In this heartfelt episode of Eyeway Conversations, host George Abraham speaks with Yamuna Jivana Dasa, a blind spiritual teacher, musician, and advocate, about his unique journey from Johannesburg, South Africa, to Vrindavan, India. Born with optic atrophy, Yamuna shares his inspiring life story, from overcoming early challenges as a visually impaired child to finding a profound calling in music and spirituality. Yamuna reflects on his parents' resilience in raising a blind child in a society unfamiliar with disabilities. He describes how he was supported by his family and encouraged to pursue his interests, with music being an early passion. Despite a lack of resources at his school for the blind, he found ways to keep his dream alive. His pursuit of music led him to Pop Idols, where he released a national hit. Later, realizing the constraints of the industry, he became an independent artist and established his own studio, Gora Records Audio, allowing him to freely share his music and vision. Throughout his career, Yamuna continued to merge his love for music with his growing spiritual interests, eventually finding purpose in teaching and guiding others on a spiritual path. Now residing in Vrindavan, he shares his insights on material and spiritual blindness, the importance of self-improvement, and the universality of spiritual truth. He also describes his work to make spiritual literature accessible to the blind community through Braille and electronic media, emphasizing the role of inclusive spirituality. Yamuna's life is a testament to resilience, self-discovery, and faith, as he lives with the mission to share his knowledge and inspire others, especially the visually impaired. Join us for this deep, inspiring conversation about life, love, purpose, and a quest for enlightenment. The police had a strange situation on their hands. A thief had broken into a multi-million dollar home - to steal a safe. The safe had 3 items in it. Jewelry. Investment documents. And the home owner's old phones. The police were able to quickly determine that the thief did not want the jewelry or the investment documents in the safe. Which means - the thief is going after the home owner's old phones. Why would a thief want some old phones? Was there something on there that they didn't want anyone else to see? But most puzzling is - who would do this to Goo Hara? The home belonged to a k-pop idol who had just died just 49 days ago. What did they want from her safe? And how does this connect to the Burning Sun case? More than a Feeling: Pop Idols
Wengie's been recording her new music and has just finished her English songs. Her producer came from LA to Sydney and they recorded in Guy Sebastian's studio (she met him too, which was pretty cool). The Youtube star talks about how hard it is to sing and dance at the same time. Prince Mak says, that's why idols lip sync sometimes, or on some music shows there's not enough microphones for everyone so some members sing and others just mouth the words...
Mark remembers the time he was totally star-struck by two musical heroes.
This week on the Fan Forum Kevin Kim, Beatrice and Jacques talk about K-pop artists making Christmas albums, the best songs to listen to on your holidays, what K-Pop Idols do when they go away and an EXO controversy...
This week Kevin Kim talks about being in advertisements (CFs). The Fan Forum talk about how funny some idols, like Hyeri, are in CFs. They also say how if you're in a chicken or mobile phone CF then you know you've made it. Kevin's been in heaps of CFs, once he went to Thailand to do a jelly commercial. Beatrice loves the CF that ZE:A did for chocolate bars. Kevin says filming a CF is really different to an MV because all the members have different characters and you have to do different things. You get heaps of free food; so much that after you film the CF you don't want to eat the food for a while. You get quite a bit of money from them too. Kevin and the Fan Forum discuss their fave CFs...what's yours?
This week the fan forum talk about how far is too far when it comes to an idol's weight. They understand that people need to look good when in the spotlight, but it shouldn't come at a cost to their health and wellbeing. Kevin talks about his time as a K-pop idol.
