless individuals on their pitches and the one thing that she would advise anyone delivering a pitch is to focus on your audience not yourself, in other words then not you.And for those aspiring to be public speakers Hilary suggests taking every opportunity to practice including joining organisations such as Toastmasters and the National Speakers Association. And here's a great tip from Hilary if you find yourself umming and arring a lot when speaking – it usually means that you are using words you may not be that familiar with so stick to the words that you know and you can articulate, as Hilary says ‘you be you'You can find Hilary at https://articulaterc.comAnd you can connect with Hilary on Linked In: https://www.linkedin.com/in/hbarticulate/This is episode 267 of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast -  the previous 266 episodes are available on your usual podcast app or you can listen and download them on the Better Presentations More Sales podcast pageTo find out how more about how I can help your teams deliver confident, impactful, memorable and action inducing presentations please visit my Presentation Training pageFor one to one business leader presentation coaching please visit my Presentation Coaching page  Here are links to the evergreen webinar versions of the presenting and sales skills  sessions I ran in January and February 2023:Win that Sales PitchBe that Confident Presenter7 Quick Sales WinsPresentation Flying StartBefore you book any training or coaching with me it is important for you to be sure that I'm the right person for you or your teHere's how you can connect with me, Trevor Lee, and find out more about how I can help you deliver confident and successful presentations and sales pitches. One to One Business Leader Presentation Coaching Business teams Presentation Training 15 Minute Free 'How can I help you' Zoom callTrevor Lee WebsiteTrevor Lee Linked Trevor Lee You TubeBook: 12 Business Lessons from Running an Ultra Marathon

Very often when we are planning a presentation or a sales pitch or a briefing to our team either in person or online chances are that whilst we focus a lot on the content and the slides we give little regard to the way we are going to use our voice.John Henny has been helping professional voice users find their best voice for over 30 years and now he helps executives, salespeople and leadership influences and their teams learn to communicate effectively. In this episode of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast John will really get listeners thinking about how they use their voice and the potential benefits of using it really well.John talks about finding the music in your speaking voice to avoid falling into dull, predictable speaking patterns – he suggests that you practice the opening lines of your presentation by singing.Connecting with your audience by using clear emotional intentions is another area of really interesting discussion that we have, as you will hear part of that is using your voice on the very first word to set the intention of your presentation. We also talk about how you can usually voice as part of your presence and use it as an energy tool.As John explains one of the challenges for new any regular presenters and speakers is that they can find tempo an issue – essentially they talk too quick.John's Top Tips:Find your optimal speaking pitchKeep your voice healthy through hydration and restYou can find John at  https://www.compellingspeaker.comAnd on You Tube  - search for John Henry Vocal Studio and check out John's podcast - The Intelligent VocalistThis is episode 266 of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast -  the previous 265 episodes are available on your usual podcast app or you can listen and download them on the Better Presentations More Sales podcast pageTo find out how more about how I can help your teams deliver confident, impactful, memorable and action inducing presentations please visit my Presentation Training pageFor one to one business leader presentation coaching please visit my Presentation Coaching page Before you book any training or coaching with me it is important for you to be sure that I'm the right person for you or your team so let's have a 15-20 minute informal no obligation no fee chat on Zoom.  Do you present without slides? If not have you ever considered presenting without slides? In this episode of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast I'm going to encourage you to think about presenting without slides by sharing some thoughts and ideas around how to present without slides. How to present without slides includes 5 key reasons for presenting without slides: You don't have to worry about technology: your presentation being downloaded, clickers, and in particular the size of screenYou won't risk inflicting 'Death by PowerPoint' on your audience because you won't be using PowerPointThe audience can focus on you rather than your slides and vice versaIt will be easier to run on time - I'll explain how in the episodeYou have a great chance of being really memorable by going slide-less, especially if you swop the slides for a prop or two. This is episode 264 of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast -  the previous 263 episodes are available on your usual podcast app or you can listen and download them on the Better Presentations More Sales podcast pageTo find out how more about how I can help your teams deliver confident, impactful, memorable and action inducing presentations please visit my Presentation Training pageFor one to one business leader presentation coaching please visit my Presentation Coaching page  Here are