In this episode featuring student success stories, I speak with Anita Schill about her bold decision to open an Energy Medicine business. Find out how as a nurse in the 1970s she quickly became disillusioned with western medicine and sought other options, and how the study of yoga led to her transition to energy medicine. If you're considering making a pivot in your own business, you'll love this episode! “I think it's important to remember the old adage ‘Don't put all your eggs in one basket.' Even if you're happy where you are, there are other things in life.” —Anita Schill This week on the Do It With Intention Podcast: Learn how Anita's early nursing career led her to the study of disease prevention and promoting health in the workplace. And how a high level and rewarding job suddenly became unfulfilling as her interest in energy medicine intensified — and guidance arrived. Discover what the energy body is and how it can have a positive, non-invasive effect on so many illnesses. And why a bodyworker should be able to explain in a concise way what they do so potential clients understand it thoroughly. Resources from this episode: Initially a registered nurse, Dr. Anita Schill earned her doctorate degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health (now the Bloomberg School of Public Health). While her career has chiefly focused on the safety, health, and well-being of workers, her passion for yoga soon emerged. She is a registered yoga teacher at the 500-hour level (RYT 500) and certified as a yoga therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT). Dr. Schill's personal commitment to energy medicine inspired her to pursue her passion for the health and well-being of individuals and establish her private practice, Bliss Zone Energy Medicine, LLC. Across the United States, students are rallying and advocating for their perspectives about the ongoing Israel-Hamas War. Campus conversations and environments are becoming increasingly hostile with many Jewish students reporting feeling unsafe. In this week's episode, Yehuda Kurtzer is joined by Mijal Bitton, research fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America and Rosh Kehilla (communal leader) and co-founder of the Downtown Minyan in New York City to probe the term ‘safety' and how it interacts with the discomfort that a diverse, liberal education should engender. They ask: when is discomfort productive, when is it unproductive, and when does it cross the line to dangerous? They consider the purpose of universities as well as if and how Jews can continue to exist within, and even improve, systems that don't see us. Gojo and Mike Sr. react to the big news of Pat Fitzgerald being fired at Northwestern, the Bob Huggins saga continues, Vlad Jr. comes out on top at a HR Derby full of stories, and This, That, and The Third hits on Wemby's big number, and the criminal portion of the show. (3:20) - Pat Fitzgerald is out at Northwestern after President Schill reconsidered his original punishment. A lot of aspects of this one with Schill releasing a statement. How much was known originally after the investigation? And just because Pat Fitzgerald has a good reputation, good people can still be in the wrong; humans are complicated. (31:33) - Vlad Guerrero Jr. headlines a Home Run Derby with a lot of great stories. Audley Rutschman's amazing feat is just overshadowed by Luis Robert, Julio Rodriguez put on a show for the home town fans, and Randy Arozarena comes up just short with Vlad taking home the title. (37:37) - Mike Sr. tempers expectations for the public as he heads to Tahoe for the American Century Championship. It's not going to be pretty. (39:08) - This, That, and the Third: Wemby's Summer League debut gets the views, a man makes his gender ashamed with his stupidity, and Chiefsaholic is finally arrested.
