Have you ever experienced this kind of shift, and why? What do you think changes in our safety training when we shift our perspective to safety as personal? "You don't put yourself or others in danger. Be aware of your surroundings." "The ‘why' behind adhering to safety regulations is as important as the ‘how'." "'Everybody is somebody's everything.' This took on a very personal meaning for me." "Safety became much more of an emotional priority as opposed to pure logic." "Remind your coworkers: Who are you being safe for right now?" "Safety is not just about following SOPs but about protecting our families and those who rely on us." Links: National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association website Sarah D'Amico

Today we have guest, Sarah D'Angelo, money mentor, real estate extraordinaire, wealthy woman, speaker, and new mother.
"Sometimes it can look like the project is not to feel and not to listen to pain. But can we start, instead, to regard our pain as a kind of superpower?"
"In the stability of practice, we have to humanize everybody."

In her words, her story started off with little hope, “I was born with various medical needs and was left in a Russian hospital where nuns helped to keep me alive until I was transferred to an orphanage.” The Russian orphanage was convinced that no one would want her, but a family in Thomasville, GA saw her picture and fell in love. This is an uplifting story filled with gratitude and grace towards adoption. Sarah has written a memoir called “Extra Ordinary” to share her positive perspective. She says, “no one can speak to adoption more than an adoptee.” Listen to this episode and check out her book on

In this episode of Be Loved, Be Bold, Mary Patton welcomes her friend Sarah D'Amico, a senior civil engineering major from Niceville, Florida. Per student requests, Mary Patton and Sarah focus particularly on how students can experience the joy of the Lord when life is hard. For Sarah, life brought unexpected turmoil when her mom passed away during her junior year of college. Sarah encourages students by reminding them of the difference between joy and happiness. Because joy is a fulfillment from the Lord that comes directly from Him and from spending time with Him, she says, students can experience joy despite hardship. Sarah also shares two verses: Psalm 73:26 and Philippians 3:13. We hope you enjoy this episode, and we hope that it encourages you to give God your heart and your free time so that you also can experience His joy more deeply this new year.