links to the evergreen webinar versions of the presenting and sales skills  sessions I ran in January and February 2023:Win that Sales PitchBe that Confident Presenter7 Quick Sales WinsPresentation Flying StartBefore you book any training or coaching with me it is important for you to be sure that I'm the right person for you or your team so let's have a 15-20 minute informal no obligation no fee chat on Zoom. What do I mean by wear the coach's presenting hat? Simply this : next time you sit in on a presentation either in-person or virtual, within your own company or at an event think about the feedback you would give the presenter if you were their presentation coach. In sport we 'watch and learn'. In business we tend to watch but not often think about learning as well. In the episode I relay a recent example of where I watched a presenter in action and wore the coach's hat. You can use example to understand how you can wear the coach's presenting hat and by so doing help you deliver better, more successful presentations. The same applies to sale pitches, keynote speakers and those delivering their elevator pitch at a networking event. 7 Quick Sales WinsTo celebrate 5 years of podcasting I'm sharing in this episode of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast 7 Quick Sales WinsThe first episode of this podcast went live on February 25th 2018. In those early days there was no pattern to when the podcast came out, all episodes featured just me and were quite rangy in their business subject area. After feedback from my podcast mentor - Pete Matthew - from episode 20 the podcast came out every Monday and was re-branded as ‘The Sales and Presentation' podcast. My first ‘guest' was Claire Boscq-Scott  on episode 79, I had met Claire at the London Business Show. In 2020 and after 119 episodes a second re-brand happened and the show was renamed ‘Better Presentations More Sales' the idea being that if you deliver a better presentation you are more likely to be successful, and in business that often means more sales. Here's a quick summary of the 7 Quick Sales Wins:Call current customersBe curious - ask big questionsRespond quicklyMake it easy to buy from youGive buyers time to buySurprise & delight customers Know when to shut up! This is episode 254 of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast -  the previous 253 episodes are available on your usual podcast app or you can listen and download them on the Better Presentations More Sales podcast pageTo find out how more about how I can help your teams deliver confident, impactful, memorable and action inducing presentations please visit my Presentation Training pageFor one to one business leader presentation coaching please visit my Presentation Coaching page  Here are links to the evergreen webinar versions of the presenting and sales skills  sessions I ran in January and February 2023:Win that Sales PitchBe that Confident Presenter7 Quick Sales WinsPresentation Flying StartBefore you book any training or coaching with me it is important for you to be sure that I'm the right person for you or your team so let's have a 15-20 minute informal no obligation no fee chat on Zoom. How many times do you receive or make cold calls that are complete waste of time?We all know it happens a lotSo how can we make those calls, emails and messages much more effective? In this episode of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast Collin Mitchell shares how Humantic AI is doing just that by helping salespeople understand personalities of the people they are calling, so they are better prepared for the conversation ahead and by being better prepared they are more likely to keep the conversation going, indeed get it started in the first place.Collin is the Head of Sales at Humantic AI Collin also hosts the Sales Transformation PodcastCollin describes the purpose of a cold call simply to get into a conversation. It is a great goal to have and I think changes the mindset of that call and the way we approach it.To wrap up Collin shares his two top tips that listeners in the sales environment can put into action straightaway:Focus on quality rather than quantityAnd get very good at time management – it is so easy to be distracted, to react to things we don't need to and then ultimately start saying things like ‘I haven't got time to do that' – with the ‘that' usually means something that could make a difference to your sales success. This is episode 253 of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast -  the previous 252 episodes are available on your usual podcast app or you can listen and download them on the Better Presentations More Sales podcast pageTo find out how more about how I can help your teams deliver confident, impactful, memorable and action inducing presentations please visit my Presentation Training pageFor one to one business leader presentation coaching please visit my Presentation Coaching page  Here are links to the evergreen webinar versions of the presenting and sales skills  sessions I ran in January and February 2023:Win that Sales PitchBe that Confident Presenter7 Quick Sales WinsPresentation Flying StartBefore you book any training or coaching with me it is important for you to be sure that I'm the right person for you or your team so let's have a 15-20 minute informal no obligation no fee chat on Zoom. Deliver a Better Presentation with Limor Bergman Have you ever thought how you could Deliver a Better Presentation? One that engages your audience, flows well, doesn't rely on slides and has a powerful, action inducing ending? How to Deliver a Better Presentation is the conversation I'm having on this episode