Like any industry, self storage has recently adopted the idea of "promotional pricing." Think "first month's rent" for housing or "device trade in credit" for buying the newest smartphone. At some point, it is just too good to be true. There's a fine line between "promotional" and "false advertising." As you could imagine, I get a ton of questions about all things self storage investing (just look at the comments section on my YouTube channel lol), but one question I get a ton is how much money do I need to invest in self storage? And how do I get money to invest in self storage?    Like so many others, most of us just don't have an extra million dollars or several million dollars just sitting around waiting to be invested. And you clearly can't invest without capital. I'm going to let you in on a little secret - NO ONE has enough money on their own to invest and grow a company as quickly and effectively as those raising capital. You simply cannot scale quickly enough on your own.    Why do you think these large private equity companies do capital raises? Why do you think companies go public?    But raising money or bringing in partners isn't the only way to close great self storage deals. You can also seller finance.    The fact is, you can invest in self storage without a dollar of your own money. As you could imagine, I get a ton of questions about all things self storage investing (just look at the comments section on my YouTube channel lol), but one question I get a ton is how much money do I need to invest in self storage? And how do I get money to invest in self storage? Like so many others, most of us just don't have an extra million dollars or several million dollars just sitting around waiting to be invested. Unfortunately so many investors and business owners have banked on these uncontrollable factors playing out. They banked on the market to make them, and that's a massive risk. We've experienced a long run of nothing but sunshine and huge gains, we're talking 10+ years. The owners and investors who have planned on nothing but sunshine will soon find out the hard way that the sun doesn't always shine. No matter what point we're at in a cycle, no matter the business or the deal - I'm always planning for the storms and I'll never expect the market to do anything. I want to have as much control over my wealth and financial freedom as possible. I'm sure you want the same thing. Right now today, I'm buying more deals than I ever have and growing my business faster than I ever have and very little of my decision making has to do with the general markets or economy.
