Tyler Perry is trading in his famous Madea wig and dress for strip clubs, crime, and non-stop sex scenes in Beauty In Black—a gritty new Netflix series that's a shocking departure from his usual storytelling style. Fresh off the lukewarm reception of Divorce In The Black, Perry dives headfirst into a world of betrayal, nudity, violence, and tension that could leave even his most devoted fans stunned. This series follows Kimmie (Taylor Polidore), a woman desperate to escape the nightclub life. Things take a wild turn when she discovers that her high-profile VIP client is connected to Mallory (Crystle Stewart), the glamorous face of the 'Beauty In Black' cosmetics empire—and a family with deep ties to crime. As the wealthy Ballerie family fights off a lawsuit that could dismantle their business, Kimmie takes a risk of her own, plotting to rob her client in a bid for freedom.Beauty In Black features a knockout cast, including Richard Lawson, Debbie Morgan, Shannon Wallace, Ursula O. Robinson, Julian Horton, Ricco Ross, Terrell Carter, Amber Reign Smith, Steven G. Norfleet, and TS Madison, each bringing to life the show's bold and edgy tone.TeaRon and Tiera Janee break down all the drama, jaw-dropping scenes, and Perry's new approach. Is this the Tyler Perry fans know—or is he reshaping his legacy for a more daring audience?–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––About UBIQUITOUS BLACKS REVIEWS:'Ubiquitous Blacks Reviews' is an extension of the Ubiquitous Blacks Podcast where TeaRon (IG: @tearonworld) is joined alongside Tiera Janee' (IG: @tieratakes_) as the two review the latest in Black Movies, TV Shows, and more. After a couple of years locked in the old freezerinos, fandoms are starting to reconnect in person again. Earlier this month, the New York City WinterCon provided a fantastic opportunity for Aliens fans to meet one another—and to meet many of the Colonial Marines themselves! In this episode, Andie and Christian tell Jaime and Patrick all about their Con experience—Andie as a volunteer working with the cast, and Christian as a costumed attendee. Ever wonder if Mark Rolston is a tea guy or a coffee fiend? Or if Michael Biehn takes a lunch break? Or how much of a single Perfect Organism episode can be realistically devoted to talking about how attractive Ricco Ross is in person? The next sequel we are reviewing is "Aliens”, which is on our "Mt. Rushmore" of movie sequels and I was lucky enough to interview Actor Ricco Ross about his career. Ricco played "Private Frost" in the movie and had so many great behind the scene tidbits to tell plus we talked about his role of "The Cuban" in "Death Wish 3". I loved Ricco's origin story and how a teacher his freshman year of high school pushed him to do the school played, which led to an amazing career. Ricco had stories about Ken Wahl, Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, Stanley Kubrick, James Cameron, Whitney Houston, and more. Awesome chat! This is also a video interview you can watch at sequelsonly.com/riccoross Links mentioned in this episode: Ricco's IMDb https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0743768/ Next up is "Aliens". We know you have probably seen it a ton, but it's a great excuse to watch it again. This week we are discussing "Ghoulies Go To College" in honor of college spring break and wow does this movie deliver on the craziness because this is the 1st installment that has the Ghoulies speaking. We brought back Nick, who is our creature expert, to help us break this one down. We discussed the difference between "a Prank, a Yank, and a Crank", the actor who voices the cat Ghoulie, the Billy Zabka-like villain, the creepy security guard, and more. PANCAKE! This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/ghouliesGTC The next sequel that will be discussed next is "Aliens ", which is on the Mt. Rushmore of movie sequels. I was lucky enough to interview Ricco Ross who played Frost. Ricco and I 1st connected when we were doing the "Death Wish 3" reunion for Charles Bronson's 100th birthday, but he had something come up, but we did it. s an actor, his first year out of college he booked reoccurring roles on "Hill St. Blues" & "The Young & the Restless". Soon afterward, feeling type-cast, he decided to study Shakespeare for a year in England at the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA). That