of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast with Leadership Coach and Mentor Limor Bergman who shares some great tips and ideas to help you Deliver a Better Presentation including:Focus on delivering a presentation for your audience and make sure the start of your presentation engages your audience and leaves them wanting more and listening to you throughoutUse stories to ensure the presentation flows, even if the topic seems boringMake sure if you use PowerPoint that the slides help with the engagement of your presentation, so minimise the number of words on each slideAnd when you get to the end of your presentation make sure your audience understand what it is you want them to do nextLimor's top tip is to practice – find opportunities, even with your colleagues, where you can practice delivering a presentationYou can find Limor on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/limorbergman/This is episode 251 of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast -  the previous 250 episodes are available on your usual podcast app or you can listen and download them on the Better Presentations More Sales podcast pageTo find out how more about how I can help your teams deliver confident, impactful, memorable and action inducing presentations please visit my Presentation Training pageFor one to one business leader presentation coaching please visit my Presentation Coaching page  Here are links to the evergreen webinar versions of the presenting and sales skills  sessions I ran in January and February 2023:Win that Sales PitchBe that Confident Presenter7 Quick Sales WinsPresentation Flying StartBefore you book any training or coaching with me it is important for you to be sure that I'm the right person for you or your team so let's have a 15-20 minute informal no obligation no fee chat on Zoom. It's episode 250!So a big thank you to all the listeners who have ensured that this podcast is still going, particularly given that the average podcast doesn't get beyond episode seven. So to celebrate the 250th episode I've got 5 top tips for you to utilise next time you are giving a presentationHere are those five top tips: Think of your presentation in terms of time and money – the more time you put into preparation and practice the more likely you are to be successful, which may well mean more money coming your wayKeep learning and in particular when you are in the audience and someone is delivering a presentation where the coach's hat and think if that person approached you afterwards and asked you for advice about their presentation what would you say?Be a ruthless editor if you use slides, particularly with the words on each slide, and think about using props instead of slides particularly for small eventsArrive early so you can meet and greet your audience, have plenty of time to get set up and if it's an event with several speakers get yourself on firstGo for a dynamic finish telling the audience what you want them to do next and if you going to have a Q&A stick it in before your final summing up and have a couple of rhetorical questions up your sleeve in case no one asks questionsThis is episode 249 of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast -  the previous 248 episodes are available on your usual podcast app or you can listen and download them on the Better Presentations More Sales podcast pageTo find out how more about how I can help your teams deliver confident, impactful, memorable and action inducing presentations please visit my Presentation Training pageFor one to one business leader presentation coaching please visit my Presentation Coaching page  Here are links to the evergreen webinar versions of the presenting and sales skills  sessions I ran in January and February 2023:Win that Sales PitchBe that Confident Presenter7 Quick Sales WinsPresentation Flying StartBefore you book any training or coaching with me it is important for you to be sure that I'm the right person for you or your team so let's have a 15-20 minute informal no obligation no fee chat on Zoom. WHATS IN TODAYS EPISODE:In this episode, Rae Embrey joins Natalie Brite as they discuss the transformational power of energy healing and how it can support us in thriving in business and beyond. Rae began as an animal communicator, working heavily with the energetics of animals that eventually led her to also supporting people with her energy healing gifts. Rae helps humans with soul alignment, guiding individuals to process their energy and heal their core wounds so to reveal their souls purpose. In this episode, Natalie and Rae discuss Rae's unique approach to business energetics and energy healing, and how her work was informed by noticing a common need in people to gain healing in the realms of fear, people pleasing, toxic productivity, guilt and shame, lack of boundaries, self worth and self esteem. WHAT WE TALK ABOUT:How to work with and process the emotional body and our energetic blockages as a path for healing as well as releasing of what does not serve usHow to undue learned ways of coping that are not helping us to step into our full, vibrant selfWays to fill the body with safety and trustThe ripple effect of working with your own energy and committing to your own healingWays to hold energetic space for yourself so you can hold stronger space for clientsBuilding your support team as an entrepreneur so you receive the levels of support that can help you grow in transformational waysClearing your own energy and processing through core wounds as a way to clear your own blockages as well as blockages within your lineagePOWERFUL QUOTES FROM THE EPISODE:"Every emotion that we have has an