Even though Saved by the Bell went off the air in 1993, it still has a firm grip on popular culture- the cast reunion of Zach and his high school friends on the Jimmy Fallon Show recently went viral, and clips of the original show often pop up as Internet memes, so much so that sometimes it really does feel like it’s Zach’s world and we are just living in it.What kid didn't want their own cell phone in 1992? Today, Saved By the Bell’s Executive Producer Peter Engel, joins us to take a look at his amazing life which he writes about in his new memoir “I Was Saved by the Bell: Stories of Life, Love and Dreams that Do Come True.”We're still excited. Listen as Peter Engel joins us to talk about the time when ABC almost gave John Lennon a talk show that would have been a showcase, as Lennon put it, for “Freaks, geeks, and people who want to start trouble.”{Best of Feast of Fun: FOF #2423 - Saved by Saved by the Bell - 11.29.16}Plus–• What does Peter make of the fan theory that Saved by the Bell is just a dream that took place in Zack Morris’ mind?• Will Elizabeth Berkley ever embrace her iconic role in the camp film classic Showgirls?• Peter’s biggest TV let down, his pioneering sitcom, Sirota’s Court, where a gay couple got married on TV in 1977.

Ben's not content with the ratings for the last few episodes so he's decided to refit the whole show to be one of those murder podcasts that are doing insanely well in the charts. However, neither him or Phil are comfortable with the whole "murder" aspect so instead pivot to dangerous toys, murderous songs, the deadliest Marvel superheroes of all time and erm...Richard Nixon. Plus: Hannah Montana's crippling addiction to lead reign of terror, Sophie Ellis Bextor Vs W.A.S.P, Enormous Ken's best cinematic role, hammocks for kids, the first time anyone has mentioned "Fully Booked Interactive" in twenty years, the tastiness of glue, Iron Man's terrible crimes, actually nuclear toys, Peter Engel's creative process, torpedo babies, a shameless attempt to tie into "Avengers: Endgame", what Butts Carlton did next and no Easter whatsoever.

Peter Engel's clumsy assistant drops a tape once again (this time on purpose?) and Conall and Rob are unwittingly, unknowingly transported to the halcyon days of the Zelly and Slessie relationships, when the world was new and love was real. Unlike the watered down pest of the Tori Timeline, Zack is once again the machiavellian mastermind we loved to hate in the days of manipulated Beau Rivere tapes. All is right with the world, which just goes to show how warped a world Bayside really is.

I've had the pleasure of having some conversations with some pretty amazing people both famous and not. Today's conversation with Peter Engel ranks right up there in my Top 3. Peter was the Executive Producer for the wildly popular tv show Saved By The Bell (it was a little after my time). But I know all about it...Bayside High, Zack, Kelly, Screetch and Mr. Belding. It was an innovative TV show that covered a lot of different topics that hadn't been touched on tv before and for that Peter is very proud. He's written a new book entitled I Was Saved By The Bell: Stories Of Life, Love and Dreams That Do Come True. His memoir covers so much more than Saved By The Bell the television program...it's a wonderful story about Peter's life, people he has met, situations he has experienced as well as resilience, conviction, determination, life, love and believing in yourself and your dreams. I so enjoy sitting down with a great book of stories that somehow teach lessons about life. This is one of those books~ Purchase it from your local book store or at this link on amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/Was-Saved-Bell-Stories-Dreams/dp/0997943106 Visit Peter's website at: http://www.iwassavedbythebell.com/

Executive Producer, Peter Engel talks with James Lott Jr. about his memoir, I Was Saved by the Bell: Stories of Life, Love, and Dreams That Do Come True. Peter Engel, one of the most prolific producers in television with more than 1,000 episodes produced under his banner, single handedly created the teen sitcom with Saved By The Bell, which he executive produced through all of its many incarnations, and which led to his many other teen series. As if defining and conquering the teen arena wasn't enough, Peter produced the iconic Last Comic Standing, enabling the discovery of an entirely new, fresh generation [...] The post Peter Engel | I Was Saved by The Bell | Author Interviews appeared first on Book Circle Online.

A bottle episode that isn't a bottle episode. The gang at their absolute worst. Conall at his least surprised. Rob, his most frustrated. Did the writers want the characters to learn anything? To develop in any way whatsoever? The dynamic duo debate these questions and more as they descend further and further down the noxious abyss of Peter Engel's design.
