In Part 2 of this week's show, I'm joined by SportsBox Ai Founder Jeehae Lee plus Caddie Hall of Famer Dennis Cone and former PGA of America Write & Historian Bob Denney. Jeehae Lee picked up a plastic bat at the age of 8, swung it and the next thing she knew her parents bought her a set of clubs, got her an Instructor, dropped her off at the driving range, and told her to find her way there each day after school to practice...in Seoul, South Korea...at the age of 8! She played her college golf at Yale, helped them win the 2003 & 2006 Ivy League Championships, broke 70 for the first time ever at LPGA Q-School, finished 12th, and earned her Tour card. She retired from the Tour in 2014 and became Michelle Wie's Assistant/Manager. From there she went on to be the Director of Business Strategy for Top Golf. She then started her own company called SportsBox Ai. Their software creates a 3D video of your swing taken from your cell phone. You can see your swing from every possible angle including overhead and underneath. You can overlay your good swings and bad swings to understand what was different. You can also overlay Tour Player swings and learn to swing like they do. Hear all this plus check out Sportbox Ai here: https://www.sportsbox.ai/ Dennis Cone is a Caddie Hall of Famer and the Founder of the Professional Caddie Association. Before his retirement, Bob Denney was a Writer and Historian for the PGA of America. They tell the stories of two remarkable ladies in our game, Madelyn "Moochie" Turner and Renee Powell. Moochie is also a member of the Caddier Hall of Fame. Renee Powell played on the LPGA Tour and is the daughter of Bill Powell who is the first African American to design, build, and own a golf course in the US. NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez DID NOT "vacation" in Newberg PRESS RELEASERyan Clark of the Portland Tribune reported the far left representative from the Big Apple just happened to be in the area last week for vacation. We don't believe it. But, that isn't the real story. What IS real, is the shocking attack on 4 decent office holders on the Newberg School Board. Held in May of this year, Board elections resulted in the addition of two new members, Renee Powell and Trevor DeHart. The new majority including Dave Brown, and Brian Shannon can now make some bold changes to policy, and they are dong it. Isn't that what happens in our form of government? We elect representatives and they vote. The vote may not be what we all want, but citizens are to adhere to specific protocols when dissenting viewpoints are expressed. At the very least, they are to be civil.Brian Shannon, Board Vice Chairman is straightforward and reminded his fellow board members of the fact, they won the election, and majority rules. The Left doesn't care about protocol. "To hell with the election," they say! They kick and scream until they get their way. What they really want is for students to rebel against their parents AND their government. Public schools have become distribution centers for far leftists, and the idea of losing ground is frightening for them, and it shows."Cancel Culture" on steroids.Wanting to keep classrooms neutral when it comes to political flags and banners, the four (4) majority members have been under attack for recommending the US National flag and the Oregon state flag be the only flags on permanent display in the school buildings, which is state law and recommended policy by the Oregon School Board Association.Portland-style Progressive activists did not disappoint, with their usual unkind verbal attacks and coordinated “cancel culture” strategies. ...Divide and conquer? The display of a myriad of flags representing political organizations, (Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ) are divisive, and creates potential issues between K-12 students, who are not even of voting age. It is obvious these issues are controversial, and even more disturbing not age appropriate or academic.BLM in School specifically takes issue with capitalism (honest work), and divides races based on skin color encouraging the collective, not the individual. In addition BLM is known to recruit minor students to participate in protest demonstrations, breaking laws if necessary. Parents and voters in the district expressed specific concern about this issue. That is why the board members won their election. What about their wishes? When in enough, enough? Recognize the absolute blatant hypocrisy of the Progressive Left.  When they lose an election, they cannot be civil, and honor the very governmental system in which they work. Oregonians should know by now, they are being played by packs of community thugs and bullies!Fortunately, these four board members will not be intimidated or deterred in their promises to stop the takeover of their school and community. At least this election was fair…they won! Support the show (https://www.parentsrightsined.com/support-the-cause.html)