year turned into 13 years of living abroad. There he got "Dirty Dozen 2" and became friends with Ken Wahl (great story about Ken), "Death Wish 3", "Aliens", and actually got "Full Metal Jacket", but that's a story you gotta hear. Great chat. Our 3rd Annual Scary Sequel Month was such a blast and we are ending it with the perfect Halloween movie, "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. This movie sequel had immense pressure of bringing back "The Shape" after the experiment of "Halloween III" has mixed reviews. Halloween 4 is my favorite sequel in the franchise and Jamie's 1st watch, so we had a blast discussing it. We talked about coma strength, Michael Myers's love of coveralls, Brady being a dick, Kelly Meeker, the drunk militia, and so much more. This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/halloween4 Next week we are doing a pallet cleanser after a month jam-packed with 5 interviews and 4 horror sequels with a special celebration of 2 different things next Wednesday. 1 November 3rd is the 100th birthday of the late great Charles Bronson and November 5th is is the 36th anniversary of the GREATEST VIGILANTE SEQUEL OF ALL TIME DEATH WISH 3. We joined forces again with Charles Bronson superfan, Chris Rauch, who you can follow on Twitter @bronsontweets9. I'm talking the Giggler, Hermosa, Angel, and The Cuban all back together again. Of course, I mean actors Kirk Taylor, Alex Winter, Tony Spiradakis, and Ricco Ross. We are going to talk about their auditions, memories, Charles Bronson, and so much more. The crew returns with a movie that might be from 2000, 2001, or 2002. Octopus stars Jay Harrington, Ravil Isyanov, David Beecroft, Ricco Ross, and Carolyn Lowery and was directed by John Eyres with Boaz Davidson and Michael D Weiss as writers. After capturing a terrorist responsible for bombing the US embassy in Bulgaria the only to extradite him to the US is to transport him by submarine. The sins of our fathers come to fruition as a giant octopus has other plans for our crew.
Robert got the TV, but now what. Meanwhile, Joshua gets some advice on Mrs. Harrell. This episode is a companion piece to Episode 2. Episode 2 in part dealt with how Robert was treated by white people while trying to buy the television. Episode 3 shifts to a different point. Here we see a response from some of his Black neighbors.About that N word. It was in the script. I wrestled with it and then changed it and it still ran around in my head. I put it back in because I felt in the moment, yes Leona would say that. The art, in this case the story, has to be honest, and as soon as Keena said it in studio it felt real, it felt like the confrontation built to that moment. Fun fact - when the talented Ricco Ross, who plays Edgar and Rev. Johnson. submitted his clips the first time, they had an echo to them. He resubmitted, but when I listened to Reverend Johnson with that reverb it sounded perfect. Sometimes the accidents are happy accidents that work in our favor.
In this episode, I bring on friend and Actor Ricco Ross and we discuss his journey of raising children and his experience with having "the talk" with teenagers. We also share tips on how to talk with your children about sex. Ricco Ross is known for his roles in Aliens and Mission Impossible. Resources: Follow Viva La Vulva @vivalavulvala

At this fragile time brought on by a global pandemic, economic crisis, and civic unrest, the resiliency of the American experiment is being tested. In this fifth episode of Intention, host Byron DeLear speaks with actor, artist, and activist Ricco Ross about the revolution taking place after the murder of George Floyd. They discuss who is participating in the protests and how efforts to tackle institutional racism have gone global. “Black Lives Matter” is now mainstream and the murder of George Floyd has become a catalyst for real movement on police reform. Byron breaks down the history of Juneteenth, Jim Crow laws, segregation, and connects those policies with the construction of confederate monuments which are now being pulled down. Can America meet this moment? Will her citizens have the capacity to shoulder the responsibility and embrace the need for change? These are the larger questions asked and answered in “Juneteenth, George Floyd, and the Revolution to Fulfill America's Potential.”
