Greetings from NYC….I have to say that this week has gone by in a a bit of a blur. Indeed, it seems a long time since I was strapped to the chair, recording this week's TCD (sorry, Lucy) pondering what I still had left to do, before I could set-off to board a plane and cross the Atlantic.Certainly, I wasn't expecting Ant to take me back to shooting the promo videos for Holidays in Eden, or to be reminiscing about working with the legendary director Howard Greenhalgh. He was quite a character, with a penchant for straightforward (and profane-embellished) instruction whilst delivering Hollywood production on a Cricklewood budget.Anyway I am off to groove about a bit in New Jersey, if you bump into me at Progstock do come and say hello.Love'n'”for f***s sake look heroic. Now on YouTube is the live music video of Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius' cover of King Crimson's “Frame By Frame.”View it at https://youtu.be/3niTH8OlkFEJoe says, the song always spoke to him with its simple lyrics and dramatic theme. Co-written by Robert Fripp, Bill Bruford, Tony Levin, and Adrian Belew, whose voice, Joe says, “is right in my range and we've been playing this live a lot. I also thought I'd inject it with a lot of staccato violins to give it more of an edge and put my own spin on it.” A studio version will appear on Joe's upcoming album, “Imposter,” slated for late spring 2024 on Melodic Revolution Records.“Frame by Frame” appears on the boxset (2 CDs/DVD/Blu-Ray) “Behind the Curtain (Live at ProgStock)” on Melodic Revolution Records/Amplified Distribution. The box set is three years in the making; the collection is made up of Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius' 2019 and 2021 live performances at the ultimate Northeast progressive rock festival, ProgStock. Joe is the new violinist with legendary rockers Kansas, now on tour celebrating their 50th anniversary. He has played violin for the Who, Bruce Springsteen, 50Cent, Sheryl Crow, and as the concertmaster for Renaissance. The other Stratospheerius bandmembers have a great heritage, as well: Jason Gianni-drums (The Ultimate Queen Celebration, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Rock of Ages, Neal Morse Band), Michelangelo Quirinale-guitar (Thrilldriver), and Paul Ranieri-bass (Mark Wood, Riot Act).

Joe and Stratospheerius play a Queen-esque version of Muse's “Hysteria,” which was in the top 10 on Relix/Jamband Radio's charts as a studio release. Live, Joe and the band play King Crimson's “Frame by Frame.” There are tons of great originals on “Behind the Curtain,” that the prog community has adored all these years. AMERICAN PROG ROCK SUPERGROUP PATTERN-SEEKING ANIMALS RELEASE NEW ALBUM ‘SPOOKY ACTION AT A DISTANCE' Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. Since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2019, Los Angeles-based quartet Pattern-Seeking Animals have been one of the prog scene's most prolific outfits. Formed from members of the influential group Spock's Beard, Pattern-Seeking Animals (P-SA) has staked claim to its own identity, forging a new path in the prog scene.  Named after a quote about human behavior from science historian Michael Shermer, PS-A is John Boegehold (keyboards and production), Ted Leonard (lead vocals and guitar), bassist Dave Meros, and the energetic and talented Jimmy Keegan on drums. Boegehold, known for his film scores and innovative prog compositions, initially formed the group due to the desire to find a home for material that was not quite the right fit for Spock's Beard. Sessions took place with Leonard, Meros and Keegan, and P-SA was born. Ever since, the group has been creating music that is ‘progressive and intricate while keeping things immediate and melodic,' with critically acclaimed albums. The group's new release ‘Spooky Action at a Distance' continues to build on the band's prior successes while branching out into new territory. The group has long put to rest that this is a part-time project. Spooky Action at a Distance finds Pattern-Seeking Animals more confident than ever, approaching new soundscapes and topics, combined with the DNA of their previous work for their most memorable and powerful album to date. John Boegehold explains, “Because this is our fourth release in less than five years, my intention was to shift gears and not go over ground that's already been covered. In addition to using different sounds, textures and musical styles, we approached the vocals, especially backing vocals from a fairly different angle. In addition, the album was recorded, mixed and mastered at a different studio with a different engineer than our previous three releases.” The different approach is not only noticeable in production and sounds, but in the lyrics as well. “The subject matter of the lyrics include a Norse king contemplating life while being conquered, an aging seeker on the path toward enlightenment, aliens hunting down humans trying to evade capture, the life of a conflicted soldier before and after WW1, a pregnant teenager leaving a bad situation at home, a reluctant hero victorious in her final battle and a guy's girlfriend who leaves him because of his conspiracy theories.”   FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT PATTERN-SEEKING ANIMALS VISIT http://PSAnimals1.com Official website http://Facebook.com/psanimals1 Facebook https://twitter.com/psanimals1 Twitter https://www.instagram.com/psanimals1/ Instagram INSIDEOUT MUSIC online: www.insideoutmusic.com www.youtube.com/InsideOutMusicTV www.facebook.com/InsideOutMusic www.twitter.com/InsideOutUSA www.insideoutmusicshop.com INSIDEOUTMUSIC Spotify Playlist:  http://spotify.com/progrockessentials   Discography Pattern-Seeking Animals (2019) Prehensile Tales (2020) Only Passing Through (2022) Spooky Action at a Distance (2023) Support us on PayPal!