Brad Gehl returns to the pod to catch up on developmental tour life, or lack there of over the past year. The downtime created time to make a film, Summer School, which crosses the skateboarding and golf cultures. We discuss the joys of city golf at Canal Shores (Chicago) and Rancho Park (LA). Brad is dripped in a new LPGA #HoodieForGolf designed by Michelle Wie-West benefitting the LPGA Renee Powell Fund and the Clearview Legacy Foundation. The former provides needs-based grants to LPGA*USGA Girls Golf programs to help girls in Black communities participate in golf. This in the name of Renee Powell, the second Black player on the LPGA Tour. The latter helps endow and preserve the Clearview Golf Club in East Canton, OH. Renee’s father, Bill, established the golf club to counter racial discrimination he encountered returning from World War II. Today, Renee is the head pro at Clearview. Brad has been on the bag recently for Michelle. He talks about the experience and his takeaways for his game. He also looped for Justin Thomas at the PNC Championship where Justin and his father, Mike, took down the championship. Brad read one put and tried to give one line off the tee. Oh, and he range-findered a bunker on a Par 3 that led to the greatest meme video in the history of professional golf. Fluff caddy sighting. Brad’s take? “Quickest first step in caddying.” He discusses how COVID has affected the developmental tours and his plan for 2021. HANGRY PROJECT & SUMMER SCHOOL. The Hangry Project was started by Brad and provides a stocked refrigerator at skate parks. This had led to meetings at city halls and now a short film “Summer School” that he wrote, shot and produced. Premieres in June. And check out the swag… approved by Augie - Swag Connoisseur. We end with some glory days of junior and high school golf. Always fun to relive the moments of being a kid, especially when some of those kids are playing and winning on tour.

Established almost 100 years ago in 1925,  the UGA is still pushing to prepare young Black Golfers to achieve success on the many Professional Tours. The UGA Golf Academy is designed to prepare them mentally, physically and professionally to compete as Future Tour Players and Golf Professionals throughout the world. https://files.fireside.fm/file/fireside-uploads/images/1/1ea879c1-a4a2-4e10-bea4-e5d8368a3c7a/EXruSppo.jpg The United Golfers Association (UGA) was a group of African American golfers who operated a separate series of professional golf tournaments for Blacks during the era of racial segregation in the United States. It was started in 1925 with the collaboration of several golfers who saw the need for a organized effort to increase golf amongst themselves. Many talented golfers such as Ted Rhodes, Bill Spiller, Pete Brown, Renee Powell, Lee Elder, Charlie Sifford, Willie Brown Jr, Althea Gibson, Jim Thorpe, Jim Dent, Ann Gregory, and Howard Wheeler started their careers as members of UGA. There's been a few of us inside the ropes so now it's time for us to lift those ropes up and help the others behind us. We're going to train these players at a bricks and mortar facility in Florida that I call The Wakanda For Golf that will be the most state-of-the-art facility in the world to learn this game at the highest level. Resources that include biomechanics and short game area to learn how to score develop emotionally, physically and mentally." "As well we will introduce players of African decent to the industry because not all of them are going to play on tour. We want to flood the industry with qualified professionals that go into the management side of the game, or golf architecture, club design, agronomy. All the different opportunities with the PGA and on The PGA Tour." "At an early age you don't know any different. You don't learn about race and colour until it's told to you. As I got a bit older, when I'm 14, 15 years old and I'm one of the best players in the country, the questions started to come. "Pop, why didn't I get picked to be on that team when I won the scoring title and more tournaments than anyone else?" This is where my dad started talking to my about race, privilege, inequities and equality. I remember playing in a qualifier tournament in Houston, I shoot 69 or 70 and I'm 14 years old and while I wait for my dad to pick me up. Some members of the club walk by a guy hands me his bag thinking I was a caddie. That was one of the first times where I faced it blatantly and I started to get pissed off. I always used that as motivation, not as a discouragement or a reason to quit. I was always like "you know what, I'm going to take these clubs and beat your ass with them!" I used it as encouragement to push forward." Special Guest: Andy Walker - Director, UGA Academy & Player Development.
