Ontario Premier Doug Ford has sent a letter to Prime Minister Mark Carney outlining what projects he believes are in Ontario's best economic interest. Steve Paikin and John Michael McGrath discuss how the relationship between the two levels of government is unfolding. Ontario's budget is being delivered on May 15th, but, unlike in the past, announcements on the province's spending aren't tightly guarded secrets. Steve and John Michael examine what's been announced so far and how much it will cost you. The Ontario Liberals have official party status, which gives them privileges at Queen's Park that they haven't had for a while. It's a big change for them, but they're still limited in what they can do faced by a majority government. After Arsenal's chances of not winning the title were rubber stamped last weekend, a defeat at home to PSG in the Champions League has left them with a lot to do in Paris. With second place as good as confirmed, and little left to fight for in the league, fans are wondering if Arteta might hold back his first choice players on Saturday ahead of Bournemouth's visit. Both teams are going to be angry, with the visitors also having a disappointing last match-week, dropping points to Manchester United late into the game, and with Bournemouth's European dream alive, but fading, a result at the Emirates could well re-ignite the season. fWotD Episode 2912: 1925 FA Cup final Welcome to Featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia's finest articles. The featured article for Friday, 25 April 2025, is 1925 FA Cup final. The 1925 FA Cup final was an association football match contested by Sheffield United and Cardiff City on 25 April 1925 at Wembley Stadium in London, England. The final was the showpiece match of English football's primary cup competition, the Football Association Challenge Cup (FA Cup), organised by the Football Association. Sheffield United won the game with a single goal. Both teams entered the competition in the first round and progressed through five stages to reach the final. Sheffield United conceded only two goals en route to the final, both in a 3–2 victory over their local rivals The Wednesday in the second round. Cardiff also conceded twice before the final, once in the fourth round and once in the semi-final. They struggled to overcome Third Division North side Darlington in the first round, needing two replays to progress. This was the second time a team from outside England had reached an FA Cup final. The first, Scottish side Queens Park, played in the 1885 final. It was also the first time a Welsh team had reached the final of the competition.Nearly 92,000 spectators attended the final. The only goal of the game was scored by Sheffield United's Fred Tunstall after 30 minutes when he dispossessed Harry Wake on the edge of the Cardiff penalty area before shooting past goalkeeper Tom Farquharson. Cardiff were unable to respond and the match finished 1–0, giving Sheffield United their fourth FA Cup triumph. The match remains the last time Sheffield United have won the competition. Cardiff returned to Wembley two years later, in the 1927 final, when they won the trophy for the first time. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:25 UTC on Friday, 25 April 2025.For the full current version of the article, see 1925 FA Cup final on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm standard Aditi.

Whilst Cherries fans will be singing "mind the gap", Andoni Iraola will be telling his players to "be careful" of the gap - with Bournemouth's trip to relegation-threatened Leicester earlier this season being the prime example that league positions should be treated with a pinch of salt. We know that both statistics and recent history indicates that Bournemouth should wipe the floor with our Hampshire neighbours on Saturday, but the local South coast showdown always provides some extra spice - and it doesn't always go true to form. Whilst Southampton will feel like their season is done, their last league match shows that they are still fighting - so complacency is off the menu for Iraola's Bournemouth - so can Cherries to stick the knife in en route to our European target? Sam and Tom are at the Queens Park hotel to preview the big game, with input from Mike from @MatchDayVlogs .