energy behind it and its either going to fuel us or block us. In this week's episode of The Playful Psychologist, I explore fidgeting and fidget toys.Fidgeting is making small movements with your body, usually your hands and feet. It's associated with not paying attention, and often reflects discomfort and restlessness. For example, if you've been listening to a lecture for a long time, you may find yourself tapping your pencil.Fidgeting can increase your physiological arousal and help you feel more alert. The physical activity of fidgeting can provide a temporary distraction from whatever activity you're doing. Some scientists argue that the “mental break” fidgeting provides is actually your body's way of trying to stay focused on the task at hand. Recently, we have seen a rise in the craze of ‘fidget toys.' All of a sudden, it seems as though every child in every classroom ‘desperately needs' a fidget toy! But, are fidget toys really beneficial for kids, or are they just another way for children to become distracted in the classroom? This episode will explore the following questions:-      Do kids actually need fidget toys?-      How do fidget toys actually work?-      How do fidget toys impact the sensory system?-      How are sensory integration and fidgeting linked? For more sensory ideas, you can check out my Sensory Hacks Guide via the following link: https://www.theplayfulpsychologist.com/product-page/sensory-hacks-guideThis episode is proudly sponsored by Mister Jones. In this week's episode of The Playful Psychologist, I am joined by Emma Gray to talk about postpartum mental health. Emma is a mum of two who is really passionate about sharing the highs and lows of parenting. Emma is also the founder of a community organisation called The Nurtured Village. Together with twelve other mums across the east coast of Australia, she organises meals and gifts for new mums and young families in an effort to advocate for maternal mental health. Emma is also the host of a podcast called The Nurtured Village.I wanted Emma to join us today to talk about this topic, because  I personally found the fourth trimester extremely challenging. Absolutely nothing went to plan for me, I had pregnancy complications, a serious car accident while pregnant,  difficulties breast feeding, family stuck interstate during COVID and so on. I felt like every time I reached out to friends who had kids, they would tell me how great everything was.  And when I would say something like ‘oh I've actually had a crap day, I've found it really hard' they would say ‘oh same' and I'd feel frustrated that they didn't tell me that to begin with, and that I had to be the one to say ‘this is hard, this sucks.'  I wanted to do this episode to let other mums know they are not alone in feeling overwhelmed. I want this episode to help mums feel heard, but also for everyone else to give them an idea of how they can support new mums too and for psychologists who may not have children of their own, to understand the toll that the fourth trimester can take on the mental health of the mum. In this episode,  Emma answers the following questions:What was the hardest thing about the fourth trimester? How did your body react to the lack of sleep? What were some of the things you did for yourself in those early days or, looking back, what were some of the things you wish you did for yourself?I personally have a really supportive husband who is so hands on but I still felt like I needed even MORE support than he could offer me. Is this something you experienced?Looking back, what sort of support did you need from friends and family? Did they give you the right kind of support or did you need something different? What can people do to support new mums? What kinds of pressures did you get from ‘the outside' about your parenting? To learn more about Emma, you can follow her on Instagram @emmagray____You can also check out her podcast The Nurtured Village. To follow along with my own parenting journey, you can follow me on Instagram @emahlyThis episode is proudly sponsored by Mister Jones. Parenting during a pandemic is hard, but right now we have no choice. In this episode, child psychologist Dr. Anjali Roye and I talk about the stresses children and parents are facing during the current Covid19/Coronavirus pandemic. We discuss common points of family tension and offer suggestions for how to deal with them. Dr. Anjali Roye is a clinical psychologist with expertise in the development and behavior of young children. After graduating with a doctorate from Pace University, she worked for Montefiore Medical Group and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, providing early childhood parent-child therapy, and integrated behavioral care within a pediatric setting. She currently runs her own solo practice focusing on providing psycho-educational evaluations and therapy to young children and their families. In her spare time, she loves working in her garden and knitting. You can learn more about her at www.amrpsyd.com. Thanks so much for joining me today for A Therapist Takes Her Own Advice. This episode of A Therapist Takes Her Own Advice is a sort of mission statement. I wanted to introduce myself and talk a little about my life, my practice and my goals for this podcast. Talking about myself felt weird so my husband/producer suggested that we frame this episode with a casual conversation. We discuss my background, my goals for this podcast, and a DBT skill called the STOP skill. I hope you enjoy listening. Please subscribe and look for future episodes where I'll be chatting with interesting people about parenting, self care, and a monthly meditation.