SHANE ATKINSON MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST, PRODUCER, ENGINEER & BEAU WEST LEAD SINGER FOR AMERICAN PROGRESSIVE ROCK GROUP EVERSHIP EXCLUSIVE ZOOM SPECIAL EVENT ON INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS! Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. Hailed as “…the new face of American Prog” (ProgRadar) Nashville-based Rock band Evership blends Progressive rock composition with Classic Rock production to deliver a powerful and approachable 70s-style sound. Lauded by PROG magazine as “Glorious retro prog confections...” (#97), fans of Led Zeppelin, Kansas and Styx, to Genesis, Yes, King Crimson and Rush will have a familiar yet unique experience. Their solid and impactful eponymous release (2016) was one of the best received modern rock debuts according to many prominent prog outlets. The sophomore effort “Evership II” (2018), with the award-winning “The Serious Room”, catapulted them to the forefront of the prog rock world and to mainstage festivals such as RosFest and Progstock. The release “The Uncrowned King – Act I” (2021), an ambitious Rock Opera, made scores of ‘Best of 2021' lists, and Progressive rock ‘Song of the Year' with “Wait”. Their most recent release The Uncrowned King – Act 2 (TUK2) concludes the epic adaptation of Harold Bell Wright's 1910 allegory of Life and Truth. The album exudes Evership's immersive neo-prog style with a focus on songwriting and storytelling, but with no shortage of satisfying instrumental performances. The songs are more introspective as we go first-person with the twin princes and their personal journeys. The elevated vocals of Beau West bring the passion of the story to life. It’s been awhile since we had a chance to chat with Robert Berry, and he’s been BUSY since last we spoke, to say the least. 3.2 is on tour now, crossing the country and paying tribute to the musical genius of Keith Emerson.. During the conversation we touched on everything from Carl Palmer to what bass strings he uses, to breakfast cereal! Little did we know that Robert was a fan of Frosted Flakes and to this day plays a Washburn custom bass that Sammy Hagar gave him as a gift. Along the way we learned what they have planned for Progstock coming up in New Jersey and whether or not they’re going to continue along the arc of 3. The band is made up of Robert, Jimmy Keegan, Paul Keller and Andrew Colyer. Robert talks about just how amazing the band is and how well (and quickly) they came together as a group. If you get a chance to catch the live show, you owe it to yourself to do so. It has been receiving rave reviews everywhere they’ve performed. For our Wisconsin listeners, they’ll be playing Shank Hall in Milwaukee on October 20. The Story of ProgStock October 13-15, 2017 in Rahway, NJ Music is not only the universal language, it also has no boundaries. "ProgStock" is an international festival that is founded on the principle of supporting artist families, the music they produce and the fans that follow the genre. This three-day festival was founded to solve a few positive problems. First, even though a handful of fun Prog gatherings exist around the globe, artists are eager to play in the Northeast United States during the autumn months, where and when not much else in Prog circles takes place. Second, we know that Prog fans are seeking a comfortable, classy venue to see their favorite bands perform. Add in a great host town that’s close to a huge airport and regional rail transportation , and that’s most of ProgStock’s story. The only thing we need for this to be complete? You! And with you, there will be much rejoicing at North America’s New International Progressive Rock Festival, which is ProgStock.ProgStock’s main stage will feature music that most radio hosts would find to be too long and too complex to play on-the-air. Dancing in 7/8, indeed, is left to fans who are accustomed to calculating high math in their heads. It’s easy to assume — because even the massive force of Apple Music doesn’t feature a decent Prog option — that the genre is dead. Alas, the Internet is largely credited for bringing together Prog’s most loyal and growing fandom. Saturday night headliner for ProgStock 2017! Aisles, the acclaimed South American prog rock sextet, will tour the United States for the first time in their career to play five dates, including the festivals Progstock in Rahway, New Jersey, and Progtoberfest, in Chicago, Illinois. Aisles will be performing part of their latest record, “Hawaii,” a two-disc concept album about human colonies established in space after the destruction of the Earth. Its twelve tracks explore the dilemmas and challenges that the individual and the human spirit would face in this futuristic scenario. Regarding the theme and sound of the album, guitarist and producer Germán Vergara states: “Without a doubt it’s our most profound work so far. With ‘Hawaii’ we dug deep in search of a concept that could really move us. Our objective was to write music that would emotionally and mentally take us to the place where the events in the album occur: Space.”
