A conversation with keynote speaker, leadership trainer, and singer-songwriter, Rachel Druckenmiller. Essential listening for anyone ready to stop holding the best parts of themselves back. Some people find their way to a courageous pivot through careful planning. Others get there because life makes the decision for them. And then there's the kind of wisdom that only comes from having done both, and arriving somewhere you never could have mapped. Rachel Druckenmiller is the kind of guest who says things you'll be repeating to yourself for weeks. About what it means to say yes before you feel ready. About the difference between a life that looks successful and one that actually feels alive. About speaking your desires out loud, even the ones that seem too big, too unlikely, too far away. About how the things that fall apart are often quietly clearing the path to what's next. There is a particular kind of courage in letting yourself be seen doing the thing you love most. Rachel has had to find that courage more than once, in more than one arena. What she's discovered on the other side is nothing short of a blueprint for coming home to yourself. A freshman recognized for AI work, a chef earning James Beard attention and a broadcaster making Kansas City Royals history walk into the same conversation, and what comes out is a blueprint for growth. We sit down with Ash Jackson, Swetha Newcomb and Bridget Howard to hear the real stories behind the headlines and the school moments that helped set everything in motion across Blue Valley Schools.Ash shares how coding and AI first clicked through character creation, and how being part of an online art community changed the way they think about ethics, credit and authenticity in generative AI. Swetha takes us from her mom's home cooking to a major career pivot, then into the concept behind her restaurant: blending South Asian ingredients with Midwest comfort and Kansas City barbecue favorites. Bridget reflects on what it means to consistently appear on the Royals broadcast as the first woman in franchise history to do so, and why preparation, storytelling and professionalism still have to lead the way.We also dig into what makes opportunities stick: mentors who notice your potential, programs that give you real reps and the mindset to keep showing up when it would be easier to quit. You will hear advice you can actually use, from “don't wait for permission” to “be where your feet are,” plus the reminder that luck tends to favor the prepared.Subscribe to Blue Valley Unmuted, share this with someone who needs a push to say yes and leave a review if these stories helped you. Which piece of advice are you taking into your own week?

For years, Erin Snow was a trauma-informed legal advocate for domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking survivors, so she understands well the cost of having nowhere safe to say what's true. When she got divorced, she felt isolated and without a support system, even among people she thought were friends. She'd been so busy being everyone else's “person” that she never let anyone be hers. So, she created the kind of space she was seeking. She founded the Unmuted Room, a judgement-free confidential listening space built on the premise that being heard is not a luxury but a necessity. In our conversation, Erin describes the slow, quiet realization that the friendships she'd been showing up for weren't actually showing up for her – which I think is a common experience that's going to make so many listeners feel seen. In this episode you'll hear about:The challenge of feeling like you don't fit in a friend group and the pressure to conform to their value and interests Erin's slow realization that her role as the listener among friends was being unreciprocated in the midst of a divorce, eventually leading her to feel ostracizedThe importance in finding new supportive relationships and the role of networking groups that helped Erin rebuildThe Unmuted Room and the types of people who seek Erin's services, including people who are in life transitions, caring for aging parents, experiencing fertility issues, etc. Resources & LinksListen to Episode 12 and learn about my theory about the Roots framework; Episode 85 about shifting people-pleasing friendship patterns; Episode 86 about embodying main character energy in your friendships; and Episode 90, aimed at helping men strengthen their social circles.Check out the Unmuted Room and try out a free 10-minute consultation with Erin.Like what you hear? What happens when God confronts the “two lives” we’re living—and calls us out of the background and into honest testimony? In this episode of the Thinking Christian Podcast, Dr. James Spencer is joined by Nick Sash (a longtime friend and the host of the Foundational Fathers Podcast) to talk about Nick’s new book, Unmuted: From Silence to Testimony, and the story behind it. Nick shares how years of hiding, silence, and “keep your emotions in check” masculinity gave way to a defining moment: God’s ultimatum to stop living divided and start living surrendered. Nick explains why so many Christians feel safest staying unseen and unheard—and why that “quiet” approach eventually harms us and the people we love. Together, James and Nick explore what it means to live an ordinary faith—not sugarcoated, not performative, not built on hype—just daily obedience rooted in God’s Word. They also discuss the importance of preparation and humility, the role of Scripture in discipleship, and how the church can form believers who don’t just hear the Word—but actually do it. In this episode, we cover: Nick’s testimony: from divided living to surrendered discipleship Why many men learn silence—and how God reshapes that story The message of Unmuted: moving from hiding to honest witness “Ordinary faith” vs. relevance-driven Christianity Why Scripture must shape the church more than trends or “bells and whistles” The Foundational Fathers Podcast vision (including taking the show on the road) What it looks like to share your story faithfully—one conversation at a time Subscribe to our YouTube channel

What if academic success was about more than test scores—and every student had a team behind them helping them find their path?In this episode of BV Unmuted, Superintendent Dr. Gillian Chapman sits down with Melissa Blevins (Blue River Elementary), Dr. Tyler Alexander (Blue Valley Southwest) and Kelly June (Executive Director of Academic Services) to unpack what it really means to be a champion of learning from kindergarten through graduation. You'll hear how Blue Valley's youngest learners are building powerful foundations in reading and math, with ACT scores nearly four points above the state average, 903 AP scholars, a 96.7% graduation rate and a growing number of students leaving high school with college credit and market value assets already in hand. But the heart of the episode is how those outcomes happen:Teachers using data as a tool for support, not judgment, to personalize instruction for every learner.Classrooms where productive struggle, student voice and engagement drive growth for both AP and on-level students.Intentional work to connect learning to real life through Individual Plans of Study, career-connected opportunities, clubs, activities and strong relationships with staff in every building. If you've ever wondered what's behind Blue Valley's results or how we're preparing students to become curious thinkers, compassionate leaders and lifelong learners, this episode pulls back the curtain on the systems, mindsets and people making it happen.

God is drawing the lines between the status quo churchgoers and the fiery, sold-out-for-Jesus zealots. The culture is boldly trying to mute the followers of Jesus. Christians have been passive and easily intimidated with the powerful, unapologetic message of the Kingdom looking more like a mollified seeking of permission to just exist. In Acts chapter 4, when the elites sought to muzzle the Church, the leaders defied the powers that be and prayed for a ground-shaking fulness of the Spirit that could not be silenced. God is calling today's Christians to respond in the same boldly defiant way to the forces of an elitist culture that keeps trying to press the mute button on the people of God.
